This is such a great place to stay when visting Old Town. The beds are very comfortable and the AC works well. We were in room 9 and there were no issues with noise from the parking lot. The breakfast (€10) is a perfect start to the day. It is very easy to navigate through the old town from there. Would recommend Nireas for really good seafood nearby. Very easy to get in and out through the Kolona Gate (Sea Gate). Would love to return and stay here again!

Breakfast was very nice ont the terrace. Rooms were comfortable and clean and staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Sofia was not there during our stay because she was awaiting knee surgery. But Foula, her daughter, and Filippos, Foula's son, filled in seamlessly. They were so helpful and had some great suggestions. Cars are not allowed into Old Town and when we left Foula was unable to get us a golf cart to take us to the taxi meeting point outside the walls. She arranged for a taxi that had a permit to come inside the walls and then she walked with us to the taxi pickup point to make sure we got there on time. Walking around Old Town can be very confusing, even after being there for 5 days. We will stay again and had a great time!!! Thanks so much Foula and Filippos!!!!!!

Perfect Location with Local Charm

This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the Old Town—close to everything, yet tucked away on a quiet street so you can escape the bustle. The staff were warm and welcoming, making our late check-in effortless. Just around the corner you’ll find a supermarket and laundromat, and you’re only minutes from the famous Marco Polo restaurant. The rooftop terrace is a lovely spot to relax after a day of exploring, with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. Don’t miss the local wine bar just a two-minute walk away—it offers excellent tastings of Greek wines and is a must-do experience during your stay.

Was in a fabulous location right in the old town. Owner organised us a taxi from the airport (would def recommend that). 15 mins walk to the ferry port. Air conditioning worked well and you can sit out on the veranda for your morning coffee. So many good bars and restaurants in the old town. Recommend Zebrano up by the castle.

Sofia and her family have a lovely hotel that is about a 10 minute walk from the ferry and inside the walls of Old Towne. They were very hospitable!
It was a little hard to find the hotel at first but google maps lead us right to it!

The breakfast was amazing but double check that it’s included in what you booked. Otherwise it’s $10/euro per person per day. Well worth it - but just confirm it’s included in your reservation.

The owner was a lovely and very helpful lady. We loved breakfast on the terrace and most days returned from outings and sat and read there. The accommodation was very clean and quaint. Some of the holiday makers return there because they loved it so much. If you want to stop in the old town I would recommend staying here.

This is an excellent little hotel in the middle of the old town, very convenient for everything, and in a quiet narrow street not visited by many tourists. The room was very nice, with a comfortable bed and the usual facilities. The owner was friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our time at Sofia Pension. Fantastic location, without all the noises of being near so many shops and restaurants. A grocery store is right around the corner and the rooms have great fridge/freezer! Clean rooms, AC, great talks and information from the owner/manager. Would definitely stay here again:)

Excellent location in the old town. The room did not have any windows at the eye level, and was quite dark, with little storage space. No information about the hotel was provided at check in, the internet service was poor, and the a/c was noisy and only worked when we were in the room, which made the room quite hot. Otherwise a good quiet hotel within walking distance to the major attractions.

The location of this hotel is amazing!! It's right in the centre of the beautiful medieval city of Rhodes. There are many restaurants, cafes, and bars nearby, but this hotel is just far enough away that you're not disturbed by any noise. The property is pretty and quaint. The people who run it are lovely, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this little family run hotel.

A gem in the old town.

After visiting Rhodes about ten times over the last 39 years (!) we finally discovered this wonderful hotel less than 150 metres from the main shopping area, tavernas and bars, and really wish we had found it years ago.

From the start, communication was superb, with almost instant replies to our questions. Late check in was explained perfectly, though in the end not necessary as the taxi driver let us in, and even carried our bags up to the room! We asked them to arrange a taxi to take us from the airport to the hotel inside the city walls and they arranged that wonderfully. Moses was brilliant (it's worth booking him just for the ride through the narrowest streets ever, packed with shoppers and merchandise!)

The room was clean and very attractive, the bed comfortable and, as everyone mentions, contains a refrigerator, which is a fabulous touch.

Breakfast is well worth the price, and the lady serving us (who also cleaned the rooms) was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble.

In order to provide balance we should, I suppose, mention the only negative - the towels are as scratchy as hell. There, that's it. Nothing else.

From now on, this is the only place in Rhodes Town that we would ever consider staying, thank you so much for everyone for making our holiday one of the best ever.

A wonderful and characterful property in the heart of the mediaeval old town of Rhodes, run by the pleasant and helpful Sofiya. I stayed for a week at the beginning of the season (arriving 28 March) and the only downside of staying that early in the year was that my room was rather cold during the first few days and there was no heating, but that wouldn't be a problem later in the Spring or in the Summer.

Most taxi drivers are nor permitted to enter the narrow lanes of the old town but Sofiya can arrange for a local taxi driver with a permit to collect you from the airport.

