it's not a great hotel but it's also not a bad hotel location wise . we had a water down pipe running though the wall and it must of had a return near the bed as all we had most of the night was crashing water from I'm guessing showers etc .

The hotel is right in the center of the town. The entrance is a little strange and it did not say originals hotel on it. The hotel itself is very basic and it smelt of curry? But bed was comfy and bathroom clean and modern.

One thing after another

The desk clerk seemed surprised that I had a hotel reservation, but aside from that the check-in was uneventful. The hotel room was a decent size for the price and the location is in the center of town. They do allow pets which leads me to a rather unpleasant experience.
My dog was not allowed in the breakfast area. Fine, so I left her in my hotel room. Then, the fire alarm went off and all doors were closed. My first thought was the safety of my dog so I ran upstairs to get her. We descended the stairs and waited in the lobby.

A woman appeared and stated in French something about the alarm being triggered and there was no danger. So I walk upstairs with my dog to the breakfast area. The hotel manager who approached me earlier asked me where I was taking my coffee and croissant. I explained that we were going back to my room. He told me that I couldn’t take it with to my room. I made the point that I won’t leave my dog alone in the room for fear that am actual fire would occur. We got to arguing when the fire alarm sounded again and as the door was closing it hit the coffee cup and coffee spilled onto my white shirt.
I grabbed my dog and went outside and ordered a cappuccino at the cafe next door. This morning didn’t start out well. After the fire alarm stopped & no fire trucks appeared, we returned to the hotel.
Now while taking a shower the night before, the water backed up & nearly overflowed onto the floor. I contacted the hotel & was told it would be fixed.

After a long day of travel, comfort is at this Inn

The owner, Mr. Patel was extremely gracious and accommodating. He was most helpful to me as I tried to resolve a personal situation. His calm demeanor and friendly suggestions made our over night stay a delight.Because of him I would stay for a few day on my next visit to the area. His suggestion for a restaurant was perfect. It would be helpful to a traveler to know that there is a parking area almost directly across from the hotel. This Inn is a hidden treasure.

Cozy hotel which is so welcoming

I simply am in love with this cosy hotel in the middle of the busy town area in Lisieux. The big room really impressed me and I was simply awed by the size of the bathroom!

When I entered into the hotel, I was greeted warmly by Mister Patel and my eyes just got bigger especially when I saw the lift with the door just like in the olden days.

As I went up to Room 20, I was greeted by a vintage designed doorway and of course the bathroom!!! Next came the view from the window which got me really excited! I simply love standing at the window, looking at the people and listening to the church bells. Even though it was winter, I still opened the window and feel the ambience of the busy streets in the day.

Mister Patel is really helpful as I dare not venture too far as it was really dark during winter so I got microwave food from Carrefour Express which was a few shophouses away. I chanced upon Mister Patel and he put my dinner in a microwave so I could have a hot dinner for that night. It was all these little touches and also the breakfast ... I felt totally spoilt!

The location was excellent. Our rooms were comfortable, although my mattress was a bit too firm (resolved by putting extra blankets beneath the bottom sheet). We did not experience the breakfast, so cannot comment. Overall very satisfied and would return.

I've stayed here twice and ironically was given the same room. Room was very spacious and clean and had a little balcony that overlooked a courtyard. First time I went in April, the room temperature was perfect. The second time in November, the room was freezing! I complained about it and they immediately turned the master switch higher. By 4am it was warm and toasty, but had to sleep with my coat on before then. They have free wifi but got bumped out if it a few times. Overall for the price, it's a good place to stay.

I had a good experience at Hotel de la Place. The receptionist was very nice. My room was large and clean. The people were nice and helpful and close to the Basilica and Carmel. Town was cute with lots of shops.

Quirky, Friendly Hotel

Right in the center of Lisieux. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean, although a little bit oddly painted. There were something like 10 tiny, virtually useless pillows on the bed and 2 usable ones. Shower has no curtain or anything. Like a moron, I bumped my head on the slanted ceiling. If your relatively tall, watch your head. Pretty inexpensive fee for dogs. If I were to go to Lisieux again, I'd be happy to stay here again.

