I had an absolutely outstanding stay at Hotel Nohga Kyoto, and it is without doubt one of the finest hotels I have experienced.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were exceptional in every possible way—welcoming, friendly, attentive, and unfailingly polite. Their warmth and professionalism created an atmosphere that made me feel genuinely valued as a guest. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and every interaction was delivered with a smile.

The rooms were superb. They were beautifully presented, immaculately maintained, and extremely comfortable. In particular, the beds were exceptionally comfortable, making it easy to relax and get a great night’s sleep after a day exploring Kyoto.

Breakfast was another highlight of the stay. The quality and variety were excellent, with a fantastic selection that made each morning something to look forward to. Everything was fresh, well prepared, and clearly chosen with care.

The facilities throughout the hotel were outstanding and thoughtfully designed. I even had the opportunity to enjoy a morning sound bath session, which was expertly delivered and a wonderfully relaxing way to start the day. The other facilities at the hotel were excellent as well, contributing to an overall experience that combined comfort, wellbeing, and style.

Overall, the level of service and attention to detail made this a truly memorable stay. I could not recommend Hotel Nohga Kyoto highly enough and will absolutely be recommending it to all. Thank you

The hotel had a nice vibe from the second we walked in. Awesome bakery in the lobby with a wide assortment of options. The roof top lounge also had a cool atmosphere. Heaters for cooler weather. Bar and food options. The rooms were clean and spacious compared to other places I have stayed in Japan. The location was perfect. Easy walk to temples, the Gion district, and to the vibrant Pontocho area. 0.8-1.4 mile walks. The hotel is also on a main road so grabbing Uber or taxis was easy. We will definitely stay here again!!

The Nohga line is superior (even to most of the common American hotel names). The vibes are relaxing, modern, but Japanese touches. The hotel is very pretty -- has a beautiful rooftop bar area and an EXCELLENT bakery in the lobby (with vegan options)!!!

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The concierge will help recommend places if you want to get a foot massage, or head treatment or anything and make the appointments for you. You can also rent eBikes from them if you reserve ahead of time.

Loved staying here and if you get the opportunity to stay in this brand of hotels -- you should!

The room was quite large as was the king bed. The bed could easily sleep 3 people. We also had another single bed. The bathroom was great. The rainshower showerhead was fantastic. Theres no room to put your clothes so you habe to live out of your suitcase, but that didnt bother us. The room was very spacious.

The lobby was always buzzing with people. There's an excellent bakery in the lobby. We also went to the rooftop bar. Very very nice. It was large with heaters and blankets.

The overall hotel is very nice with a great rooftop bar to end the night and very clean. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is also walking distance to some of the best shopping we did the entire trip. Will stay here again for sure.

The hotel is in a great a location and I liked the style of the hotel. With that said, I did find the customer service to be lacking. The 2 front desk agents that assisted me in particular were just not friendly. I arrived early so my room wasn’t ready, no problem, I had plans to meet a friend. The front desk agent seemed like she was expecting me to be upset based on the way she was acting. Like no, I used to work in hospitality so I understand rooms not being ready before checkin. I dropped off my luggage and continued my day. I came back around 5pm and was able to check in, but again the front desk agent was just not kind.

They told me nothing about my room or the amenities. I had to asked if I was being put in a certain room on a high floor (I book their high floor double room)? The front desk agent looked at me and then said yea with an attitude. Sorry, for asking, but you’re not telling me anything so I have to ask. Really put a bad taste in my mouth. I get to my room, open the window, and I have a view of what looks like trash mounds. I didn’t complain since this was a 1 night stay, but gosh what a shock.

The people that worked at the bakery on the other hand were beyond kind and they made up for the not so good customer service from the front desk.

The hotel staff was lovely and very welcoming. The property was extremely clean and well maintained, and the atmosphere made me feel like I was staying at a resort. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

My only concern was the lack of storage space in the room. There was no closet or drawers available to store clothes, which made it a little inconvenient during the stay.

Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely consider staying there again.

Sh shops were really close by. It’s a really great location by the SOG temple. There is a lot to see and doing in the area. The hotel is beautiful and we had a view of the pagoda from our window. Not sure which train station is close by though, but the hotel was just awesome free drinks at certain times including alcohol.

The room was spotless, spacious, with a purified water machine. The shower had a rainfall showerhead and also worked as a steam room. The restaurant and bar were great for when we didn’t want to find another spot to eat! Great fitness center as well, however we didn’t have time to utilize as we were out exploring for our whole stay. I didn’t see a lot of spots nearby like food, shops, but worth it for how nice the space was!

