Room super clean. Bungalow adorable. Perfect for a Greece stay, until you get hungry. No restaurants in sight down either road. Told to walk about a mile to town. Sunset not visible. It disappears on other side of mtn. No passing taxi’s. Stuck unless you rent a car. While the pool advertises as an infinity pool, it is not what you expect. It is surrounded by a patio like a normal backyard pool. Views to shoreline include many wires and some overgrown bushes so don’t go for the view, sunset, or infinity pool.

The breakfast options were great, and the bed was incredibly comfortable – we slept so well! The internet speed was excellent, which made everything super convenient. A big shoutout to AJ at reception – so friendly, articulate, and genuinely helpful. The apartment was always spotless thanks to the cleaner, and it smelled amazing every time we walked in. We’ll definitely be back!

George was very welcoming upon our arrival and gave us all the necessary information for our stay. Double check your driving route to the hotel as Our GPS directed us up and incredibly steep and sketchy hill. Lovely hotel, Great area, and we really enjoyed the pool. Thanks!

Location is excellent if you’re looking for a quieter place to stay and relax. It is in the middle of Fira and Oia.
The room is great, overlooking the aegean sea. Breakfast is delivered in the room with generous serving. Swimming pool is a bonus. We enjoyed it very much.
George who manages the property is friendly, approachable, very knowledgeable and flexible in all our needs.
I recommend hiring a car although the roads are narrow and challenging it is very convenient in going around the place. Oia is just 22 mins and Fira is just 17 min away from the hotel. The hotel has free parking too!
I highly recommend this place.

Great service, beautiful views!

Loved this hotel and the staff were beyond amazing. They helped us arrange airport pickups, made it very easy! We got in early and they checked us in, we were able to spend time at the pool and they got us in our room early. On our departure day we had an early flight, they gave us a to go breakfast the night before. The staff was amazing, by far the best hospitality we experienced on our trip.

U need a car/taxi to get anywhere from the property. The bus stopped once for us but the next day 2 buses drove past without stopping so ended up calling a taxi. The place and staff are new to the business-there r cups and glasses but nothing else to even stir ur coffee. Needs cutlery, plates,tea towel. Over 2 days breakfast was served with again no spoons for coffee,1 napkin for 2 people. No eggcup or cup for the soft boiled egg which turned out to be hard boiled anyway. Desperately need more light in the bathroom specially in shower area. Could do with a small foldaway clothes dryer. Every guest was hanging towels,swimmers over the chairs on their front patio, us included. George’s was helpful and friendly and graciously accepted the few points we discussed to improve things. Ive run a small hotel for 14 years so could tell straightaway him and his team were new to the industry. No major issues but should take a bit more care of the smaller details. All in all a lovely cosy place. Really liked the big covered patio out the front. And the pool is beautiful !

Golden East was the perfect place to stay! In a quiet area away from the hustle of the bigger towns, but still centrally located and a quick drive away from anywhere we wanted to go. Staff are extremely helpful, responsive, and nice. They helped us book airport and port transfers as well as a vehicle to get around the island. 10/10 would recommend and stay here again.

The staff were EXTREMELY nice. The only downside is that they’re unavailable after 1700 so pray nothing goes wrong after 5pm. The closest restaurants are about 1 hour walking distance. If you’re able to find a taxi it’s about 10 mins. I recommend just staying somewhere in the city to cut down on the amount of walking and taxis you may need

We did not stay at this hotel because of dirty sheets, mattress cover, stains on mattress, etc.

The circular staircase was very shaky and narrow making it a difficult climb up to the bedroom with suitcases.

We attempted to find another , but clean, unit and went to the Villa happening hotel.

The staff were excellent. The manager, George, and other staff did their best. We really thank them. However, the room was not convenient at all. The sleeping area was upstairs with a set of spiral stairs. firstly, the stairs were quite inconvenient for climbing up and down, specially if you are a person who goes to washroom during night. secondly, the sleeping area has a very low ceiling. Almost all time we bumped our heads to the ceiling. Button line, quite inconvenient space, even if you use it for just sleeping. If you are a big girl/guy, that would make it extremely inconvenient to stay in such a room.

Bedroom with low ceiling and even a short people can not stand straight. Bathroom has bad smell. We told staff to arrange transportation to airport in early morning, He said it was scheduled. But no body showed up and manager not answering the phone. We have to figure out the way to go to airport by asking other hotel staff to help. We have to say their breakfast is good. The did booked a tour for us wlth is worth it.

