We knew it was off season, but we didn’t think the hotel would be run down. We were hoping to use the pool and hot tub. We got a notice two days before coming that it would be closed the first two days we were there. However, when we inquired on Monday, we were told it was still closed. The other surprise was the window and door to the balcony in our room are in disrepair. The seals on both are non-existent. Air flows freely through them when they’re closed and the door doesn’t lock. We were on the second floor, but I still felt like the door should lock and I shouldn’t be able to feel air coming through the windows and door. Thank goodness we had mild temps.

The rooms were clean and updated. Everything was in good working order. The room staff took great care of us, replenishing what we had used, they even washed our dishes once!
Maybe we were just a little ahead of the travel season, but the hotel seemed pretty empty. There was never anyone at the front desk. We only saw one other guest the whole time we were there.
It would have been nice to know when booking through Expedia that the pool was not in service, but it wasn't that big of a deal for us.
The comfort level of everything was good, but not great. The bed was like a 7.5 out of 10.
Overall, we had a nice stay, and I would stay there again.

We've stayed there every year for a number of years and it is one of \"our\" places, but this visit left a bad taste in our mouth. The fridge died, and had a LOUD buzzing sound on the defrost button that interrupted sleep.....and we lost our snacks! The toilet had a leaky \"floater,\" and we had to close the bathroom all the time due to the sound. The lights burned out overhead in the kitchenette, and the other lights were INSANE BRIGHT LED bulbed lights.

The worst was the pool area, which is actually why we always book there. The pool had a smell and a tint, and the hot tub was really gross. The hot tub is normally my looooooveeee when I visit and we've lounged, had adult beverages and enjoyed how piping hot it is.....after we visit the sauna. The hot tub was an odd tint and lightly green, with a ton of gross foam on it and it smelled. I lasted 5 minutes, and this is as it is usually a treat!

It made me sad as we've gone every year, but something is clearly going downhill. I've never had a \"list\" of things going wrong anywhere I've stayed and I'm not a complainer - but for the location and cost, it's a concern.

Room 309 was clean. Toilet paper was thin and rough. Hair dryer needed a longer cord. There was no luggage rack to use in our room. The sheets on the bed were not soft. The room was hot even when we turned the heat down. Parking lot view, which was loud when people closed car doors etc. TV was a bit difficult to use.

Clean room with many room amenities, staff was very attentive and the spa and bakers house restaurant that’s connected to this property were exceptional extras however the one thing that needs improvement due to inclement weather the grounds weren’t kept up causing us to shovel the driveway in order to enter the parking garage and exiting the next day was also a task but if you looking for a great lace to stay then Bella Vista is a perfect place.

We loved the feel of the Bella Vista. We fell in love with the open enclosed courtyard and fountain, which gave the property a tranquil, centered ambience. We were seeking a short getaway for Thanksgiving and we're thankful we found it at the Bella Vista. We would have appreciated a lake view, but we had time to see the lake and enjoy the shopping and dining experiences - available within walking distance - during our stay.

The room was great. It was clean and larger than expected. The TVs kept going dark and switching to its Vizio free tv model de during football games. You have to enter your Fubo or other account to get sports. Also one cannot regulate your own temp ( or I just couldn’t find temp control. ) lovely area to visit and nice place

Front desk person was missing for about 20 minutes and the lobby filled up with guests needing help. Otherwise it was a great place to stay. The door on the room next to mine needs a slow close so it doesn't slam. The lakeviews were great for the Venetian Festival on Sunday night.

Loved everything except for the lawn cutting at 8am..It was extra loud with our rooms facing the lake..way too early for that loud of a machine as we were trying to relax at the time yet..another relative was very upset as he tried to sleep in too..other than that, everyone was wonderful, helpful and offered many amenities! Comp water behind desk, coffee, and nut bars all day..will definitely stay again..very clean! Such Comfy beds I have to mention also!!

Get a lake view room. It is well worth it! Loved how the room was set up. Living area first, and then the private roomy bathroom and then the king bed with a balcony for the Lake Geneva view. Toilet was set in back of bathroom for privacy. Crisp, clean, updated room. Would for sure stay there again, gladly. No bar or restaurant but well within walking distance. The only negative is that it’s in the corner on Main Street where most cars turn left. Some noisy motorcycles & trucks, but I always take earplugs so no bother.

