The room allotted to us was not what we needed. We requested a room with a shower and easy access for my husband who is disabled. The room we were eventually given was very small, so much so that the right hand side of the bed was inaccessible, the bathroom was extremely small and poorly lit, it was also too far from the lift. We walked out and found a hotel nearby which was cheaper, of far superior quality and perfect for our needs (walk in shower, high bed, plenty of space). Within 10 minutes of us leaving the staff took full payment including taxes. What a nerve!

Nice chalet spoilt by reception issues

We took a chalet outside of the hotel, it was ideal for our two small dogs. The bed was very comfortable and the patio was great for a glass of wine as night drew in.
The room was clean and the bathroom was spacious.
Unfortunately, the reception was poor and I spent two occasions standing in a queue for 15 minutes, not ideal after driving for ten hours. Unable to reserve a table in the restaurant until 8.30pm, again too late after starting our journey from the UK at 4.30pm. I assume that tables were not available as there appeared to be a coachload of cyclists in the hotel. No room for the ordinary person !!! We have visited this hotel on several occasions on our route to Spain and this was easily our worst visit.

I didn’t have a great experience. The room was okayish, but not spot on. The food was not good. My octopus was half burnt, the children’s burger was still breathing and my husbands burger was cooked too long. At check-out at the desk they let me pay the stay again even though I already paid on Expedia. I’m still waiting for accounting to refund the money.
All in all an awful experience… I wouldn’t recommend staying there.

Very comfortable and accessible. Nice restaurant . Would be put off coming back if the very large security deposit (€177) was not returned promptly. This was in addition to the room and meal charge and no deducted on check out. This was not explained at the time we checked in, nor were we given a copy of the form we signed. Think this is excessively cautious and means a big initial outlay for a stop off - particularly when they say it may take a week to come back. Very limited tea and milk in the room and unable to give us more.

Ideal for an overnight stay

The chalet accommodation is ideal for us and our two small dogs as we do not disturb the hotel guests if the dogs want an early morning toilet.
The food in the restaurant was very nice but an “over the top” bar tender added farce to a lovely evening.
We have stayed in the chalets for the last two years but no maintenance work has been done on faulty door handles and toilet flushes.

Brilliant stay in a hotel close to the motorway

We had two small dogs with us and we were allocated a chalet opposite the hotel. This was ideal as one of our dogs was a puppy and needed to wee about 4am. We could take him straight out of the door instead of walking down a corridor, using the lift and probably waking other customers. Excellent

Stayed for one night to break up journey between Cherbourg and Dordogne. Great location for this, just off the motorway. Nice communal areas. Breakfast was ok - a bit limited in choice. Room was comfortable - our only complaint is that the doors opened onto a small balcony which overlooked a flat roof with the ventilation unit from the kitchen on it - which was noisy and pumping out cooking smells - so we had to keep the doors closed, despite the warm weather.

Lovely place in the woods. Staff are great.

Turned up at the hotel after a long journey and was met by a lovely lady on reception (Kate, I think). She checked us in and booked a table for dinner for us. No hassle at all.
Room was great and very quiet, they are also very good with dogs.
Dinner was really good as was breakfast.
We will be staying again, in fact I am going to book again for our return journey back to the UK.

I have stayed there on my way to and fro from my house in Carcassonne for the last 4 years at least a couple of times a year. I think the standard has decreased in this time. Also, it was very disappointing that the restaurant is not open on a Sunday. For a hotel to offer zero food seems unreasonable. Especially as most people are breaking long journeys and don't wish to get back in the car to go in search of a meal and find somewhere open. The places recommended by the concierge were both closed.

The hotel is allright, located in a quiet wood, near the major roads.
The park in which the hotel is really lovely and there seems to be a nice swimling pool (not.opened at the time of our stay).
The room comfort is decent.
Cheap bathroom with separated closet for toilets. Our main deception came from the fact no one cleaned the room and changed towels during the day. We expected at least that someone would come and fold the sheets, empty the garbage etc...
The breakfast buffet is really good though.

Hotel is in a very good location to get on and off N10 and parking is free. The room is nice but the bed was very uncomfortable and I had the worst nights sleep. Had paid for a king size and it was 2 single beds pushed together.
The breakfast was very poor but only because it was not replenished as no staff around, by 830 am there was no hot food left or plates , cups etc. I mentioned this at check out but no one was interested. The restaurant is closed on Sundays. We had planned to eat there that evening ( one of the reasons I booked this hotel) as we were arriving late, however I received an email after I had booked to tell me it would be closed that night. Would not stay there again.

