Very basic B&B with an excellent location. It is on the 2nd Floor (3rd floor American) of the building so there is some necessary climbing. The room was fine. The bathroom is good. I could barely sleep however as the heater in the room was oppressive. You'd turn it off and it would turn itself back on about an hour later. I woke up sweating multiple times for two nights. No matter what I did (turned off, turned the temperature down as low as it would go, etc) - it still came on full blast.

Great room, great location and view, amazing staff, included a breakfast and the staff would make you a variety of coffee types. Only negative would be lack of elevator (only an issue for the first trip up and down with luggage)

The only real negative thing no elevator and breakfast was not available at the location however a block down the road at their sister Hotel they did provide us with breakfast other than that very enjoyable stay very clean room very quiet even though being right on the marketplace if you're there to do shopping you can't beat this spot

1-It isn’t mentioned anywhere that we have to carry our bags for 2 floors and there’s no one to help.
2-The lady comes in the morning at like 7, and speaks so loud without any consideration that people are sleeping 2 meters away since it’s actually an apartment with different rooms.
3-It is mentioned nowhere that the movable stores wake you up everyday at 6…so it’s centered yes but with so much inconvenience as well as late sleep because of the bar downstairs and wake up at 6 because of the street shops and tents.

Il Mercato Centrale offers an excellent central location right in the heart of the San Lorenzo Market district. From the moment you step inside, the building gives an atmosphere of a traditional Florentine residence. You can see that it was once a private apartment with beautiful high ceilings, which has been thoughtfully converted into several guest rooms with a shared breakfast area.
Staff are present mainly in the mornings and early afternoons. Staying here felt like living in a local home, yet having the independence to come and go as you please.
Our room was spacious, spotless, and very well maintained. The mini fridge was perfect for keeping drinks cool, and we appreciated the complimentary beverages provided on arrival. A continental breakfast was included in the rate—simple, yet good quality and more than enough to keep us going until lunchtime.
One of the highlights of our stay was meeting Bouchra. She greeted us warmly at check-in and served breakfast throughout most of our visit. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine hospitality made our stay truly memorable. Thank you, Bouchra, for your wonderful care and conversation. Hope to see you again soon! A presto!

Location was convenient and walking distance from the train station and major attractions. Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom lacks furniture to place clothes or towels. Hot water in the shower is nice. Bed and pillows are comfortable. Breakfast is really good and kept us full for a long time. Unfortunately A/C is timed controlled and without A/C with the windows open the noise outside starts at 4 am and will not let you sleep at all. That is extremely unfortunate and could be easily solved if they would let the guest control the A/C for the full night. There is a steep stair to access the B&B 2 stories up. No elevator.

The room is exceptional. Comfortable bed and heat to have a coffee machine in the room. Free beverages in mini bar which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was superb.
Only bad thing is no elevator not good for kids or elderly.
Noise is really bad when it’s nighttime and early morning as the leather market is right outside below the windows.

We stayed in the Blu room. Everything was great, Bruscha (I think is her name) was wonderful. She took care of the check-in, cleaning and breakfast. Place was clean and very close to all the attractions, we walked everywhere. Breakfast was sufficient, a couple cold cuts, boiled egg, assorted pastries and bread and coffee to order. The mini fridge was stocked with complimentary drinks.

Only con was that the AC kept cutting out at night, but I think it’s an Italy thing because it happened with our other hotels. Temperature wise, it was cool enough in October that we can open the window and be fine. The downside was that the market is right outside and was very noisy throughout the night (with the window open). We would be back!

Allows leaving bags before checking in and after checking out. You will have to walk in from a block or two away due to busy market in the streets during the day

This is really more of a B&B than a hotel. The entrance was not marked well but once you know where it is, it is an easy entrance. Thwre are 3 steep flights up the stairs (no elevator) The location is very close to all the major sights and you can walk everywhere. There are excellent restaurants in walking distance. The service provided by staff was excellent and the room was very spacious, and came with a filled small frosge that was free to use. The only downside to this location is the noise - the daily market with very touristy vendors is open until 7 pm daily and the cleanup takes place until late at night, then there are people out and about late at night, and then at 6 am the vendors for the market start setting up again. But the convience to everything was well worth it.

Very easy and convenient location. Host was very accommodating and let us check in early. Breakfast was more than expected with a variety of pastries, yogurt, juices, coffee, fruit and cereal.

I may have misread only 4 stairs to the hotel, but it was 4 stories of stairs. A difficulty for my husband.

