The first room I was assigned was absolutely horrible - the carpet was dirty and had hair on it and rubber bands, and there was a huge clump of hair in the bathroom. It was disgusting!!! however, the hotel staff was amazing and they upgraded me to one of their little cabins which was definitely nicer, but the property is very old, so even the cabin was dark and rather dreary. The property itself was great. The restaurant was fantastic and they have the best bartender with the greatest personality ever! I wish I could remember his name, but I can’t. Great location and I had a fabulous time, but I would not spend this kind of money to stay in these old rundown rooms again.

Check in failed to mention you need to use your keycard to operate lights. I wasted three frustrating minutes trying to figure out why the lights wouldn't work.

General store sold cases of soda that had non twist off bottles. Then told me to go buy bottle opener for $18.

There are no reasonable choices for food between a buffet and a high-end steak house apart from the general store food which has airport pricing

I’m in my late 50’s and have no children. At my age and traveling alone I can tolerate a lot. But this property was not very well maintained.

I know they must respect the night sky and limit light pollution, so be warned when you walk the grounds at night bring a flashlight! They have zero-night lighting. Plus, driving around the campus was difficult because there is very little traffic signage giving proper direction. The parking striping has faded, and it was difficult to navigate the roads. They can place reflectors on the pavement that will illuminate the road path when the headlights shine on them. That would help illuminate the road but do not give off light pollution.

During breakfast no one at the restaurant was managing the buffet. They ran out of fruit, eggs and sausage. They also ran out of coffee during breakfast! That can’t happen. No one was bussing the tables. Half the tables were not available because of someone else’s dirty dishes.

I stayed in building six (6). The hallway smelled like a basement. The room was fine, but they need to clean the full-length mirror and pay attention to the those kind of details. The bathroom was also fine. The towels were old and were not soft.

The Tavern was nice. The Post Office was difficult to find. They had people driving around on golf carts. I’m not sure if it was a taxi service or not. No one offered me a lift.

The location is great, in the middle of the park. The property outdoor lighting is terrible. Road signs, room numbers, even handicapped parking spots are in the dark. If you arrive after sundown, and do not know the layout of the the facility, it's super hard to find your room.

Our room has a completely disabled fridge, dial is missing and a wire is cut. Bed is comfortable yet the sheets don't look clean.

In the Park, very convenient for visiting different areas of the park, hikes, etc. Overall, comfortable stay with good air conditioning, basic room amenities. The restaurants and shops are OK, underwhelming, expensive for what you get, but you are in the middle of a desert, so it isn't completely unreasonable. They do overwater the lawns (which is a waste of water in the hottest place in the USA), with puddles on walking paths common.
If we were to come back, we'd probably stay here again, but mostly just for the convinence.

we stayed in the cottages. the room was well equiped and the bed was comfortable. walking distance is a restaurant and every meal we had was excellent. the ice cream shop was so cute. there was a saloon there and shops. it was close to all the places we wanted to see. the area was clean and well maintained. i highly recommend this place and plan on staying here again.

not the greatest start - front desk put us in a room that backed onto a building site (the caution tape started at our patio). The outdoor furniture was filthy. They were gracious enough to offer us a better room across the hallway - but I'm baffled why we didn't get this room straight away. Outdoor patio furniture was still filthy, so we had to wipe that down before we could use. Otherwise, pluses were the friendliness of staff, the general upkeep of the outdoor areas, the options for things to do and the quality breakfast buffet for a reasonable $21. The minuses were the rooms - very basic and Days Inn-like for a massive pay hike. I get the place is IN the park, but triple the price for a budget-esque room is a bit much.

They gave us a room in the 700 building with a beautiful view. The resort was beautiful, clean literally an oasis in the desert. I love the pool with a warm spring water and the Ranger guided hike.

Probably once ideal, this resort needs lots of tender loving care. Upon arrival, we were given a room that already had people occupying it. (We discovered this after carrying bags up a light of stairs, and had to drive bag for another room). That room was next to the ice machine and front door that was broken and banged shut whenever anyone came or left the building. Rooms were 'tired' - out of body lotion and no cups of any sort for the bathroom. Food was underwhelming for first night's dinner; breakfast buffet was very limited. Do not recommend unless no other choices.

We stayed in one of their cottages for five nights. It was quiet and comfortable. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. A couple of small negatives - trash pickup was slow, and there was no table to accommodate a laptop. We ended up commandeering the telephone table for the laptop. Overall, our experience was excellent, and if we go back to Death Valley again, we will stay at the Ranch at Furnace Creek.

Everything stood out and was a wonderful experience for my family. The staff was courteous friendly and helpful- especially Jesse. He went way out of his way for us with helping our son out with a souvenir he wanted. Our room was spacious clean perfect and cozy. We really enjoyed sitting on our porch looking at the beautiful landscape, walking around the property, enjoying buffet dinner and breakfast and loved our experience with the sunset horseback ride. We had such a great time visiting and staying at the Ranch it was hard to leave.
