The staff was amazing. But it’s being renovated. And had a lot to be desired. And wasn’t given any warning it was being renovated. Expedia didn’t warn as well

This hotel should not be allowed to take visitors. The halls smelled of sewage, windows had caution tape, we booked the “Comfort Inn” but the hotel is actually called the Port Hope Inn. We all got extremely tired and felt dizzy shortly after going into our room - I asked the person working if they had CO2 alarms as we felt unwell. She said the things on the ceiling were - I showed her a picture which I had already researched and had discovered they weren’t. She said she would text her manager to inquire. When she came back to our room she rudely said that bc the heating was a radiator they didn’t require CO2 alarms. My family was feeling ill in the room so I had to book another hotel and we left. The rooms were also very dirty and disgusting (which I was okay with at first as we were staying due to a last minute emergency), but we had to leave as we did not feel safe and they were not concerned at all.

The hotel is under construction. You did not mention that. The price you charged me was greater than if i had booked directly with the hotel. The wallpaper is literally peeling off the walls. I feel like I am in the Hotel California. I talked with the staff but there is no refund because i booked through Expedia so i am staying but not happily. There is also a terrible smell in the hallway. What a disappoint and a really experience through Expedia.

The hot water did not come on after 10 minutes of running the taps. The television had a fuzzy picture and there were only 5 or 6 channels. The coffee machine did not work. The building was under construction and kids running in the halls so had to speak to them. Our room was fabulous with a kitchenette and lots of room. Breakfast was good, staff pleasant, room clean just needs a bit of updating. Parking was fine. I left my stainless water container behind and they put it aside for me for pick up. Appreciate it

Room was clean, but is in need of remodeling. Bathroom sink was damaged and rusted. Website listed hairdryer included, no hairdryer! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Windows in my room did not have any locks on them. I was on the second floor, but there was another piece of the building about two feet shorter outside my windows. I did not feel safe!

Poor service. Asked for handicap because of walking difficulties, they said they don’t have any which was not in my reservation. You have to ask them specially to make up your room? They don’t leave a tv channel list in your room because people steal/throw them away. It’s a photocopy for gods sake. The little bottle of conditioner was half full? Isn’t that why it’s in a little bottle, for one time usage? I punched in on the internet for Comfort Inn and got this place that definitely wasn’t. It’s totally ridiculous. There’s more but not worth it because nothing will be done. $484. Terrible. You’re name is on it as well

The bed was not comfortable and pillows were old, my tv didnt work the 1st night, there wad no shampoo in ky shower nor did it get replace at during my stsy, there were holes in one of my towels. For the price it was what i expected. Front desk day shift were very nice (got my tv fixeecafter 2 attempts with the night staff with no help), friendly people. I'd stay again if the beddiing, tv , mattress and towels were updated.

The Hotel was great, but the first staff member encountered was horrible. This person asked as soon as i stepped through the door, did you use expedia?! I replied yes, then staff member said: I don't know your reservation!! How did this person even know about us using expedia and a few more couples from what i understand!!

Our first floor room was advertised as having a fridge and microwave. There was neither. There was no hairdryer. There was no phone. There was no coffee pot. The lampshades were burned and torn with missing lightbulbs. The rug was filthy. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling. We paid the exact same price for this disgusting room as did our travelling companions, who had a room on the third floor. But worst of all, when we told this to the staff, they said they could do nothing about it \"because we had booked through Expedia\"! As though Expedia would be happy to know that the room they booked for us was horrid. We asked for the contact information of the Manager who was not on site until Monday. An email was sent to her Tuesday, asking that she confirm receipt of the same. Over a week later, we have not had the courtesy of a reply. It was our worst hotel experience ever.

We paid the price of a premium hotel for a smelly room with equipment that were worn out. First of all the room smelled like feet! The bed was so uncomfortable and noisy that we decided to sleep on separate beds. At night, a loud music could be heard from one of the units which did not let us sleep and there was no means in the room to call the receptionist. It was the worst experience I had in Port Hope.

Rooms are old, paint peeling, dirty, old filthy carpet. There were lights broken in parking lot flashing all night because they need replacing, which flashed through the window all night.

This was my second time at the property; however, it had recently changed its name from the Comfort inn brand. The only noticeable change was there was no waffle iron to make waffles, as before! The only negative would be the setup of the breakfast area in general. It was poorly organized such that, for example, the coffee was poured at one side of the area and the cream was in a fridge on the other. Maybe fine if just one person was there but with little kids, it was an accident waiting to happen. Anyway people were milling around not orderly at all. We’ve had much experience at US Military inns so notice some issues that they need to address. Otherwise, staff were friendly, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Well worth what we paid especially compared to comparable properties in the area.

It's what you'd expect of a motel stay for the price you're paying. The clientele is mixed in terms of age and what they're probably visiting for (families, guy's trip, elderly, etc.). Our floor was quiet. The bed was comfortable and the unit was mostly clean, but the carpet and blackout curtains could use a deep clean. I brought slippers having read other reviews and would recommend others to do the same.

Second visit in a row same issues. No shampoo. Not enough dishes or essential cookware, had to clean out fridge. No dish soap and dirty dishes in washer. The service was much better than previous visits. Gina is usually who checks us in and is extremely unprofessional in both dress and attitude. Very put out when asked to do anything . This time the manager checked us in. Was very helpful. The cleaning staff we tracked down gave us the shampoo that we needed. We understand the renovations are what they are but staff is complacent and no one is completing their own jobs which is reflected in attitude and uncleanliness.
