Horrendous service. You have to call repeatedly to get anything done. Being polite gets you hostile and aggressive responses. It’s the oddest thing. There are plenty of staff members who are polite and well mannered. But the manager has horrible decorum. He refuses to have conversations about any disputes. He’s ready to take money, but will not provide promised services.

The rest of the staff, like the cleaning crew do a great job, but the sheets are awful. The shower is awful. The amenities are awful. The infrastructure of the hotel is awful. But the low level staff do a great job with what they are given. I’ve stayed in Bangalore plenty, pick a different hotel.

Good hotel, but needs to smarten up

The check in was amazingly slow. I made a couple of comments via hotels.com and the management responded immediatly. They still need to improve their procedures to make things smooter.
The wifi leaves a lot to be desired. A lengthy procedure to got on-line, which requires an Indian mobile phone number, followed by further log-ins on the second day (new voucher). This only wifi access point that worked was not on the list the hotel provides
I had to ask for things like extra coffee supplies, and toilet paper. These were provided quickly
The hotel is clean, but dowdy. While the floor is cleaned daily, there are marks on the walls which have clearly been there for months, or more likely years.
The hallways and restaurant area could also do with fresh paint and more lighting.
This is a decent hotel, but it could easily be changed to a very good one

Simple hotel but fairly basic in a busy area

Looks much better in the photo on the website than in real life. Room was fairly basic but comfortable; bathroom a little too basic. Breakfast quite tasty and plentiful. Just a bit too noisy and slightly scruffy to recommend.There are plenty of other choices

There were many insects in the room. Also in the picture room size looked big but it was bit smaller.

Not worth of money

Location is good, but you get cockroaches and Mosquitos as bonus, fan and a/c are so noisy we requested for a room change they did it but we see cockroaches in that new room. I called reception asking for a mosquito coil no respone

Very bad hotel to stay

Booked there after reading review on Expedia, booking was done for executive room but i was allotted a standard room, bed size, during booking was referred as king size but it was separate single bed in the room. Food quality is worst and the room service attendant is way too arrogant. On the top none of the pizza chain delivery e.g. Dominno's, Pizza Hut delivers in this area.

Ok but not worth the cost

- Room area was smaller to use for two people and for the price paid
- Saw Rats roaming amidst the plants kept in front of the reception /lounge area
- Whenever we walk in Corridor or enter the Room (we'd used Rooms 123 and 221), the smell was not good
- On the first day, we were told in Room service (dial 444) that the complimentary breakfast would be available up to 8, it was already 8.30 and so we hurried. But in the restaurant they told us it was up to 10, 10.30am.
- TV Remote was broken and the lid for batteries was missing and was tied with a rubber band (in Room 123)
- Leaky hand flush, shaky washbasin taps (in 221)
- When we extended the room, I paid the rent upfront but the receipt was not given immediately despite reminding them twice in 2 hours.
- Finally, when we checked out in the evening, the morning Receptionist moved out and the other guy who was there said the balance amount was already paid. When I rejected it, they called the morning guy to verify that I was true, it was embarrasing for me in front of my family and others. They could have worked much more professionally.
- Wifi was claimed as free to use but we have to call them to know the user id, and give our mobile num to send pwd. We tried several times in our laptops but not once connected with the credentials they gave us
- No in house restaurant, insufficient /congested parking at hotel - valet parking was not offered to us. We didnt feel its worth for the cost we paid.

Pleasant...

The hotel is nice for the price it comes at, hot water, AC, the Bathroom clean and dry, the beds welcoming... not much to complain about except the limited menu and the food offered... though its fine for a one off dinner... we were hardly in the room for long and as students found the place decently amiable. the staff is non interfering and helpful even at 3am in the morning...

Far exceeded my expectations.

This is an excellent hotel and is way better than I expected for the price I paid. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming and the room was perfect.

The sheets were pristine, the bed comfortable and the facilities in the room were great - kettle, hair dryer, safe, fluffy slippers, the lot!

There was hot water every time I wanted it - something of a rarity in Indian hotels in my experience!

The hotel was in a great location to reach all the main landmarks in the city, and turning left and left again out of the hotel I found a couple of friendly bars nearby.

A pleasant stay at the BGH

We were very happy with the hotel. We had a few problems, for example a noisy extraction fan below our rooms was a disturbance, but when we mentioned it to reception, it was dealt with promptly.
All in all a pleasant experience, value for money, and we have already booked rooms for our return.

Hotel Bangalore Gate bad 3 star

The hotel really should be a 2 star. The room is poor and the whole hotel is run down.

The reception deliberately mislead us by saying that they had ordered a taxi saying that they would call us when it arrived. We came down early and the taxi had not been ordered. Taxi companies told us 30 min delay, which was annoying since I went to reception in the morning to sort all this out.

