Stayed here both last year and this summer. Very convenient location between airport and city centre. There is a bus stop right across the hotel but taxi is also very affordable.
They have a nice buffet breakfast and rooms are very clean. Friendly staff as well.

Second time not so good.

My second time at this hotel. Convenient location to the airport and great for parking.I have always requested a takeaway breakfast. Too many biscuits and cake given. On my last day I didn’t request breakfast but was told that I could get something if I liked so I went and checked. They do have more savoury items which I prefer so in future if I decide to stay at Heliotrope Hotel I will request certain foods. The room this time was a lot smaller and the shower thingo was broken and the pressure was very weak. The water also went quite hot then cold. Evi at reception is wonderful. She is definitely an asset to the hotel.

Clean and comfortable hotel, close to MJT airport

Comfortable and convenient hotel being close to Mytilene airport. Have stayed several times and always get a warm welcome.
The hotel, set around a large swimming pool, has views over the sea.
A large selection of breakfast items is available, which currently is served to guests.

For me really good

Obviously this hotel has been refurbished and it an interesting option where to stay in front of the beach (and the sometimes too noisy road)
Due to Covid restrictions, cleaning is made in room upon request, but it's really ok.
Wifi signal excellent for working.
Pool available and very kind staff.
Nice hotel overall so many possibilities on island.

Stunning Hotel

I really enjoyed myself here. The entire hotel was so clean which is extremely vital to me. My suite was very comfy with a tv in the seating area and in the bedroom area. There were a number of options for breakfast. Pool was crystal clear even though it was too cold for a dip (for me). Staff were very helpful and friendly.

My only issue was the debate I had to have with the lady on reception over the currency I wanted charged from MY account. She failed to realise that by me selecting GBP it means they still receive the fee in their own currency and I don't get charged by my bank for a non GBP transaction. It made me feel very uncomfortable especially when she accepted it when another person advised her of the same thing I had.

I was disappointed with the cigarette smell in the room. Despite claims the room was 'non-smoking' the furnishings and bathroom had strong remnants of cigarette odour. Ironically there was even an ashtray left on the balcony table. I had to leave doors and windows open. I expect guests still don't respect this rule. What is it with this ridiculous obsession with smoking in Greece? Deodorising the room furnishings is recommended.

The lift also didn't work. You call the lift and then when you get in the power cuts out. The lift should be decommissioned, I expect it doesn't comply. Doubtful I'd stay here again. To be fair, the service, proximity to airport and parking convenience were all otherwise excellent.

Excellent choice for stopover. Warm and welcoming.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Room was clean and spacious and the beds very comfortable. Located close to the sea and there's a small beach nearby. Only downside was the music played all day by the pool. We would have preferred peace and quiet.

Family room was spacious but terrible beds to sleep in Definitely needs upgrading in the interior
Sheets had holes!
Rooms and reception smelt of tobacco and cigarettes . Maybe need to have scented candles/deodorisers
No paper flushing toilets this is really unacceptable for a 4 star resort rating hotel
Close to airport but need a car to get to town
The fact locals can pay to use the pool definitely doesn’t make it enticing too use
Great views of beach ,bar and pool area were nice to sit around But selection of music was outdated (1980’s!)
Staff at reception were exceptional and helpful
Lift doc not meet safety standards
Limited choice of hotels to stay in Mytilini so would probably have to stay there if I returned

Far from a 4 star

We booked a standard room at the heliotrope hotel which is stated as a 4 star (far from it) and were “upgraded” to a suite which looked like it had been locked away for centuries. We tried to change and were told nothing was available. We asked if she could try for tomorrow given they were “fully” booked and Eva, the check in lady, said only if there is a cancelation given there was nothing available and she tried very hard but she couldn’t do anything. She had also lied to my sisters and told them that we were very happy with the room when we never said that. She assumed given when we called to ask about the air we never said we “didn’t” like it.
I was not happy so I called hotels.com who was exceptional! They called the hotel and miraculously a room was available but it was not made. Hotels.com called again and once again miraculously housekeeping arrived and got it made. She lied to my face multiple times and had no shame to continuously do it. The room we finally got was refurbished but although it was “non smoking” it smelt like smoke and like it had never been aired out. The AC made a constant tapping sound, the electricity kept tripping out and the second last day housekeeping never bothered to make our room.
Super disappointed, will never go again.
Oh, and our view was a heap of construction rubbish that no one could be bothered moving. We were in room 105, do not stay there. Room107 and 106 is as per the renovated photos.

Booked a triple share room and was given a single unrenovated room - only after complaining was I moved to a renovated room which itself was nothing special. One of the days they didn’t even service any of our rooms - housekeeping doesn’t seem to be there all day so that day they decided no one’s room gets serviced! Let’s just say I won’t be rushing back!

This is the second time we have stayed here and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Close to airport and the main city. Supermarket 10 min walk. Great wifi and breakfast. A couple of close restaurants but the meals at the hotel are great. What more do you want.

Conveniently located hotel with many amenities

My wife and I recently concluded our vacation to Greece with 4 nights in Lesvos. We stayed at the Heliotrope Hotel which is 3 miles from both the airport and downtown Mytelini. It offers clean, functional rooms with an excellent pool and a filling, free, hot breakfast every morning. The pool is very nice and well maintained. Their food is very good The staff is very friendly and helped give us tips on what to do and see as well as welcomed directions to get there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to other travelers to the beautiful island of Lesvos

It is a convenient hotel when arriving at the airport late in the evening. We picked up our previously booked rental car at the airport, and there was plenty of parking at the hotel. The room was spacious, the en suite spotless, and there is a furnished a balcony overlooking the pool and across the road to the sea.

