The room was not what was expected. The lighting has really bad. There was no meat for breakfast. The air window vent had not been cleaned when we turned it on. The picture looked as if we were going to have an AMAZING stay. My mother had to go up and down stairs and she is 81. Though we did pay for two nights, we left at 6 that evening. This was truly misleading.

I tried to cancel this reservation I made online soon after arriving and immediately recognizing I had made a serious mistake. Neither the hotel night staff person nor Expedia would allow me to cancel. Smell/ deodorizer was overwhelming in front reception and gave me a headache. Building in poor state/ repair. NO receptacle for phone charger. Staff ignored requests and issues and would not listen. Interaction was laborious, to say the least. Climate unit in room had horrible burning smell and did not seem safe. It was 17 degrees outside. I went all night without sleep. Room in poor shape, uneven floors, dirt or bugs in lights, loud bathroom fan, dirty/ stained washcloths, metal base to bed that was loud and black things on sheets. I did NOT use the bathroom shower/ bath, becuase of poor condition and did NOT unpack my things. Bedding uncomfortable andinadequate, went all night without heat. With poor dirty condition of everything I did not use bathroom except toilet and did NOT eat, since it did not seem safe to do so with poor and dirty condition of everything else. This hotel needs to be torn down. Everything looks like it was rescued from a dumpster. I did not dare sit in the room chair and the only reason i slept in the bed is becuase expedia and night person would not let me cancel. It was a miserable, dirty and unsafe experience. I could not see my car from room, could only see trash from window. Immediately left in AM and key at front desk. I just wanted out.

They wanted to charge us again at check in because the gal didnt understand that the reservation was already. The design of the hotel was funky with the 1st floor hallway being downstairs in a basement level. If you are traveling with a lot of lugage for a multiday trip this is not the best place to stay. The side door to the hotel would not open with out yanking extreemly hard. They key card unlocked it but the magnitization or what ever would not let a normal pull open the door. You basicly had to rip the door open to get in. In the room there was a hole in the quilt and the bathmat was ratty and falling apart. Otherwise it was ok for a quick overnight stay. Mattress comforable, room clean, area safe and quiet. Wont stay there again but it was okay for what we needed it for.

Though stated as remodeled, it is still not well-kept and is shabby in places. Was cluttery around lobby. One person in charge of most things. Very minimal breakfast bar. Intense scent of mag champa incense upon entering. I was hoping description given meant there has been improvements in moderately priced Super 8 motel. It was neither moderately priced nor any improvement in my opinion.

Super 8 sometimes get bad expectations. Tried this for the state fair because of the price and convenience, five minutes away. Very convenient for getting there early to attend to livestock, and go take a nap or relax for a little bit. Was quite surprised the cleanliness and comfortability was very good for the family. There is not an elevator, but only three floors. The breakfast is very minimal, nothing hot or cooked. If you don’t need all the fancy expensive other hotels and plan ahead for breakfast this is a very good budget friendly option. Definitely recommend and will stay there again.

Not bad!!

We needed to stay the night in Hutchinson and didn’t think to book ahead. Turns out to be during the State Fair and NO rooms under $3-400 in the city! Finally found a room thru Hotels.com at the Super 8 and to be honest I was a little scared. But, honestly it wasn’t bad, beds comfortable- just a little smoky smelling, particularly in the bathroom.

Got into our room and noticed bugs crawling on the floor when we first opened the door. I noticed there was hair and crumbs all over the floor. Pulled the blankets down to check the bed and seen hair on the sheets. Went to the desk and asked to be moved. The room we moved to was cleaner but the comforter had what seemed to be a cigarette burn hole.

Property was definitely dated for the most part the staff was friendly and accommodating. We called ahead of time about the breakfast because we don't like just a carb loaded breakfast. And the staff had said that there was meat on the breakfast bar however when we went to breakfast there was not. My friend that was traveling with me informed them of the conversation and they argued with her. I overheard the conversation and when she asked the question they said yes. However I believe there may be a language barrier or they were just trying to get her off the phone and saying yes. Overall the stay was not horrible.

