The hotel room was very accommodating with a full kitchen, jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and balcony. The restaurant food was fair. The female clerk at the Legend’s Golf course was not friendly and very rude. We chose not to golf because of the way we were treated.

Overall a really cool spot. The hotel is immaculately clean. Beds were comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. There is a lot to do outside of just golfing.

My only complaint is that our hallway smelled of cigarette smoke. Every room has a balcony or patio. You could tell people were on the balconies smoking. Our room didn't smell or anything like that so a very minor issue.

The entire building, including the room, needed updating and/or maintenance. It felt like there was absolutely no pride in the property. There is no breakfast included, the ice machines are remote and in disrepair. We reserved a lake view, which turned out to be a noisy pool view along with a distant lake view. A nice balcony was included, along with screaming kids from the pool, and no internet once you went out the slider. The room’s furniture needed to be replaced, and since there was no desk, counter space and seating was very limited. Unfortunately, there aren’t many options up there so they still pack in the people and apparently don’t have the time or need to renovate.

The views are beautiful, the room was clean. However, the hotel needs to be updated, the halls were musty. Getting to our room was confusing, we had to go up and down several sets of stairs to get there. No elevator to get to rooms. They must be short staffed as they offered no cleaning service during our stay, the trash was overflowing, but they still had an envelope asking for a tip. The coffee shop employees are just rude. It was just ok and we wouldn't visit again. Overpriced for the experience.

I enjoyed my mini weekend getaway, 3 nights. I booked thru expedia and daily maid service was included, however upon arriving no cleaning service. This was my only mini getaway and such a hassle of calling to get trash removed, change of towels, not having wipes to clean bathroom. However i loved the resort, the indoor pool was great since we had rain, restaurants were good, a little pricey. Breakfast was average to hotel breakfast, they did have omelet station, but they took a long time. I ate there only once .

Would I return, yes. However, checking about full service. I traveled with my family of 4. Rooms were a good size, comfy, fridge, microwave . 18 min drive to Torch lake.

Very disappointed in my stay. The hotel is very confusing to get to your room. My room was located right behind double doors and it made it very noisy for people going in and out. Hotel is very outdated and needs some updating, the WiFi never worked for me as well as the game room connection was very slow. Pictures of the pool appears way bigger then it was I only used the outdoor pool once in my three night stay as it was very packed. The restaurant in the hotel was very slow and food was ok. The staff for the restaurant was very unpleasant my guest didn’t enjoy her food and is very non confrontational and she was looking at the waitress hoping she would notice she didn’t touch her food and she came over and very rudely said did you need something? We told her that she didn’t like the meal and said just said ok and walked away. We made it once to the coffee bar that was available and the staff there was rude as well. I went to pay with cash not realizing it was cashless and the cashier very rudely goes cashless and I didn’t understand her and she repeated it, there was a much nicer way of saying it. The people cleaning rooms were very noisy slamming doors which wasn’t ideal when on vacation and trying to sleep in. Overall I would not stay here again,

Our room was comfortable for 2 adults and 3 children. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. The hotel seams a little dated, could use some upgrades. We were on a weeklong ski trip and this was only one of our stops, so we had to bring in a lot of items that we would need later due to the extremely cold temps. Although they have hand carts, the rooms are not all on the same level, so we had to stop and carry items to our room. Just an inconvenience. Overall We liked it.

We had a lot of fun at Schuss Mountain/Shanty Creek with the ski resort and the tubing hill at Lakeview Hotel. There was lots of snow. However the hot tub was not working the 2 times we attempted to use it and the restaurant did not serve anything at lunch time for the guests.

We stayed for an evening. Some reviews were speaking of being outdated and windows being dirty. Others were from people who had a great experience. Our room was a smidge outdated but was fantastic. Very clean and i liked how it looked. I didn't see any stains so for its lack of upgrades it made up for it with cleanliness. The windows could have used a spiff up but man, its ALOT of windows. We enjoyed it. We would return when its warmer for outside experiences as well as skiing this winter. And every single staff member was great. Very friendly. Thanks for a good time.

