Overall a nice hotel. However, the listing is misleading. The photos make it look like the hotel is on the beach. It’s across the street. The balcony is so narrow that it was uncomfortable.

This is a lovely tropical beach resort. We stayed in a 2 bedroom pool villa for 3 nights. While the weather didn't cooperate, we still had a great time. We were greeted by a lovely bowl of fresh fruit and complementary wine. They also provided a complementary photo shoot for my partner and I which is a lovely memento of our time there. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We didn't use the main pools but they looked clean and up to date.

I had several spa treatments that were all very good, however, they didn't communicate very well with me about the services being provided and in one case they moved me into a room for my facial where another person was already getting a massage. Apparently, treatments are not all entirely private. I didn't mind but some people might. The hair wash treatment was by far my favorite. my hair felt amazing for a week afterwards.

We ordered room service a few times, and it was all very good and delivered in a timely manner. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, snacks and drinks at the beach bar, and we ate dinner at the restaurant on our last night. We enjoyed the food and all of the staff was accommodating and friendly.

There is construction going on next door to this property had we been situated on that side of the resort, it would have been an issue. It appears a very large resort is going up next to this property which may impact the seclusion we enjoyed. We picked this property for a bit of isolation and it did deliver.

I booked the biggest villa at resort, arrive around 1 pm staff told me need one hour ready. So we go lunch head back at 2:30 then the staff tell me check in time is 3pm. Second day i went golfing in early morning back before 11am but my villa still not clean up. then call front desk they said clean up time is 11am, btw they don't check up room in the afternoon. After we finished dinner head back to Villa is all dark, pool light and outdoor light NO one come to turn it on...Five star Villa don't provide body lotion and shaving kit for guest, isn't that ridiculous? I've been in Vietnam lots of Hotel Resort never see one like this, Management and Service need to be improve...definitely NOT recommended!

Resort has that beachy vibe of a Club Med from back in the 80's, but without the excessive partying. A very relaxed, shorts-and-barefeet feeling where you can go from pool to beach to bar, and charge anything (very reasonably priced) to your room. Room itself is fairly spartan, but the bed is very comfortable, and the cleaning staff is outstanding. Not at all busy when we were there, so it was easy to schedule a masage, as well as cab rides to wherever we needed to go. A well-needed respite during a month-long holiday through six countries!

Great stay here. Very relaxing and nice to sit at one of the pools, play tennis or be on the beach. I did get stung by a jellyfish, but that’s nature—the workers had vinegar ready & helped relieve the sting. Breakfast buffet was nice, but dinner was just okay. The drinks & juices are amazing. I also love their eco-friendly efforts—the straws are lemongrass instead of plastic, and they have natural bug repellants (lemongrass oil) all around the area you can use. Also many locations for you to fill up your water bottle.

The site was tranquil, well maintained in beautiful surroundings. Beach was good with beach bar, with food available . Two swimming pools, fresh and salt water, salt water is by far the better pool.

The room was very nice, the only let down was the bathroom, which needed a refresh.

It’s was quiet for Vietnam. But very expensive. Ridiculous actually for Vietnam. The beach was yuck. Pools great, rooms ok, bed brilliant, but maintenance was average. At least ten minutes to the town so you paid heavily for anything. Cost more for three days than the trip to Vietnam and the trip before to Thailand

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and the decor and quality of the bedrooms and bathrooms was excellent. The shared common room of the family suite wasn’t air conditioned, and we were too far in from the beach to get a sea breeze, so it was very hot in that room (but good AC in the bedrooms). They did give us a fan so that helped. The facilities and grounds were very, very attractive and the tennis courts were in good shape. The pool needed some maintenance work, but they got right on it when they saw the danger and fixed the problem (worn tile edges). The beach is fantastic and the WiFi was good. The food and drinks were reasonably priced, as well. Thanks again for a nice weekend, we will be back!

I have been coming here for nearly 10 years and usually come 2 or 3 times a year. It is one of my happy places in Vietnam and go there to totally relax on that lovely beach. The staff are great and the hotel has a unique setting amid gardens.

Ho Tram had an excellent position on the beach and the rooms were laid out very well around the pools and lagoons in a way that felt there was plenty of room. We particularly liked the large sea water swimming pool that was very peaceful.
We felt that the accommodation was starting to look in need of improvement. The beach bar was rather tatty. The restaurant staff were good but there seemed to be too few of them to give the level of service that we would have liked.

Grounds are lovely, but not lush- not that we really expected “jungle lush” beach is expansive with lovely soft white sand. And very private!

Bespoke feature is the saltwater pool, infinity edged on horizon side. Temperature perfect! & quiet relaxation seemed to be the etiquette adhered to by guests’ (not stuffy, just chill & tranquil)

We enjoyed the breakfast offerings & the service there, non smokers be sure to avoid outside tables, as on our visit most guests seemed to be enjoying cigarettes liberally (no judging) even mid meal.

