Everything Good Except Our Room

The Mercure staff were excellent, as was the breakfast. The garage was great. Our room, however, was extremely small...we were not sure how the Mercure Bezier qualified as a three star hotel.

Hotel facade is a bit run down. When facing hotel, confusion if it is an Ibis Budget or Mercure. Room is very compact, but clean and it does the job. Hotel is conveniently located near shopping and restaurants. Given limited options in Beziers, worth considering. To note, about 20 min walk (up hill) from train station.

Extremely difficult access. Very disappointed that the parking was full and there was no mention to us about specific parking reservations. Would not go crack to this particular hotel again. We had much better luck with other Mercure hotels in the past. Very disappointed by the very very small room.

Good location, but hotel not at the same level as other Mercure Hotels.
Chaima at the reception was helpful, but the manager had a negative attitude. In general they could explain better the different possibilities that the city can offer. They pretend to be busy, but in reality were uninterested to show what can someone do, during the Feria de Beziers, which was the highlight of the week.

Room was newly renovated but there was no safe in the room. We were informed at checkin that there would be no housekeeping services. There was only one partially used roll of toilet paper. Breakfast was poor; stale bread (hard to believe in a French hotel), rotten fruit wrapped in plastic, a bit of ham. Front desk completely messed up our bill on departure as well. When we complained all of this was blamed on COVID and not even an apology was offered. This is far below my experience with other Accor hotels and particularly a four star one.

The property was fine, but nothing special. Staff was friendly, but the general experience was just okay. Two things that stick out in my mind: There is no reason breakfast should cost 20 Euros per person. The room was just over 80 Euros, so breakfast for two of us for two days would have doubled our bill. This makes no sense, especially when we have had excellent dinners in Beziers, with wine and dessert for that price. Anything over 10 Euros for breakfast is exploitation.

Also, the hotel was very slow (not many people). Not sure why they put us on a floor being renovated. Walls being drilled in the morning didn't make us feel very welcome.

Hotel very small rooms and I mean very small rooms. Heating excessive had to sleep with window ajar to compensate. Paid for a breakfast and Mercure pride themselves on their bacon and eggs to the extent of advertising them on posters in their hotels. Our breakfast cold nothing. The attendant told us they had forgotten to buy the breakfast ingredients so all they had to offer was cereal, a little cold meat and cheese and some pastries. Standard two stars and one of the worst Mercure we have stayed in. Try Mercure Avignon or Mercure Albi if you want a proper Mercure.

BEZIERS MERCURE HOTEL, EXCELLENT STAY.

Hotel Mercure Beziers provides an excellent generous and delicious breakfast choice. Staff were highly efficient and friendly, Room was very clean and spacious. Hotel is 10 mins. walk to bus station and 15 mins by taxi to rail station, Beziers, its beautiful surroundings including the prized Canal du Midi are easy to explore. Parks, outdoor restaurants and shops are nearby and an excellent Tourist Office. Bus trips to beaches are only 20-30 mins. I also visited the extremely beautiful little town of Merseillan with its lovely marina, enjoyed an excellent lunch en pleine air in one of the quai restaurants, and did a most informative and fascinating tour of its Noilly Prat factory _ France's most delicious and prestigious range of vermouths all 4 of which I sampled. I can highly recommend a trip to this region of s.w. mediterranean France and intend to return.

This hotel is located right in the centre of Beziers - a non descript modernish building. The rooms are undeniably small, and the breakfast is definitely not worth paying for. On the plus side, the staff are friendly, and the aircon worked a treat. The shower was dated, and ridiculously complicated....Overall - reasonable value for money, but I would look elsewhere if I returned.

Nice surprise

Staying at Mercure for the first time and was very pleasently surprised. Very comfortable if smallish room and the bed was big enough for two to stretch out. The staff were very helpful; they loaned us a knife and bottle opener for a picnic and when we didn't want a full breakfast were happy for us to just grab a coffee. The hotel is not far from the centre and while the street isn't pretty it was fine.
Only gripe was the porthole between bedroom and bathroom which meant that the sleeping area lit up if you used the loo in the night!

A regrettable choice

This Hotel we would not rate the 4 star grade more like 3. Hotels own website stated privilage rooms were suites this was advised on check inthat this was a mistake and will have to be removed.
rooms were cold and advised heating not on till 01 Nov. Breakfast was an experience selection was not replenished without calling on staff who also attended the check ins/ reception desk poor selection of fruit and scrambled eggs was something else.

Booked this for our first night in France and a chance to look round Beziers before moving on. Location was central, maybe 5-10 minutes walk from the old part of town 10-15 minutes walk from the cathedral. Staff were friendly and hotel was clean and modern. The major criticism, and the reason that I would only stay there again if I had to, was that the room was very, very cramped. It was tiny. There was actually more space to move around in the shower room! We were given a complementary bottle of water in the room fridge, which was nice, but facilities for making tea/coffee were so basic, they may as well not have bothered. Glad we saw Beziers, but wouldn't recommend spending more than a night there, unless you were using it as a base for exploring.

Hotel comfortable staff very helpful room small but adequate for short stay we stayed 3 nights and do not travel light so needed to ask for more hangers no drawer space only shelves Air conditioning worked first night but the next two nights not working spoke to reception on the Monday morning but no better Monday night so had to open window and found it very noisy from early morning.