POSITIVE: the bed was comfortable and the shower bath had great water pressure.
NEGATIVE: Old furniture. Permanently stained sheets and towels. One sheet had such a bad looking stain that we asked for it to be replaced. We were handed another sheet and we had to replace it ourselves! The carpet was grimy so bad that we didnt walk on it barefoot. The light switches were also grimy like they had never been cleaned. The hair dryer did not work at all. When we checked in, there was some kind of party going on in the lobby. There were kids playing in wet bathing suits and there was water everywhere. I have never stayed in such a sorry hotel. If this is the Super 8 standard, we'll never stay in another one.

Unfortunately the smell of Curry and smoke permeated the halls and rooms of the Hotel. It was noticeable immediately upon entering the building. The smell of smoke is in the sheets and towels in our non smoking room. The room was clean and the staff were fabulous. Sadly we would not stay again.

The hotel room was okay, I found a lot of hair in the bathroom and the outlet by the bed had a shortage.
I was told by an employee prior to our arrival that the handicap ramp was easy for wheelchairs and walkers to use. It wasn't, the ramp that was very steep. They refused to cancel my reservation by charging me fees for the 2 rooms. I was glad that the men that helped me get my mom and sister up the ramp to the second floor.

The front desk threatened to cancel my room because they overbooked if i didn't pay for my 1st night before check in even opened and repeatedly called me harrassing me. I travel up to kansas frequently for rabbit shows. Bet your ass I WILL NOT be back after being treated like I was. And top it off when i got in the tv wouldnt work. I had to ask them to come up to fix it on Saturday.

The only thing that was unappealing is that there were people in the parking lot on the back of a truck drinking alcohol outside my window at night and then when staff was cleaning rooms, walked past and the room was very messy from stayers (not property people's fault on that) but the door was wide open and smelled like BO.

We found bed bugs in one of the beds and was offered a different room with the guarantee of no bed bugs in the new room. Why can’t there be a guarantee of no bed bugs in all the rooms. The staff apologized for the inconvenience and offered a full refund. We ended up going to a different hotel.

Room was very clean, ac cooled now the room nicely. We slept very good on the beds. We did have to tighten down the toilet as it was very loose and wobbly on the floor.
Breakfast was not that great. Few choices, no fruit, overly strong coffee and only regular coffee. 3 floors and NO elevator.

The place was dirty and falling apart it seemed.
The smoke detector was missing, the light in the bathroom was broken, there wasn't an exhaust fan in the bathroom, the shower drain was filthy the bed was not comfortable, the pillows may as well have been empty pillow cases, one of the lamps was shorted out, and the electrical in general was a fire hazard.

Nothing was clean, except the sheets. The bathtub was dirty, there was spider webs in the corner, There was dried food on the walls, Coffee pot was filthy, and I killed a cockroach crawling out from under the bed and across the floor. Even outside of the rooms, the stairway was dirty. Nobody vacuumed. The breakfast only had the waffles, oatmeal, bagels and apples. Not much protein anywhere. The check-in guy was very nice But when we got there, and I changed the reservation from three nights two nights he said he had change the price of the room then. It was only five dollars but still, we canceled in plenty of time for him to rent the room. We felt it was petty. After getting into room and seeing how dirty I was, we thought that was really petty. Won’t stay there again.

Stayed here for almost a week in August 2024. Staff was friendly and beds were comfortable. Lobby was always clean/well-maintained and it had an ice machine and water was always available. The only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is because our daily maid service only brought in towels and straightened up the bathroom - they never made our beds with the exception of the first day. After that our room was pretty much a mess thanks to us. LOL : ) Our bathroom also had some damage to the walls and the flooring in the main room had some big gaps here and there. But for the value, this was a great place to stay!
