Quiet hotel except for Thursday mornings

Set in a beautiful spot overlooking the lake. The village is about 2-3 miles away but don't take the car. The roads just get narrower and narrower and are extremely steep. The hotel has no lift but we were given a room on the ground floor as my husband has problems with stairs. The downside of this was that we were awoken by a table top sale being set up right outside our window by some very noisy Brits. I am surprised that the hotel allowed this immediately outside bedroom windows. Beware it happens on a Thursday morning. We booked half board but you get a very limited menu - not from the a la carte.

Amazing place 5***********

Owners fabulous and welcoming. Beds really comfy. Views beautiful. Close to a stunning village Iznajar. Already want to go back. Only thing I would change is the small caged bird which is common in Spain, heartbreaking :-( but otherwise love it here.

Great place. Fabulous location.

This is a 2 star hotel. What a surprise! The only criticisms are no kettle in the bedroom and breakfast starts at 8.30. As early risers we will take our travel kettle when we stay there in the not too distant future

Our room was okay. Only one bedside lamp as nowhere to plug the other into. A bit dark with just the one, so had to use the main light, this being very stark. Nowhere to plug things into for charging so we had to use the bathroom
The code given for wifi was misleading. There are three networks identified upon connecting to your device, however the one named on the slip of paper given by the hotel is not the correct one used for connection. We had to ask for clarification from reception.
Breakfast was adequate.
Rear ground floor rooms are not very private as windows are on the terrace right next to where guest sit. Ask for one of the higher room. There'll be a better view too.

Nice hotel ,better than I expected for the area

Was told it closed at midnight but not how noisy it would be , on the Friday night I was kept awake until 2am as they were still clearing up and the noise carried. Also wasn't t warned there was going to be a market setting up outside my room window at the crack of dawn

Friends visiting Sth of Spain

We had been recommended to stay near this village as it is quaint & quieter than in a bigger city. The hotel had a pool which was really appreciated & great views. They provided a breakfast which was great & we ate dinner there 1 night as too far to walk to the village. A very relaxing place & we were tempted to stay longer but have to see more of Spain

Nice hotel

We stayed in a double room at this hotel for 2 nights. We liked this hotel because of the friendly staff and old traditional style set around a covered courtyard. The food was good and reasonably priced and the restaurant surrounded by plants and water features was attractive and relaxing. The continental breakfast was self-service and included, bread, meat, cheese, jam, orange juice, fruit, cereal and coffee/tea.

Lovely hotel on the lake

This is a really lovely hotel situated right on the lake. The pool area is lovely, and it also overlooks the lake.
The memory foam mattress was wonderful but the pillows were not comfortable for me.
There is plenty of parking in the open car park directly in front of the hotel.
Large bathroom which at times had a very strong smell of sulphur. No shower head holder which made showering awkward.
Wi-Fi was very bad in all areas of the hotel.
The breakfast was great for those without gluten intolerances. Boiled eggs. Fruit. Juice. Cereal. Bread.
It is a 40 minute walk into the village - right to the top of the hill.
I ate dinner at the hotel restaurant which had limited choice for me being gluten and lactose intolerant. The hotel did not seem to be close to any other restaurants and I don't like to drive on spiralling mountain roads in the dark. The meal was okay at the hotel, nothing special, but the restaurant was rather lacking in atmosphere.
Noisy guests slamming doors without considering that it would be very loud in the beautifully tiled corridors.
It was nice to be able to leave the French windows open for fresh air instead of using the air conditioning unit.

Traditional Spanish style - needs a bit more TLC

Set in a beautiful location this hotel is very traditional style of Spanish which is authentic in it's delivery. Perhaps is suffering a little from lack of atmosphere as it was very quiet when we stayed and in places could do with a makeover (pool) and decor (mainly cosmetics). However the staff are very friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. We ate dinner on one night whilst their and it seemed busy with locals in the terrace restaurant on the other night. Wine is excellent. We also ate lunch which was very nice and continental breakfast is adequate.

Valentine week end in Iznajar

Unfortunately the weather was extremely cold in February, and the Hotel did not excel itself with heating, particularly in the dining area that was in the Courtyard. Probably in the Summer would be fine when you want to cool off.

We stayed at the hotel over Valentines weekend.Our room was warm but all common areas in the hotel were very very cold, little or no heating, extra layers were required in the restaurant. It would have been nice to have had 2 comfortable chairs in our room as it was large enough.
Special meal for Valentines very good, dinner meal next day not so.

