Comfortable rooms , pleasant staff and great location. Completely spoilt for me by a draconian smoking policy which bans smoking on the balcony and on the terrace around the pool. I am disabled and walk with.a stick and do not wish to stand outside in the full sun to smoke. This is not a law, but a hotel policy and many will approve. As a smoker I want to be told before booking that rhis is the hotels policy and given the chance to book elsewhere

Room for improvement!

We stayed for 4 nights and found the room to be clean and comfortable. The only thing that let the room down was the Air Conditioning as it never worked, so had to have the terrace door open at night as it got hot/stuffy, but as we were staying on the 2nd floor it was noisy outside. We asked at reception and were told it had been switched on but takes a day or two to start working. (I think we all know this was code for we're not turning it on). Also the TV was on the smaller side.
We had breakfast and dinner included in our stay, but it was very very limited, so if we ever stayed again I would swerve this option.
The Wi-Fi was also slow, so not great for a reliable & fast connection.
The service from the staff within the hotel was good and the hotel itself was clean.

I have never put in a bad review, but I will not recommend this hotel to anyone I know. The pillows were rock hard we both woke up with sore necks, you really need to hear what people are saying, it was mentioned in other reviews. Get new pillows give us a choice of firm or soft, not rock hard. There was no air conditioning, why put instructions on how to turn it on if it does not work, you must have known because you did not even put a blanket on the bed just 1 sheet. You cannot open the window due to the noise from the bars until 3am. The fellow on check in was very friendly, but it is the owners who need to address these issues.

We came for 2 nights with the whole famoly as my newphew was getting married. Perfect location, very comfortable beds, rooms are clean and staff are friendly. Swimming pool is a little small but the hotel is 5 minutes away from the beach.
I would definitely recommend this stay.

For the price we paid it was very good value for money. The bedroom was very nice with balcony with view to the sea, but for the view you do need to be high, I would think 5th floor up.
This is very much a Spanish hotel used mainly for Spanish business people or tourists. The breakfast is very Spanish and the menus are all in Spanish. The food is ok and the wine is cheap at 5.25Euros a bottle but it is either Red, White or Rose. I do wish they wouldn't put the Red in the fridge though, you would think they would know better.

Arrived about 11pm, no problem. Large room and large bathroom on the eighth floor with veranda. Excellent views of sea, marina, mountains and the sandy beach stretching to Denia. Still wide awake so popped out for a beer and something to eat nearby. Booked room only. The restaurant was self service and offered a good selection for both breakfast and evening meals at reasonable prices so used it most days. I had a hire car and had no trouble parking outside but it was October. If you don't know the area take a satnav as there are many oneway streets.

Comfortable, well-placed hotel in Gandia Playa

Our third visit to this hotel and it's still great! Set a few streets back from the beach it's quieter at night, and if you ask for a room on the 6th floor or above you're guaranteed a sea view room and a lovely cool breeze without a hefty supplement to pay.
Breakfast is basic but plentiful, the staff are helpful and friendly, and problems are attended to quickly.

My partner and I stayed here for four nights in October. On approaching the hotel our first impression was it looked great and it did not disappoint when entering. Very efficient and friendly staff, check in took a couple of minutes and we were given keys to room on 7th floor. The room was very nice, spacious and had a very large wrap around balcony with great views. Free safe, fridge and large screen tv, the room was more than we expected for what we paid. Spotlessly clean with good beds and nice bathroom. Rooms were cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. We stayed full board and as this is a hotel geared toward Spanish guests breakfast was a continental affair, lunches and evening meals were buffet style, again Spanish style and very good, no complaints at all. We were the only English staying here at the time and were made to feel very welcome, all the staff made an effort to make sure we did not feel out of place. Hotel is surrounded with plenty of cafes, restaurants and good shopping and is only a 2 minute stroll to the beach or harbour. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has reason to visit the Gandia area and we will certainly be making use of it again.

Greta hotel with a great view

So we roll up to the hotel at around 12am at night to check-in, the reception desk was attended and check-in was quick and easy. We got a room on the 9th floor with a breath-taking sea view and the room it self was great with an en-suite housing 2 sinks and bath.

We included breakfast buffet in our booking and was pleased to see the range of things included in the breakfast buffet including scrambled eggs, toasts, cakes, fruits and sandwiches along with hot and cold drinks.

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk away from the beach, which itself is beautiful.

I don't leave reviews very often, but our stay at the hotel was very pleasant with a great sea view!, and for that, I would recommend it to anyone. There is also a bus stop close to the hotel which will take you into gandia city centre should you wish to go to the gandia train station.

*Tip*
The best way to get to the hotel if you're coming out from Gandia train station is to head out of the main entrance and keep walking until you see the road, cross the road and you'll see a bus stop marked \"Playa beach\", get onto the bus and it will be around 15-20 min journey, it will go along the beach and then beach and back around right past the hotel. If you use google maps to see exactly where you are then you can get off before you go to the beach as it passes the hotel on the left as it goes towards to beach to circle back around.

The Hotel Cibeles served its purpose - we had to stop in Gandia to see an old friend - but I would not recc this hotel really - it's barebones in terms of service and amenities. The breakfast was yuck. All cold food and commercial pastries in plastic wrappers. Even the orange juice was bad - and this, in the heart of Valencia, the orange capital of the world. Antonio at the front desk was a delight and the pool was small but nice. Location is good. That said, it was spotless. Seemed very pricey for what was delivered.

