The checkin was really unprofessional, nothing was prepared, all data had to be filled out again on paper, the staff was absolutely not welcoming. They did not even inform me about a 25 EUR early checkin fee upfront.

They gave me a room right above the smoking area. It smelled and was noisy.

At the checkout they claimed I had breakfast. Never did and never ordered it. The front desk staff was not welcoming or friendly at all. Not what I expected at this house. Poor!

Good hotel choice for Gera

Not exactly in downtown but some 12 minutes away walking. The hotel is average, with nothing to complain about. The free breakfast buffet is above average for similar German hotels. There is a paid parking structure and free parking outside or on the street.

Dining options were limited but quality of food was very good and generous. Excellent breakfast buffet. Room was quite big but appearance and amenities were only average. First reception associate was very rude, refused to check us in, claiming that room wasn’t ready. She completed check in with other guests though. After waiting 2 hrs sitting in the lobby, the next associate checked us in with no problems. Very strange behavior.

Novotel Gera is a very modern and nice location to stay in the streets of the old houses in Gera that reminded a bit to the streets of London from their style. It was a comfortable room with a clean shower room, unfortunately nomore a swimming pool inside instead of it a fitness room as I got to know. There is a little nice terrace beside the Hotel with a Restaurant to drink or eat something during the stay. The Hotel was really a beautiful modern Location in Gera and very near to the Station, Museums, Theater and open air concert Location. Thanks for this nice stay for one night in Gera.

The room I had had a separate lounge area and a tiny kitchen unit. It was spacious and quite comfortable but the room and the hotel in general had no atmosphere. The decor feels old fashioned and slightly depressing. This was fine for one night but I wouldn't choose to stay here again. Room service was extremely limited so I went out to a restaurant nearby. There are a couple of restaurants near and a supermarket so that was handy.

Gera in the rain nice pool

a rainy day here on a stop over before the trip back to the uk. The facilities are good nice bar restaurant and pool with sauna. The room though has no aircon so was a bit too hot to sleep even though it was raining outside. left the windows open and the trams kept us awake but excellent value including breakfast and easy to park in underground car park. Top Up with food from the Netto next door for the rest of your journey.

The hotel is pretty good. Location close to downtown but not both , is a quiet area . Breakfast very good . The only comment is that the proportion of the room with the bed is not aduacuada in size and location. Good WiFi and can park for free.

incredible comfort and service close to the centre

we have stayed here twice now, each time between 3-5 days, with our 17 year old daughter and my parents (68) have also stayed here.

The purpose was to combine business and pleasure and visit the city and family and it was the ideal place in Gera to stay at.
The booking through expedia was cheaper than the rates with the hotel directly and booking was easy and efficient.

The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, helpful and open to any questions we had about local transport etc. which was so useful to make a short stay comfortable and effective.

The breakfast buffet was a true delight and there was nothing left to be desired, the coffee was excellent and being able to make your own waffles in the morning was a dream!

In the evening we often sat in the garden area of the restaurant under a large tree and watched the sunset. Th selection of wines has something for everyone and the food is absolutely amazing. An artistic feast for the eyes and a fusion of traditional and modern, inventively combining flavors and textures. The restaurant staff were also outstanding in their service, courteousness and friendliness and their ability to advise on food and wine and also ito accommodate small unconventional requests. With multicultural and multilingual staff present, any guest will feel welcome here and we certainly did. ***** well deserved.

The hotel offers a convenient overnight stop if you are making a long journey with young kids. It offers spacious rooms, and catering for children. There is also a swimming pool to keep them entertained and to let off spent up energy after a long day in the car.

Good, clean and efficient hotel with parking

I enjoyed my short stay. I stayed in an executive suite which was very reasonably priced. This included a free minibar and Wi-Fi. The beds were comfortable, and when I asked for the bedding to be changed as I am allergic to feathers, they were very efficient in the change over. The restaurant was serving a \"Buffet\" style dinner which had a good range of salads, hot dishes and desserts. Even though it was not \"Fine Dining\" for 19 euro it was very reasonable. The parking was adequate, and the general appearance of the hotel was good.

