I did not stay overnight. As soon as I arrived I realized it was nothing like the photos. I sent pics to Expedia and they immediately remedied the situation. I left and stayed for an actual hotel, not a house of ill repute. There's a reason it's that cheap. The locals even warn you about it.

Really good stay. Room big enough, always clean, good service in general. This hotel is underrated because it is actually pretty good value for the money. Only downside was limited TV channels with just 2 English and sports channels.

Fine overall experience

the receptionist asked me a couple of questions indicated that he does not know how expedia online booking work, after he looked like facing difficulties to find my reservation he asked me whether I already checked in online or not !! then he said \"\" why did you choose a twin room while you are single?!\"\". He also made me wait for about 10 minutes to finish the pray without having a temporary substitute !!

My Experience at Monroe Hotel MANAMA, Bahrain

My stay was good...certain staff members were excellent...my observations are: treat people with Dignity and Respect and they will treat you likewise. In some instances certain staff went out of their way to help with issues, in particular the Manager and the restaurant staff...they we excellent. The morning breakfast was outstanding...I found myself frustrated when I woke up late past the breakfast deadline. The Chef would always inquire as to how I like his preparations. I was on the 12th. Floor. The music on the first floor could be a problem for units close by. Door staff...excellent. Price was outstanding. Overall 3-4 stars.

I experience my worst nightmare because of many tiny bugs on the hotel's bed sheet. The hotel staff immediately quarantine the room and they transferred us to the upper room. But its too late already because we slept already and woke-up with rushes so we informed immediately to the staff and they took an action. Hopefully, the management will be aware on proper housekeeping.

The hotel is located in a good place , Mr. Waqar at reception was very helpful and nice to talk to.
There is room of improvement in services and facilities in room and out of room. clubs and everything else is expensive other then the daily room rent. Guest friendly hotel.

A Brief Stay / I'll Come Back and Try it Again

I stayed one night in August 2017. I'm a frequent visitor to Manama, Bahrain. I usually stay in a hotel in the Adliya neighborhood. I was bored with that hotel and booked here following the recommendation of a friend. I liked it overall. The lobby is sparkling clean, lots of marble, glass, and well-polished brass.. The elevators are roomy, clean, and well-maintained. My room was a surprise. It was really big (nice!), the bed was big and comfortable, too; though the windows hadn't been cleaned in a long time, and the hotel itself is gettin' kinda long-in-the-tooth so to speak and so the carpet in my room was probably clean but otherwise stained, cigarette-burned, and just generally worn-out. Good points though - the reception staff was professional, helpful, friendly, competent, and courteous. I liked that. There is a restaurant (I didn't try it), a (sadly, super-smoky) sports bar (I walked in and walked out), and a nightclub on the premises. I didn't care much for the neighborhood (al Hoora). I'm much more familiar with Adliya (so, maybe, I'm biased).There was easy parking in an adjacent vacant lot - and parking can be a problem elsewhere in the city.

Good hotel for business travel.

Overall stay was good. Beds were having spring mattress which was little uncomfortable as you can feel the springs once you sleep over it.
Once can find lot of options for food nearby along with various shops.
Location of the hotel is quite near to Bahrain Financial Harbour.

Good staff.
Good room and housekeeping however no complete toiletries e.g.toothbrush or toothpaste. No bathrobes.
Breakfast is the same daily with no variations.

Good prices and clean rooms but....

The hotel is affordable and rooms are decent with all basic amenities. The biggest issue is the loud music from the clubs on lower flowers including 1,2 and 7. I was on 11th floor and could hear and feel the bass till 2:00PM when the clubs closed. So, difficult to sleep before 2AM.

The pool and Gym are lousy and basically not there.

The staff could be improved in customer service. For example when I checked in the receptionist insisted that I check the room which mad me wonder. Also, she warned me that I cannot have any guests while the hotel clubs where full of potential guests ;-) A bit of a contradiction.

The breakfast was below standard and was noisy with rowdy party goers ...

I would recommend this hotel if you are on a low budget, do not need fitness facilities and don't mind the loud music.

Receptionist are approachable, however, night shift guard was rude in asking questions to us. Housekeeping are prompt to deliver our request and they come and make up the bed daily. Breakfast needs to be international and more choices (there was no pancake or waffles or bacon) Hotel towels needs to be changed, and dusty carpet. Overall experience, GOOD hotel stay.

Good but need some refinements

9 nights, room was good with good bathroom and bed. Wifi was also good. Food was not bad. Gym timing is very restricted at 10 AM to 8 PM with one day closed. Strangely, had to pay cash at restaurants, room service etc. Could not be signed to the room. Thought the system was ridiculous.

By far this stay was truly shocking. The staff were unable to follow basic instructions, breakfast was pre-booked but failed to arrive. The delay in the pool opening due to waiting for the staff to finish their breakfast (at 10.00hrs)dirty towels from days ago. I would take this off the list of approved hotels.

Its a very good hotel and our stay was wonderful. The only problem is the wifi. Every room got its own wifi but the speed is very slow. I hope they will imporve it.

