Lovely hotel overlooking the lake

We had a short, but lovely stay at Villa Maria Au Lac. We were traveling for a couple days around the lake and stayed one night here. Unfortunately for us, we arrived late and left fairly early the next morning. But we were able to enjoy a drink on the terrace overlooking the lake as we watched the sunset. Nice grounds -- there is a small beach and chairs on the lawn. Breakfast we excellent and the setting for the meals was lovely -- outdoors overlooking the lake. The rooms are slightly dated, but comfortable. Would stay here again.

Great views from the hotel over Lake Garda

This hotel was great for us. Really nice, huge room with balconies so we could get sun or shade at any time of day. Lovely garden to relax in with plenty of loungers. Right on their own bit of beach so we could swim in lake Garda at any time.

The hotel was quiet and away from the centre of the village, which was ideal for us.
All the staff were friendly and helpful, and multilingual.

The restaurant was good with a range of dishes. We tried the taster \"menu\" one evening, and since there was 2 of us we got a chance to try everything. It wasn't like a UK taster menu with lots of small dishes, but provided a choice of 2 dishes for each course.

Buffet breakfast was plentiful with a big choice, bread, croissants, pastries, fruit etc etc etc.

Wonderful lake location

We had a very enjoyable week at this hotel. The location is excellent and the grounds pretty and well cared for (with the hotel rabbit!)- swimming in the lake is very easy. Our room in the annex was large and characterful with an impressive bathroom and kept immaculately. Food was very good with a marvelous choice at breakfast; we ate once in the restaurant in the evening and were not disappointed. The staff were always efficient, attentive and very friendly.
The only negative points were that airport transfers are expensive (we hired a car more cheaply with fuel) and the air-conditioning was slightly loud (but weather was hot and it was working VERY hard!).
I would recommend this hotel as a base for touring Lake Garda- a car isn't essential but is very useful.

great Hotel on the lake

Fab location on the lake .. excellent staff (and great breakfast and beautiful views of the lake while you eat .)very polite and friendly .. the beach is non existent (one of the reasons we booked ) but you can sit in the gardens ... there is No iron in this hotel and we were going to a wedding and lots of us needed to iron and they charge a lot of money to do it..so beware take an iron if your going somewhere special..!! 13.50 is a bit steep for a few bits which take 2 mins ..!! Only complaint..! and they charge for the water in the fridge .. !!! But overall excellent ...would go again

Nice hotel if a bit past its best, room was comforbable with everything we needed..Good breakfast and cant fult the staff.

We had an enexpected storm that flooded the downstairs including our room. But the hotel staff were great they moped and cleaned straight away. With very little effecting our day. Only a short walk to places to eat and the ferry across the lake.

Great romantic get away.

Great place to stay. They have their own lake access and a small beach to sun. Do bring flip flops or something with a sole to walk on the rocks at the beach. The beds were soft and very comfortable. Breakfast had an amazing array of options and tasted good.

Second time we stay as a family here. Very satisfied. First time even got an upgrade to a better more luxurious room with direct lake view which was great. This time room was descent but more average than last time when we got the updraded room. Excellent breakfast for a hotel in Italy. Staff was very nice and helpful. Arrived very late at night and guy in the reception was very kind and helpful with everything. Also Staff at restaurant was perfect. We had dinner at the Restaurant and was very nice also. Nice garden with a rabbit and ducks for kids to play and feed. Hotel is right on the lake with great view and direct access to lake and sunbeds. Boat to cross lake with car too very close to hotel(less than 5 min drive )

Cannot overstate how good it was

We were treated especially graciously and felt pampered. We had a great view of the lake and the room was spacious. Well appointed bathroom and shower.

All of the staff was attentive to our needs, especially Aneta who welcomed us and assured that we were completely satisfied with our room. The grounds are - dare i say - palacial. And the lake view is as good as it gets. it was quiet, despite the ease of access to the main road along the lake.

The location of the hotel makes it perfect for accessing the ferries and the town of Maderno provided all we needed for a town including a large market.

Also, the breakfast was standout.

We will return if we are ever in the area again.

Right beside the lake with fabulous views

Bright, clean friendly Hotel beside the lake. Staff very helpful, food in the restaurant excellent. One of our party is Coeliac, and they had no problem in catering for her needs. Situated within walking distance to the town, where it was easy to hop on a ferry to other parts of the lake. We took a trip to Sirmioni via other towns, which was wonderful. Unfortunately we did not have time to visit the Mountains - next time!