Conveniently hotel for both the town and the airpo

This hotel is conveniently located for both the airport and the town The airport is used infrequently and there is no disturbance from it. The breakfast is excellent.
The rooms on the ground floor are a bit claustrophobic due to the wall behind them. In theory the swimming pool should be nice and enjoyable but when we were there it was out of use. I presume that it is not heated.

Good hotel near the airport and convenient to town

This hotel looks like it was a 5 star at one time, but it hasn't been kept up to that level. But the room was spacious, comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed. It overlooks the sea and was cooled by sea breezes at night. The breakfast had some excellent points - DIY Greek coffee, homemade local fig preserves, sautéed mushrooms - but the breads were not very good. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel near beach and airport

Good and clean hotel. The rooms were comfortable, but are probably due for an update. The bathroom was too dim, so it made it hard to see anything in the mirror. The staff was very nice and tried to help. This hotel is a few miles from town center, but you could easily get into town within ten minutes. It is also right across from the Sea if you want to go for a swim. The beach is rocky, but the water if very clear. The pool and bar are very nice and the breakfast was pretty good too. This hotel is about five minute drive to the airport if you have an early flight.

Well worth the stay

Was a quick overnight stay before flying out the next day. Lovely hotel. Helpful and friendly staff. Wifi was relatively non-existent in my room, but worked fine in Lobby. They had music that evening in the restaurant, which was really nice, and the menu was quite extensive and reasonably priced. Good food. Breakfast was fantastic with loads of hot and cold items to choose from.

room was advertised as a 2 bedroom with a sauna. there was no sauna and it was one bedroom plus a hard as rock pull out sofa. i complained and they said the manager would help. he didn't instead the front desk woman called after 45 minutes to say this was the correct room and we were free to leave and get money back from expedia. this was at midnight so that wasn't really an option. very poor english speaking ability.

A lovely stay

It was a lovely stay. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated with a nice balcony. The staff was really very friendly and helpful. The food was good. I personally liked their olive based toiletries; they were high quality and natural with a nice fragrance. The hotel is close to the center of Mytilene, 5 minutes by taxi.

Comfortable hotel but too far from city centre

We enjoyed our stay at the Heliotrope Hotel. Our room was comfortable and we had a nice sea view. Despite this, as we approached our room we were faced with a rundown house.

The shower cubicle, in our room, was small and we found it hard to move around.

The breakfast at the hotel was very basic. Also, meals at the hotel are reasonably priced.

Great views and excellent pool area

We always stay at the Heliotrope when we visit Lesvos. It's close proximity to the airport is handy if you have to depart early. It is also away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still close enough to drive in for dinner/shopping. The staff is always very friendly especially the girls at the pool bar. Very nice relaxing around the pool having a drink and light snacks while overlooking the ocean.

Fantastic Service

I needed a hotel for one night prior to an early flight. I was given a plate of chilled fresh fruit when I arrived and loaned a towel for the beach and pool, so I did not have to put a wet towel in my suitcase. I left at 4.30 am, having been provided with fresh coffee and cake even at that unearthly hour. Rooms lovely and clean. Friendly staff. I will stay again.

Great for what I needed

I stayed there for an evening before an early flight out of Lesvos after spending a week on the other side of the island (Molyvos and Skala Eressos). The location was beautiful and convenient, the staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended a great little restaurant for dinner right next door called Taverna. The rooms were a little old-seeming and not very nice or luxurious, but they were clean enough and the balconies were beautiful. I would definitely stay here again before or after a flight for an evening, but would probably stay closer to an interesting town if my stay were extended.

Nice hotel outside town

My room with a balcony had a view of the sea and the small boat harbor up the street. The hotel is well maintained and staff is friendly. I was there in the off season so it was quiet. I would return in the spring or summer months just to use the large pool with outside bar next to it. The breakfasts were great with all kinds of food to select from including local dishes. The town of Mytilene was several miles away but still walkable along the shoreline.

a great place a bit off the beaten track

a fine hotel, recently refurbished, about an 7 euro ride from the aiport and a 16 euro ride to the center of town. bus right across the street runs about every hour (2 or 3-hour intervals on saturday and sunday), and does not run much after 8:30 at night. breakfast was intruiging: the only place i've ever seen an authentic greek coffee maker (with the hot sand) which requires the long instrument, and local sheep butter. as long as the distance from the port does not bother you, this is your place in lesvox.

Otel konumu itibariyle bizim için avantajlıydı, çünkü Mytilene limanına çok uzak bir mesafede olmamasına rağmen oldukça sakin bir konumdaydı. Denizin karşısındaydı, manzarası güzeldi ancak otel dolu olmamasına rağmen denizi yandan gören, daha çok çatıları gören bir oda verilmesi bizi rahatsız etti. Ayrıca odada duş askısı arızalı olduğu için duş başlığını çok rahat kullanamadık.
Temizlik ve hijyen konusunda kesinlikle memnun kaldık. Kahvaltı açık büfeydi oldukça çeşitliydi kahvaltısını beğendik.
