The accommodation was perfect, located in Old Town Rhodes, it was rich in history, immaculate, with very comfortable beds. Our host was brilliant, helping us with any requests and the daily breakfasts were incredible (fresh local produce were AMAZING)

A wonderful place to stay in the old town

This is a wonderful place to stay. Our room was very spacious and clean and quite beautiful. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. The location is fantastic, close to shops and many good restaurants, particularly Nomad and Mezzanine Luna. Theodore and Elena are excellent hosts!

We had another reservation that we made through Expedia, when we arrived there, the place was still under construction! We had it out with the owner, since we felt it had been misrepresented. Anyway, I went onto Expedia and found Spirit of the Knights, located in Old Town Rhodes. Just a warning that this boutique hotel is located inside the walls of the ancient medieval Old Town. We drove in with a small car following Google Maps, only to find we really shouldn't have done that. The streets are quite narrow, and you cannot drive to the Spirit of the Knights. Instead, park outside near the San Francisco Church then let the owners of Spirit know you've arrived and they will come with a golf cart to the SF Church Gate. There are several gates and there may be other areas to park. The hotel was lovely and quiet, more like a bed and breakfast since breakfast is made to order by the owners. Great way to start the day. The town of Old Rhodes is wonderful to explore. The only issue we had was we didn't realize there is an off season for the island of Rhodes, most places don't open till late april, early may. Almost all of the hotels I checked with didn't operate their pools during the off season, and a lot of restaurants and shops are not open till the regular season. Wish we knew thet before we arrived. But we will be coming back to Spirit of the Knight again soon, with friends! Thank you, Eleana, Theador, and Manolis, for a lovely stay.

Our family stayed here for several days. The hotel is beautiful and has a well kept and relaxing courtyard. We also enjoyed a fantastic breakfast. The hosts were always available and were accommodating by helping us with taxi reservations and transport out of the old town. We will definitely stay here when we are back in Rhodes.

While had booked the crusader suite for stay with cousins, due to an issue with the bathroom before we arrived we were relocated to a different hotel elsewhere in the old town. The new room was considerably smaller, had none of the amenities which made us choose this property and none of its character. We also ended up sharing a small double and a roll-out couch rather than each having our own bed. So all in all not a good expecierence. As compensation our new room had a small (perhaps enough for a glass for 1 person), open, bottle of wine left in it. Left feeling ripped off and let down.

This is a lovely boutique hotel with 6 rooms in a restored 400 year old building. The rooms are comfortable with historic decor and an excellent included breakfast is served in the private garden with flowers and water features. The staff couldn’t be more accommodating.

Beautiful historical property, in the old town, renovated with love, and run with the same care and attention. A relaxing oasis in the hustle and bustle of the cobbled streets and within a short walking distance of shops and restaurants, and the sites. The service was excellent, with Duncan and Glenna go above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible; booking a taxi and a rental car for me, a personal escort on arrival at night, with luggage trolly back to the hotel, and to collect the car on check out. I heard other guests asking for help booking city guides which, again, they accommodated. Not to mention the lovely breakfast! Thank you guys. I highly recommend this hidden gem.

The location and feeling like we were staying in building dating back to medieval times beautifully renovated with details preserved ready for contemporary needs.

The staff was very nice and trying to meet our needs. Our only complaint to the staff was the need for better lighting in the bathrooms and library. The level of lighting made it difficult to read, even in bed. Maybe a dimmer would work or a lamp next to seating areas. Otherwise only raves!

Loved this place. Down a couple of quiet streets, off the beaten path and when we arrived in the beautifully landscaped patio we knew we had made the right choice. A Unique Experience

A great stay. The location was ideal. You were close to everything in the old town. The service and staff were outstanding. A very old building that has been updated, but still retains many of it's original features which makes it a unique experience. The rooms were quite large and the brekfast was very good.If I was to visit Rhodes again this hotel would be my first choice

Atmospheric and welcoming hotel in Rhodes

Spirit of the Knights Hotel is a comfortable, atmospheric, charming hotel. Built in the 15th century, the building has been beautifully and completely renovated from the rubble that survived. Excellent staff, excellent breakfast. Walk from the city gate to hotel on arrival set the tone for a memorable visit. About 20 steps up to the rooms but we use canes and were able to do it.

