I’ve traveled all over the world, and every time I visit San Luis Potosí, this is my top choice. The place is stunning and full of history—truly one of a kind. The staff is exceptional: attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Great food is just a short walk away, and the VIP parking service makes everything effortless. Just pull up to the front, and they take care of the rest. The interior of the hotel is breathtaking, and the overall experience is consistently outstanding.

Hotel is nice just make sure you have a lot of patience when it comes to find someone to order food or a drink. Other than the bed, all other furniture tables and chairs are old and springy and not comfortable. I don’t look for any modern conveniences.

The staff was AMAZING!! They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! They offloaded our luggage and carried it to the room for us. They gave us a tour even though it was just our family and we needed it to be quick since we had a plane to catch. I wish I would have gotten his name, one gentleman helped get our luggage back to the car and let us feed the horse. The hotel is so beautiful and well worth the money to stay at. Easy to walk to many squares in the city center. I would definitely stay there again. Only suggestion I have is to put a trash can in the bedroom. The tiny one in the bathroom for toilet paper isn’t much for a family of 4. The bedroom needs a trash can for room waste. Other than that, it was very comfortable!

The Hotel is clean and the place is beautiful. Restaurant offered good food and service. Staff is friendly. My two complaints are as follows. 1, $250 dollars went missing from my room and the front staff and hotel security person were not apologetic, helpful nor seemed to care. 2, on the Saturday there were several wedding photo shoots inside the hotel which made it uncomfortable to enjoy the lobby. At night they had a quinceañera Party with loud music. I asked the front staff if that music was going to go on late because my groups had an early wake up. I was assured that the event would be over at 12:30 sharp. I felt more at ease after being told that. Well it was past 1:30 am and the loud music still continued. This hotel has no respect for its guests and after the party finally ended the young teenagers from the party who were staying at our hotel were loud , running around and it went on for a bit and hotel management allowed all this. In the morning when it was brought up to hotel staff they again did not apologize nor did they seem to care that we couldn’t get a good nights sleep. For the amount of money we paid for the room the service and respect from the hotel staff is insulting. I suggest staying at Hotel Progreso.

Fantastic Historic Visit to the prior Palace

Just an incredible Historic Place! Overall very nice 😊. We were on a short mini vacation, so the only schedule change was that we scheduled a hotel tour for 11 and ended up getting the tour over 2 hours later. Only there 2 nights and they didn’t replace the towels during the one room cleaning.

A Royal Stay - You Will Feel Like Nobility

The Hotel Museo Palacio de San Agustin is an amazing place to stay. It is truly a palace-museum, with wonderful works of art and lovely furnishings. The rooms are spacious, lavishly decorated, with bathrooms with modern utilities, yet graciously decorated. Each room is different, with furnishings gloriously curated to fit the color palette and history of the individual for whom the room is named (note: there are no room numbers; each room has a name). The service staff is top-notch, always very attentive. Many of the rooms have a small balcony; all rooms have a modern safe, a European-style coffee maker, and are loaded with wonderful toiletries. As a guest, you are entitled to take the one hour tour of this amazing palace, including visiting the library on site, going to the chapel that is located on the Palacio's top floor, the rooftop balconies (yes, there are 2 of them and great for sunset pictures!) as well as of the underground cave that has a wine collection as as well as a large dining location for private functions. There is more to this tour, but I do not want to spoil your surprise - as there is another building across to the Palacio that you will also visit as it is owned by the Hotel's owner. As a world-traveler for the past four decades, I have never encountered such a lavish and stunning hotel, and I have stayed in numerous 5 star hotels. In my opinion, the Hotel Museo Palacio de San Agustin is the most beautiful place to see, visit and stay in San Luis Potosi.

Don’t Order Wine

The hotel is like a museum and we were very happy with our room. However we were there 5 nights and the floor was not vacuumed or mopped once. I purposely left a piece of paper scrunched up on the floor to see if the maid picked it up but was still there after the room was cleaned. The breakfasts were good but under no circumstances should you order any alcoholic beverages. They don’t have a wine list and we ordered a bottle of Casa Madero 3V which is between $650 and $780 MP at any other restaurant, and they charged $1600 MP. When we went to order another bottle, they had no more so brought a replacement. When we got the bill the replacement was listed as $1799 MP and I pointed out to the waiter that the bill was added up wrong and should have been 1000 pesos less. He took the bill away and came back with the same total - he had added 1000 pesos more on to the second bottle of wine. I googled the bottle and it sells for $660 MP in the store so to charge $2799 is robbery - the equivalent of $170. Canadian and the wine was not that good.

The hotel is a 17th century mansion, and is nothing less than spectacular... it's actually better than the photos. It should go without saying that it is clean and well-run. Do take the hotel tour, and visit \"la cava,\" the underground suite under the street. Mighty impressive.

From the moment we entered the public parking they had notified the hotel, when we entered the reception was both kind and courteous. The place was absolutely beautiful and it was clean. The rooms where also clean and the beds where comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and the shower and toilet worked really well. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a place to stay that is both beautiful, has historical value, and has nice rooms and good reception.

Truly beautiful hotel with an excellent and accommodating staff. Valet was waiting out front of the hotel to park car (free) and take bags to room. Easy check in. Make sure to take the tour of the entire hotel, tunnels and building across the street. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was great as well.

I do not recommend this hotel at all...

One of the worst service ever. The location is in the middle of complicated downtown. They do not have space to get into the hotel, basically you are on your own ones you get there driving. Room is clean but looks very, very old since is a thematic hotel. I do not recommend this hotel neither for the service or the location, both issues make me not to comeback or refer this hotel.

Fabulous hotel in Historic Center of SLP

San Luis Potosi is a beautiful historical city. One of the best sights is the Hotel Museo Palacio San Agustin. Staff gave us a tour of the hotel highlighting historical furnishings in a completely restored old palace originally used by the Agustinian Order (there is even a chapel). The dining was very tasty and presented beautifully. The entire staff was outstanding. We hated to leave!

Enjoyed our stay immensely. Situated in the historic center of SLP allows you to walk in every direction to restaurants, museums, shopping and nightlife. We used UBER to drive us outside of the historic area. The hotel itself is stunning. You are transported to another era the minute you walk through the hotel doors. Antique furniture, floating staircases, chapel, underground passages. Our first stay was for four nights and then returned for another three nights. Both rooms were clean, very comfortable and welcoming. The staff were always more than helpful. Always ready and willing to assist with any question we had. I would definitely return to San Luis Potosi and certainly stay at Hotel Museo Palacio de San Augustine.

This is, truly, a Museum.

I have never ever, in 40 years of travel, stayed in such a beautiful hotel. It has less than 30 rooms, everyone a work of art by itself. A similar hotel in New York, Paris or Rome would cost you over a thousand dollars per night.

My wife and I and 4 yr old son stayed Thursday night for a brief stay in San Luis Potosí. We were very well received by the front desk with a freshly squeezed juice of our choice in a flute glass which was nice. We arrived early and offered a room that was beautiful but was a littlesmall for what we had in mind so they offered a larger room without a problem. To our surprise the room was even more amazing. Details to restore and maintain the hotel are fantastic. We looked around the hotel but did not have time to take the free tour or dine at their restaurant - we regret that, but for sure the next time. We want to thank everyone there and look forward to coming bank to my home town and staying at this BEAUTIFUL hotel. Thank you
