Spacious clean room, Check in was a little tedious. Nice safe walking area. Went during ferias, and the hotel was very noisy. The room next to us had a loud party until 5AM. Administration contacted them but beyond this nothing.

At the time of the registration I was told they only had one adult in their system and I needed to pay for the second guest. They printed the reservation where clearly said one adult one child 15 years old. It took very long the check in. They wanted me to sign a paper with my last name misspelled and without giving me a copy. Next day and the whole week they were asking me multiple times for a copy of my second passport (why didn’t they gather all paperwork at the time of check in) even though I told them I was going to provide it to them before checking out as I was attending my moms funeral. The staff was texting me from personal cell phones via WhatsApp very uncomfortable, unprofessional and unsafe. Front desk manager Dora was rude and disrespectful. She denied any access to any other chain of command.
Housekeeping personal and service were amazing. Front desk looked like traumatized team directed by Dora. She has no sense of respect for guest of anyone, she thinks her word is the only one. I sent a complaint to front desk management and surprise the manager was Dora and she receives and processes the complaints. Every time I passed by that front desk she was yelling at one of her employees, very negative atmosphere.
The room was very cold, it had no heater. The pillows were old and not very comfortable.

Overall good. The only issue is if you come by car indoor parking is small you may not find a space available and on Sunday’s the city shuts down the main avenue from 8-12 for cyclists

This hotel looks and feels outdated. Starting with the one-person size elevators to the lack of A/C in the rooms. The hotels need a lot more maintenance and better housekeeping. The staff was friendly and did their best with what they had. I don't think I will be staying here again.

the worst experience in my life, manager Dora Julia called the cops to make me pay for a few drinks, on the 2nd day of my 3 days prepaid trip, then she kicked me out for no reason. same cops picked me up and keep in their station overnight, released in the morning and stole my passport, new cell phone and other property, I checked in the hospital with heart attack, hospital requested my passport and called the cops to deliver it, they did, but kept my other property, I hate hotel carretero, manizales cops and the manager Dora Julia who started that nightmare ! if you want a heart attack - book this sheet hole ASAP !!!

We enjoyed the food and the buffet style meals. The views are lovely; the staff is kind, helpful and friendly. The location is excellent: one can walk to the Fundadores mall which has everything and also to downtown Manizales with its gorgeous cathedral and many other landmarks.

Front desk was very attentive to all my needs... Luisa is wonderful! She assisted me in getting to the hotel even though it was an hour away. The hotel is close to the mall and many other places of interest. I really enjoyed my stay! Breakfast is free with a limited selection of items. Eat just enough to get you through the morning because there are so many restaurants close by...

Excessive and constant noise, impossible to sleep

I was assigned room 425, facing the main street. The noise did not stop ever until I couldnt sleep anymore and called front desk. A guy was sent up to help me move to another room in the same floor. The noise from the elevator, the echo from the hallways could be hear everywhere, the TV, and music from other rooms, could be heard on the hallway.
He called down, and they told him to take me to room 605, 2 floors up from where I was originally assigned. I must admit the noise was not as bad, really was peacefull.. The downside was that the room was very dusty and even though I could sleep, I woke up with a runny nose due to allergy.

I got a good view of the city.

The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. There are computers you can use in order to use for your business if you forgot to bring one. The servers in the restaurant were helpful.

Don't be tricked by the modern, redesigned lobby and posh exterior. Hotel Carretero is OK at best. The hotel appears pretty old, from our room -- we actually viewed two rooms as they initially assigned us the wrong one -- to the dining hall/restaurant and everything else. Poor attention to detail is everywhere -- chipping paint, uncomfortable beds, dirty hallway carpet, basic linens. The front desk was always a crazy scene whenever we were there -- the attendants weren't always sure of answers and constantly had to interrupt each other's conversations to determine a group answer. Everyone is nice enough, so that's a good thing. A handful of workers spoke English and were always very pleasant. The \"spa\" is not much of a spa, with its unorthodox massage table to the cheap linens, ambience and lighting, but the massage was technically OK. We dined at the hotel's restaurant twice -- once for a late lunch and the other for breakfast. Lunch was edible, but lacked any special refinement. I ordered a chicken entree that arrived completely smothered in cream and in barely cook sliced onions. Breakfast buffet was average, and there was a decent variety. Overall, Hotel Carretero is masking as a high-end boutique with all its nice pictures and a good branding campaign, but it's really an old hotel that needs major polishing in every category.

Me asignaron un cuarto que no estaba en condiciones de ser ocupado.
1. Las cortinas estaban desprendidas en los extremos. Consecuentemente, la luz de la calle se filtraba impidiendo el descanso en la mañana.
2. El televisor del cuarto no funcionaba
3. El teléfono del cuarto no funcionaba
4. La ducha tenía un escape en el tubo superior y el agua caliente cambiaba de temperatura esporadicamente, situación que produjo momentos incomodos debido a la alta temperatura del agua.
5. Espejo de tocador insistente. Solo tenian el montaje pegado en la pared.
6. Los cuartos no tienen cafetera y el servicio de \"Bar\" en el lobby tiene una cafetera que en tres ocasiones que fui no pude obtener el servicio deseado porque no tenían cafe para moler.
7. El orinal del tercero piso adyacente al comedor tiene tanta presión, que al vacearlo, arroja una cantidad significante de agua en la persona. Me toco cambiarme de ropa lógicamente.
8. El restaurante ofrece en el menu sopa de menudencias, pero es caldo de pollo despechado y la sopa de costilla es sopa de carne pero no tiene costilla.
9. La edificación es muy vieja y muchas de las remodelaciones no demuestran un nivel alto de calidad.
10. El costo de este hotel es muy alto para la calidad de cuartos.
11. Tengo que dejar claro que el servicio al cliente en general fue muy bueno. En su gran mayoría, los empleados del hotel hacen todo lo posible por atenderte bien, son profesionales y respetuosos.

Jeg har bodd på hotellet i 1984, 1992 og i 2023. Samme problem, romdørene er skeive, for korte og har lås som bråker veldig når døren smekkes igjen.
Uansett ellers sier jo det at jeg valgte hotellet i år igjen at det totalt sett er bra. I år hadde rommet mitt utsikt til Nevado El Ruiz med en del røyk i solen.

Decepcionado por el servicio y la atención que recibí en mi estadía. Reservé dos habitaciones con camas Queen y cuando llegué no había habitaciones disponibles, nos acomodaron al final en lo que les quedó sobrando, en camas sencillas, las luces del cuarto fallaban y cuando hice el reclamo la respuesta es que eso es lo que hay. La verdad es triste un trato de esta manera. Debí armar un problema mayor para que al otro día nos asignaran las habitaciones que habíamos contratado y pagado.