The experience was absolutely wonderful. Full menu of cook to order breakfast all included. It’s not just continental breakfast, it’s fancy multi course breakfast that you don’t need lunch for the day. That’s a cost saving factor! Bed is very comfortable. They provide free bottled water every day. Plenty of towels to use. Beautifully decorated inside. Duncan, the manager was very helpful and always pleasant. He helped move our luggage with his cart in and out of the old town during check in and check out process. I have the wonderful feeling of being treated like a guest, instead of a customer. Everyone in my family really enjoyed staying here. It’s not cheap, but I feel like my money was well spent. Completely worth it!

Spirit of the Knights was an interesting place to stay. Very helpful operators of the hotel. Out of the way location in the Old Town had its pluses and minuses. Greatest concern has to do with safety. Shower in the tub was very slippery. No grab bar. Hot water is hot enough to burn. Lighting in bathroom appropriate for a dimly lit bar. Wifi needs improvement. Steps to second floor are too high, but difficult to change. Worth staying in Old Town when visiting Rhodes and this hotel has a lot of character.

The Best Place to Stay in Rhodes

An exceptional place to stay. It is a family run hotel and each person goes above and beyond to optimize your experience and help in anyway possible. Thank you to Chirs, Elena, and Duncan. We had to be at the airport by 4:00am for an early flight. Chris prepared a breakfast and helped transport our luggage a couple blocks to where the taxi was waiting. The people know the area and will help organize activities or recommend what to do.

The hotel is centrally located in Old Town and makes for easy access to many of the prime tourist destinations. The room is clean and beautifully designed. The breakfast is incredible. Do not miss the opportunity for a fresh breakfast. The wi-fi works well in the room.

A beautiful boutique oasis in old Rhodes town

Spirit of the Knight is a beautiful boutique Hotel, tastefully decorated in Byzantine style and enclosing a pretty secluded garden, with a plunge pool. The service is friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay at Spirit and highly recommend staying inside Rhodes Old town, its wonderful with plenty to see and do.

Lovely hotel on the outskirts of the old town. Quiet, with a medieval theme / feel. Spacious room with all the trimmings. My partner loved the ante-room with plentiful books, chess board. Beautiful small garden with a dip pool for cooling off and where a Local or international breakfast available. But the best part of this hotel without a doubt was Duncan, one of the driest witted, most British, hard working hotel concierges who's restaurant recommendations were spot on and who was always available to help.

The hotel is an oasis - pure indulgence
It was an exceptional experience from the moment Nino met us with a handcart to roll our bags to the hotel, since no cars can enter the old city. He really went out of his way to make two weary island hoppers feel welcome and so comfortable.
The room was a gorgeous suite, complete with hamman bath and the garden was the perfect site for breakfast and relaxing anytime of day.
Our waiter Christos was a ray of sunshine each morning, and the housekeeper Helena did our laundry - we were so grateful!
Everything at Spirit of the Knights is set up for pamering and enjoyment, from the beautiful portokalopita each morning at breakfast to the great advice about not missing the opportunity to explore the city walls, the beach at Lindos and Nereya's for fish!

Comfort, Location, Ambience, Friendliness, Helpfulness, Value - check!!!

My two sons and I stayed here in late May and it was easily the best hotel experience of our entire Greek adventure. We reserved through Expedia and very quickly received a helpful email about various options for our arrival.

They are in the old city and they walked out to meet our cab at the gate in the walls. They took our bags for us on a handcart and whisked them up to our room while we sipped on a complimentary (and quite refreshing!) glass of cold white wine in the lovely, shaded garden (which is also where they serve a terrific full English breakfast).

