The property needs full renovation as the bad smell coming from the carpet
in the floor of building, management should consider immediately to replace the carpet by adding lamented flooring and repair in all the rooms and the smells coming through the ac vent too.
I wish I can visit the property after renovation, customer service is great
This hotel has great potential if the management consider to improve the condition of the flooring.

Dirtiest hotel room we've stayed in.

The hotel's lobby and restaurant areas certainly qualify for 4 star rating as well as the good breakfast buffet. And that's as far as it goes. Go up to the accommodation, and it's another world. Everything about the description of their rooms is false. The room we got, in my view, looked like the photos you see in a 2 star hotel room. It was about 30-40 years out of date. The worn-out carpet was filthy, especially along the edge of the whole room. The bathroom sink was grubby, and I had to use an old toothbrush to clean the muck around the sink. The cheap bathroom door was old and plaster was broken around the frame. The plaster around the shower was peeling off. The toilet had to be flushed at least twice each time to make it work. The room's reading lights were badly installed, as there were bits of broken plaster around it. A standing lampshade was dirty with wiring hanging around all over the floor and the switch showing exposed wiring. This 'superior room' which I booked described the facilities as having a bidet, turndown service, DVD player and bathrobes - none of which were available! There was no guest information in the room, and we had to call several times to get a room service menu, which was old and stained. We only had two bath towels provided. I had to ask for hand towels, and on one occasion, after the room was 'cleaned' just one hand towel was in the bathroom. It took us three calls to the housekeeper, as well as asking two cleaning ladies in the hallway to

Aged hotel needing investment but comfortable

While old in its facilities (like non working plugs to charge phones or the screeching of the hair drier) overall stay was comfortable and quiet. The staff were polite and helpful.
Clearly the hotel needs a face lift and a change of carpet throughout but still good reasonably priced food and a number of eateries attached to the hotel outside. By the sea of course and opposite the old parliament. Very central with a number of the big hotels in the vicinity as well as the ultramodern One Galle Place shopping mall

Facilities and Room Services teams needs to upkeep the amenities and cleanliness in the room. The safe malfunctioned twice, the TV cable and phone cables were loose, the aircon unit broke down and there were cockroaches in the toilet. The sides of the bed frame also had patches. The screws on the headboard were not fully tightened, you can scratch yourself on them. The lift buttons are cracked and rides were not smooth sometimes.

Very well located, even though the Hotel is a little bit dated it is clean and very well maintained. The rooms are large with excellent views and the staff are very good. We use a lot of Hotels on Colombo and this is now our number one choice for good accommodation and value for money.

Grand old building but maintenance has been poor. Add to this that the staff were slow.
Booked a King non-smoking room. Initially given a room with two double beds then moved to a King room but it stunk of smoke.
Air conditioning in both rooms was disappointing.
Breakfast was good as were the conference facilities.
If I'm in Colombo again, I would rather stay elsewhere

Bad experience at Galadare Colombo

I had a very bad time. This was my first bad experience in a 7 star hotel. Really surprised how it was rated 7 star. They really spoiled my holidays with my family. They changed my room due to An AC problem. They shifted me from 10th floor to the 4th floor.
I was surprised that every floor had a different service.The Forth floor had very poor service . The hotel didn’t even have an ironing board and iron. This is just one incident.
I had to suffer due to the mistakes by the hotel and reception.
I kindly ask HOTEL. COM to look into hotels before recommending them .
Please look into it as it is always hard earned money of every customers. Thank you

Galadari location is superberb, standing alongside with other top grate hotels in same strach; out of all Galadrai has the full benefit of getting full and interrupted vew over Galleface and Portcity. Most of the amenities walking distance such as One Mall (new – good standard).

Our room view was excellent facing Galle face and Port city. Considering hotel location and structure many room benefit from similar view.

Property does require some uplift and we have being informed that Radisson group had already taken over and this will be a huge plus for both parties will be hugely benefited

The room was not clean as we entered, seemed like it was a spare room they had just put together. Requested the room And toilets to be redone while we were out.
Main disappointment was asked to be changed to another room but was told that they are full and that the room we had booked was a old room, hence the status of the room.

Never felt so unwelcome in a hotel.

Station is right next door to Colombo Fort. So thought it was a good place to stay after our 10hr train journey from Ella.

Door man didn't open the door for us, security was rude, the approach of check in was rude and abrupt and was delivered very condisendingly. \"you know you need to pay for anything extra\" (obviously it's a hotel...), do you have someone else staying... Is she your wife (does it matter?).

3 star room, bathroom was old. What was worse was that the lights didn't work. We didn't realise until late and my partner didn't want to make a fuss.

Left a dissapointing comment card, still not heard anything.

It's OK. But not 5* or luxurious.

Not a 5* hotel. Stayed in both the Presidential and Executive suites and both are in need of repair. Taps leaking, sockets not working. Unable to control the AC and or turn it off.
Take ages to deliver room service, and collect bags.
Was even told by the reception, 'can you not bring your bags down yourself'.
If you want 5* stay at the Kingsbury. Spent ten days there and this was luxury at its best.
Everything worked with efficient and prompt service.
I stayed here after the Kingsbury as this was cheaper, for two nights, but somewhat regret it.
Would I come here again?, not unless it's significantly cheaper than the competition.

Safe and beautiful

I was pleasantly suprised with he fantastic reception and service from the moment I arrived. First of all, the hotel is in a great location in Colombo fort area with lots of activities and bars around. They have a couple of really good restaurants at the hotel too and a fan zone for watching the cricket world cup. My room was upgraded and it was a great and spacious room with all the facilities you need and more. Overall a fantastic stay, and might I add, the security is fantastic and you cant help feeling safer then ever in the beautiful Sri Lanka and I urge all tourist to return back to the gem of the Indian Ocean.

This hotel is old never painted or carpet been changed ever since it’s built . I saw cockroaches running in the room . When I having breakfast i saw a mice. Very sting filthy. I got a non smoking room but it’s smoked up . Even it’s free I will never ever go again there . They very cheap management . This hotel need complete renovation or rebuild new one .

Buffet style dinner was not Sri Lanka prices and the beer was way over priced. Aircon in the room had that old damp smell like the filter was as old as me (37). Bed was comfortable and room was clean and spacious. Location was excellent. I would say it's a little over priced, but it was the location I was after being so close to the station was key.

Terrible. They did not receive the booking from hotels.com. Check-in took well over 1 hour. We were then forced to either go home or book the over the counter rate which was nearly double the price we had already paid to Hotels.com. A refund was refused on the Hotels.com payment. Ended up paying 2x the rate and loosing the cash on the original booking. The hotel, staff and technology being used is ancient and they should not be selling rooms on Hotels.com if their systems are unable to receive the bookings. Please save your money and do not stay here.