We had a fantastic stay at Nohga. Clean, spacious, and modern rooms with aesthetically pleasing interiors. Staff were very courteous and everyone spoke English. I liked the bakery to grab a quick bite and breakfast offering was great too. Nice and beautiful rooftop bar. Location was a big plus with major attractions in Gion very close by. I would definitely stay here again.

Apart from our bedroom being only a tad on the small side our stay at The NOHGA was simply amazing.
Great small boutique vibe, airy and bright reception with friendly and helpful staff.
Our bed and pillows were so comfortable and the overhead shower was superb.
Breakfasts were plentiful with gorgeous fresh fruits and salads, array of pastries and freshly cooked to order breakfasts.
We ate once at the restaurant. Food was so delicious that we could have eaten more.

Lovely room, very thoughtfully laid out. Lovely shower and toilet. Bed very comfortable. Hotel was very elegant and the bakery was amazing. We got 5000 yen hotel vouchers to spend and got some great things from the bakery. Lots of other amenities such as laundry room and gym which looked very modern but we don’t use as we prefer running outside and didn’t need to wash anything! The rooftop bar is lovely also and they provide heaters, blankets and hand warmers when it’s 5 degrees (but preferable to not be outside despite this…)
Overall, a lovely hotel in a decent location - short walks to subway and Gion district. Would’ve loved to have stayed one more night!

This was a lovely hotel to stay at and I’d definitely stay again. The room was spacious enough for two of us and was very clean. I appreciated the amenities and I breakfast we had every morning. We also opted to eat at the restaurant for dinner one night and it was fantastic. It’s also a great location in the Higashiyama Ward.

We stayed at a superior king room on the 5th floor for 2 nights: the room felt very spacious, good quality furniture. Even though the room is close to a busy street, the windows blocked out most of the noise. Great shower, good quality towels. Rooftop bar serves delicious cocktails.

I had a great stay at Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu Kyoto. The room was really spacious and I was kindly given an upgrade by reception, which was a lovely touch. The bakery in the lobby was fantastic as well – perfect for a relaxed breakfast and great coffee.

Beautiful room!! A little off the main strip but still a quick walk to the tourist area. Water filter was a nice touch. Bathroom was so clean. We didn’t pay for the breakfast because it was expensive, but they have a bakery on them main lobby that was a great alternative.

Nogha hotel has been my favorite thus far on my Japan trip. Staying in 6 different places on this trip, this was the third city. It’s amazing, if you’re debating it, don’t, just pull the trigger. The restaurant downstairs is incredible too. It’s close to the 1000 gates and lots of local things to do.

A good walk to popular sites so we often took taxis because of mobility issues. The room had s filtered water dispenser which we appreciated. Great laundry room too.

Everything was absolutely perfect, it was so good I extended my stay for a few days. The staff is super helpful and the staff also booked me the best traditional omakase in Kyoto, my reservation was pending but they managed to make it happen. I’m currently eating the best traditional Japanese omakase and I’ll probably stay more days in Kyoto. Also the hotel is close to EVERYTHING. Walking distance from everything. I will return and this is where I will be staying. 10/10

This hotel has been a real highlight on our holiday to Hong Kong and Japan. It is a beautifully designed hotel from the entry with onsite cafe and bakery, to the dining and roof top areas and within the rooms themselves. The rooms are spacious with contemporary fit out and finishes. The staff are very friendly and helpful. From a location perspective it is a 10 minute taxi ride from Kyoto station but well placed to walk to Kiyomizu-Dera temple - A must visit on any trip to Kyoto.

The hotel has a very dark decor in the stateroom that I can hardly see. There is no night table to put my cell phone, charger and necessity. The laundry doesn’t accept coins and the machine doesn’t have washer dryer combination. I have to pay one fee for washing and another fee for drying. Yes, I have to go to the Laundry 2 times to wash and dry. For the room amenities, there is no coffee or tea which I find is very common to have both in a Japanese hotel. I was staying in a hotel in Osaka and another hotel in Kyoto, both hotels provided drip coffee (or coffee capsules machine) with cream powder and sugar. I have to ask Front desk for one tea bag @ Nogha hotel.
I also tried to buy baking goods at the hotel bakery. As the bread was really cold, I have asked whether the bakery staff can reheat the bread but got a decline in a rude manner.

I originally booked 2 nights at this hotel but had checked out after one night. The hotel staff didn’t even ask me why I checked out early. I will not come back to this hotel unfortunately!

This is my third time staying in the hotel, I like the design and every detail the owner put into the room. The stuffs were nice, great location.
