The decor and atmosphere is absolutely divine - the only downside was with the parking, which is really tricky to get to especially as you first arrive and want to drop off the luggage. The location is perfect for sightseeing and some of the rooms have a direct view on the gorgeous marina. Definitely a place to go back to!

Without a doubt the hottest hotel i have ever stayed in, the air con didn't work in my room for the first night. The hotel is on the 3rd floor so a trek upstairs in 30+ degrees isnt fun, when you do get a key to the lift it is tiny! Not the worst hotel but definitely not the best!!

Do not book this hotel

This was way below expectations. Poor condition, weird smell and werid small rooms. The hotel had no parking, expect to find it in the public area. Small rooms with so much weird furniture its impossible to move, or have your suitcase anywhere. Breakfast was bad as well, stale old bread. Even the breakfast room was crowded due to so much weitd furniture. I would not recommend this hotel!

Very Italian… nice deco, great location. But very poor sound proofing (room number 10 with harbor view… street noise was very annoying). Some surprising goods (decoration, patio) and bads (noise as said before, worn out bathrobes !!!!). Friendly staff though.

Check-in required us to walk up several flights of stairs because the elevator required a key. The room was warm and didn’t have a fan or AC. There was an open window. The bed was very comfortable, though high, and the bathroom was spacious. The breakfast was lovely, with fruit, nuts, pastries, hard-boiled eggs, cured meat and cheese, yogurt and esperesso bar. Property did send a message RE: the intercom, but they just buzzed us in instead of escorting us upstairs or helping with our luggage.

Good location for exploring downtown. Staff was very kind. But I’d have traded the quirky decor for a larger room. It was just too small to allow us to move inside or take a shower comfortably or have easy access to the suitcases. Knowing what we now know, we can say it is an overpriced option compared to other hotels in the area.

The hotel is located in a convenient spot with most things in walkable distance or a quick bus ride away. They're redoing the street in front of the hotel--nothing to do with the hotel, but if you have mobility issues, it might be a problem as taxi can't come near the door. The inside itself is unique with all sorts of bric brac scattered about. The rooms were spacious and had everything you need. Worth noting that unless you have a harbour view, your windows will open into a pretty depressing indoor courtyard, with little light--it's a historic building, this isn't unusual but worth noting. The only real issue is the issue with the keys-- the doors have the original locks on them. Which is fine, except by their own admission the one for Room 4 is problematic. It was a pain to open and close and frankly the whole door didn't seem very secure anyways. You had to leave your keys at the front desk when you went out which would be fine if they a) told you that when you checked in so you didn't get a lecture later, and made sure there was always someone at the front desk or the door was unlocked. Unfortunately a number of times I was forced to wait around for someone to come back when I was heading out, so I could leave my key. If they could get this ridiculous key situation sorted I'd happily give them a 5/5, but over 3 days it became increasingly annoying.

Fabulous hotel - so much art to enjoy

The design of the hotel is beautiful - there is so much art to see and enjoy. The breakfast room has a fantastic view and the staff are very helpful.

We chose this hotel as it is described as having parking - by UK standards this is not strictly true - there is a big public carpark nearby, which charges about 14 euro / day. Actually this was a great option given how tightly packed the old town is, but it wasn't what we expected. Its not so easy to access the parking either - I'd suggest getting advice from the hotel beforehand.

I mentioned in my booking that one of our group needs gluten free food, and asked again at breakfast on day 1. Breakfast was great but there were few options for my friend. Honestly I was surprised that rice-based cereals or gluten-free bread packs weren't sourced given we were staying 4 nights.

But honestly, these 2 comments are minor, in general this hotel is really fabulous. It is a real treat to spend time somewhere so beautiful

Dishonest sarcastic unfriendly nasty

After two nights i discovered i left behind my expensive binoculars. Searching the car and emptied our suitcases it was definitely left in the room but when I called them they said it was not there. I told them it definitely was. The receptionist wouldnt speak English anymore then hung up. I emailed and received a nasty reply implying I had a cheap copy and trying to get an original. I told them i would leave negative reviews and they told me it was a criminal offence to threaten and they would take legal action. Such arrogance. Can comfort myself in knowing that karma will prevail

Beautiful hotel. Tons of charm and very unique. We had a beautiful room with a fantastic view of the port across the way and the busy street below. The staff was amazing. Pietro, Nicola, Ricardo and everyone else were extremely friendly and helpful. Pietro offered tons of advice and assistance. Parking was cheap and easy; directly across the hotel in the port parking lot.