Hotel was in a great spot. Paid extra to have a room leading to private beach - lovely views. Didn't have the best weather but would have been so nice in the sunshine. Rooms were cleaned every day. No kettle/tea/coffee facilities in room. Breakfast wasn't great. I'm vegetarian and the eggs were in same container as the bacon etc. a dog friendly hotel so don't be surprised to see them in the dining area.

Romantic location overlooking Lake Garda

Booked last minute didn’t realise transfer was not included. Phoned and emailed hotel to arrange transfer from Verona Airport and was told yes it could be done. I asked for email confirmation which did not arrive before we left London as I have access to emails on my mobile I was constantly checking to see if confirmation had been sent. We had a smooth flight and arrived 20mins earlier than scheduled. We looked for our transfer or anyone holding our name or the hotel name. We tried to ring the hotel number several times but could not get through. We decided we were not going to hang around and got a taxi from outside and paid the going rate. When we arrived at hotel the receptionist was surprised to see us and said they booked transfer and driver was at airport waiting. We told the receptionist because we did not get confirmation email, we thought one wasn't waiting so decided to make our own way. Anyway due to a misunderstanding on both sides we agreed to pay half the cost of the fare for the transfer that the hotel had booked. This was an expense we did not plan for. We were then shown our room on the lower ground which we found to be claustrophobic the French windows opened out on to two paths that guests used to walk to the beach. We asked for another room. After 2 hours we were told they had a cancellation and were upgraded to spacious room with balcony overlooking the gardens and Lake Garda at no extra cost. Thanks to Annette for upgrade we enjoyed 6 night stay.

Nice Hotel next to the lake

The hotel had a very good location for a quiet and peaceful stay. Could just walk out of the hotel room down to the stoney beach for a swim in the lake. The food was very nice for both breakfast and evening meals that we had. The room did not come with tea or coffee facilities which was a miss for the morning and evening drink. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you.

Overall, the hotel was really quite pleasant. We were booked for bed and breakfast so cannot comment on the standard of food served at lunch and dinner. Breakfast was more than adequate with a good range of food and beverages available. The overall hotel setting and rooms were clean and presentable. Being able to dine outside and directly beside the lake was heavenly.

A separate bar and a place to have evening drinks, away from staff setting up for breakfast, would be the only improvement required for this hotel. It's own private beach was excellent with watersport facilities easily available and great fun to use (paddleboards and kayaks)

The location was great with the hotel being righ on the edge of the lake. Moderna was a 20 minute walk way with bars and restaurants. Also the ferry port was in Moderna which made it easy to get around. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous hotel with easy access to the Lake. We had booked ground floor room with lake views and outside patio with sun loungers. If you want peace and quiet then this is the hotel for you, this hotel is good for your soul, a real retreat where you can totally relax and unwind the only sounds were the ducks on the lake and the water splashing on the pebbles with fabulous views of the Lake. The rooms were cleaned everyday The town of Moderna is a 15 minute walk where there are some lovely restaurants and cafes which do a tourist menu for 13.50 euros per person which is excellent value, starters, main and coffee including wine or water. Breakfast was excellent with good choice of hot or cold meats, cakes, cereals, fruits teas/coffee etc.we had breakfast outside on the terrace overlooking the lake views with fabulous weather in May. Very friendly staff on reception Annette and at the breakfast bar everyone was very helpful. There is also a bar/restaurant in the hotel but you do have to reserve a table 24 hours in advance. Distance from verona airport, 1 hour 15 mins. The hotel is situated on the main road and traffic can be very busy please take care when you exit the hotel as it is very difficult to see on coming traffic which is coming down at a speed. Definately recommend this hotel, great location hotel situated on the western side of Lake Garda with fabulous views and good clean accommodation.

Superb location

Hotel Villa Maria au Lac is superbly located right on the western shore of Lake Garda about 3/4 mile south of the small town of Toscolano Maderno, which has plenty of good cafes, bars and restaurants and is easily reached by a scenic lakeside walk. At the time of our visit (Easter holidays) there were only 3 or 4 rooms in occupation and the restaurant was closed except for breakfast. On arrival we were politely informed that limited facilities were available as the season doesn't start until mid-late April. Our room was fairly basic, with a nice ensuite, clean and had amazing views over the lake just 20 metres away. Breakfast was a good buffet and well set out. The few staff on site were pleasant and helpful. The peace and quiet was relaxing, but being so empty at that time of year inevitably meant the hotel was lacking in ambiance - it would surely be very different in a busier season.

