The hotel has the friendliest and most helpful staff - especially in the restaurant. The only staff I found a bit annoying were the spa ladies who tried to sell you treatments right when you come out of the main restaurant. The treatment I had was okay but not really worth the money. We had swim-up rooms and unfortunately there were ants in my bathroom which should have been noticed by the cleaning staff. The rooms were okay but you could see tear and wear on the furniture which was a shame. The property with all the plants and trees is amazing. The gardeners do a fantastic job and it is a joy to walk around the property.

For an all inclusive holiday I literally couldn't guve any faults. The beach was small but nice enough. The sunset view was honesty gorgeous, we watched it evey night at the pool bar which was lovely.

Great place for both families and couples

I took my mom out on a lovely summer holiday to Astir and we’d love to be back someday! The rooms were lovely, and so were the pools, the sea water was warm which is quite a change for us. The lunch staff knew our order by heart, and everyone we spoke to provided excellent service, from reception, to the bar staff and buffet waiters, everyone was exceptionally welcoming. The food was pretty good, there’s options for everyone. We did expect there to be more fish on a regular basis, but when they did it was amazing. You’re catered for all meals if you have the all inclusive package which I’d recommend. We were pleasantly surprised with the entertainment, which we didn’t know we’d encounter! The entertainment team kept us going all day, from the water gymnastics class all the way to their shows after dinner, what a treat! They were all super lovely and made the time to speak to everyone they walked past throughout the day.

The only not so positive element was the amount of children in general. I purposefully picked a hotel that didn’t seem to cater to babies and children that much but that didn’t seem to stop it being packed with families with young kids, specially around the pool entrances.

Booked Sea View but Not All Are Sea View Rooms

Booked months in advance a sea view room however our room was a pool view of chaises and umbrellas and clearly should not be in the category of sea view. We also were half board but found the food to be o.k. We only dined 1 out of 7 nights at the hotel and chose restaurants in Kos.

For the positives, our room itself was very nice and we were pleased. The bed was comfortable, pillows very good, shower had lots of hot water and did not vary in temperature. A/C worked very well. Wi Fi needs upgrading though.

Everything is kept very clean and all the Covid rules are being applied (felt very safe in this hotel). Buffett is currently served by the very helpful staff who are all wearing masks, it takes a little longer than it would usually but it’s fine everyone understands. I’d say the mix of people at the hotel is 80/20 Germans to Brits. Plenty of sunbeds to go round ( we didn’t get round to the pool til 10am and there was always space). Only downside is the hotel isn’t walkable to local restaurants, need a 12 euro taxi to kos town or Tigaki but seeing as most go all inclusive it’s not a big issue. Overall a lovely stay.

Good hotel, bad food!

Astir Odysseus

My family and I spent one night at the Astir Odysseus. There were some positives about the hotel - the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the pools were nice and clean. It has a nice atmosphere for a family vacation. Unfortunately we were unable to use the beach as it was closed due to high winds. Our main disappointment with the hotel was the food. We had access to the dinner and breakfast buffets. The dinner was awful. Not one dish was remotely impressive, and we all left with tummy aches. I would not recommend eating dinner at the hotel. The breakfast was not too bad, as it is hard to go wrong with a breakfast buffet.

Another problem with the hotel was the way that we were rushed to check out. We received constant bangs on our door in an attempt to get us to leave, even though we were completely on time. We had the right to take our time to leave, as we were not late to checkout. We were all frantically packing and had no time to properly gather our things. As a result, my wifeleft her shirt in the room. When we later called the hotel to ask about the shirt, they said they would call back and let her know, but we never received a call. This was disappointing, and part of the reason why we most likely won’t be returning to the Astir Odysseus.

Lovely Hotel - So Tranquil, Clean and Happy Staff

On arrival our hotel room booked was unavailable due to a conference. However, we were offered an alternative room which was an upgrade and had a shared pool which was very large and always quiet. Thank you.

There are 2 main pools, one in the middle of the resort and the other approx 30 meters from the beach which was lagoon style and absolutely massive. There were lots of sun beds available although some people put there towels down at 7am in the morning to get prime spots though the hotel had a no reservation policy. We went to the private beach everyday as had a lovely sea breeze throughout the holiday which kept you nice and cool under the hot sun. Later in the day we swam in the lagoon pool.

The beach bar served its of cocktails, tea, coffee and cakes. We were on all inclusive board so everything we wanted was available. Bar staff always friendly, smiling and wanted to help at all times.

