Genuinely luxurious. Staff went above and beyond, the room was perfect, and the rooftop bar was an unexpected bonus that turned out to be one of the best parts of the stay, really busy and buzzing. Great great experience. Best hotel of the trip if you're not counting the ryokan, which is in a completely different league.

The hotel is deceptively larger than expected when you look at it from outside.
Once you are inside it opens up and they have their own bakery; which was great for quick breakfast, midday or afternoon snacks and for grabbing fresh coffee, hot or cold.
The staff were very friendly and spoke reasonable English, certainly proficient enough to deal with most questions which was very helpful.
The hotel was very clean and modern looking inside and the room layout was good. It’s close to a busy road, but very quiet inside.
Personally I wish I had booked a larger 2bed room as it felt small to me once we unloaded our bags, however, the room had good facilities and felt new.
The hotel is near a bus route so you can get from Kyoto train station or into other parts using buses, however, if the place is within 20mins walk, then walk it as will be easier. We used taxis more than expected but was easy to get to other parts of the city from the hotel given its location.
I would recommend the hotel for couples or families and would happily rebook there upon another trip to Kyoto

First time staying at this hotel when visiting Kyoto and I can say it's ruined me for other hotels in the area. It's in a great location, not to far from Kyoto Station. Breakfast and dining options are amazing, the cafe is great for pastries and quick bites throughout the day, the rooms are amazing especially the large King Size beds. There's even a gym and laundry on site which doesn't require cash. The surrounding neighborhood is great when plenty of restaurants, peaceful outdoor options, and a bit of old Kyoto flair with temples and shrines nearby. Will book again and again when in Kyoto.

Amazing gem in Kyoto. Will definately stay here again next time I visit. Location is excellent, the rooftop view and cocktails are amazing, and the bakery and breakfast assortment is second to none. They even have laundry machines which were highly convenient after our 5 day Tokyo stay. We rented their e-bikes for a hike to the shrine which was very cool and easier than walking. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room is big and the shower pressure is amazing. I felt right at home here and it was hard to leave. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

An excellent hotel that is situated in a less-crowded area yet close enough to the major shopping centers. It is a welcomed break from a crowded day of shopping and site seeing. The breakfast buffet and onsite bakery is unusually good and convenient. The front desk is extremely helpful, especially for those that are not fluent in Japanese. We will definitely stay here when we return to Kyoto.

The room was spacious and we loved that the toilet was separate from the shower and bathroom sink. We received discount cards from booking on Expedia (that was a pleasant surprise). Breakfast was very good with a nice variety. Highly recommend this hotel. Best one we stayed at during our trip. Wish we spent more than 2 nights there.

We loved Nohga hotel Kiyomizu. The hotel was conveniently located by many temples and shrines.

We checked in and got given a lower ground room, asked for one with a view and the hotel upgraded us free of charge. The room is lovely and clean, had a nice shower with good pressure and comfortable mattress. The cafe downstairs was great - so easy to pop down for breakfast or an afternoon snack and coffee. The burger on the rooftop bar was also 10/10. We cancelled one night in Osaka so we could stay here longer.

In love with the property & will definitely return next time I’m in Kyoto!!!! Conveniently located in Gion District (15 minute walk) and super close to bus stop. Staff were soooo friendly and helped me with luggage forwarding. Rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything I could have needed. Also, If you’re into ceramics, visit the shop right next door!

This is a boutique hotel in a convenient location near the Gion district. It offers a nice bakery in the lobby area for a quick breakfast as well as a full service restaurant and a beautiful rooftop bar. The rooms are clean and comfortable with wonderful showers. The staff was extremely helpful in recommending restaurants, calling for reservations, and booking taxis. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel!

This place is amazing. It truly made Kyoto that much better. Staff is extremely friendly, they will help with absolutely anything you need. We rented e-bikes every day while we were there which helped getting around town. If I ever come back to Kyoto, I will only be staying here.

Good location if you’re happy to be slightly out of Central Tokyo and the staff were helpful signposting the bus to get to Haneda Airport. Lots of restaurants nearby especially for yakitori. I did find the bathroom to be awkwardly set up with a low shower going into the bath.

I traveled to 3 hotels for my 10 day trip to Japan! This is far by the best (very modern, clean, and rooms were more spacious)! The rooftop views are a plus and their breakfast food was really good as well!

I’ll definitely be back and would recommend this one to other people!

Location is a plus as well - it’s close to Family Mart, Lawson, and 7/11 and about an 8 minute walk from the substation.

Overall, no complaints! We used the laundry room and the meditation room as well!

This hotel is so good that I don’t want to ever leave. Clean and very modern upscale vibe. Fully equipped rooms with a very relaxing vibe. They give a comfy robe and fur slippers too. Beds are extremely comfortable. Staff goes above and beyond to assist you any way they can. They have in room massages too which is an added plus. On check in, they gave me 5000 yen coupons as well to use in the bakery , or bar /restaurant. And then to top it off ,the restaurant in the hotel has the best Wagyu beef. Rooftop bar is a vibe too. Overall, will highly recommend this place and will love to come back here.

The bakery truly stood out and became one of our favorite parts of the experience. The staff was incredibly kind, courteous, and welcoming, making our stay in Kyoto even more special.

Getting a washer or dryer took a very long time because people would either forget about their stuff or add 60 minutes. Would be helpful if there was a basket to put someone else’s clothes, so you could take your turn (give a 10-15 pickup window or it goes in a basket).

My only suggestion would have more variety with the buffet breakfast -there were a lot of egg dishes that were ok and not a great variety of fruit.The sister hotel in Tokyo had an amazing buffet breakfast that included fish ,chicken ,abundance of fresh fruit.
I would recommend this hotel as it was super easy to get around ,wonderful staff and exceptionally clean.

Never had an in-room purified water filter before. Great game changer for sustainability since we no longer had to stop at convenience stores to buy bottled water! We paid for the buffet one morning and found samples of almost all the breads from the bakery which my husband greatly enjoyed. We also borrowed hotel bikes and the front desk staff suggested a biking route along the river which was one of our favorite activities.

Nohga was such a nice spot to call home base for our stay in Kyoto. It is just down the street from the Kiyomizu Temple. The breakfast every morning is so worth it. All of the bread and pastries are made in house from the bakery Cicon, located in the lobby. The room was pretty spacious for a Japanese hotel room, and we loved how there was a water filtration set up in our room for drinking water. Highly recommend!