Comfortable hotel next to the lake with lovely gar

Romm was comfortable. We were upgraded to a room at the top of the villa which had stunning views with windows on all 4 sides. It did make it a bit warm with all that glass but the air conditioning worked well! The staff were friendly and helpful. Good choice at breakfast and eating out on the terrace was very pleasant. We had dinner a couple of times and they had a set menu with 3 courses with 2 or 3 choices for 25 euros which we felt was good value.

This is a very nice hotel with private beach

We visited early September 16 and were welcomed on arrival and the hotel facilities were explained to us and then shown to our room. The hotel sunbeds were for all the clients to use however there was still the usual 'towel throwing in the early hours' and no one coming to use the bed until the afternoon which wherever you go is irritating. Our room was separate from the main hotel and the despite being very comfortable and very clean and with a view over the lake they were not sound proof and every night we were woken up by the kitchen staff clattering bins and bottles and the occupants next door snoring. On the other hand the air conditioning was great and very quite.
The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the main town of Maderno and 35 minute walk from Gargano. I was a bit concerned we had chosen the wrong spot on the lake because it seemed isolated but as we travelled around the lake visiting different towns we realised we had the perfect spot, slightly out of town but close enough to walk in. We hired a car (despite reviews not to) the traffic was fine a few hold ups but nothing like the UK. Parking is an issue and expensive roughly 2 euros an hour. If you want to visit somewhere either get there early ie before 10:00 or after 15:00hrs. This is still cheaper than travelling by ferry, we travelled by ferry (fast ferry) to Sirmonie from Maderno and it cost 27 euros one way! That said the best views of the towns is to be had from the ferry especially Limonie which is beautiful

Good lakeside location

The Hotel faces the town on the other side of a bay. Approx 15 minutes walk into Moderna. There is a small private pebble beach on the edge of the lake right outside the Hotel. Very pleasant shady gardens, good food and relaxed ambience. There is a good ferry or boat hire service in Moderna, much better than trying to use the very busy roads to get around the lake.

We had a really lovely stay at this hotel. We never review anything but we felt we had to. There is ample parking for call guests including underground parking if need be. The reception staff are really really helpful and have full knowledge of the area and suggest things to do. There is a ferry in the town of Maderno which we didn't use but it's handy to have it so near. The walk into Maderno is 15 mins away and it's a lovely little town with plenty of great restaurants and little shops.
The hotel offered a fantastic breakfast with everything you would want - pastries, eggs and bacon, fruits and cereals. The view of the lake from the terrace are fantastic.
The little private beach is seconds away from the hotel and it is so pretty there. The rooms are a great size with plenty of storage, they are clean and have a great shower and bathroom facilities - including a hairdryer! Overall we can't wait to come and stay at this hotel again. 1.5 hours away from Verona airport.

The hotel was truly magical with a lake side view room. The restaurant food was amazing and the wine very good. We opted for the set menu and was very surprised at the value for money. The hotel is about 70mins from Verona airport and costs €110 euros each way a little small print they don't tell you.

However once there you won't want to leave.

Lovely hotel near to maderno village

This hotel is lovely, clean , beach on your doorstep. Staff are friendly , breakfast simple but enough choice ... If your hungry at lunchtime you would need to walk 5 mins to nearest cafe or maderno village literally 15 mins walk not far ... Amazing views lots to do very pretty ... Hotel quiet but even my 13 year old was fine ! Go great place and I'm a fussy one !

Fantastic hotel, easy to find right on the lake.

We had 3 days at Villa Marie Au Lac. The local town was within easy walking distance and has a nice mix of shops, restaurants and cafes. The ferry to all parts of the lake can also be accessed here.
Driving is quite difficult and parking can be put down to luck. Traffic at the weekend was solid and queues lasted for hours.
We found fantastic small towns on both sides of lake Garda with narrow streets and great mountain and Lakeland views.
Overall, with the fantastic hotel and nearby towns the 3 days passed by all too quickly.