The other freshwater pool is pleasant but small with a nice cold water therapy pool, not sure if the water slide (very small)
is a Very safe idea for guests of any height or age as it lands you into kiddie pool shallow water.

We would recommend the Asian menu offerings only in all food venues, western offerings were flavor free & tepid at best.

The outside bath/showers were pleasant & refreshing. Not luxe, but I don’t think this resort promised such, either. While there the slippery pre filled tiny shampoo/conditioner slipped out of my friends hand & we were charged for “breaking” it. The charge would of covered many a pallet of the very replaceable trinket. We did not argue as staff was just short of adamant about our carelessness.

This is a very remote location, so staff was informative about mosquitos & netting use etc etc. We were NOT prepared for rodent dropping’s in room.

The grounds are beautiful and most of the staff are extremely pleasant. However we had one dinner at the restaurant and it was very underwhelming. The table cloth was dirty and when we asked for it to be changed the waitress complained. The restaurant didn't have many of the fresh juices on the menu including Coconuts! My other issue is with the bathrooms, they have what is supposed to be a feature where the shower has no roof and you can bath under the starry night, but in reality it lets you hear your neighbor in the bathroom as if he was sitting next to you taking a dump and the mosquitoes infest the place at night and will eat you alive. Because of all of these issues I think the hotel is overpriced for the level of service it provides but it is still the best option for a quick excursion out of HCMC and will probably visit again

Property is getting run down and attitude of most of the staff along with it. We booked a one bedroom pool villa.
1. for the first 24 hours there was no hot water. An engineer came shortly after check in and informed us that the temperature was normal and left. Next day they tried the same excuse but one staff member was persistent and finally we got hot water to the room.
2. Response from house keeping and F&B staff very slow.
3. Food quality at the restaurant for dinner was very poor.
4. Beach bar is lacking any decent area to sit on the beach. The 'bartender' I don't think has ever made a cocktail before. The drinks she tried to make were disgusting.
5. We used the Spa and were disappointed. Steam and Sauna are not available except on demand. Receptionist was clueless, but technicians were good.
6. The day we left I had multiple insect bites over my arms and legs. Not sure where they came from - outdoors at the spa or from the bedsheets. There were not mosquito bites but crawling insects.

The concept of the pool villa is great, but the overall experience of this resort - for the price - is very disappointing.

Perfect getaway.

Although getting to Ho Tram is not direct unless you take a taxi from HCMC or have your own car, it is worth it. Take the hydrofoil to Vung Tau and then a xe om (if travelling solo) taxi or pre arranged pick up from the resort.
The resort is exquisite.. And makes up for the sandflies but every bungalow has herbal repellent just in case you are out at dawn or dusk.- a small price to pay. The resort offers complimentary yoga and trips to neighbouring towns. Join the staff and grab a bag and pick up some rubbish whilst you walk on the beach. Amazing what you find when looking after the environment. Maybe themost strenuous thing you do.

Beautiful nature setting in a quiet beach resort

This is a great place to relax, in traditional style bungalows and rooms. If you wanna get away from everything and just enjoy a quiet environment in traditional setting with beaches or gardens, this is the place. I really liked the Premier room because the patio was bigger and the interior nicer than the bungalows. Have also stayed in a deluxe bungalow, which wasn't much different than a normal bungalow. Much quieter on weekdays than on weekends!!!

Lots of quiet beach with many lounge chairs spread along beach under palm roofs

Nice restaurant with good selection
Friendly and helpful staff

Resort was very quiet during weekdays with only a couple dozen older Europeans

CONS:
Sloooooow internet. Better to just get a local sim card in your phone and not use wifi. Even tether your computer to phone is better than wifi.
Beds are pretty hard, not very comfortable to me.
TV is SMALL and far away from the bed.
Lots of mosquitoes. Insect repellant was included in room, but I still got many bites.
Resort was fully booked on the weekend with lots of local families and kids.

Peace, quiet and service

Quiet, secluded place! We had Lily 2 bungalow, me and my son (27), daughter (23). 3 day vaca for my kids from working. The staff was superior and did whatever they could for us. We walked the beach, played in the 2 lovely pools and had delightful meals. Thank you for a lovely vacation with my kids.

Relaxing and clean Resort

We stayed for 4 nights in this beautiful lush resort and enjoyed every moment. The western Menu on the restaurant was amazing. We really enjoyed the seafood BBQ buffet on a saturday night, very nice variety of items. The pools and the facilities were great as well.
The rooms were cleaned twice a day which we liked it very much. Only drawback is there is no much entertainment outside the resort which makes us to limit ourselves to stay inside.
the beach bar was fantastic and chilling. Definitely a place to relax.

Very average resort and we were bit disappointed. The pool was very average and breakfast spread was poor. The internet connection was very weak and at times not available in the room. Please note that there are no lotion in the bathroom so better remember to pack some. This is the first time ever a resort didn't provide lotion! Also no iron in the room or on request. They will do it for you but at a price. The manager was extremely nice so that was our silver lining. Beach was okay.