FYI: the hotel is located on the third level of the building. There is a small old elevator in the lobby if needed. The hotel overall was nice. I just thought there was too much Knick knacky stuff in the hallways and sitting area. The location was good. Lots of restaurants and shopping in the area. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The boutique hotel is beautiful to stay at. The owners have a large collection of art on display and each room has a theme.
The staff couldn’t have done anymore for us and helped with every request.
The location is perfect. Right near the port but also in the old town near all the shops. This is an old beautiful building and it presents very well. Wish we could have stayed longer. Grazie

The hotel was in a great location in the marinara district district on the sea front. The style of the hotel is very kitsch but fun. The reception staff were wonderful and very helpful. The room we had was a good size and very quirky with bright colours and huge fish and octopi painted on the walls. The major dissapointment was the breakfast. The one waiter was very cold. You had to ask for a coffee. There was no muesli put out. You had to ask for it. On the second and final day there was no muesli at all. The only brown bread was from a sliced loaf. There was no hot food. Mainly just cakes.

The hotel was misrepresented in the photographs on line. It doesn't deserve a 4 star rating in my opinion. The 'garden' was pokey dull and horrible. You would not want to sit there at all for any length of time. A bitter disappointment . The breakfast was hit and miss .

Good location with view over the harbour.

If you like white walls and no character in your hotels you will not like this one. Every room is very very different with a different theme. Some are nicer than others. However, these themes gave us endless fun( we occupied six or seven rooms) and they were certainly worthy of comment. Every bathroom was lovely.

Eclectic hotel with personality

Loved Mira Mare. When we booked it we had no idea what we were in for. The pictures and description on Expedia doesn't do a justice. Every room is unique with its own vintage or antique furniture art and books. It feels more like you are staying at the house of someone really interesting, may be a writer, artist or collector (with good taste). Plus the staff are uber helpful, caring and always with smiles. We highly recommend it for the experience.

Beautifully decorated with fabulous art, solicitous and helpful staff (on duty 24/7!). Wonderful breakfast, comfortable beds, well located for walking to sightsee and to restaurants (oh my, Da Corsaro and Roberto Pomate-some of the best meals of my life, and around the block!) Housed in one of the upper floors of an historic building, decor successfully blends modern artworks, mid-century modern and traditional antiques with natural and \"found \" elements in a very San Francisco-transported-to-Sardinia way. Notes: English speaking staff are very helpful with tourist info. Elevator is very small and keyed for security, requiring a 3-story climb to register and obtain key. There is a buzzer at entry level which didn't work for us.

A great location and very nice staff, but the hotel is very old. Room was not ready when we arrived at 5 p.m. and we sat around the lobby a good 45 minutes. We had been asked what room type we wanted and specified the most spacious (rather than view, etc.). Despite this the room was very small (even by NYC/Boston standards). The power was out the first few hours we were there which also put a damper on things as we very much wanted to shower after coming off long flights.

Great little hotel right on the harbor. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's very charming and the people who run it are super friendly and clearly care about their guests. It is tiny, it's one floor in an old building. There are about a dozen or so rooms, and they're pretty small (mine was, anyway, but I think they're mostly similar). I believe only actually has a view of the harbor, the others just look into alleys. But there are lots of neat little touches, like little nooks where you can sit and drink an espresso. Highly recommended if you like quirky and unique places and don't need a lot of space.

Probably best to arrive by taxi or shuttle as entrance is in between shops and not that easy to find first time, Also unless you ring up to reception to send down lift there are 2 flights of stairs to climb, the receptionist called Mario was 1st class immediately taking luggage showing me to lounge, and offering complimentary drink also handing out maps and advising on tours and attractions, The hotel is a bit quirky in a nice way all rooms are very individual not like usual hotel rooms ,Breakfast is served in lounge ,there is a large assortment of typical European food pastries, meat ,and fruit but no hot food available .Coffee served by very friendly young lady.
Once you have settled in a very pleasant stay
once again a big well done to Mario for his excellent customer service

Nice location, but simply overpriced

It is nicely located hotel in the historic centre of Cagliari, Sardinia. There are not too many there. The first impression was very good. However, a closer look tells you that it is not a four star hotel. The hotel itself is located at the third floor accessible by a primitive elevator suitable for only two people. You cannot use it without a key. The room itself is nice, but the bathroom is too small and primitive. A third of the room was under water after my morning shower. To make a discount price was simple - they took out the breakfast and charged it $25.- You can got the same quality (and quantity) breakfast in a small restaurant in the city for less than $10.-, and you can get a comparable hotel in downtown area for a much lower price.