Good hotel right on Lake Garda

The hotel is located right on Lake Garda in Toscalano. Parking is available at the hotel. The town is just a short distance away; walkable, but there is a town parking lot available just up the road. Some of the ground floor rooms open onto a small private patio area and you can walk out of the room right to the lake and a beach area. The rooms are clean, air conditioned, quiet, and comfortable. Toscalano has many restaurants (La Tana is very good) and Salo is a short drive south with a lakeside walkway, shops, and many more restaurants. Be careful going out the hotel driveway, cars go fast.

Beautiful hotel with access to quiet part of lake

A little gem in a quiet part of Lake Garda. Extremely clean with beautiful views. Very relaxing and the food is of a very high standard. Would recommend booking a delux room by the lake as you have your own personal sunbeds in a beautiful garden, right next to the lake, of which you can gain access to a private little beach. Although the road the hotel is on is very busy, you do feel secluded within the hotel grounds and the views really are breathtaking. The rooms are airconditioned and spotlessly clean. The area is very relaxed. Toscalano Maderno is a quiet part of Lake Garda. The hotel has a spa and the service is prompt and polite. The hotel is situated about 15 minutes walk accross the promenade to the nearest town, in which there are a few restaurants. The hotel staff recommended a wonderful rustic italian in the hills behind the hotel, which was a spectacular experience. The location is good for traveling around Lake Garda to some more interesting and beautiful villages. Would recommend if you are looking for a relaxing hotel in a very beautiful setting.

Just returned from a long weekend here. Amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful and spoke really good English. On arrival they upgraded our room, which was like a small apartment. Views from our room were lovely. On leaving we checked out the night before due to early flights and when we handed the key back in the morning the receptionist had made us a breakfast bag with pastries fruit and water in for our journey. Would recommend this hotel to anyone

Our overall experience of the hotel was 5 out of 5. We stayed at this Hotel as it was a birthday gift from our daughter and her family.The staff were professional and extremely pleasant could not do enough for us. The room was clean tidy and the towels were changed every day. The restaurant served excellent food both for breakfast and evening meal. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. Had a lovely and relaxing time.

The location is superb, alongside the rooms, very clean and spacious. The view of the lake was phenomenal. Where they lack slightly is in service. For instance, when we checked in we were not told check out or breakfast times. At breakfast there is no welcome or offer of coffee or tea. They let you get on with it. Another peculiarity was the TV showing kids cartoons at breakfast and dinner.

Nice Hotel with fantastic view to lake Garda

The hotel i very nice, clean and with great service. The location was great, just by the lake with it's own small beach and only 10 min walk from the nearest city. Breakfast was good with a fine selection of different bread and breakfast product. I think there would be something for everyone's taste. If eating the breakfast out on the large balcony just be aware of the birds which will eat your breakfast if you turn your back to your food. The only small thing we had about the room was the bed which was very hard and not to our taste and it is well spend to chose the rooms that are by the lake side since a road i going around the back of the hotel and I suspect that some road noice will be heard in the rooms on that side of the hotel. Bonus info: Do NOT pull the string in the shower... it is not for turning on the ventilation but an alarm and the service crew will come running and knock on your door.. :)

we are so glad we picked this place! we have never been to lake garda before and wasn't sure exactly where we wanted to be but this turned out to be a great spot!. Its only a short 15 minute walk or 5 min. bike ride to the next town moderno that is full of charm and restaurants. You can also catch a ferry from this town to many other locations so it worked out great! We had a room on the lake and outside our door lounge chairs and the beach steps away. The rooms look like the pictures and were very clean. I think the bathroom could be updated in colors but besides that a great stay! oh and breakfast was amazing, if you get there early enough they have chocolate croissants! and you get to sit out on a deck over the lake! breathtaking views! i would highly recommend it!! and staff was so friendly and knowledgable!!

Idyllic setting for a fab hotel

My partner and i stayed here in June , celebrating her 40th birthday…. Wow ! A truly beautiful hotel with the most helpful staff. A free upgrade to a lake view on arrival went down a treat. The room was lovely, very comfortable and clean. Slight issue with the shower and the over flow but hey, we can live with that. The view from our room was spectacular and the grounds of the hotel are great to watch the scenery. The staff on our departure were extremely helpful to arrange our transport as it was a bank holiday. Love this place…. and we got engaged! :0)

Nice if you want quiet.

We stayed at the Villa Maria for 3 nights over Easter. The hotel itself is clean and staff attentive however there is nothing to do there at all, its a little out of he way and the town of Toscolano Maderno is about 15 minutes walk. Not much to do or see and there are much prettier towns along the lake that we visited and would have prefered to stay at such as Sirmione, Salo and Malcesine.