The main restaurant served buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was of an excellent standard. Always a great variety of choice for meat, fish and vegiterian appetites. Also there were several cooking stations preparing different foods to add to the variety. The sweet and fruit choices were also plentiful and wholly enjoyable.

The Animation Team worked very hard to entertain the guests and were always so polite, friendly and made the activities they offered very enjoyable.

A fantastic 9 night stay. We hope to return.

Fantastic hotel lovely room was very clean. Service was great all of the staff work extremely hard. Food was very good. Pools were great, lots of activities for everyone. Would definately stay again. Definately 10 out of 10.
I think that men have to wear long trousers for dinner needs relaxing its out of date there is nothing wrong with smart shorts especially when temperatures were up to 35degrees. But women could wear shorts ,vests and flip flops don't get it !!!

My friend and I were in the part of the hotel which had just been refurbished and the room was really really nice, amazing bathroom, high standarts, direct access to a semi-private pool.
Main areas of the hotel were not as nice but still ok. Really it's a hotel for families with kids. Loads of entertainements and activities available so not so much the quiet kind of hotel.
Food in the main restaurant is ok but if you want organic, healthy or even greek food, that's not the hotel for you. People working there are extremely nice and always there to help.

We came here to celebrate my 30th birthday and my partner finishing his degree and also ended up getting engaged whilst we were there. We couldn't of asked for a better hotel. Nice hotel, however because we initially booked for 2 people (a mistake) the hotel charged us somewhere close to 100 euros a night for one extra person when the room could already accomodate and physically fit 3 people (2 TWIN beds and 1 SOFA). I have no issue with the notion that the room rate is based on how many adults there are, however most hotels will charge between 30-50 euros for another person IF they even charge. Most hotels I have stayed in have been much friendlier, reasonable and approachable in such circumstances and often just waived the extra charge. Close to 100 euros I personally find too expensive but the most disturbing part was the customer service approach to the matter which I found unsatisfactory

Best Resort in Greece

Excellent resort on northern coastline of Kos island, 5 min drive away from Tigaki village. 10 min drive to Kos town in opposite direction. Resort sits in the middle of nowhere, there is nothing around except grass and catle farms. What makes a difference from other places - people! Smiling and open employees, nothing was too much for Odysseus staff, with whatever request you will come up. Very well done! Resort is right place very to work up some tan, unwind and relax in decent SPA, but it might become boring if you are up to non-stop activities. Lovely and colourful exterior, spotless huge rooms, plenty of sunloungers and usual animation stuff. Had a fun during week to find anything to complain about but ended empty handed. Breakfast buffet (Greek + International) is repetitive every morning, but then again there are so many choices that one can suit his/her needs. Dinner buffet changes every day with plenty varieties to choose from. Bottom line - highly recommend to everyone looking for comfort place to get away from NW Europe's non-existent summer.

Myself, boyfriend, mother and sister arrived at the hotel very late and the reception staff were amazing they had sandwiches and drinks waiting for us. We cannot fault this hotel we were also entitled to a free 15min spa treatment with the opportunity to upgrade. Food was amazing be prepared to over indulge. Only 2 things and they are very small the gym could be doing with an upgrade or check up as some of the equipment didn't work and the rooms don't have double beds it's 2 large single beds pushed together with 2 single covers. But we are already looking to book up for next year.

Not quite what the pictures but when is it. Hotels was nice, clean and spacious. It could do with another restaurant as only one place to eat breakfast and dinner (apart for the a la carte which you can used once). Although saying this the different choice of food is really good so you never have to eat the same thing. The theme nights every night gives you more choice as well.

Pool was nice, plenty of sunbeds available but did notice it was getting a lot busier towards the end of our week's holiday (beginning of July).

Staff are helpful and friendly and entertainment is good and not too much for too long.

All inclusive included all top branded drinks, cocktails. The only thing we paid for was a bottle of nicer wine when we ate a la carte but this was only about £5!

The rooms were comfortable and cleaned every day as well as our drinks in the room fridge re-stocked. The balcony was spacious. We had 2 single beds pushed together with single covers which was a shame.

We had a lovely week here the reception staff were extremely helpful in overcoming a difficult situation with regard to having a walk in shower for an elderly lady travelling with us we can't thank them enough. The bar staff and restaurant staff were all lovely Plenty of choice of lovely food. The animation team work extremely hard and do a wonderful job. Overall the Hotel does all it can to make the holiday very enjoyable. The best rooms are the pool suites and the seafront suites.