Great location, near the port and eity center

Great location and staff. The hotel is very eclectic, and a bit quirky, as the office is on the 3rd floor. But, its worth the climb and very charming. Its near a great restaurant district, close to city center and the port, and only a short cab ride from the airport. We found the décor really neat and the staff very helpful. It was a great stay and the panoramic view from the hotel is fantastic.

I booked the most expensive room here with certain expectations based on previous travel experiences around the world. The hotel is charming, unique. And in a good location. However the room was so small I could barely open my luggage. I have stayed in hotels in Europe and Asia at comparable rates and in lovely locations and they were more luxurious and much more spacious than this.

The location in centre makes it convenient to commute to Airport and most of the city attractions and sights including city baech Poetto. Many nice bars, dining places are awailable within minutes walk.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull.
The room was rather small and window facing the internal space (not garden as it was too small), which made it rather dark even in the day light. Furniture was rather antique which was on purpose and refurbushment with wall paintings was very nice.

Trendy, clever boutique hotel on the waterfront.

When we arrived, we were led to the comfortable breakfast room, and given coffee. This was to give the staff time to move luggage to our room, and make copies of our passports.
Each room is unique, they are certainly trendy, some have dodgy artwork (!), ours had a very comfy bed (and they put a small bed for our kid at no charge), our friends found their bed too soft, so suggest asking when making the booking if you have a preference.
Breakfast was the best we'd had in 2 weeks, and came with a panorama view of the bay.
The free parking actually refers to the fact that some of the spaces on the main street in front are free to non-residents. Fortunately there is high turnover on the street and you only have to wait 5-10 mins, but we'd imagined a private parking lot!

Excellent location in Cagliari - Pets are welcomed

The hotel is well located, at a large avenue facing the Marina. Most attractions are at walking distance and there is a tourist information booth with helpful staff only 1 block down the road. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, the bathrooms and beds (I had 2 different rooms) were well kept. The hotel (as with any other hotel or B&B located on via Roma) sits above a commercial building with no front desk. A key to the elevator is provided upon check-in. You will have to climb up 2 floors with your luggage when you first arrive. The front desk is on the 3rd floor, so although there is someone there 24/7, there will be no one to welcome you at the street level when you walk in late at night. But Cagliari seems to be really safe. I saw nothing to feel unsafe about. I picked this hotel cause it is pet-friendly, although I did not travel with a pet this time.

Interesting Hotel with weird service

Very cool look and design for a small hotel and the location is perfect. the service does some weird things. the wine bottle in the room is 20 EUR which is a little high for an unmarked bottle. Other hotels in Italy had 10EUR room bottles. Also the service keeps your key when you leave. You cant get in to the hotel unless someone is at the front desk at night. There is always someone there but it just feels weird to have to ask to get in.

Beautiful hotel. Great location!

We will definitely be back to stay here for a longer time. This hotel is in a perfect location to explore the city. Property is immaculate and well appointed. Staff was impeccably polite and helpful. Highly recommended.

At last, an interesting hotel!

A quirky, interesting hotel in a great location. The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms were very clean and furnished with interesting pieces, but the downside of that is that the furniture took up a lot of space. Huge baskets of fresh fruit were always available in the lounge/breakfast room, which had fascinating decor. Time and thought had gone into all presentation.

A \"cool, funky hotel\" in Calgiari..

It was very difficult to find this lovely \"petite boutique hotel\" which is located on the fourth floor of a huge building. Once we found out, we were very impressed by its very ornate decor! Every room was different....one more beautiful and \"funky\" than the next. Even the ceilings were painted! The selection that was put out for breakfast was like nothing I have ever seen!! The staff was warm and friendly and always went out of their way to be certain that our stay was a wonderful one.

Strange but very enjoyable...