Lovely room and great view

Having just traveled for almost 18 hours, I thought it wouldn't matter what the room was like, but I so enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We arrived late due to a plane delay, and the staff was wonderful. They found out where we could find some food, and quickly got us settled. We had a fabulous and leisurely breakfast overlooking the lake. The only down side was the stairs up to the bedroom which made it a slow trip for me due to an ankle injury.

Extremely poor experience

Arrived and our booking had been changed without the hotel contacting us. We were told the hotel was full by the receptionist and there was nothing they could do. We requested to speak to the manager but apparently she's in Rome and is never in the hotel. She failed to call. The hotel has few staff and appears to be seriously understaffed. The advertised private beach is used by the general public who use the 10 hotel loungers placed on it. The hotel restaurant does not open for lunch so you need to drive to a restaurant or to a supermarket if you want a beach picnic. The breakfast was limited and the food was left uncovered and eg. yogurt, cheeses, meats, fruit were not chiilled. We needed to set our own table for breakfast and the hotel tried to charge for coffee (each guest is allowed 1 espresso in the B&B room rate). We did not eat dinner in the hotel but ate in Gargnano and Salo. The hotel advertises a wellness facility but despite visiting in peak season, it was closed for the duration of our stay. We would not feel able to recommend this hotel and certainly would never visit again. It is difficult to understand how it is rated 4*.

Lovely little hotel

Very nice little hotel, right on the lake front, the perfect distance from the town (you're not in it, but you can walk to it and the restaurants in under 10 minutes). Little stony beach on the lake where you can sunbathe (and swim if very brave)! Well designed hotel, recently refurbished. Superb terrace for breakfast etc with great views over lake. Only tiny quibble was design of shower which would easily leak water onto bathroom floor (and under the door). Overall would recommend highly.

Excellent - highly recommended!

Amazing location and very comfortable room. The breakfast was good, and eating on the balcony overlooking the lake is a spectacular start to ones day. After breakfast one can spend endless our on the private beach. We stayed in several hotels in this price range in Italy, and this was by far the best value for money.
The only negatives were that the bedroom was a bit small, so one could not fully open the French doors leading to the garden, although still enough space to get through or to let a cool breeze into the room. It would benefit from better soundproofing, but I wasn't woken up by sound at any point during our two night stay.

Easy access to the nearby town with a few restaurants and a supermarket, and a excellent pizzeria across the road.

I'll definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel for relaxing

My wife and I spent 2 nights here and liked the hotel overall. The hotel is big and comfortable and has an amazing private beach and garden area that are perfect for relaxing. The restaurant was okay but not great, luckily there are plenty of great eateries down the road in Maderno, which is only 10 minutes on foot plus you get to walk along beautiful Lake Garda to get there.

Good hotel with direct lake access

Directly off the street but at least our room was not noisy. Room is spacious and in the deluxe room we had direct access to the lake via the terrace/garden. Only downside was the restaurant. While breakfast was not bad, dinner was very limited and really simple and not good value for money. We did not see restaurants in walking distance so we had to drive to restaurants in the evening / buy stuff to consume in the room.

Beautiful view on Lago di Garda (Lake Garda)

The hotel was all that I had imagined; it had one of the most comfortable beds we encountered on our 17day trip around Northern IT. The pillows were the MOST comfortable. The view of the mountains and lake are breathtaking; we enjoyed breakfast outdoors on the terrace overlooking the lake: \"Priceless\". The hotel is a bit farther off the Auto Strada than I had realized and the road a bit windy--but as long as one is doing it in daylight, a truly lovely drive.

Spotlessly clean!

A lovely hotel, right on the lake! A beautiful patio to sit and have breakfast or drinks, overlooking the stunning scenery. The road was quite busy & noisy sometimes, but that didn't effect you, once inside. You need a car really, as the buses were a bit hit & miss. Taxi to Salo was 15 euro each way & great to hear all the live music in the streets in August, certain days. The hotel staff were very helpful with working out transport for us & where to go. Cheap Pizzeria over the road if you don't want to go far, but only a 10 minute walk into Maderno. Lovely room with balcony.

I'd like to give the hotel a 4.5 rating (4 I think is a bit mean, but not quite a 5)

We stayed for one week in mid June 2012 and throughly enjoyed it - very relaxing atmosphere, pleasant staff, relatively quiet location. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone just wanting to chill out & relax - if you want a lively nightlife etc look elsewhere.