Had a wonderful stay at the property. The staff were nice and very accommodating. Nathalia made sure to have the room ready for an early checkin which was so greatly appreciated since we were traveling since 2am that morning. The property is in a great central location 15 mins away from Fira and Oia, and has views of a spectacular sunrise each morning. Would definitely recommend this property

This is a very cute place, on the quiet side of the island. Well worth the money if budget is an issue. If this little place was on the caldera side of the island it would probably be a lot more money. It was a really great find. It Would make an excellent spot for a wedding. The breakfast was very nice as well. Very well run, clean and delightful staff.

Golden East is an amazing family managed place, the habitations are quite cute and have everything you might need, the staff is so nice and professional, always at your disposal to make your life East and relaxing. The common area are extremely well maintained and always clean, and the pool is really nice. The place is very quite and relaxing, and super well located if you have a car.

A nice place to be based to visit rest of Island

We enjoyed our say at the Golden East hotel. The staff were all kind and helpful when arranging excisions and vehicle hire.
Although next to the road the pool area was a nice place to relaxing overlooking the East side of the Island.
Breakfast was good and the Chocolate croissants where are yummy way to start the day.
Location was within walking distance of Imerovigli or on bus route so provides it with a good choice of places to eat. Entrance to the coastal path, which is a must is only a short walk towards Imerovigli.

The photos of the hotel will give you the impression that the hotel is next to the ocean, that's not the case. The city's electrical poles and wires have been photoshopped out of the photos. Your view will be a fairly busy road, lots of farms, and then the ocean.

This hotel is not near any restaurants or bars. You have to have a car if you're going to stay here. If you need to rent a car, don't go through hotel staff to rent it, as you end up paying much more than if you go in the city.

All the rooms have the bed on the upstairs floor, using a tiny spiral staircase. So be careful if you have problems going up and down them, specially if you have physical conditions.

The upstairs floor where the bed is located, has a very low ceiling, we aren't the tallest people (5'10\") and kept smacking our heads to the ceiling when getting in and out of the bed. Hard to remember specially if you wake up in the middle of the night.

The hotel was fairly clean, and the breakfast was decent. The hotel doesn't have a safe, so you have to take your sensitive belongings with you.

It wasn't a hotel, it was a few apartments, with a pool, no bar, no restaurant - which surely is what defines a hotel.
The bedroom up spiral stairs, had a low domed roof, I'm 5'4\", hit my head several times, it was hopeless, you couldn't move around in there at all.
Downstairs was like cave architecture, a stone sofa, small plastic table, no chair. I had to get ready for a wedding, I expected a lot more for a thousand pounds for the week.

Charming little hotel with welcoming owners

Great little family-run hotel that was warm and welcoming! The rooms were super cute, though not much space for luggage (a suitcase rack would have been nice). The shower was great. The bed was very hard (mattress pad needed, in my opinion), but nice to have 2 pillows per person! The location is very convenient to get around the island ONLY if you are driving. It is not walkable, but we rented a car and appreciated going back to a quiet and accessible place at night, rather than staying in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Definitely recommend this hotel - good value, and rent a car at the airport and your trip will be a breeze!

I booked this place to stay with 2 friends as we were visiting the island for our friend’s wedding a few doors down at the Rocabella. The compound was absolutely stunning with lovely views of the sea in the distance. The room was clean and bright with modern finishings. Great service from Nataly who looked after us for the few days we were there and advised us on local activities. Breakfast was croissants, boiled eggs, yogurt, honey, mixed fruit salad, toasted sandwiches, bread and more. It was a great added bonus.

I stayed here with my sister, daughter and niece. Being four girls we felt extremely safe here at Golden East. Nataly and her father were so nice and so friendly. Having breakfast included every morning was such a bonus. If you want privacy and peace and quiet this is the place for you. The view was incredible, not of the caldera but still amazing. Our room was very small but we didn’t mind. The bathroom is a decent size and the refrigerator was convenient. The beds were extremely firm but the bedding was soft. Housekeeping every day was very nice. This hotel was very clean and fresh. Walking to the bus stops wasn’t the safest because of traffic. The roads don’t have sidewalks and the vehicles zoom by within a foot of you. I suggest calling a taxi or renting a car. We became friends with Nataly and her father Costas. We would go back and stay at GE any day. This was the perfect place for us and the perfect price. I miss it already.