We ended up getting the hotel taxi at twice the cost (which I think was the idea) because otherwise we were going to miss out flight.

Bangalore Gate - great value

The Bangalore gate has a good feel about it especially in the entrance foyer with the large Ganesha statue. The hotel has a great restaurant attached with a good selection of Indian cuisine. The location is central, but the traffic out side is intense and loud so request a room at the back of the hotel and it is lovely and quiet.

They called me a doctor

That's the biggest reason I'm giving them an overall 4. View from the window was the wall of the adjacent building. Food ordered from the room took half an hour to arrive, but tasted quite decent. In my hurry I had forgotten my toiletries, and was very pleased to find complimentary dental kit as well as a shaving kit. Even the Pride doesn't do that, so kudos to Bangalore Gate!

Most of all, I'm grateful for their help in helping me find a doctor. I fell sick and had a fever. I first asked the desk to find me a doctor on Sunday, which they couldn't. I requested again on Monday morning, which they did do.

I suppose a budget hotel that I pay about 2K for can't be expected to provide much more. It is unfair to compare this service with that of a five star hotel. So, in its class, I think this is a better hotel to stay at than say, a Ginger.

This is for sure NOT the best hotel I've been to.
But given the price, it's fair.
There's no LAN in the rooms. Only wireless, and it will cost you.
No dining room. You get coupons to eat at the nearby restaurant.
They'll rip you off for the hotel taxi, and for money exchange - so try to avoid it if you can (like ordering MERO cab).

Very basic hotel, few fringes, in central city. Breakfast was off the menu at the restaurant next door; not the buffet as advertised. But, it was OK. Best part was free internet access; not usually encountered.

Gentle respite in a busy Bangalore

Hotel Bnagalore Gate has earned its Expedia award. We found the room clean and comfortable and staff very eager to make our stay positive. They quickly knew our travel pattern, offered helpful ideas and always ackbnowledged us as we left for the day and returned. The Room Service breakfast was a welcome respite to the Indian food for American travelors. Also....the business center/computer access was free and welcome also.

Ok hotel but unfriendly staff

The rooms were ok. Good for a night or two in Banglore. The website says it is only 12 km from the airport but its actually 40 km. We choose it because it was close and we just needed to get to a hotel quickly since our flight came in late. The men at the front desk weren't very friendly or helpful.

The hotel gave us a breakfast coupon for a restaurant right next door, that was a bonus. The food was delicious and the staff there was great. They also had free internet.

The room was clean and they have a nice lobby.

The room was expensive for what it was.

This hotel has clean rooms, is well situated to walk to the city or to the park and areas of interest. Various transport options out the front of hotel [eg. auto]. The resturant has excellent Indian food and is also very popular with the locals. there seemed to be mostly Indian guests at the hotel, including families. A very good feel to the place. We had a lovely stay. Staff very helpful with any requests.

Great hotel, a hidden gem

This hotel was better than I expected, In addition to clean room and great service, the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. I was impressed with the security detail as well since the hotel is located in a very crowded commercial area. The hotel has an excellent restaurant attached to it. Overall, great experience, would recommend to any one who travels to Bangalore.

Der Sauberkeitsgrad des Zimmers war gut. Manche Einrichtungsgegenstaende waren alt/beschaedigt. Im Bad hatte sich Schimmel an der Decke gebildet wegen zu schlechter Durchlueftung. Der Service (z.B.: Gepaeckaufbewahrung, Internet, Bereitsstellung einer Dusche nach Check-Out, Auskunft) war ausgezeichnet.

Hôtel très moyen

Hôtel bruyant, chambre peu accueillante, salle de bains ancienne, matelas très dure.
Petit déjeuné très léger et local. Personnel agréable et très serviable par contre.
Prix élevé pour ce type d'hôtel sur Bangalore.
Les photos enjolivent la situation réelle.
Surtout ne restez pas sur Bangalore !!!!

Très belle prestation, grande chambre claire, , bureau, salon tv, frigo, set du voyageur(peigne, set couture, brosse à dent etc de voyage)à disposition. Agence de voyage, qui prépare, avec nous notre itinéraire. Petit bémol, le restaurant, ne fait pas parti du même hotel, mais jouxte l'hotel. Pour les fans de shopping, la MG road est éloigné, mais les autos rickshaws, devant l'hotel vous attendent. L'hotel est calme, excellent rapport qualité prix.

Je trouve que cet hotel est beaucoup

Je trouve que cet hotel est beaucoup trop cher pour les prestations et le confort. La situation est centrale car près de la gare et station de bus. La propreté était toute relative. A ne pas regarder de trop près. Chambre sans aucun charme et désuette. Ne recommande pas cet hôtel.