Outside looks a bit run down but inside isn't . Good sized room for three of us with extra proper bed for my son which was great instead of sofa beds! Bathroom had walk in shower which was lovely and separate toilet. With the temp at 40 degrees so pleased to have air con Because of Covid had to ask for extra pillows and hospitality tray but all delivered so no problem there. Staff really helpful.. Pool a reasonable size - mainly full of children! Evening meal was excellent although a little pricey. We didn't have breakfast . Booked very early so got a really good price for the room .Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel from the main road looks rather dated, but the reception area, hallways and bedrooms were all more modern, so don't let this put you off. The restaurant seemed busy in the evening and provided a lovely breakfast, again in a modern setting. The pool was a bonus, and the grounds that the hotel were in were lovely and aparantly they are looking at putting what I assume will be a mini golf(or possibly a full size golf course.. Which could be feasible as the land is extensive)

Disappointingly we were told the room had free wifi but it wouldnt connect for longer than a second or too before dropping out. Also there was no privacy in the shower as there was no door which would be awkward if sharing with a friend rather than a partner..

A welcoming and comfortable stay

Our stay was a comfortable one as both us and our two small dogs were made to feel welcome. The room had a very comfortable bed ,and the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent , as was breakfast. Our dogs were allowed in the restaurant as long as they were quiet. The location was good for our onward journey into Spain on the A10. Two minor negatives were that the room only had a shower and , at breakfast, there was a long delay in refilling the bacon bowl in the buffet. I waited over ten minutes before giving up. The hotel is in need of an external paint as it looked shabby, a shame as it is in beautiful grounds.

Recommended for an overnight stop

Stayed for an overnight stay on the way to Bordeaux. Hotel is conveniently situated just off the A10, but is not at all noisy, set within a small area of Woodland. It's not much to look at from the outside but the room was newly refurbished, spotless and comfortable. Restaurant was good albeit felt a touch expensive. For the summer months it had an outdoor bar area set amongst the trees (which was very 'shoreditch') and also served tapas style dishes along with drink. Also had a small but appreciated pool. I wouldn't spend a holiday here but for an overnight stop en route somewhere or for a trip to futuroscope it was ideal and for the price very reasonable.

We were disappointed with how tired the hotel is and our room whilst clean and a comfy bed had bleach stains on the carpet and all sorts os marks everywhere, the place is in real need of updating. The restaurant was really well appointed but the staff rushed us through our meal so fast I hardly noticed, the food was nice though. Also annoying, I asked for a gin and tonic, saw there were several on the menu and was not asked which one I wanted, they automatically brought me the most expensive one on the list...
The grounds are nice but both inside and outside this place needs a refit.

Convenient comfortable hotel near the N10 and A10

This was the second time we stopped here in a family room on our way back from the South of France. The room was perfect for a couple with 2 children. The staff were all helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The children loved the pool. The only slight downside was that the room was near the outlet for the kitchen vents so those with an acute sense of smell could slightly smell fish.

Best we've stayed at for space, hotel grounds etc really good if travelling with children as it also has a pool, we have tended to be closer to Auchan south of the city but this will take some beating.

Ours was an overnight stop-over on a Sunday. Greeting at reception was good and informative, the initial impression was that the public areas were very tired and in need of a refurb and decoration. Our room (217) was a similar condition, although the bathroom (no toilet) looked to have been recently re-tiled the shower curtain (dated) had mold around the bottom. The toilet was in a separate small room with no wash basin. They could do away with the bath, fit a shower cubicle and then a toilet would fit quite easily into the room - not a lot of thought needed. The restaurant did look well presented but offering food at Paris prices - being a Sunday most restaurants in Poitiers are closed so they have a captive audience, there is no bar or snack menu. The pool was an added bonus but there were insufficient sun-loungers for the number of people there (8 loungers max - 15 to 20 bodies). The grounds are extensive and its a lovely setting, the staff we encountered were good, polite and efficient - just needs a good make-over. Would we stay again if in the area........? Not sure.

Comfortable but some maintenance required

When entering the hotel a pretty awful smell of old sweat and dried beer comes your way, once used to it, comfort of room and quality of bed compensates a lot.