The room was quality was poor with a damaged front door and a broken lock on the patio door. The room looked and smelled outdated. The shower drained so slow. We had to shower extremely fast to not stand in the 3-4 inches of water. We let the front desk know, but nothing came of it. The whole stay, there were dirty glasses sitting on the hallway floor outside of what I would assume was a utility closet.

The Lakeview Restaurant seems like it’d be a fine dining experience, but it is not at all. The table we were sat at had fries and mustard stains on the floor.
The food that was being brought out to tables looked cold. The cocktails were great, but the menu was not very appealing. My wife and I decided to just finish our drinks and drive 40 minutes to Grand Traverse Resort and dine at Aerie, which was an actual high end restaurant. (Worth the drive)

The best thing about this place is the golf courses. Best of all, they’re public, so I’d recommend staying somewhere nicer for what you would spend to stay here and book some tee times.

Enjoyed our stay with two kids, ages 2 and 11. Room was nice, balcony was a bit shaky and might need a little maintenance. Restaurants on site were nice, a little pricey but peaceful place. We lost power in the middle of night due to storms but generator kept hall lights and bathroom light on. We weren't inconvenienced much. Breakfast buffet wasn't the best- opt for the Starbucks on site. We loved the outdoor pool!

The facility is dated and could definitely use some improvements, but that would not deter us from staying here again. Bonus, there's a Starbucks in the hotel.

Our room was very dirty. Stains on the walls and curtains, bugs in the sliding door track. Our dresser drawer , wouldnt stay shut. Same with the nightstand drawer. In the closet , the pipes were all exposed and not attached to the wall. Dirty and wouldn't trust putting my clothing in there. Restaurant , had a very limited menu. Did not offer a continental breakfast. Breakfast onsite was $20 a person. I would not recommend staying at this hotel

I have to be honest. The photos make this place look amazing. It's fairly outdated and the cleanliness of the overall property was pretty disappointing. There are all these windows and they are dirty - not just like water spots from rain but just filthy from not being cleaned or maintained. The place itself is outdated. The elevator takes forever and I can't exaggerate it.

One of the days we were here someone had vomited in front of the loading area. I told someone at the front desk at around 9 am. I came back around the same way later and the vomit was still there at 6 pm. It was horrible, and I couldn't believe they hadn't taken care of it.

The room was OK, but the toilet stopped working in the middle of night, which got rather nasty before we could alert housekeeping about it in the morning. It should have worked from the outset, as we did nothing to cause the problem. The bar closed at 9:00pm - too early for us, having returned to the hotel from dinner. The restaurant wasn't open for breakfast - only the coffee bar was, which was disappointing, as we had a drive ahead of us.

They recently updated their lobby area & it looks very nice & the rooms are clean, bedding clean & comfortable. There is a smell when you walk in the lobby of it being old & musty & the hallways are dingy & tired but it is the only hotel in the area so there’s not much of a choice. Staff is excellent & super friendly so that is a huge plus & outweighs the negatives!

Funny review to make, but the doors on the property are all weird. Our room door requires that you lean really hard on it to lock or unlock it. Balcony door handle totally broke off. Stairs doors were sticky…

Overall room was very comfy. Bushes below our balcony were full of trash- kind of gross.

We were only there for one night. We were in the area for a wine tasting & quick getaway. We didn’t use the facilities offered. We ate off property because the restaurant reviews weren’t great. The room had a beautiful view, was very large and comfortable. The decor was very outdated, the bathroom needed an overhaul, kitchen was from the 70s but it was spotless. I’d recommend this property but just know it’s older.

The parking lot i front of our room was being redone… know one told us on Friday that this was going on at 7:39 am Saturday morning out side our window. But we book a lake view room room and where told again because it’s was a second party booking that we get parking lot so we paid extra to have a view of the garbage. $600 for a week is not worth this ask for a refund got $100 back 🙄