It's hard not to like the place & people, but just a couple of things that could be improved:-
1. The shower flooded the bathroom floor on pretty much every occasion.
2. There was no 'daytime' food or snack menu - so if you want to eat then it's a 20/30 minute walk to the nearest cafe/bar.
3. The dinner menu could do with a couple more options - but the food was very good.

Spectacular lake-side view

We stayed for a relaxing family vacation. The hotel has an exceptional location, and is close to a small town with most necessary conveniences, including restaurants, supermarkets, gelateria and a cross-lake ferry. Views from hotel rooms are outstanding, beach access is from the hotel premises and the lake-side hotel restaurant serves excellent food. This is easily one of the best hotels I've stayed at for purely a vacation experience. I give the place less than perfect ratings for (1) spotty Internet access (2) somewhat dangerous exit access to the road adjacent the hotel. Overall rating: good to excellent with very courteous staff..

Staff were really helpful, they offered us extra eggs when we were late for breakfast and printed us a map when we took a day trip to Milan. Dinner at the hotel was convinient on our first night and the food was alright. Private beach was small but sweet.

The hotel is right on the lake and has a beautiful view of nearby Tolscano, i would recommend this hotel to couples over 40& not for single girls or guys holiday, the hotel was extremely quiet during the day& evening, the hotel did not provide a lunch service which meant you had to go to the nearby town 10-15 minutes walk for food and there was no vegetarian option on their evening menu. Overall the hotel is perfect for a completely relaxn holiday, no noise and few people around, the rooms and decor are 4 star and staff are polite.

Lovely hotel, recommended

We stayed for a week in June and had a lake-view double room. The room was clean and comfortable and had a beautiful view over the lake. The breakfast buffet was very nice being served on the terrace by the lake. As it was served from 7.30 - 10.30am there was no rush to get down to breakfast and meant that it wasn't too busy. We stayed on a B&B basis but ate dinner in the restaurant a few times. The food was excellent but the menu was a bit limited. The area is very quiet and relaxing. The town is about 15 mins walk and is also pretty quiet. It probably would not appeal to anyone looking for a more activity-packed holiday. We would definitely recommend this hotel. If booking through expedia beware that transfers from the airport are not included and it's pretty expensive to book a transfer separately. We did an extensive search and the cheapest transfer we found from VRN airport to the hotel was 180 euros (return).

Gorgeous hotel on Lake Garda

I loved this hotel and didn't even want to leave! A beautiful location right by the lake with a magnificent view. I was especially impressed that our room had two floors - on the first floor was the living room, the bathroom and the balcony, while on the second was the bedroom. There is a magnificent public terrace on the second floor and a wonderful restaurant onthe ground floor overlooking the lake. The waiters and hotel staff were brilliant! The only things I didn't like was absence of an iron and broken door of the wardrobe which was almost impossible to open. All in all, I would highly recommednf this hotel for a gateway!

great hotel

hotel was great, really clean, beautiful terrace for breakfast overlooking the lake (great views), helpful staff. We ate at the hotel one night and they had no vegetarian main course (lots of choice for fish and meat) but they made one especially for me which was great. not far to walk into tolscalno moderno and as per previous reviews, there is a walkway all the way there. we got the ferry across from here to malcesine for the cable cars up the mountain. The only way to improve the hotel would be to put it in Limone!

Fun at Lake Garda

The hotel and staff were really excellent. We were quickly made to feel at home. The evening mean was a little expensive for what it was. My friend and I tried out the public transport and enjoyed a day at a town which was an hour away by bus. The staff were willing to help with the times of transport if you asked the right questions. I would go back another time but would hire a car next time as you really need one in order to visit places like Milan or Verona.

This is a beautifully well kept hotel with welcoming, helpful staff. The views are absolutely stunning from the room windows and each room has it's own sun loungers and access to the garden for those staying on the ground floor. Breakfast is served at a reasonable hour for those wanting a lie in and has a wide range of very tasty options. The rooms and all communal areas of the hotel were kept exceptionally clean and all of the staff did their upmost to help us make our stay as fabulous as it was.

Lake Garda bliss

Stunning location, right on the edge of the lake. The view from our room was amazing from the snow capped mountains to the lake lapping on the shore just below the balcony.
Our first morning we were able to breakfast on the terrace in glorious sushine.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
