Still need some improvement in the service but globally extremely good. The entertainment team was very good. Thanks to Mr.Brown and Mr.Candy! If you like swimming in the ocean, the hotel is directly in front of agitated water. We had a few days with no swimming allowed. But you can walk outside the complex limit to get into calmer and crystalline water.

Resort could not find our reservation so not a good start. The drove us to the preferred club and could not find it either. Had us complete check in paperwork and then took us back to where it all started. Food was ok, we were expecting better compared to other secrets we stayed. Staff made a reservation for us to a restaurant that was closed for that night. Not sure we will go back to this Secrets and might be time to try something different.

Third time to DR, first time at this resort.
Can’t beat the location, the beach is stunning!
The resort was beautiful. Excellent service, great food.
Only complaint is none of the hot tubs were hot, rather they were pool temperature or luke warm.
I would love to return to this place. I hope the hot tubs are hot next time :-)

This property is amazing with a simple layout for ease of movement around. The spa services I received were top notch. I recommend visiting the spa to everyone when there. The on-property entertainment team are the best in class as they ensured a fun time all day everyday. And last but not least stop by the preferred club pool bar and see Maximus for a delicious cocktail. Tell him I sent you.

They have a long way to go when it comes to food and restaurants. Many people got a stomach virus and ended up with IV in the medical facility of the hotel. Bring medications with you if you travel to DR.

Just left after 10 days. Rooms great (we had Secrets Preferred), beach spectacular, nice pools and pool bars. But restaurants only so, so. We tried 6 restaurants to try and get a good steak. Not one good one. Tough meat and always overcooked, sorry to say. Lambchops at Bordeaux were excellent and good seafood at Tierra. Otherwise pretty mediocre food at the a la carte restaurants. We live in Chicago, with world class restaurants, but are not food snobs and do not expect great food at AIs. But these restaurants were just disappointing, at least to us. Actually we liked the buffets best -- you could see what you were getting before deciding what to put on your plate. We have been to a lot of all inclusives over the years and the food here was just a C.

Facility is fine. Beach is gorgeous. Food was ok. Menu and what you get are often not the same. Surf rough. Can’t snorkel. Pool table was awful. Someone should level it. I did not appreciate a pressure sales pitch when checking in after a long day of travel.

Room was clean. Housekeeping was on point. We felt the staff were willing to do whatever we liked if we could get them to understand us. Basic english classes for the staff would help alot. Food/drink orders were messed up alot because of this.

Accommodations were excellent. Clean room, attentive staff, activities available, and great restaurant options. Pools were on the cold side and weather was not great. Bernice at the Preferred Club Bar was amazing. Always interested in our needs and helped make our trip great. Preferred pool, drinks, and food was worth booking.

Some of the staff were amazing and some seemed depressed/bothered
Music by the pool DJ always sounded like spring break. It would have been ok but not every day for 7 days. We will most likely not return or next time pay more and stay in the preferred section.

Started out over an hour late for check-in. Two days in a row housekeeping came in and took the tips we left and did nothing, didn’t even exchange our towels. We had to ask for housekeeping on the 3rd day. Still didn’t give us wash cloths. Didn’t restock our mini fridge unless we asked. The bathrooms have no privacy, hope there are no secrets in your relationship but there are a few still in mine. They let very pushy vendors in that accosted you on the way to dinner 2 of the nights we were there. Very aggressive. We were there with a large group for a wedding and we had to give all of our group info to the report for them to never acknowledge it. It was a very mediocre experience at best. I would try a different chain and try DR again but this being a Hyatt resort had my expectations higher than they were able to deliver unfortunately.

Beautiful location with extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Many issues: lots of doors in the pool area don't close or lock properly, ordered room service that didn't arrive twice, housekeeping staff did not acknowledge the \"no doorbell/do not disturb\" lights (or use the doorbell at all). The buffet breakfast and lunch were good but the restaurants were hit or miss. The app did not correctly reflect which restaurants were open. The resort is definitely still getting its footing.

We enjoyed the ocean. I’ve had room problems. Willing leaking from above bathroom and 3 of our 10 days stay were in bad conditions. Food not as expected. The only place you can eat as soon as you go was the buffet. At restaurant we had 2 hours waiting and received food already cold. Best place to eat was at restaurants at preferred club location for both Secrets and Dreams resorts.
Stuff has no experience but some of them are really trying hard. Really onest , the resorts ( secrets and dreams- at Playa Esmeralda) don’t deserve the price we’ve paid.

The beach is incredible, one of the nicest in the Dominican Republic. The pools, rooms, food, drinks and coffee house were very good. Our butler also was a gem and answered all our questions, made dinning reservations and even walked us to different areas of the resort. My wife and i enjoyed our stay very much.

It is brand new resort and a bit far from the airport.
(about 1 1/2 hrs. from PUJ)
Not so crowded yet, so staffs recognize most of guest which was very convenient and made services are pleasant all the time during my stay.
Foods are good, drink selections are good. All staffs are very friendly and nice.

Unbelievable beach with NO seaweed and relatively calm waters. Sand was gorgeous and plentiful beach area. Tons of chairs and Cabanas. Pool area was sleek. Dinning was amazing with great options and fantastic food. Only thing that was a disappointment was the maid service. They didn't leave the room in a disaster or anything like that just that they would forget to fill out the mini bar little things like that so other than that really really good experience

From the moment my wife and I arrived, we were treated like family. The resort is stunning and the property layout makes getting around a breeze. They had great dining options every night and we didn’t have one dinner that failed to meet or exceed our expectations. We spent 7-8 hours a day between the beach and Manatees bar with Eddy, Mildred, Marina, and Perfecto who were our favorite staff members and a blast to be around. But I can’t forgot our butler Yeudy who was there whenever we needed something for the room or help coordinating a night out or travel plans. We can’t thank the staff enough for making our trip so amazing (but especially those 5 I mentioned)!

The property is new an gorgeous but they were not prepared for the grant opening yet. They didn’t have enough staff and they offered a VIP club that when you try to order something from the breakfast they say they don’t have it. But something that I can give to the staff is that they were trying their best to accommodate us.