The beach is really dirthy, due to the near oil drilling plattform, so a shiny black film is on most of the beach.

If a 4 star residence id installed, almost the reception staff should understand and speak english. If not, as in our case, it was an adventure to order an airportdriver or snything else.

At least the reception mus be fluent in english.

You'll leave here wanting to return!

You'll find plenty of peace and quiet here beside a long stretch of beach. This location is great for a roadside stopover for a night or 2, a girls' weekend away, a young family or solo escape. There are no shops or cafes to browse around in the area. The resort is self-contained with beaut buffets, a gorgeous lounge for snacks and cocktails, a general restaurant and a lovely beachside cafe. The setting reflects Vietnamese culture with its beautifully landscaped tropical gardens. Staff are keen to serve and prompt with it. Their English ranges from very little to basic. Be patient. However there are one or two who can offer more in conversation. Ms Phi from the Spa Centre offered an excellent de-stress massage like our Western deep tissue.I highly recommend this resort. The website is a true reflection of what you get.

Amazing beach getaway

We had a fabulous stay at the Ho Tram Beach Resort. It's a beautiful resort, and we booked a room with an ocean view (gorgeous)! The staff were super friendly and helpful, even going out of their way to make me ginger teas when I had a stomach ache. The only thing we could fault the hotel for was that the room was too large for us (two floors!), and not the one we booked on the site. But the views were still incredible and the bed was comfortable, so we can't really complain!

Great place to escape from the city

Stayed 2 nights between Christmas and New Year. It's an excellent get away from Ho Chi Minh City. Food is more expensive than in the city, but I found the quality of the Vietnamese food very good. Nothing around the resort, so no real dining or entertainment options. Great service. Very relaxing place. I wish I had booked a third night.

Quality escape from the city. Tranquil, pristine beachfront. Good selection of F&B, with home-grown vegetables. Thumbs up for the saltwater pool.

A Charming Beach Hotel near HCMC

Nice beach with soft light coloured sand, a strong cool breeze, and rough waters (not suitable for any but surfers). Implemented in a traditional vietnamese palace style made up many small buildings, and open air public spaces. Elegant rooms with open air bathrooms.

Problems: Mosquitos in rooms and grounds from lotus ponds. One average and overpriced restaurant (great breakfast buffet). No good coffee. Clueless entertainment (e.g. endlessly looping song) at the bar. Weak and unreliable wifi and mobile phone Internet.

Just two hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City, and reasonably priced. It is a great value.

Gem in a Haystack

Everything about this place is amazing. Rather than a resort, it feels like a little village just for the hotel guests that makes it a true getaway from the city. Hotel provides a lot of activities and events where guests will have plenty to do as there isn't much to do outside of the resort. Salt water pool is fabulous a place to relax, read, and take a dip in the water.

Although they only have one restaurant, their menu is a novel so there are plenty of dishes to choose from, which everything we've tried was great.

The beach was very nice, and much of the architecture was very beautiful. The diving distance convenience to Ho Chi Minh City makes this a great place to go with larger groups for quick getaways from that city. But some of the rooms, especially the more expensive ones, are not particularly well implemented. For instance, the beach from villa has an upstairs bathroom with a window looking right down into the bath and toilet of the downstairs bathroom, making the two bedrooms useless except for very intimate groups who don't mind a lack of toilet privacy (perhaps a family with children). Bathrooms are open to the air with air conditioning units place right at that opening --- hardly peaceful.

In the middle of nowhere

Hotel's landscaping was nice, it was right at the beach. It has beautiful pool and friendly staffs. The problems we encountered were: Too far from town, food was very pricey and not that good, there were too many Mosquitoes even in the room. This place may be more suitable for outdoor people, but not for us.

A beautiful place on the beach. It's quiet and perfect for a relaxing break. Even with a large group of children that were having a weekend meeting there, there are enough places to go to to get some quiet time. The salt pool is very hot! The pool is lovely and the beach is beautiful although there is litter and it would've been nice to see the beach cleaned a bit more.Comfortable rooms with an outdoor element - really lovely.

The above comment is true. Beautiful gardens, landscaping and architecture - very open with the friendliest most accomodating staff we have encountered yet. Might be a little out of the way but so so worth it - do it! Also they do cater for childeren, play pen, seperate pool with small slide etc. and the resort is still so quiet and peaceful.

Hidden paradise!

This resort was simply exquisite! The perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of daily activities and travel. Nestled among the piney shores of the China Sea, this hotel was such a wonderful location. Simple, yet impeccable immenities, made the stay relaxing and restful.

A very relaxing hotel, right on the beach. It's very quiet and there isn't anything nearby. The rooms are excellent and the staff were amazing. I know it's a fantastic hotel but the charges just for water were pretty high. But I would go here again. A great weekend getaway from Ho Chi Minh.
