This is an excellent hotel. The lobby and the bar area is beautiful and cozy and the food from the restaurant was very good. The rooms are very spacious, updated, comfortable with large windows providing excellent lighting. There are high-quality blackout shades.The bathroom is also spacious, updated, clean, and very nice. The staff was friendly, helpful and available. Excellent hotel providing a wonderful experience.

Oh wow! What a surprise! Truthfully, I was not expecting much, but the price was right and for one night, that was pretty much my deciding factor, for a downtown location. I was actually anticipating a kind of run-down, old hotel in a backwater WV town. It was beautiful. My room was really nice, and it. was. spotless. Tons of free parking on-site. The front desk was super helpful in finding a place to eat. If I had *any* complaint at all, it was the in-hotel bar was closed by the time I got there. Other than that, I was really pleased. I would definitely stay again.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience during our time at the Tygart. I feel that giving the hotel only 5 out of 5 stars doesn’t do it justice at all. We would rate it higher if possible. The room was spacious and had a beautiful view. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful and everyone was super friendly. We even enjoyed the art that was hung through out the hotel and in our room. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone.

We stayed at Tygart Hotel for a ski trip and absolutely loved it. The hotel was clean, comfy, and so cozy—such a warm, welcoming place to land after a long day on the slopes. It’s a charming small-town hotel with beautiful mountain views, and we loved the beautiful local art displayed throughout the hotel. The full breakfast buffet every morning was a major highlight. Tip for skiers: if you’re getting lift tickets for Timberline Resort, you can purchase them directly at the resort for a discount—we didn’t know and bought ours online in advance. We’d definitely stay here again!

This hotel is a hidden gem. Very modern accommodations in the heart of Appalachia. Very pleasant and responsive staff. Dinner in the adjoining restaurant, Oxley House, was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality of the meal. We enjoyed the remodel of the building (we saw it 5 years ago when it was vacant) and the information throughout related to it's history. We especially liked the Lost Towns booklet left in the room. The breakfast was fresh and had various options. We highly recommend this hotel!

The room was to small. The queen bed was not comfortable. The only window in the room was one foot by six and looked out to a service alley way. It was a very dark room with no sunlight. The rest of the hotel decorated with a modern look and very appealing. If staying at this hotel pay attention to what room you reserve and maybe go with an upgrade. Breakfast was very good.

I love this hotel. This was my second stay and while it didn’t quite live up to the memory of the first stay, it nevertheless provided a good experience.
There was live music in the bar when I checked in. Parking is in a private lot adjacent to the hotel. The decor is classy and creates a cozy boutique feel. The room and bathroom were spacious and had everything I needed. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh, and had lots of options.

The Tygart Hotel received a major renovation since I last visited over 30 years ago. The property is extremely well-managed. The staff is friendly and helpful. The dining room is first-class. I found my room a little tight and I was astounded to see plastering falling off the walls as I took the Exit from the 4th floor to the Lobby. All and all a good value and a good choice for staying in Elkins.

The property was very nice. The only complaint I had was regarding the continental breakfast. First it was set up on the bar in the main area instead of the adjacent dining area. Second, it had no healthy breakfast choices- no regular oatmeal, no dry cereals without sugar, no multigrain bagels or English muffins, no yogurt without added sugar. The fruit salad was good however any one additional healthy option would have improved my stay. Thank you.

The hotel is a hidden gem in the mountains of West Virginia! Everything was lovely! The only complaints that we have is that there were not robes and slippers in the rooms, the elevator was a bit sluggish and the back walkways was very narrow. Other than that everything was just lovely! From the seem less check in, to the great room to the beautiful views! It would be nice is more things were open in town Sundays.

Hotel was the best we have stayed at so far. It was quiet. Close by bursa doughnuts and mora bakery. A walk away from tip top coffee and the train history site. We had an amazing time!

Overall, a newly renovated building with friendly service, but I was disappointed about some aspects of the renovation which was not professionally done. The vent/furnace was very loud when it was running, and there was some on and off noise at night coming from the upper floor, which sounded like wood floor cracks, or something behind the wall. I was surprised that a newly renovated building had those issues. Other than that, I was satisfied with our stay.