Superb location at a reasonable price.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Cibeles. We were given an excellent room with a huge balcony on a high floor, which we had asked for. Rooms are spacious,with loads of storage space. Bathrooms clean and roomy, with shower that works and consistent temperature water. The rooms are better soundproofed than usual too, which means you don't get woken too much late at night or early morning.
Clientele is mostly Spanish, families, young couples and mature couples. No problem when we went with overcrowding in breakfast room or pool area. The staff are lovely, although only reception seem to speak English.
We shall definitely go again.

This is our Sixth time staying at Hotel Cibeles Playa in Gandia Playa near Valencia
Again the Hotel met all our expectations. Good food, Hotel very clean, Great bedroom with fantastic view on the 10th floor. Staff very helpful and friendly especially Ernesto and Richard, the waiters in the Dinning room.
Clean Beach is 2 mins walk from the Hotel, lots of local restaurants,bars and good shopping in the vicinity.Plenty on street parking and Good Sunday market in the Paseo near the Hotel.

Hotel was clean and in a good location. We were supposed to have a triple room but it was a room with twin beds and a fold up bed leaving very little space to move around the room. Large balcony though so able to sit outside. Probably could have done without the noisy and lengthy bingo sessions when we were relaxing by the pool!

the hotel is very tired and needs updating. Buffet breakfast was included and was basic fare, nothing cooked but more than adequate. We were disappointed at the bar not being opened until half an hour before dinner, which was at 8.30 pm - this is a hotel the bar should be open during the day. Only water was available supplied by reception staff from the bar.

Very clean and smart. Food alright (only had the breakfast, mind). Location great for the beach. Pool was tidy in all. If you want a beach holiday and not much else then this is a winner. If you want to be spending all your time in Valencia CITY, you've made an error choosing this hotel, as it is in Gandia - an hour's train ride away. If you want a combination, which I did - then it is perfect. Gandia beach is well chilled. Gandia town is a short bus/taxi ride away and is a pleasant Spanish pueblo. Valencia trains run frequently and the view is nice on the way to the central train station. Day in the city, day on the beach. Repeat over and over. Ahh.

Typical Spanish beachside holiday hotel

Gandia is a popular Spanish holiday resort for Spaniards who like to go to a nice sandy beach and lie in the sun all day and get tanned. The hotel is only average, with basic facilities, including a small (clean) pool. Breakfast was included in our booking, and again was average, but plentiful. We only stayed here beacuse my husband had 2 days work locally. It would not be my usual choice of a beach-side holiday, as there are too many people. But there was a good range of restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel, the beach was nice (safe for children), and the water was warm. We were there in early September, and the weather was hot - well over 30 every day.

The hotel is considerably less modern and impressive than the photos suggest! On the whole it was clean and comfortable, and food good value, if only in Buffet form, and not imaginative. The location is close to the beach and harbour, but it's not a great neighbourhood. Staff are friendly and helpful, if a little short on languages other than Spanish, but it was no problem.

Not the best, but it is definitely priced well for what it is!

Although categorised as a beach hotel/on the beach the beach is some 500 meters away via two residential blocks. The hotel is also some 60 km south of central Valencia and the airport so use the metro and train -is costs less than 10 euros compared with more than 80 by taxi! The beach by the way is excellent, clean and extensive. Other than at the hotel reception, English was not widely spoken or undertaood even in the cafes and the resort seems to be favored mainly by tour groups and Spanish families.

The hotel has set a meal timing schedule and because of the afternoon siesta when everything seems to close down, dinner is not available until 8.30pm, so after lunch you will need to snack. The town itself and hotel location is relatively quiet apart from weekends when various cafe music bars are in evidence.
The hotel is a modern building and most rooms appear to have a balcony and sea or sea port view. We had a buffet breakfast each day which was part of the packeage on offer, but the choice was limited and the quality variable apart from the excellent tortilla. All other meals we took locally as there are plenty of cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance, though most offered similar snacky type food.

All in all a pleasant, relaxing and quiet place best suited to tour groups, who like beach activities and understand a little spanish.

The Hotel Cibelas Playa is a short walk from a beautiful, clean beach. The rooms were clean, AC worked, staff was helpful. Great breakfast buffet. Great views. The neighborhood had a \"beach town\" atmosphere. Not the place for a quiet, peaceful vacation, but great if you want to enjoy the food and beach and fun surrounding the hotel. The people around town were kind and friendly to us. We enjoyed our time here.

La climatisation pas assez puissante heureusement qu’il faisait pas 40 degrés à l’extérieur sinon insupportable.
On vous dit à l’accueil qu’il faudra payer les boissons dans le réfrigérateur si l’on consomme mais à notre arrivée aucune boissons dans le réfrigérateur de la chambre.

Hemos llegado a las 10 de la noche y a las 10 de la mañana del día siguiente ya estábamos saliendo. En la recepción fueron muy amables y adecuados. La habitación muy correcta, la cama muy cómoda y la ducha con mucha presión. Nuestra habitación tenía una pequeña terraza con dos sillas y una mesita. Por decir algo que me ha gustado menos, pero para gustos colores, la almohada un poco baja. El desayuno bufet fue también muy correcto. Por cierto, pagamos 68 euros la noche con desayuno incluido de un viernes a un sábado de finales de marzo.

El personal muy amable en general.Muy buen hotel, la comida excelente, la única pega que puedo poner,usamos las toallas de baño y ducha 3 días seguidos,se les pasó cambiarlas.