I arrived at the property on the lookout for a dated room because of a number of the reviews that I read. But when I walked into our room, I was pleasantly surprised by how tastefully it was decorated and how updated the amenities in our room were. The hotel met all of our needs and then some. The location is unbeatable (though, I'd definitely opt for a lake view if we were to stay here again. And the staff responded promptly to our needs.

The only complaint I have about our room is the letout couch. Uncomfortable is an understatement- whether you were sitting on the sofa or trying to sleep on the bed. On the other hand, the mattress in the bedroom was quite comfortable.

Overall, I would highly recommend Bella Vista Suites.

Note to the Staff:

The room was decoeated really nicely. The coastal vibes were spot on. But the barstools are such a precious color and fabric selection for a hotel that welcomes families. Trying to keep them spot free was an olympic sport. As a guest with snall children, I would recommend/ appreciate a space that is slightly more tiny tot friendly. Thanks.

Hotel is in a great location to downtown Lake Geneva. They have refreshed some aspects of their rooms which is noticeable. The main bed was comfortable and clean.

But there were some things that were still lacking from a comfort perspective. The pull out bed for my kids was very uncomfortable. One of the chairs on the balcony was broken so only one adult could hang out there at a time. The window curtain covering the interior window was noticeable yellowing and old. And some of the mirrors in the bathroom showed wear and tear. The TV set-up was also confusing and didn’t offer much. The outside of the hotel also needs some cleaning and paint.

And for room set-up, it didn’t work great for our family. The AC unit was in the living area which is where the kids sleep. It was too loud and cold for them so we turned it off but that made the back bedroom very warm to sleep. And if the sofa bed was pulled out, the adults had no where to sit. So we couldn’t really hang all together.

The staff was nice and helpful. The rooms were smaller than what the picture on expedia made it to look like. The rooms felt humid and the bed was wet all the time from the a/c hitting it. The fan that pulled air from the bedroom into the living area was noisy. The picture showed an eating area, either a small table or a bar, but there was none. We had to eat on the couch, bed or the floor. Not for families, imo.

Hotel is in a great location! Park your vehicle and walk to marina, restaurants, shops etc. It overlooks the lake and was very quiet.
Our room was appointed nicely with everything we needed, plus a balcony!
I do think a continental breakfast would be appreciated by the guests. I would absolutely book this hotel again.

Disappointing Experience – Not As Advertised. The location is great but photos of the rooms are not what we stayed in. The carpet was frayed, stained, and hadn’t been vacuumed properly. The entire room felt outdated and poorly maintained. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud, waking us up every time it kicked on. We kept leaving because the room was so bad. For the high price we paid, the experience felt like a bait and switch. This stay did not meet expectations, and I would caution others to confirm room conditions before booking.

My stay was enjoyable in spite of the maintenance repairs that are desperately needed. There were 2 large holes on the exterior of a pillar on the balcony of room 301, which was our room. Birds were constantly flying in and out of these large holes, which were pretty annoying. Had they not been just a few feet away from where my wife and I were sitting, it probably would not have bothered us so.

We completely enjoyed our stay. The front patio looking at the lake was a great place for our group of 8 to relax and chat. The location is fantastic! We parked our cars at Bella Vista and walked everywhere we wanted to go.
I could only suggest that a full length mirror might be installed in the suites since there was only one mirror in the room (above the sink in the bathroom).

The hotel is in a good location but is worn down. It says it's a smoke free hotel but the hotel provides ash trays on the balconies, so guests smoke, and the smoke is sucked into the nearby air conditioners into the rooms. Several locks and door handles didn't work in the room and I found hairs on the bed and pillows. We ended up canceling after one night and the front desk lady refunded us. She was very pleasant and understanding. We had a much better experience at the Cove two doors down.

The only thing keeping me from giving this property an excellent rating is small maintenance issues. The room refrigerator was disintegrating, the window was old, leaky, and badly painted, there was furniture in the hallway and broken garden statues outside the front door, etc. That said, the room was spacious, clean, & comfortable. The lobby was magnificent, as was the view of the lake. The staff was kind and helpful, and the location was great. With a little more care and updating it would be a first class location to stay at. As is it was a very pleasant stay.