Great hotel and good location. St. Peter's Basilica is just across the street.The front desk staff is nice. Breakfast buffet cost $10.00 which is good. The room is clean, big and comfortable as well as the bathroom. The restaurants in Lisieux open at 7 p.m. for dinner. That was Sunday when we got there. We stayed overnight for the the feast of St. Therese the next day. The hotel offers breakfast only. I would love to stay there again in the future.

oh my gosh this hotel is well due an upgrade. The whole hotel is like something from a seaside town in the UK in the 1970's. Room was massive with a double and queen size bed - room was cold although good views of the cathedral opposite. Hotel was ok price - we didnt go for the 12 euro breakfast - had a great coffee across the road instead. hotel did a job but would go outta my way to re-stay x

We came to isieux primarily to visit places associated with St therese and for this the hotel was ideally situated. The room was large and comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was lovely; the bath/shower a total disappointment. It was a triangular tub, not large enough to sit in with a hose but not a shower curtain or proper shower fixing. On retrospect I should have asked to change rooms on arrival as I saw photos of rooms with proper bath/showers.
The hotel services page said tea/coffee tray available; this I had to request and it arrived nicely presented but was not topped up at all during the visit nor were the cups cleaned or changed. Equally the hotel boasts a restaurant; this is not the case - there is a restaurant next tot the hotel but it was closed Satpm, all day Sunday and on the remaining days of our stay closed mid evening.

The lady on reception was extremely helpful and pleasant.

We went to eat mainly in the brasseries around the Basilica. Highly recommende would be Le Basque - extensive menu and extremely friendly helpful staff.

Although it was not a problem for myself, I was able to put my car in the hotel garage ever night, the hotel garage has only enough parking for 4 cars, this is the only possible draw at the hotel. Having said that, there is plenty of parking opposite the hotel (meter payment).

Un séjour qui a malheureusement été décevant. Le passage pour accéder à l’hôtel est assez lugubre, même si ce n’est pas ce qui m’a le plus dérangé. En revanche, les photos présentées en ligne ne correspondent absolument pas à la réalité, ce qui donne une première impression trompeuse.

Une fois sur place, j’ai été gêné par le manque total d’isolation : des personnes faisaient la fête dans la chambre voisine et j’entendais absolument tout. La chambre elle-même était très délabrée, avec beaucoup d’humidité, ce qui rendait l’atmosphère peu agréable. De plus, une odeur persistante se fait sentir dans tout l’établissement.

Les seuls points positifs restent la localisation et le prix. Avec le recul, ce dernier aurait dû m’alerter sur la qualité globale du séjour.

L’emplacement en plein centre permet de visiter à pied. Le parking est proche. L’accueil dans le hall est plutôt décevant car désuet mais la personne est sympathique.
L’ascenseur et les couloirs sont à rafraichir.
La chambre était très spacieuse, avait l’air récemment rénovée avec bon goût. Mais la porte de la salle de bain était difficile à manoeuvrer car elle frotte le sol. La moquette est à nettoyer.
Le petit déjeuner est très copieux et bien garni de fruits, viennoiseries, charcuteries et yaourts.

Nous avons choisi petit déjeuner avec chambre classique enfin ce que nous appelons chambre rempli de poussière n’en parlons même pas de la literie avec des draps et coussins taché… étant allergique à la poussière c’était horrible une odeur infecte quand nous sommes rentrés dans la chambre obligé de laisser les fenêtres ouverte toute la nuit avec le bruit cela n’était pas du tout reposant heureusement que c’était qu’une seule nuit.
Concernant le petit déjeuner nous avons payé 20 euros pour 2, ont nous a dit qu’il serait servi entre 7h30 et 10h nous sommes allez à 9h10 il n’y avait plus rien à part du fromage et des yaourt donc pour 20 euros cela ne valait pas du tout le coup, heureusement que nous avons eu une dame pour nous rembourser le petit déjeuner. Nous pensons prendre 1 nuit pour nous reposez cela était 10 fois pire… enfin bon tout cela pour dire que sa ne mérite pas du tout 3 étoiles comme il le précise étant fait beaucoup d’hôtel avec mon mari celui-ci et bien le pire que nous avions fait.

Ma chambre n'était pas propre du tout (cheveux et poils partout y compris sur la lunette des toilettes et sur les draps) et dégageait une forte odeur très désagréable. Le personnel n'était pas disponible (j'ai cherché quelqu'un pour emprunter un fer à repasser pendant plusieurs minutes, tentant notamment d'aller à la réception par deux fois, sans succès).

Hôtel qui aurait besoin d'être rafraîchi. Moquette tachée pommeau de douche plein de calcaire donc qui coule très peu. Chambre dite grand confort et bien il ne faut pas être difficile. Machine à café dans la chambre mais sert juste de décoration puisqu'on ne dispose pas des capsules de café. Pas de proposition de petit déjeuner pour le lendemain matin nous avons du aller en ville. Personne à l'accueil pour notre départ. Bruit de porte et conversation du personnel dans la nuit qui réveil. Bref c'est un Hôtel qui aurait besoin d'être amélioré par la gestion ,un bon coup de propre, rafraîchissement et de renouveler ses photos sur leur site .