Was surprised that it was more of a B&B feel - top floor of a building on the main strip; also the breakfast looked an expensive extra. But the gentleman in charge could not have been more helpdul regarding where to go and what to see in Cagliari. The rooms are very interesting - decorated by artists and very memorable, if not spacious. I would stay here again; not a normal hotel but definitely one for those who favour the intimate, personal touch.

This hotel is rather quaint, on the 3rd and 4th floors of an old building, artfully decorated with all conveniences. It is rather special with floral painted ceiling at least 4 meters high. The air conditioner in the room worked well as it was very hot, but the hotel \"lobby\" was very hot. The 2 single beds we had were very narrow (80cm wide?), and the mattress shifted each time one got on it. One very negative point is the very old fashioned, small elevator which required a key to operate, and often did not function!! However, we enjoyed the 2 days stay as this was quite a new experience. We liked the great location close to all the restaurants etc.

Excellent location, comfortable stay

This is a lovely little gem in a perfect location for sightseeing - only marred by the 6 flights of stairs that you have to lug your case up and down. There is a lift but it wasn't working and there was no offer of help with my suitcase, despite me being a woman in my late 50's. Beware if your rate doesn't include breakfast - if so, eat out because it is ridiculously expensive for what you get.

On the Marina

Fantastic location! Walk out the front and you are on the main street with the marina accross the and the train/bus station just a few blocks down. We arrived early and the receptionist had us put our bags down and go into the open air, sitting area for a beverage free of charge and when the room was ready (5 mins later), he had taken our bags and put them in the room and even hung up our sweaters. The room was themed; we had the Aquaroom (2 twins) covered in fish - super cute! We didn't eat there because it wasn't included adn cost 23 euro per person; several cafes on street out front, so no biggie. The only other complaint was that the entire block's water got shut off at about 0915 (unknown reason) and I wasn't able to take a shower. We were told it'd be back on by 1200, but wasn't; no discount or offering made.

I was expecting more..

The room with the green instalation on the seiling was very small as was the bathroom. Water drain in the shower was blocked...There was a flashing blue light over night from the electonic box all night. Loads of noise, banging and all stuff from outside, and it wasn't the street side.

Hotel Miramare in Cagliari, Sardinia

We had a wonderful 3 days at the hotel this July. The rooms and common areas were perfectly decorated, the breakfast was delicious, and our hosts were most helpful to us who don't speak Italian very well!

I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cagliari. Great central location, beautiful interiors, and wonderful people. Thank you Hotel Miramare!

Hotel miramare - excellent welcome and location

The best things about this establishment are the great welcome given by the management and staff and its very convenient location. Decent complimentary breakfast. Decor - faded grandeur - think \"Room with a View\". On arrival you are faced with a long flight of stairs - you only get access to the lift after you have checked in. The front rooms face onto a busy road but have excellent views.

Don't be fooled! Hotel Miramare should be AVOIDED!

Hotel Miramare is located in a public, open office building, shared with other offices, on a 3rd floor. No real security for guests inside building or dedicated lobby. Paint is falling off the walls in the main stairwell. The tiny elevator was full of graffitti. Rooms are dark and dank. Cleanliness is not ideal. Bed mattresses are low quality. Furniture quality is mediocre and improvised. We had a chair for a night table, for example. Bathrooms in the Classic rooms are horrible. Tiny. Our shower (no tubs) measured 24 x 24 inches! I could not bend my knee to wash my feet! We were given a second room and same situation, except the shower head leaked everywhere and fell off the wall. No Wifi when we stayed. Staff are as helpful as they can be. This is by no means a 4 star hotel as they claim. It is a 2-star hostel.

Miramare Hotel. Stunning place and service.

Stayed just the one night at the end of a weeks holiday in a villa.
Location is superb, right on Via Roma overlooking the harbour. Parking can be a challenge.
The receptionist was very good, gave us free drinks on arrival whilst he checked us in. Sat in the lovely lounge with it's \"interesting\" array of literature.
The room was lovely, sumptuous and comfortable, well furnished with lovely old wardrobes and a huge bed. Bathroom clean and very splendid with some nice attention to detail like the toiletries.
Great balcony overlooking the harbour and Via Roma ( condition of the concrete balcony makes for a nervous adventure ! ) but great views. Good size doors and windows still shut out the noise of the city very well. Air con was good ( 40 degrees outside ! ) and quiet.
We would definately return to this stunning hotel with so much attention to detail it puts far grander and more expensive hotels to shame. A real credit to the owners.
