Best vacation ever

The staff was amazing! The food that they had at the hotel tasted great and looked wonderful. So also got to dine in paradise, sitting in the shade looking out over the peaceful rice fields. Everything about our stay was so pleasant we would totally go here again.

I had an amazing experience. Love the overall look and presentation of the hotel. Staff super friendly. Went with a family of 5, we stayed for 4 days and we wish we stayed longer. We took advantage of the shuttle bus to Ubud. Went to the monkey forest, the temple, the market and a bunch of restaurants in between. Definitely a great experience. Better than Kuta in my experience. Oh! And bring bug spray for the mosquitos.

Nice resort, but internet connection is bad!

I have spent 5 days at the Bhanuswari resort...and:

Good points
- very good and smiling staff
- quite and peaceful place
- comfortable bed
- hot water all the time
- good body massage at a competitive rates

Bad points
- Room features not as advertised!!..for example:
- INTERNET!!!unless your room is close to the reception you will struggle to get internet to work;
I went to the reception twice to let them know and the first time the receptionist told me that \"the cable might have some problem\"(Wireless connection....), the second time(the day after) the same receptionist told me I had to go close to the reception to get internet (?!?!);
Considering the fact that this resort is 6-7 km from Ubud, a good internet connection is necessary so you can plan, seek and book whatever thing you want to do, from tours to restaurants.

- TV cable did not work!I simply could not watch anything...

Friendly Staff and Lovely Setting

We stayed in the Bhanuswari Resort & Spa for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful...in particular, the reception staff were excellent and organised transfers or answered any queries we had with ease. The rooms were very clean, the pool was lovely and the food in the restaurant was very tasty. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel to other visitors.

Hotel is not well maintained, cupboard was smelly with a dead lizard. Hot water works sporadically, no toothbrush or toothpaste are provided either. Have to continually combat ants in the room, flies along corridor and stair landing.

Staff service is generally warm but lacks consistency. Towel and tissues are not replaced on certain days. Photos shown on web do not tally with actual hotel conditions.

Overall 2/5. Will not return.

The resort is nice but not clean

The resort is far away from town area, not convenient to search for food. The toilet is big but the toilet flush broken in my last day of stay. I don't like the toilet has big windows but no curtain, people can see through from outside, need to be careful when you take shower as there maybe people peeping you. The wardrobe inside is full of dust, it seems like the cleaner never clean it for quite some time.

Quiet with great view

Relaxing stay

Stayed for two nights. The room was quite basic compared to other hotels for the rate, but the environmental surroundings are really lovely and there wasn't much time spent in the rooms. I found the bathroom to be a bit dark and a hanging rod wasn't screwed into into the bathroom wall properly and fell off. The staff were very helpful and the shuttle service they offer is great. The pools were nice and it's a great escape from the busy city.

The resort must have been really wonderful when it was new and when the staff was motivated. Now the bathroom smelled mouldy, the water feature did not run and was falling apart, the phone did not work, the staff did forget us several times at the dining or breakfast table, left as soon as possible.

Quiet getaway literally next to rice fields.

Firstly come here if you're looking for a quiet & relaxing getaway next to nature. It is not located near to the center of Ubud (20+ mins drive by hotel free shuttle service) so be prepared for this. The rooms are OK (7/10), breakfast is surprisingly fantastic and you get free transport to Ubud & back to the hotel. It is right next to rice fields and nearby villages within bicycle distance.

Authentic experience in Ubud

We had two nights at the resort and found the place a fantastic immersion in the Balinese culture. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff is very friendly. The pool was just the best: it feels like being in the middle of the rice fields. This hotel was a little isolated but there is a free shuttle available anytime to Ubud centre.

nice pool overseeing the padi fields... hotel staff goes out of their way to make my stay comfortable. One of the ladies at the reception counter made the effort to run after me with a torchlight to help me navigate back to my room at the furthest end of the resort during my first night in the dark. when i asked for a roll of masking tape, they sent 1 staff out to buy one for me. the drivers who ferry the guests to different parts of ubud for free are very friendly and responsible.

Aircon is not working, bedding smells but room pretty clean and too far from town.
Airport shuttle was messed up, got picked up and had to wait an hour in the van while they were waiting to collect other passengers without letting you know. Rubbish services, hotel food was awful too

the hotel was about 20 minutes drive to Ubud centre but the free shuttle service was very good. we stayed far as possible from the entry in the older rooms because there was a lot of working noise near the lobby from construction work. the room was okay and comfortable but there was a big gekko in our room which made a lot of noise every hour so we changed to the new building. the room there was less comfortable and the surrounding area was not a garden yet.

Super friendly and helpful resort staff, very comfortable rooms and beautiful facilities and surroundings. Excellent breakfast menu. Quiet location away from Ubud, perfect for a getaway, but still with good access to the town for day trips. Highly recommend.

Staying out in the rice fields

This is a pretty good hotel, with two nice pool areas, overlooking the surrounding rice fields. While breakfast was decent, the staff was friendly and the location was nice and quiet, the linens were a bit dingy and there was a strong smell of diesel in the bathroom. Also, if you are hoping to walk into town, this is not the place for you...it's a good 15 minute drive. You can either rely on their shuttle service - which seems to be at your disposal when you need it. Or you can rent a scooter / motorbike from them at very reasonable rates - which, to me is the way to go anyway as it'll really allow you to explore the surrounding countryside. All in all, not a bad stay and I consider staying there if I am ever in Ubud again.