A lovely small Pension

A lovely pension in the old city of Rhodes. Our room was very clean, light and was more than adequate for our needs. It even came with a fridge which was a bonus. We chose to have breakfast and were very happy we did so as we got to try Sofia's lovely homemade comquat jam. Sightseeing was very easy as the pension is in easy walking distance of most attractions.

Sofia's pension is in the heart of Rhodes Old Town, the perfect location near shopping and unforgettable sightseeing. Sofia is still the owner and continues to treat guests as friends in her home. The inn is a gardener's paradise, with blooming plants and vines, and the rooftop patio has views like no other. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the neighborhood is charming.
For short stays of just a day or two, or longer stays like the one I've recently enjoyed, the quality and enjoyment of Sofia's pension can't be beat.

Sofia is a wonderful hostess and we enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace each morning. Sofia's Pension gives an authentic Old Town experience and is located minutes from the taxi stand, shopping and restaurants. You do have to walk with your luggage to get to there.

Fabulous ‘boutique’ accommodation in a quiet area of Old Town, near enough to the tourist ‘stretch’ to be convenient and far enough away from it to be peaceful. Easy walking access to the harbour (5 -10 mins) and beaches of Rhodes Town (20-30 mins). Sophia and her family were the perfect hosts: friendly and attentive without being ‘in-your-face’. The simple ‘Continental’ breakfast had a variety of local foods and provided an enjoyable and for-filling way to start the day. Locally there is an amazing Greek bakery and a must-visit Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant (To Marouli), amongst the standard Tavernas of Rhodes Town. Expect a warm and cordial Greek welcome with polite hospitality. The perfect accommodation for anyone wishing to experience Old Town Rhodes.

A wonderful and relaxing stay. Sophia and her husband were welcoming and friendly. We started each day with the tasty and plentiful breakfast they provided for 5 euro extra. Breakfast was on a beatiful terrace a few steps from our room. Room was quiet, clean and spacious. The only negative i can thik of was the shower was a bit cramped. The pension is on a narrow cobbled street within the old city. The location was a few minutes walk from the centre of the old city and the waterfront but away from the crowds providing an atmosphere where you could imagine youself in the time the old city was new. Near many restaurants and the museums and shops in the old town and the new. I would choose this pension again if i return to rhodes.

Mrs Sophia and Mr Philippos are a lovely, welcoming couple. They were there with any extra need we had, not that we needed much more as everything was already there. Spanking clean rooms and bathrooms, we slept with the window open to take in the fragrance of her climbing jasmin shrub in the warm nights we stayed there, a luxury of a different kind.

We loved staying at pension Sophia. Sophia's husband came and met us from our taxi at about midnight. It's in the heart of the old town with no access for cars or Taxi's. Probably about 10 mins walk from the Taxi drop off point. Enjoyed breakfast on the terrace felt like we were sitting in a garden. Sophia very friendly and made us a good breakfast, boiled egg toast, Greek yoghurt and honey, fruit. The hotel is in the tradtional Greek style which is part of it's charm. When we needed to get the early boat to Symi Sophia kindly made us an early breakfast. The bed was comfy and the aircon worked well. Bathroom could possibly do with updating in the not too distant future. Would we go back? - yes!
Lot's of steps up to rooms so not great if you have mobility difficulties.

A calm relaxing place 2 minutes from the shops and restaurants. Sophia herself is a lovely welcoming lady and gave us tea and cake on arrival. The room was spotless with fridge, kettle etc. It was a good size with a modern bathroom attached. Opt for Sophia's breakfast as she gives you a good selection. We only found one other place nearby for breakfast and it wasnt great. Overall Sophia's Pension is an excellent place to stay.

As the taxi driver could not drive in the old town the owner met us and took our cases. Sofia his wife warmly welcomed us with tea and a cake and during our stay was very helpful in sorting out any problems ,providing us with local information , where to go and where to eat out . the breakfast was adequate , the best feature being the homemade yogurt and pear.The pension was sited in a very quiet unspoilt interesting part ot the town and the experience was that of staying in a family environment .

We stayed here for a week. Our room was large, however there were no windows at a level you could see out of. The beds are very firm, which may be ok for some. The shower, although small was good with enough pressure & hot water. Breakfast is the same each morning, although Sofia did offer to make omelette if we wished. The point to remember is that it is two stars & in that respect it's as you'd expect. We would stay here again but probably not for a week

Charming small pension located in the Old town \n

We loved staying here. The hosts were most welcoming , Sofia always on hand with little treats. Room 8 had a huge bed and a high ceiling adding to the space. Breakfast was eaten on one of the different levels in the morning sunshine, checkout the rooftop terrace that was almost deserted during our stay, a great place to catch the sun in the evening. Great location with plenty of highly recommended eateries , bakery and a mini market. We would happily stay again!

Return visit to a real Greek gem.

Sofia's is our go to spot in Rhodes Old Town. Perfectly situated for wandering the atmospheric streets. Clean rooms, comfy beds, plenty of storage and fantastic breakfasts. A rooftop seating area to catch the breeze and views over the city. Not ideal for anyone with mobility problems, but you have to be sure footed when walking around the old town. Not accessible by taxi but they can get quite near. Definitely recommended by us.