The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable, and bath supplies plentiful.

Very nice and they let us leave our luggage after checkout to retrieve later. I recommend Hotel Il Mercato Centrale… part of the marketplace and next to Pinocchio Restaurant… a favorite of ours.

This hotel exceeded my expectations! They really thought of everything — not just shampoo and shower gel, but also toothbrushes, toothpaste, little chocolates, and a few free drinks in the minibar.

When I checked in, the AC was already on — such a small thing, but it makes a big difference and was so appreciated. Staff also helped me find ideal parking for my large car, and earplugs were provided since the street can get a bit noisy at night.

Breakfast had a nice variety: pastries, boiled eggs, cereal, and juices. And the location is perfect — everything is within a 15-minute walk.

It’s not just a room, it’s an experience. Highly recommend!

It took us a bit to find the unit but once we did we really like the location! Unit was clean and centrally located. Il Mercato centrale was right across the street! It got a bit loud in the mornings when the leather carts were setting in for the day but besides that we absolutely enjoyed our stay!

This was not a real hotel, but a room in a former apartment. It’s also far from the ponte vecchio, their profile pic.

Despite the dirty hallway with trash in it and the unpleasant central market location, the place itself was clean and cute.

We were able to drop our bags off prior to check in and this was such a bonus. The young girl in charge even helped us carry our suitcases up the. stairs and was incredibly helpful with any questions or requests. The room was very well equipped, even having a mini bar with free drinks. Breakfast was basic but good. The only down side for us was the noise from the markets and market square. This was not softened by shutters but on the bright side, they did provide ear plugs. Very clean and central for a stay in Florence.

Great hosts. Fantastic location but on top of the market so not super quiet. 4 flights of stairs so be prepared. Not convenient for cars. Must park in parking garage a few blocks away for 40euro per night. The central Mercado is awesome. Just outside the door.

The apartment is in a great location, it’s clean and comfortable and has lots of cosy extras the hosts have taken the time to put together including amazingly clear instructions on the apartment and restaurants and where to visit etc. They are a lovely couple who assisted us with where to park our car and chat to us on arrival. Parking is in a valet parking car park right near the apartment and all the sights are a stones throw from the door. The market is in the square as well.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We notified our hosts that we would arrive a couple hours earlier than the check in time and they had our room available when we arrived. We stayed in the Blue room and it was very clean and modern and the location is great - just 10 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella train station and 5 minutes from the cathedral. The 2 girls who were working there were very friendly. The only downside I can say is you need to walk up 4 floors to reach the property so just be prepared for that. I would definitely stay here again.

Great apartment right next to the central market.
You would think it would be loud but, all the vendors go away every evening and it gets very quiet. The bed was comfortable the bathroom was well put together and there was a free breakfast every morning.
We walked all over Florence and enjoyed coming back to our nice comfortable room.

This place was a bit unexpected, and this made finding the right door a bit challenging. Once inside, all was great. The bed was very comfortable and the view from the window was entertaining. The true WOW was the breakfast. Sadly, we missed one day because of a tour. The host brought fresh-baked pasteries, cheeses, meats, fruit, and juice. He also brewed us coffee to order and explained the different foods and the people who had made them in their local shops. Delightful and yummy! We would stay here again without hesitation.

We arrived at well after their posted check-in hours (almost midnight) and hadn't expected to see anyone until the next morning. But to our surprise the host was there waiting for us to show us around. He was unbelievably friendly and helpful. They also had everything we could need - including free drinks in the mini bar because it was so hot while we were there. The location is also perfect. It was cool to be able to watch people setting up for the market right outside our window. We can't say enough nice things about this place.

The contacts at the property we so kind and so helpful. There is continental breakfast included and they serve you themselves. I was trying to rescheduled my car rental pick up for a later time and the host graciously called them and handled it in Italian for us. Cute and clean rooms close to Duomo. I wish we would have checked out the Central Market sooner! Full of takeaway food etc. The only thing to know is it is four full flights of steps to the rooms. Would stay there again.

Great B&B - SUPER CLEAN!!! - Recently remodeled with new modern bathroom.
AMAZING Breakfast!!!... Mario (the Owner) made sure all servings were fresh and delicious!... I cannot say enough good things about Mario. He gave us (and others) great tips on local restaurants, monuments, museums and nearby towns to visit. Should we go back to Florence (which I'm sure we will) I will definitely stay here again!