The 3 of us shared the Ottoman room - the air conditioning worked very well as it was quite hot out, the beds were quite comfortable (the room has a loft for the second bed, so everyone had some space) and the room is beautifully appointed. The bathroom and in fact the entire hotel is fairly new and has everything you need, and yet the look and feel puts you back in the age of Suleiman and the Knights of Rhodes.

A final point -- our experience points to the generosity of the staff. It happened that our room was not reserved on the night of our departure and we were not flying out until late in the evening. They very kindly let us keep the room for the whole day which made a great base of operation for us as we walked all over the town - it allowed us to take a quick break or two from the heat and really enhanced our visit.

An Oasis

This is a very special place. The restoration is a labor of love. Very authentic with beautiful styling. Tucked away in the old town so very quite and welcome after the hustle and bustle of touristy Rhodes! Staff are wonderful and happy to help with anything. Rooms beautiful with super comfy beds. Loved snoozing in the garden, cool and serene in the hottest part of the day, helped by a quick cooling off in the plunge pool. Planning to return after some nights in Symi and Lindos!

One of the best hotel stays, highly, highly recommend booking this place. The property itself is wonderful, a little oasis in the heart of the old city; the room was fantastic, spacious, wonderfully decorated, comfortable, huge bathroom. The service takes this place to another level, so personalized and tailored to make your trip to Rhodes a great one. The breakfast here was absolutely delicious, made to order and tailored to each person- it was the best we had during our trip to Greece, and although the hotel doesn't have a restaurant for other meals, they suggested nearby restaurants that were also some of the best meals we had in Greece. The hotel has a lovely patio for relaxing or grabbing a drink, the wifi was great, and overall, cannot recommend this hotel more!

What a find! Since it is off-season in Rhodes I wasn’t sure what kind of accommodation I would find. But this boutique property was great. From start to finish the service was wonderful. Personalized. Flexible to accommodate my needs. Beautiful spacious room. Lovely, clean bathroom. Nice breakfast. Fantastic and unique decor that is in keeping with the Old Town but sprinkled with modern touches. I would highly recommend and plan to come back. My only note of caution...don’t wear high heels. The streets off the Old Town are not condusive.

Absolutely stunning hotel in the Old Town

When we decided to visit Rhodes, we thought it best to stay in the Old Town for a few nights, followed by going somewhere further down the coastline. In many ways we wish we spent our whole time at The Spirit of the Knights. As soon as we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. We stayed in the Crusader Suite, which was superb. It felt like we had stepped back in time (in a luxurious way), and we had the absolute best nights' sleep in the bed. Breakfast was a wonderful event, served in their beautiful garden. No mass produced buffet here. Everything was made to order, and of such high standards. The whole experience was incredibly relaxing. It almost felt a shame to leave each day to go off sightseeing. It's location meant that we were never far away from the things we wanted to see.

My biggest praise goes to Duncan, who went above and beyond for us. It is those little personal touches that make a hotel experience enjoyable, and he was brilliant at this. Every recommendation was spot on, and he couldn't do enough to help us. I whole heartedly recommend the Spirit of the Knights to anyone who wants to stay in the Old Town.

We stayed here for a week in September and had a fantastic time. The location is great only a short walk from all the hustle and bustle of the Old Town yet far enough away to be so tranquil. The owners are the perfect hosts and you almost feel that you are part of the family. Nothing is too much trouble for them and the breakfasts are first class.

Comfort within ancient walls

Great staff, wonderful included bfast, amazing location within the ancient fortress (you have the streets to yourself after dark), walking distance to everything (actually you have to walk as there are no cars allowed inside the unesco heritage listed ancient fortress), antiques and beautiful carpets and furnishings, a small pool, peaceful: what more could you ask for. And so much history on your doorstep. My only comment would be that the rooms aren't totally soundproof between floors, so if you are a light sleeper, perhaps bear this in mind.