Perfect location in centre of old town, close to everything. Rooms basic but very clean and comfortable with lots of space and good aircon. Excellent breakfast and really helpful owners. When we had to pick up our hire car outside the old town (where no hire cars are allowed) they happily drove us there with our luggage.

Not easy to find among the sprawling little alleys and passages but once you find it, it's easy to navigate. Nice little hotel with only six rooms, quiet in the evenings and friendly owners who speak good English. For the price a fair sized room in good condition, working AC and fridge. A supermarket is moments away and the main Street within the walled city is about one minute on foot. WiFi was reliable, room was cleaned daily and can't really fault any aspect - very much in proportion to the price paid.

We presumed that 'free parking' meant that we could park next to the hotel, but this is not the way it happens! Once you are just outside the Old Town walls, telephone Sophia the owner, or walk 10 minutes to find her - after 2pm. She will then collect your cases and take you and them back to the hotel in her car. There's plenty of free parking around the outside of the Old Wall. And this was no problem at all!

Charming, Convenient, and Inexpensive

Sofia's is centrally located in the Old Town of Rhodes, but it is not the easiest place to find. There are two types of maps of the Old Town: the accurate one and the inaccurate one. Both copies are commonly found throughout the city. The one you want is from the tourism office. It matches the one on the official city \"You Are Here\" posters.
Sofia lived in New York for ten years, so her English is fine. The hotel is wonderfully charming. It is at the intersection of two streets - one is lovely while the other is sketchy/run down. Safety is not a concern (and I traveled with my seven year old daughter. Our room was quiet at all times even though the night life can get active in the Old Town. The A/C and the wifi work well. Unlike many European showers, this one's size is fit for an American. Also, it is much less expensive than many hotels in the area.

Sofia was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. We only stayed one night on route to Symi but we would definitely go back. The hotel is a wee bit tricky to find, so get directions. The breakfast on the terrace is a highlight.

What a lovely little hotel tucked away in the Old Town! Sophia and her husband were very hospitable and we would go back there in a heartbeat!!
Mke sure you let them know when you are arriving so they can meet you at the bus station or one of the gates to the Old Town as the taxis (no outside cars) are allowed in so we had to pull our suitcases a long way over cobbled stone roads!! She would have been happy to pick us up had we have known!!! Some of the surrounding buildings down the lane ways are boarded up and creepy looking so was not sure about walking around at night, but have we had been there a couple of days you felt ok. Overall a lovely little place and we would go back there in a heartbeat!!

Great place to stay in Rhodes!

The Sofia Pension hotel is a great place to stay in Rhodes. It's very close to the center of the Old Town, but slightly away from the hustle and bustle, which makes it nice and quiet. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the charming owner, Sofia, served us a delicious breakfast every morning on the patio. Plus her husband helped us with our luggage and even drove us the ferry when we were leaving. The price was so reasonable that my expectations were lower, so I was pleasantly surprised by what a good place it turned out to be. I would definitely stay there again!

A locked door on the arrival day

I don't really understand why they don't even have a doorbell at the door. When we arrived, we found the door was locked so we knocked it but nobody answered. We didn't have the sim card ready so we couldn't call Sofia. That's why we sat outside hoping our host would come back soon. Luckily, their neighbor was very nice and helped us give a call. It was totally frustrating when we found out was that our host was actually INSIDE!
When it came to the day we checked out, we returned to get our luggage, and the same thing happened AGAIN! This time, I tried to call as I finally got my sim ready. Sofia said her husband was there but no one answered the door. She tried to call him, we knew it because we could hear the ringtone from the door. And god blessed because some guests were coming back with a key so we could finally get our luggage back and get on the plane on time.
I really hope they can get a doorbell and it can help fix a lot of problems.

Feeling of home during the holidays!

Sofia made us feel like we were staying at an aunt's house! The rooms are cleaned every day, the linens changed regularly and the breakfast (extra charge) is very balanced & delicious, and served at the patio! The pansion is located inside the walls of Old Town, less than 5' from the centre of action, but it's very quiet, so you can sleep peacefully. Fantastic hostess

Our late arrival was greeted by Sofia herself, with a smile, an offer of refreshment and a feeling of home. Room was very clean and comfortable. Sofia herself couldn't do enough for us, breakfast was delicious. Very convenient for old town.

A gem in the Old Medieval City of Rhodes!

Perfect! Sofia and her husband were perfect hosts. She greeted us with coffees and muffins she baked for us on arrival. They drove not only our luggage but all 13 of us including others staying at another hotel to the bus that took us to the airport. We were right in the Old City - excellent location. The first morning of our stay she provided a marvellous serving on the rooftop of coffee, homemade baking and some fruit free of charge - not only for the 8 of us staying there but for the 5 others who weren't! She was wonderful. We couldn't be more pleased. Highly recommend this Pension.