A good stopping off point in our journey to Berlin

We found the hotel very conveniant as it was about halfway between Munich & Berlin. Gera was also a pretty and worth exploring. The hotel was clean, large rooms, good service by staff & had safe off street parking.

Der var ikke plads til 4.
Hotellet var ikke opdateret og virket som om det mangle en kærlig hånd.

Die Zimmer waren nicht gereinigt. Reste des vorherigen Gastes waren in der Toilette zu sehen, Haare an den Fliesen und auf der Matratze. Die Dusche war nicht richtig gereinigt, sowie die Fronten der Schränke und der Boden.

Kein Verantwortlicher im Haus - Manager in Duty gibt es wohl, der war aber nicht da. Den Frust muss das Personal aushalten.

Das Zimmer wurde trotz „Nicht-Stören-Schild“ betreten, das Bett wurde gemacht, aber die Reklamierten Punkte nicht gereinigt.

Ich fand das Zimmer nicht sonderlich sauber. Haare auf dem Fussboden und im Bett, die nicht die eigenen sind. Schade, dass man kein sauberes Glas nach Benutzung bekommt.
Das Frühstück ist 0-8-15. Wenn ich nochmal buche, dann nur ohne Frühstück.
Unter 4 Sterne verstehe ich was anderes. Ich bin selbst in Gera geboren und habe das Gefühl, dass all die Jahre in dem Hotel nicht gemacht wurde. Zeit ist da wohl stehengeblieben. Sehr schade finde ich das.

Leider wurden unsere Geschäftspartner aus Ungarn am ersten Abend in der Lobby von dem zuständigen Kellner sehr unfreundlich behandelt.
Leider hatte der selbe Kellner einen Tag später sein unmögliches Verhalten nochmals gezeigt. Wir hatten unsere Geschäftspartner bei ihnen zum Abendessen eingeladen. Leider wurden wir sehr unhöflich des Platzes verwiesen weil wir im falschen Raum Platz genommen hatten. Somit sind wir dann mit 10 Personen in einer Gaststätte in Gera mit reichlicher Verspätung zu unserem wohlverdienten Abendessen gekommen.

Großes Hotel in guter Lage

Unser Zimmer war groß, geräumig, zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Alles war sauber. Einrichtung ist in Ordnung, könnte aber eine Modernisierung vertragen. Das Frühstück war vielseitig und reichlich, sehr gut. Die Hotelmitarbeiter sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt!

Ein schönes ruhiges Hotel das wir schon zum dritten Mal besucht haben mit einem sehr vielfältigem Frühstücksbüffet. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und immer hilfsbereit.
Wir haben sogar in Upgrade auf ein Studiozimmer erhalten.
Dieses war sehr groß und sehr komfortabel.
Zwei kleine Anmerkungen haben wir:
Es wäre schön, wenn wenigstens die hochwertigeren Zimmer keine Teppichböden mehr hätten, da wir diese als nicht sehr hygienisch empfinden. Auch ist ein Duschvorhang in solch einem Zimmer nicht sehr an sehnlich. Vielleicht sollte man eine Duschtür anbringen.
Ansonsten waren wir wie immer sehr zufrieden und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Schönes Zimmer aber Vorsicht bei Lärm/Hitze Kombi