Budget hotel near centre

Chosen for one night near the centre but on the East so easy to get out to the airport. The hotel is fine for a short stay but a little lacking in 'soul'. I wouldn't stay there for longer. The breakfast was good quality with Nespresso coffee. Rooms big enough and not too small. Our room had wood on the wall which made it seem a little dark and we faced a block of flats. Complimentary WIFI and bottle of drinking water.
Beziers itself is the let down. A small area has been done up but wander away from the centre and it is poor. We found it difficult to find anywhere to eat that suited us.

Nice hotel in rough neighborhood.

Originally we were just going to stay for a quick overnight, but one of our party had an injury so we came a day earlier so she could go to an \"urgent care\" clinic -- BTW, an excellent experience! $82 for x-rays, diagnosis, boot and crutches for torn ligaments in less than 2 hours. Kind of unbelievable. Anyway, so we had a longer experience at this hotel, wandering around Chinatown and Muslim neighborhoods. Food was interesting, hotel was good but rooms were tiny -- actually typical for Paris.

Great One Night Stay

We only had one night in Beziers and found the staff at the Mercure extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating.
The rooms were ready when we arrived, which was a very nice surprise. Rooms are not large, but very clean, nice and quiet. We had breakfast the following morning and were pleased with the variety of offerings and quality.
We would absolutely recommend this property to anyone staying in Beziers.

Very disappointed with Mercure Beziers. Tiny room and little difference from an Ibis except for a bit of wood panelling. Area is not good; ate at Asian restaurant nearby as unwilling to explore at night. Paper cups for tea and meagre supplies. This is not a 4 star hotel in any way. Not a good experience.

The Mercure in Beziers is just off the Allee Paul Riquet and on the bus route from the airport (1 euro 60 cents!). The room was small but adequate for our one night stay. Tea and coffee facilities were available as was wifi. Hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. Very clean and lovely shower.

This hotel is ideal for exploring central Beziers, fairly easy to locate by car despite the road it is on being no entry from the central town direction. Has ample secure parking. Room comfortable, overlooking rooftops, but rather somber colour scheme.A/c worked. Minibar to cool your own wine down! Our only problem was a blocked sink.

The location was good, central to restaurants and shops. We did not experience any problem with booking in, in fact quite the reverse. The staff were efficient and friendly and answered our questions politely. The room was clean, beds comfortable and the shower excellent. However the room was small, no space for suitcases to be stored if staying longer than a few days. Adequate storage for short stays, but would be a challenge for long stays. For a new hotel the towels were incredibly threadbare. The breakfast was not good value for the price. What was on offer was reasonable, but we did not have it on our 2nd morning. Underground parking was easy once you knew the drill.

We knew from previous reviews that the rooms were shoeboxes and they were. Everything fit, however, and there was plenty of room for our stuff. This is not a destination room, but did fine for our visit to Beziers. It was in the center of town and the staff did a good job of giving us information about what was in the city center of Beziers.

Love the shower!

Good if you must stay in Beziers

Hotel was nice and felt/looked like three stars. Room was small but clean. Neighborhood is. It the best after hours. A couple of run-ins with locals that make this not the safest location. I am big, and my colleague is 6'7\" and they were still looking for trouble right outside the hotel. Otherwise service was very good, but at night, it felt like the front desk person was too busy about what she was doing to allow us to order our drinks. I speak French fluently and it took three calls for her to walk up to us to serve us...without a word or a smile for that matter. The room, however, was very good.

Nice clean hotel with good customer service

Hotel and rooms very clean and had a very pleasant stay in this hotel .....nicely located near Jean Jaures square where there is plenty of places to eat and drink. Definately visit 'le chambre ivre' (the drunken camel) for pre dinner drinks located on the square. Gino's a bit further down the square is a good pizza place.
Excellent customer service from staff. Hotel car park which is handy.
Only downfall is that it is quite far from the beach - valras plage - so having rented a car was a good thing to do.
Mini fridge and tea/coffee making facility in the room which was very good......and lots of pattiserie's nearby for fresh bread/croissants!! enjoy!

Très mal accueilli à l’arrivée
Hôtel sale (sols, ascenseur, chambre)
Chambre très petite avec de la M…. sur le mur des wc, la porte de la douche ne ferme pas donc inondation après la douche, la climatisation fait beaucoup de bruit donc obligé de l’éteindre pour essayer de dormir malgré la chaleur dans la chambre
Et impossible de garer notre véhicule dans le parking de l’hôtel car travaux devant l’entrée donc obligé de décharger complètement la voiture (pour 1 nuit) et essayer de trouver une place la une rue
J’ai appelé avant de réserver car c’était plus confortable pour nous mais personne nous a informé des travaux

Demande de Room service à 7h, pour pouvoir décoller de l’hôtel à 7h30, rien de compliqué, un café, un jus et une salade de fruits, arrivé à 7h25. On te demande bien évidemment de payer et aucun geste commercial a été fait vraiment dommage, la chambre était très bien.

Literie confortable, personnel sympathique mais les 2 points très négatifs sont :
- chambre très petite, inhabituelle pour du Mercure
- parking étroit, places difficiles d’accès avec les poutres. La prochaine fois s’il y a je préférerai me garer à l’extérieur.