Unique boutique hotel in Rhodes historic area.

We needed somewhere to stay in Rhodes for 2 nights before boarding a boat at The Marina there. We chose this hotel because it was highly recommended on the Expedia Website. We were not disappointed. If you enjoy places that are out of the ordinary and a little quirky and different, then this is for you. Add to that the comfortable rooms and the warm and welcoming atmosphere provided by the delightful staff at this family-run hotel, and you will not be disappointed.

A quiet oasis with exceptional charm

An overall A+++ grade is well deserved! If you are looking for a unique hotel experience in Old Town Rhodes away from the din of the pedestrian tourist traffic, look no further....From being met at The D'Amboise Gate by charming Uri to entering the peaceful garden of the hotel, our early morning flight arrival in Rhodes was made wonderful
by enjoying a delicious made-to-order breakfast inside their beautiful garden, listening to the calming noise of the garden fountain. Alex, the general manager, was welcoming and helpful in giving suggestions of an initial walk through Old Town while awaiting our room to be cleaned for our check-in after the present occupants left. The room we stayed in was beautifully furnished in its period style (it also had a loft with 2 additional twin beds and a TV). There was a spacious common area (living room/library) filled with books, chess sets and interesting decorations). If one wanted to further relax, there is a wonderful whirlpool in the garden. Off the beaten tourist path (but only a few minutes walk from the town square), there are no extraneous noises to interrupt one's sleep. Even the bedroom walls are extra thick, so there is no noise from the adjacent guest rooms. The evening manager Duncan was always helpful in his dining suggestions as well as giving assistance with any questions regarding local touring inquiries. A day trip to Lindos is a must in order to see its Acropolis as well as its picturesque beaches.

Wonderful place for a holiday even out of season . A quiet safe area yet fairly close to all the museums in the old city. Five stars.
The decor is beautiful, comfortable and clean. superb choice of reading and many guide books in several languages in the well stocked library /lobby .

Incredible stay in Rhodes

We were really looking forward to our stay in Rhodes at Spirit of the Nights and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip to Greece. Alex and the team couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. It was the perfect location for us to explore the town and close to great restaurants. Our son loved the resident cats- Early Grey & his sister whom he nick named Pekoe. The courtyard is peaceful and beautiful and our breakfast was wonderful. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Rhodes and looking for an exceptional experience.

Beautiful quaint hotel in the old town

This boutique hotel really captured the elegance and charm of the old city of Rhodes nestled into the back alleyways. The rooms were absolutely stunning with so much character and the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. They even made us breakfast at 430am to accommodate our early flight. The rooms were decorated with antique furniture and modern appliances and the coming living room had an excellent library.

Proprietor Alex emailed prior to reassure the risk due to capital controls imposed (\"the Greek Crisis\") would not impact on our stay. A separate email provided options to ensured our smooth transfer on arrival to the hotel. Alex made us feel welcome: starting with a complimentary cocktail (of our choice) by the jacuzzi. The outdoor entertaining area is quiet and relaxing.

Duncan took over and encouraged we enjoy the Old Town, which we found captivating. The hotel location is slightly off the beaten track and highly recommended. After our night out we looked forward to a quality breakfast, which did not disappoint. The omelette is the best I've ever had (serious)!

As we had an evening departure flight, we requested a late checkout. We were delighted to have our room till 3:30pm, the time we needed to leave for the airport. Alex understood we were travelling to Kastellorizo for two nights and returning to Rhodes. Alex kindly offered to keep our check-in baggage securely. We were very relieved we could travel more lightly with day-packs to Kastellorizo. Nothing is too much to ask. The hospitality is truly memorable and appreciated. We recommended this hotel to anyone seeking to spend time in the Rhodes.

Great Stay

I came for 2 nights with a friend. We had a really great stay. The owners went out of their for us--great information, breakfast and tips on where to go. The hotel is also very unique. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for great service, comfort and fun experience.