Wer ein offenes Fenster oder eine Klima zum schlafen braucht wird hier nur Schlaf in einem der Zimmer zum Innenhof finden.
Der Straßenlärm ist normal, allerdings liegt an der Berliner eine Straßenbahn (Lärm bis etwa 12 Uhr) und an der Franz-Petrich irgendein Gerät (Klima, Leuchtreklame oder so) in der Nachbarschaft, dass ohrenbetäubend summt.
Macht in der Summe für mich eine Schlaflose Nacht da es zu heiß für ein geschlossenes Fenster war und zu laut für ein offenes.
Die Zimmerausstattung entspricht der Preiskategorie und kann mit Sauberkeit und Zustand punkten. Einzig die extrem harten Kissen und die Decken zum Übernachten bei -20 grad im Freien lassen zu wünschen übrig.
Das Hotelpersonal ist sehr nett und man fühlt sich gut behandelt. Ich bin mir sicher, dass ich auch noch ein anderes Zimmer bekommen hätte (Innenhof) wenn ich rechtzeitig gemerkt hätte wie unerträglich Laut/Warm mein Zimmer zur Straßenseite war.

Sehr schönes, großes Hotel in einer ruhigen Wohnlage und trotzdem zentral. Alles schön, sauber und gepflegt. Schöne Außenanlagen und Frühstücksservice.
Wer es ganz ruhig mag, nach einem Zimmer mit Fenster nicht zur Straßenbahn anfragen. Man sollte auch damit klar kommen, dass die Zimmer mit Teppich ausgelegt sind.

Wir nutzen dieses Hotel schon mehrere Jahre, aber seid zwei Jahren gibt es merkliche negative Veränderungen!
Dieses Jahr Zimmer mit Kingsize Bett gebucht, erhalten Bettgrösse gerade 1,60m! Wurde direkt bemängelt - Aussage dies wäre gebuchte Kategorie! E-Mail Adresse für Beschwerde bei der Chefin bekommen - direkt zwei Tage später kontaktiert - bis heute 10 Tage später keine Rückantwort oder andere Reaktion darauf!
Kingsize Bett beginnt bei 1,80m ! Gebuchte Kategorie beinhaltet Badewanne und SEPERATE Dusche - war nur Dusche vorhanden.Mängel werden nicht ernst genommen - einfach so abgetan !

Freundlich , sauber ,Gutes Frühstücksbuffett , alles okay ,ausser Ein...bzw.Ausfahrt in die Tiefgarage...war wohl noch für Trabbis konzipiert , mit SUV muss man jonglieren um ohne Kratzer rein oder raus zu kommen

Gute Matratzen, unser Standard-Doppelzimmer war schön geräumig und hatte eine ruhige Lage zum Innenhof, Zimmer hatte eine Badewanne, gute Lage - 10 Minuten zu Fuß ins Zentrum. Gutes Frühstück, kostenlose Parkmöglichkeit auf dem Hotelgelände aber nicht viele Möglichkeiten... wir hatten aber Glück :o)
Der Türgriff bzw. Beschlag im Badezimmer müsste auch Mal abgewischt werden - sonst alles in. O. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt!

Zwischenstopp

Wir nutzten das Hotel als Zwischenstopp auf der Fahrt nach Warnemünde.
Das Zimmer, was wir vorfanden, war sauber und gemütlich.
Der Service war sehr gut, das Buffet zum gebuchten Frühstück, hat unsere Erwartung weit übertroffen.
Der Aufenthalt, am Tag der Ankunft, in der Lounge war ebenfalls sehr angenehm und das Personal sehr freundlich.
Also der Urlaub hat gut angefangen.

Shortstop på vej hjem fra ferie, booket via hotels.com ca. to timer før ankomst. Receptionisten ringede og tilbød opstilling af barneseng, hvilket var prikken over i'et. Storslået morgenmad og høj standard, til en meget fornuftig pris.

Sehr freundliches, professionelles Personal

Das Hotel ist ein normales Kettenhotel. Was das Novotel Gera auszeichnet, ist die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals - vom Einchecken übers Frühstück bis zum Check-out am nächsten Morgen. Dass ich beim späten Imbiss an der Bar ein Stück Plastik im Brot gefunden habe, spricht gegen den Bäcker, nicht gegen das Hotel.