Stayed 4 days before travelling to coast for a further 4 days. Hotel is peaceful, traditional and very clean. The gentleman who was always there in the mornings at breakfast was fab, nothing too much trouble and very helpful, what an asset to this hotel. Breakfast was good, fruit juice, cereal, fruit, bread ham, cheese, tomatoes and oil, tea and coffee, all lovely and fresh. We were half board and ate on the terrace in the evenings, lovely setting, its a pity the food wasn't so good, if you choose to pay they brought out a different menu with better choices, cant comment on this as we did not try it. Wonderful place to unwind and a short walk to beach on the lakeside. I would definitely stay here again.

Lake hotel

Without a doubt one of the nicest places to stay few a few days of peace and quit in inland Spain, however we did stay at the beginning of the season, and the hotel was very quiet this probably changes in peak season. The setting is one of magical beauty, with beautiful lake views, and its situation is close to the cities of Granada and Seville for sightseeing. swimming in the lake is wonderful and there are a few beach bar , within walking distance of the hotel.

Inland Andalucia - next to Lake Iznajar

Fantastic hotel, beautiful views, food good, breakfast good, rooms air con, lovely clean rooms, bit of a walk into Iznajar itself if very hot, say 25 mins but bar on way with views over lake was great with really good food too. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to try something different, very peaceful. Beach on lake with swimming and beach bar also which is only a 10 min walk from the hotel. Hotel staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble, it was a breath of fresh air staying there.

Lovely hotel in rural Spain.

We stay here often. A very Spanish experience in the beautiful Subetica Natural Park area. The hotel overlooks the lake in a valley surrounded by beautiful hillside views. Hotel staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is good. All rooms have recently been renovated and mattresses are all new. I highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful stay in a beautiful part of Spain.

Lovely rural location

We stayed here for convenience as we were providing a \"travel service\" for the mother in law so that she could stay with a friend who now lives in this part of Spain.. It turned out to be a lovely little break! The hotel is set in a beautiful location on the edge of a huge reservoir which you can walk down to and not far from the hotel is a little \"beach\" complete with beach bar which we had a couple of drinks in and went back to for dinner.. Didn't eat at the hotel as the menu didn't inspire and breakfast was pretty basic, but the hotel itself and rooms were lovely, and staff helpful and friendly. The hill top village of Iznajar is also not to be missed!!

Pero hay que tener cuidado al aparcar en las inmediaciones del hotel. porque hay una zona en una esquina que baja hacia un terreno del ayuntamiento, que esta señalizado con una raya amarilla , que no se ve de noche, donde no se puede aparcar ,prque te multan

Decepcionante. Un timo.

No es un ni de 2 estrellas. Es un antiguo cortijo muy mal conservado. Nos dieron una habitación con 3 camas separadas pero el precio si que se mantuvo como si hubiese sido una de las dobles que supongo que estarán mejor. No se puede pagar 64€ por este alojamiento. La limpieza escasa, todas las instalaciones antiguas y mal mantenidas. El desayuno muy malo también. El pueblo es bonito y el entorno merece la pena.

Wir waren bereits 2010 für 1 Nacht in diesem Hotel. Weil uns der Aufenthalt damals zu kurz war, sind wir diesmal für 5 Nächte dageblieben. Es ist sehr erholsam, das Personal sehr freundlich, das Essen und die Zimmer in Ordnung. Einheimische feiern in diesem Hotel gerne Ihre Hochzeit. Auch viele Motorradfahrer nutzen das Hotel für Zwischenübernachtung bei einer Rundreise in Andalusien.

Hotel limpio y en un bonito entorno.

El entorno del hotel era precioso, conseguimos una habitación que daba al pantano y tenía unas vistas muy bonitas.
El hotel estaba limpio, el checkin fue muy rápido y en cuanto bajamos muy amablemente nos explicaron qué ver en el pueblo.
El desayuno muy bueno con mucho para elegir y tomar.
El patio donde está la piscina es muy bonito y con muchas mesas y sillas para disfrutar de las vistas.
En general todo muy bien :)

Lugar idóneo para relax.Estuvimos 3 días , salíamos a visitar..Sevilla, Códoba y alrededores.Iznájar un pueblo muy bonito y típico de la sierra. La persona que nos atendió a la llegada Jordi, muy atento y amable.

Smukt men dyrt

Smukt gammelt hotel med fantastisk udsigt. Personalet var meget venlige og hjælpsomme. Sengene var til gengæld små, og maden i restauranten var ikke prisen værd. Der bliver lagt 10 % i drikkepenge til prisen af det samlede ophold.