Very cute little apartment, nicely decorated. Watch your head going upstairs if you are tall as it is a low ceiling. Continental breakfast served in your room, which we ate on the terrace. Nataly is very friendly and approachable, even providing a mobile phone to contact her- we accidentally called her by mistake when it was in my bag though! Small issue with the shower not turning off one day but they came to sort it out straightaway. Good pool but next to a main road so a little noisy. The location is not really near anything so best to catch a bus to Oia or Fira, buses are regular but bus stop a 5 min walk away with no pavement so be careful.

Great place to stay. The family that owns and runs Golden East are very good people and very helpful. For the location it would be best to rent a vehicle unless you want to use the public bus. The public bus stop is not far away and the fare is only 1,80 Euros for each trip. Great location to travel to Thira or Oia.

Nataly's apartment was very cute! Nataly anf her dad helped us out from the moment we booked the hotel. They can arrange booking your transportation in santorini or any day trips you would like to do. The apartment itself is a little small but it has everything you need. They even have a nice little pool that you can enjoy. Breakfast is continental and can be served right in your apartment. The location is also great about 10 minutes to 15 minutes from the main attractions. Would definitely recommend the place !

This was a wonderful hotel. Well-situated between Oia and Fira so you don't need to rent a car - the bus stop is a two minute walk away. The room was very clean and breakfast is served every day on your own patio. Kostas, Nataly's father, was friendly and helpful and very hospitable. The pool is an added bonus. You can lounge by the pool and then explore the island!

A great find for those looking for a little quiet and plenty of space. Nataly is fantastic! She is there to answer any question & connect you with any service. She provides a small cell phone so you can make local calls and reach her easily. I was hoping for a little more from the breakfast, but it was great to have something to start the day right in the room. The bed was pretty darn firm, but not springy or lumpy or anything. There is a nice view of the Aegean to the east and it's a short walk to great views of the caldera. The nearby entrance to the footpath is in about the middle of the Fira to Oia hike.

Nice place. It is walking distance from Fira (45 minutes) and Imerovigli (15 minutes). If you don't mind walking it is a affordable alternative to staying right in the city. Internet was spotty but everything else was nice. Simple but sufficient sweet snacks provided for breakfast every day. Towels and beds were comfortable. Nataly was on the premises every day and was always willing to help answer our questions. The place is nicely set-up and clean.

Perfect place with an amazing host:)

Nataly was a gracious and amazing host. Not only did our apartment have everything we needed but as an added bonus she included a local cell phone so that we could always be in contact in case of emergency or if we just needed to make a call without foreign fees. The location was also great as it was centrally located with a short walk or drive to both Oia and Fira. Additionally, Nataly arranged shuttles for us to and from the port, a wonderful boat trip, and buggy transportation during our stay. Our only complaint is that our stay was too short :( A stay at Nataly's apartment was a wonderful way to start our engagement celebration and vacation.

Perfect for the vacation we wanted.

We really enjoyed our stay here. I think what made it the best experience is how attentive Nataly and her father Kostos were. They were readily available and made us feel very welcomed.

We are a fairly adventurous couple that really wanted to explore the island. This was the perfect location for us. An easy walk to the heart of Imerovigli via the trail behind the Apartments and right in between Fira and Oia (the 2 larger cities). Close to 2 different bus stops allowed us to use cheaper transportation as well. It was a great location.

We really enjoyed our stay. The customer service could not be beat. They even left a cell phone with Natalys number so we could reach her if we had any questions while we were out. They definitely go above and beyond!

Nataly is extremely organized. She had a special phone for us to call her 24 hours if we needed anything. She had a list of places with pricing of activities, nearby restaurants, groceries, you name it! We loved how clean this place was and the fact that it was near the local bus, which if you tell them you are getting off at Nataly & Katrin, they'll drop you at the door steps! there is a great restaurant down the street from the hotel too (Domo) and it has great food too. Definitely worth staying here given the fabulous service.

Great place for a beautiful sunrise

Everything we had hoped for, for a Greek experience. Great place for a beautiful sunrise. It has an authentic feel to it as they are family run apartments. One day the dad bought us fresh tomatoes and cucumbers... so cute. We had brunch at the communal sitting area everyday... amazing with those views!