I stayed at the Mansion, Suly resort, and Oka Katrina also. I choose to come back to Bhanuswari. It is 1/2 to1/3 the cost of the Mansion and I preferred Bhanuswari. My upstairs room in one of the 4 plexus I like much better than the suite the Mansion upgraded me to. The bathroom is hugh with the tub in the middle of the room. The back 1/4 is open to the outside. The shower is in the open. I love to sit on my balcony

A nice and quiet resort for those who wants to get away from the crowds and busy lifestyle. The staffs are wonderful and friendly.
For those who hates pest like ants, lizards, mosquito, etc, you may not prefer this resort as it part of the nature package.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The staff was really friendly and it was obvious that they wanted us to have a lovely stay. Thanks to everyone again! The hotel is not in Ubud centre, it is located 10-15 minutes from Ubud but we regarded that as a real advantage. There is a free pick up and drop off service (until 10.30pm), you only have to call the reception. We never waited more than 15 minutes in the city. The drivers were also very friendly. The hotel was surrounded by rice fields but unfortunately not all the rice fiels were green as it was the harvest time. The two swimming pools were very nice and the garden was perfectly maintained. There were lots of beautiful flowers and butterflies. However the buildings are a bit old and would need a good clean/painting. Our room was great (I think we were upgraded in a deluxe room...), the bed was huge and comfortable. But the cupboards were not really clean so if you are after a spotless room it can be disappointing. We didn't really mind because there were lots of kind thoughts (nice flowers on the bed every morning). Breakfast menu was good and even if there is less variety than a buffet breakfast, you won't be disappointed (the pancakes were delicious). Be just careful with the tours offered by the hotel as you have to pay extra costs for the activities (temples, dance) and it's not really clear on the flyer. On the whole we had a good time and enjoyed the staff's friendliness

Delightful rural hotel

The hotel is in the middle of a rice paddy. Hint for ease of arrival email hotel and ask them to send a driver to meet you at the airport. We loved the peace and tranquility of the hotel as it was a good 15 minute drive from the hotel to Ubud. A car would take you into Ubud at no extra charge whenever you needed one. The rooms were fine and serviced beautifully every day, but silly little things like not repairing the broken lights that were lit at dusk, despite pointing them out, not topping up the tea bags, just took the edge of it. Having said that the staff could not have been more courteous and helpful, within the limits sometimes of language. It was a delight to stay. The food was fine, ŵe only had dinner once in the hotel and breakfast is as anywhere else I should imagine heavy on eggs and if you want the muesli you will have to ask for milk and possibly a spoon. We would go back definitely as we just loved the peace and tranquility, courteous staff and lovely ambience.

Very nice!!

The little bumpy road to this hotel made me nervous of my decision to book this hotel. Minutes after I was there, I was fully relieved and convinced it was indeed a thumbs up decision. Located by the rice fields, you will be subject to peace and an enjoyable time here. The pools are great, especially the one right by the rice fields. I forgot to get the name of the receptionist, but you wouldn't miss her for she's too sweet to go above and beyond to give you all the information. She said she was from the nearby village. Anyway, the service was good.

The hotel provides free transport to Ubud city, so no issues on that. And for the adventurous ones like me, you can rent a motorbike from them, at an affordable 50k Rupiah / per day. Another unique thing is the made to order breakfast, the pancakes are a must. The omelet, my staple breakfast was a let down but maybe others might like it. the juices were fab. Good place to stay, nothing to worry. :)

Bhunaswari Hotel and Spa

While the hotel itself is set in a very nice area with lots of evening sounds, like frogs and insects, I found the manager to be a bit brusque, for example expressing disapproval when we turned down his invitation for their New Year's Eve gala (at $75 per person). Also, the room we were assigned was below the dining area, so the noise from the wooden chairs scraping the floor above was a little unnerving. To be fair, the staff did allow us to change rooms when we complained. The breakfast buffet was mediocre, but was actually to be expected considering the cost of the stay and the season. Other than these drawbacks, things were good. There was a shuttle van that brought us to the center of town whenever we wanted it. In addition, the scenery from the hotel was very nice with lots of greenery and the air smelled very fresh. The rooms and the hotel were pretty clean, and I don't recall seeing any uncomely insects. Overall, for the price, the hotel was worth it.

very nice view of the countryside. it has met our expectations of a calming holiday and waking up to the full paddy fields atmosphere.

Very friendly people with kind hospitality. Although going anywhere will be a hassle for its location being so remote, its hotel transfer service offers great flexibility.

Room came with a semi-open bathroom & I totally understand & accept ants and leaves etc, however the floor in the bathroom had not been cleaned for a long time & was quite dirty which turned to muddy feet when wet. Toilet was not cleaned and smelt of stale urine, was cleaned next day, bathtub plub didnt work. Did have fridge but no mini bar contents, no information in room ie no room service, laundry or spa details available. Only Indonesian local channels on TV. Shuttle bus that we used was disgusting, old, no air con and fixed windows in rear of mini bus, mildew stains everywhere and dangerous, seats moved when going over bumps. Villa Rooms are down a steepish gravel driveway, not easy to navigate in the dark & you will get drenched going from room up hill to main building for breakfast or for transfer etc. Only positive was that the local cuisine produced on site was of a very good standard. Overall I would give this hotel a miss, better available for the price closer into Ubud.

Bhanuswari resort and spa UBUD

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel manager dropped us off at the town when no one was available. I had bought a wooden ststue eslwhere but he took the trouble to go out of his way to get it polished. The rooms were clean and always made up when we come back from our trips out. thebeautiful and scenic environment was relaxing. I would certainly stay at this hotel and recommend Bhanuswari resort and spa to friends. thanks to all the friendly and courteous staff!