Excellent hotel, close to Kos town

I can definitely tell everything was excellent from the beginning to the end. Staff very helpful, always smile on the face, food great and so many choices, Greek kitchen is fantastic, flexible meal times, as if you have some plans to go on trips or so and have half board it is possible to move your dinner to lunch with early notice. Hotel beautiful itself, so quiet, nicely done pool areas and see side fine also. Bus stop just around the corner, to get to Kos town takes about 15min. 2EU, back by taxi only 12EU, bikes and cars also available to rent. Internet was a bit hard to get, if there would be computers to use in a hall or somewhere, would be great, as my phone and \"tablet\" gone mad and I couldn't do anything. Other then that we had wonderful time. We highly recommend this hotel without any doubts. Thanks to all staff for such nice time and care. P.S. To get to hotel from/to airport we were using A2B service, shuttle bus - excellent and cost only 14EU.

Iberostar Odysseus did exactly what we wanted it to do - provided a no brainer holiday. I was very impressed by the efficiency of the management who responded to any queries very quickly and efficiently and always to our satisfaction. The buffet was lavish and the food of a delicious standard. The staff were helpful and friendly. The large reception area was a great area to spend the evening. Renting bikes for an excursion to Kos town was a great success, too.

The hotel delivered all our expectations. It is beautiful, clean, good food, good service. It has a small beach area with pebbles that can be painful to walk on, but the hotel installed sand bags allowing you to walk in comfortably until reaching the sandy floor of the sea and that made a HUGE difference. We spent most of our time there as the water is so clean and clear. Highly recommend this hotel to others.

I loved the service at this resort! My wife and I honeymooned here in May of 2013. From the moment we checked in, we knew we were at a special place. The staff were quite courteous and willing to extend a hand to us when we had any requests. The pools were excellent as pictured, and the location was reasonably close to Kos town, although it was not directly adjacent to much but a few other resorts. I would stay here again if we make it back to Kos!

Couples retreat

Went away to relax and unwind and this hotel made it happen. Having the choice with the two mains pools was brilliant as the pool near the main part of the hotel was relaxed and was never too busy. I would say that the buffet for lunch and dinner in the main restaurant was very repetitive so would recommend to mix it up by having the lunch at the beach Grill Restaurant And the dinner at the main restaurant. The hotel has a company where you can hire out bikes, quad bikes, mop heads, bicycles and buggy's for next to nothing money. Me and my partner hired the buggy for around €50 for the whole day and went to a village up the mountain called Zia (very quaint little village) and also drive round the otherwise of the mountain to Therma (the sea is heated by the gas within the mountain) great views and lovely experience.

Stunning hotel although not the best location

This is an amazing hotel, so much so it feels like you're escaping into a world of luxury and tranquillity after an adventurous day on the Island that could get messy. This hotel is huge and will almost cater to your every demand, the rooms are outstanding. The beds are excessive and luxurious and really make you feel very well looked after and spoilt. The decorative pools make for a very beautiful setting in the evening when the lights are turned on. Now there are a lot of positives and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Kos but there are a few downsides. The shower/bath is not really up to standard and the water flickers from hot to cold. The beach at the hotel is pretty rubbish so it is highly advised you rent a vehicle and explore the Island, The stretch of beaches around Paradise Beach is a good shout for clear water sandy beaches. Kardamaina for crystal clear stoney beaches. One last thing the eggs for breakfast are a no go, my girlfriend tried the scrambled egg a few times and smelt as though it had gone off. However the waffles 'made fresh in front of you' with nutella equivalent are unbelievably good!!! All in all amazing hotel, go half board so you can explore the Island in the day time, you can rent a moped at the hotel and to be fair they look like the newest bikes on the Island. Oh also forgot to mention they have a buffet restaurant and an a la carte restaurant with Greek and Italian theme menus. Both for half board but in our opinion the buffet won!

Excellent hotel in beautiful location.