The apartments are a 20 min walk to imerovigli and a 2 hour hike to Oia which was enjoyable because of the beautiful views. It is a great location if you want less tourists. We caught the bus everywhere and when we went out late at night we got a taxi which was around 10-15€

Breakfast is only sweet bread or a croissant ( plus tea & coffee) so if you want something different you have have to buy some things from the supermarket in Fira.

Also there are power lines which you don't see in the photos (in the way of the ocean view) but that didn't bother us.

Overall we loved our stay there, it was exactly what we wanted.

A superb apartment with stunning views

Great value for money, the loveliest & friendliest of owners who can't do enough to help you. Room included a Greek mobile phone so we could order a taxi or food etc. Views are superb of the sunrise and it has a lovely pool area. Just a 5 minute walk from the other side of the island with views over the Volcano caldera and only 15 minutes walk into Imerovigili. Loads of parking spaces for a car or ATV and bread, jams and coffee & tea left out after every clean - which is everyday with fresh towels and sheets. Room doesn't have a hob or communal cooking facilities so it is limited self catering.

So happy we booked this one!

I researched a lot of hotels for Santorini, wanting to find the perfect place, and this was it for us. The apartments are adorable; they have a view of the sea and the sunrise would be beautiful every morning. It is nice and private. We rented an ATV which was great to get around. This is a central location, but you are on the outskirts of a village. tge apartments are clean and so cute! I would stay here again.

Nice hotel, a little noisy and you'll need a car

This is a small (6 or 7) group of apartments, each with two floors. The bed is on the top floor accessed by a spiral staircase with a little kitchenette and living room downstairs. Every apartment has a little terrace in front and behind. The apartments are nicely decorated without being over the top. They're cleaned and tidied every day and there is a fabulous pool which you will likely have to yourself. This is a small family business run by Nataly who is very friendly and will look after you and give you any help you need. She even leaves a local mobile phone in the apartment which you can use to call her if you need anything or get lost while out and about.

The larger apartments have a comfortable sofa bed with a pull out trundle bed underneath that can be lifted to make a full size double or two single beds. The air conditioning works well but due to the two floor open plan design of the apartments it's tricky to set it in a way that keeps both floors at a decent temperature for the whole night. My advice is set it to 21C and high fan and leave it on. There is a TV but it only shows Greek channels and there is excellent wifi.

It's noisy at night outside as the hotel is close to what is a main road for Santorini but you can sit in the back terrace which is a little quieter. You will need a vehicle as this place is a long walk along a road with no pavement to the nearest place of interest or restaurant.

It's a good hotel run by very nice people.

Nice little hotel, made great by owner

Good little hotel in Imorevigili, it is a little bit of a walk to the centre of the village and if you dont handle hills and heat maybe tough. However it is on the main road to Oia so easy to get to. Comfy little place with nice pool and is made really good by the owner Nataly who will do everything she can to make you stay great.

Gorgeous view of the sunrise, extremely nice staff

Nataly is probably THE nicest and sweetest person in Santorini. She's lived there since she was very young and has taken many years of English-language school so she speaks and understands it well, which really helps. She personally contacted ATV rental companies and transportation for us while we stayed, and you can order breakfast and have it delivered, with free delivery.
We chose the spot for the view of the sunrise and it was perfect. I would highly recommend this apartment/hotel to anyone.
Make sure to get to know Nataly, she's great to talk with.

Very cosy accommodation

The hostess Nataly took great care. It is best to utilize the hotel arranged pick up for 20 euros if traveling by ferry to Santorini. Suggest renting a car that made our trip very comfortable. We drove around from one end to the other and to all sight seeing locations by car, saving a lot of time waiting for buses. You can see sunrise from the hotel room and sunset by crossing the mountain behind the hotel.

A moment in time to remember.

This was my 3rd time in Greece and 1st time in Santorini. After staying a few days in an overpriced apartment facing the volcano, I moved to Nataly & Katrin for my remaining days on the island by myself. I had a wonderful time and wished I'd stayed longer! This is a hidden gem located near by the major point of interests, between Firostefani and Oia, walking distance to a great view of the famous sunset, quiet, super clean and well maintained inside out, accessible by bus (although I suggest to rent a car if you have kids or to access beaches and discover the island). Waking up every morning looking at the sunrise, reading a book surrounded by beautiful flowers and smelling oregano is an experience that filled me with great joy. Thank you for making my visit a moment in time to remember!