Nous sommes arrivés, la chambre empester la cigarette et le sol était sale. La douche était cassé elle ne fonctionnait pas il n’y avait pas de douchette .
Le ménage n’a pas été fait, les serviettes n’ont pas été changé

Hall d'accueil ne donnant pas envie de rester. Accueil par du personnel ne parlant que peu voir pas français tant le premier que le deuxième jour!.... C'est un comble Chambre sentant fort le tabac nécessitant un changement de chambre. Meubles peints, vieillots ... Rideaux dont on devrait vérifier les agrafes afin de pouvoir faire le noir complet. Pas de télécommande de télé.

Literie au top, chambre convenable, il manquait juste des rangements (armoire ou étagères) et la douche a un sérieux problème (l'eau continue de couler quand on a terminé de se laver ) Le petit déjeuner laisse à désirer... Le 1er matin le café de la machine était infecte et le 2éme matin ça manquait de pain, on nous en rapporte une fois refroidi il durcit vite ...

Sinon le personnel était sympathique

Bon sèjour à Lisieux . A l'extèrieur il faisait 5 degrès , le chauffage ne fonctionnait pas . Avons ètè à accueil , un monsieur charmant nous montè un radiateur électrique ;dans la salle de bain il ne faisait que 17 degrès ...Un peu juste pour prendre une douche ou n' avait pa de savon douche .

3 eme passage dans cet hôtel.

J’en suis à mon troisième séjour dans cet hôtel où ville où je me rends régulièrement. Les 2 premières chambre au dernier étage sous combles étaient superbe digne de l’option confort que j’avais pris. Sur mon dernier voyage j’avais bien stipulé vouloir reprendre une de ces 2 chambres. Ma demande n’a pas été prise en compte, malgré l’option (+7€) confort je me suis retrouvé dans une chambre (pardon un cendrier) au 3eme étage qui m’a beaucoup déçu. Odeur insoutenable de cigarette froide en arrivant dans la chambre, obligé s’ouvrir pendant 30mn la fenêtre afin d’aérer avec une température extérieur basse j’ai eu du mal à me réchauffer. Chambre qui a vécu avec une liseuse au niveau du lit complètement arrachée quelques cheveux longs noirs sur les draps alors que je suis châtain au cheveux courts !
Bref très déçus de cette dernière visite. Les poins positifs sont quand même une mise à disposition d’une petite bouteille d’eau, une machine expresso avec des capsule, dés salle de bains spacieuses et bien refaites dans la tendance déco actuel ça c’est sympa.
Les tv sont de bon format avec toutes les chaînes de la TNT, la literie était excellente sur les 2 premières chambre, un peu usée sur cette dernière expérience.

L'établissement est très bien placé, mais on dirait un hôtel un peu à l'abandon, dès l'entrée tout laisse à désirer, hall non balayé, porte d'entrée difficile à ouvrir, miroir cassé dans l’ascenseur (dangereux). Moquette sale dans les parties communes et peintures à refaire partout, papier décollé dans la chambre, porte de la salle de bain qui s'ouvre en poussant très fort et à deux. Ça pourrait être très bien mais il y a du travail. Hôtel qui dépanne s'il n'y a rien d'autre. Personnel agréable heureusement. Bien cordialement

Hôtel bien dans l'ensemble, mais qui est dans son jus et qui aurait besoin d'une rénovation.
Par contre propre dans son ensemble et personnels agréable.
Imbattable au niveau prix vu sa situation, centre ville proche de la Basilique.
Je recommande cet hôtel pour passer une ou deux nuits niveau Qualité/Prix imbattable pour 3 étoiles à Lisieux.

Hôtel calme FRAIS agréable accueillant centreville

En plein centre de Lisieux , parking ombragé un peu plus loin , non payant la nuit .Très BON accueil , propreté impeccable , très BON petit déjeuner ,ambiance calme et fraiche (comme si on commençait 1 pèlerinage!) ; Avons été seulement un peu dérouté de régler notre séjour à l'avance = 2NUITS ; dans les AUTRES hôtels , nous réservons mais réglons à l'arrivée = PLUS LOGIQUE ! Nous y reviendrons volontiers (dans cet hôtel) car Lisieux et sa Basilique c'est MAGNIFIQUE!

établissement en très mauvais état, entrée sale, ascenseur état déplorable, lampe liseuse en panne, lampe murale prête à tomber, armoire sans barre pour suspendre les vêtements, etc. etc. photos à votre disposition.

Nous avons été bien accueilli, par contre cest mal chauffe heureusement on m'a dépanné dun chauffage d'appoint.
Le petit déjeuner 10euros pas trop le choix.

Chambre confortable mais très bruyante selon les voisins que l’on a et si on est côté rue …
Tres bon emplacement en centre ville
Personnel convenable mais j’ai dû insister un peu pour que Nos 2 chambres soient côte à côte … pour avoir une chambre d’écart finalement…
L’hôtel n’accepte pas les chèques vacances c’est un point négatif par contre