Room and facilities were high spec, very clean and well maintained. Would recommend private pool rooms if you can afford the upgrade...these looked lush!! Previous all inclusive offers have been disappointing but we had no issues or disappointments with this hotel - we never felt the need to pay for anything that would have cost us extra. The buffet was varied and food always good quality, the salad was particularly impressive in variety and freshness! We were a little disappointed by the 'a la carte' option that we tried one night as we expected it to be more special but it was still good food and the beach front setting at sunset was lovely. Staff were all very hardworking, helpful and friendly. As a couple, we did feel there were a lot of kids around but it didnt really detract from our enjoyment. The hotel was very 'child friendly' for families. Taxi into Kos Town (recommend) was 12euros or bus runs every hour from hotel every hour for 3.20euros return (available to buy from hotel) and takes bout 15mins.

Toll, aber mit Unvollkommenheiten (eher 4 Sterne)

Positiv: Essen hervorragend, riesige Anlage, viele Pools. Privatstrand. Meistens bekommt man eine Liege an Strand oder Pool. Sehr familienfreundlich, toller Kids Club. Staff sehr freundlich.
Negativ: Zimmer in die Jahre gekommen, keine 5 Sterne wert (Fön alt, Einrichtung alt, tv alt). Bett ist ok.
Obwohl es gegen die Regeln ist, werden die Pool-Liegen von einigen Gästen reserviert. Die Liegen an sich sind auch in die Jahre gekommen. Die Familienzimmer sind in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Bühne, es wird bis 22:30 Entertainment geboten. Sicher toll für alle anderen, mit kleinen Kindern, die früher schlafen, nicht ideal.

Schönes, geräumiges und sauberes Zimmer (Executive Suite private Pool), toller Privatpool. Housekeeping, wie das gesamte Personal, stets sehr freundlich und bemüht. Umfangreiches Sportangebot, nettes Animationsteam. Bei den Liegen an den Pools und am Strand kann es zur Hauptreisezeit (bei uns war das Hotel Anfang August vollständig belegt) schon mal eng werden. Insgesamt eine wirklich schöne Hotelanlage, in der wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

Schöne Lage am Meer. Das Hotel liegt etwas abgelegen. Wenn man die Insel erkunden möchte , wird ein Auto benötigt oder man fährt mit dem Bus, der direkt vor dem Hotel hält.

The hotel is beautiful, with lovely pools and great restaurants. The beach is nice but can be tricky due to stones. On our first day, it was too windy to swim, but the sea was calm and beautiful for the rest of our stay. Beyond the stones, the water is shallow and safe for kids, with no waves. Strong swimmers can enjoy deeper waters further out. The buffet offers a good variety of food( meat, fish, pasta, pizza, fruits, sweets and ice cream). There were enough chairs at the beach and pools( second week of September). The staff was exceptional—special thanks to Lucy at reception and Anita in the restaurant. I was disappointed by the room(580), as I booked a sea view but got a partial view. After raising the issue, I was offered a room change, but the process was inconvenient. I could change only the next afternoon and was without a room for a few hours). There was no compensation, even though see view is more expensive.However, Lucy’s kindness made it hard to stay upset. I gave 3 stars for location, as there's little to do nearby on foot, and taxis can be difficult, though driving or cycling to town is easy. There is a shower room in case you stay after check out, which is well organized and practical. The staff truly elevated our experience! Well done to all of them and to the management. They are all really customer oriented. The only minus is concerning the sofa-bed. Not comfortable at all - compared with many other sofa-bed from other resorts. I could not upload fotos here

Service: von zuhause mitgebrachte Luftmatratze (Stichwort:Nachhaltigkeit) wird nicht aufgeblasen - auch nicht gegen Entgelt! Nur möglich, wenn man im Hotel gekauft hat. Service am Strand mit Getränken und im hauptrestaurrant war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Besonders die Angestellten Damen!
Innerhalb einer Woche wiederholt sich das Essen relativ oft -BBQ lunch ist stets das gleiche! Essen ist stets kalt - nicht mal Frühstückseier - weder Spiegelei noch gekochte Eier- sind warm. Kein Geschmack an den Speisen.
Terrasse könnte abgeteilt werden auch der Strandbereich, um Erwachsenen ohne Kinder ein wenig Ruhe zu gönnen und auch um in Ruhe und gepflegt essen zu können!
Großes Manko war, dass kein warmes Wasser Abend vorhanden war.
Minibar wurde nicht immer aufgefüllt, obwohl täglich sein sollte (es fehlte Wasser)

Eine schöne und grosse Anlage. Grosse und mehrere Pools und ein schöner Strand, der leider erstmal Steine hat. Wenn man erst mal im Wasser ist, einfach herrlich. Die Auswahl beim Frühstück und Abendessen im Büffet, ist riesig und für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei.