Had a Nice Stay

This was not my first stay at the Monroe, and it was another good one. Check-in was fast and easy, and they did it the way I wanted: I asked them to let me pay cash because my credit cards are being handled by a family member, and they came through. Then they upgraded my room and allowed a late check-out without charge. They gave me a free airport shuttle and let me change the time at the last minute.

I'll definitely be back here.

TERRIBLE HOTEL & DISAPPOINTING NOT RECOMMEND !!!!!

I send my requests to hotel during reservations disappointing on arrival 3.00 am receptions claims he never read it then we have to waited with baby and kids almost one hour to set baby and kids bed ,not as yet treble we found that the room is not set for family it is not meant to be suite with living it is just large room we where totally inconvenience with kids we thought with the amount of SQFT they mentioned it is real 4 star hotel ,stuff do nothing to correct issue except apology ,parking is worse not convenience and old furniture lay every where like a jungle , do not buzzer even to use the parking to do not hit your care with un designed no even signs it is very dangerous ,shower curtain falling of and when you take shower you must hang it ,carpet dirty ,neeeeed update this definitely not even 2 star hotel be aware do not waste your money this is not for family type ,breakfast is very average

It's a Ramee hotel.

This hotel is up to what a traveler can expect from the Ramee Group. Except for what I've written below, it was an excellent stay.

The room was great, and of adequate size, but the bathroom was a little small. As I am not too tall and pretty slim, this didn't bother me, but if you want a big bathroom, you should request a room with one.

Check-out was a little lengthy, but the front desk was clearly very busy at that time.

I had wanted to pay for my stay upon check-in, and had made arrangements to do this, but when I arrived, the front desk insisted I had to pay for at least one night with my credit card.

For the price I paid, I got value for my money. I'll be back to stay at this hotel again.

My guest wasn't allowed into the room to stay for one hour or so, unless I paid 10 BD extra charge. If you claim that guests aren't allowed as per your policy, why do you ask for 10BD to let him in? Plus the parking garage is so narrow and it looked like a hunted house or a storage, with so much old furniture around to make going through even harder. The hotel it self looked old and smelled. The area is very bad with many guys offering \"women massage ssevices\" I wasn't pleased with my stay, in fact I checked out after a few hours to a better hotel. Highly not recommended.

Great hotel!!

Everything was great!! No complaints!! I am an African American female traveling the world by myself and I felt safe and welcome at this hotel. My plane landed at 2 am and I requested the hotel to provide transportation. Again, I feel safe and I appreciate this service because I am traveling solo in an unknown country. The airport shuttle ride on cost 2.5 dinars. The room service, nightlife, and hotel workers were all wonderful! I would highly recommended this hotel. It's not the ritz Carlton or Hilton but it's okay in my book

The staff were very helpful and professional. Breakfast was enjoyable. The free airport shuttle service was arranged promptly. However this hotel is not the place to stay for young single, women or families. I saw hookers in the hotel almost every day. On my last day I saw one walking brazenly into the hotel past the 'staff only' door as though her dad owned the place, while reception staff looked on. This made me wonder whether the hotel gets some sort of commission from these arrangements. Dirty, dodgy looking men regularly occupy the place. Almost every man that I had the misfortune of being in the elevator with would look me up and down as though they thought I was a hooker, loudly mentioning their room number.
Also I wasn't too pleased about the fact that the bar next to the breakfast room was open with music blaring out during breakfast hours. The swimming pool is in an open terrace for all to see so definitely not suitable for those wanting some privacy in the pool. Another downside to this hotel is none of the windows in the rooms open so say goodbye to fresh air and hello to the constant smell of smoke. Overall I wouldn't stay here again.

Despite the presence of a 24/7 drinking establishment on the second floor, this hotel was quiet, and a good place to get some rest. It makes the grade for me. My room was decent and of adequate size. The service was alright. The only problems I encountered were that room service menu items were about 35% more than the ones I saw (but the mini-bar had no surprises), and that it was a little difficult turning out the room lights.

I didn't have a pleasant stay at the Monroe hotel. The hotel was average but what I found disturbing was the behaviour and attitude of the security staff. Some staff members were aggressive and rude, which I have to say I have never experienced before in all my travels.

I travel to Bahrain regularly on business. I chose this hotel specifically because it was one of the least expensive 4-star places with a swimming pool. The pool had only two lounge chairs total, and the pool deck was strewn with litter. The \"health club\" was always locked. When I asked about it, they said they would send security to unlock the doors, but that never happened. I ended up having to carry my own towel down from the room because I couldn't get one out of the health club. I was disappointed with the overall upkeep of the property. It IS NOT a 4-star quality establishment. It's sometimes the small things that make the biggest impression (good or bad). The custodians would sweep the floors in the lobby and hallways, and then just leave the piles of debris in the corner for DAYS. I stayed 4 days, and the piles were never picked up. The room had mildew on the walls and ceiling. The maid would straighten up, but did not vacuum. The staff were not rude, nor were they particularly friendly. Will not stay here again.

A pleasant surprise...

I found this hotel to offer exceptional bang for the buck - the room (12th-floor Junior Suite with great views) was VERY large and very clean, the service was prompt and friendly, and the location was fantastic, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The neighborhood was just fine - I walked around by myself for a few hours at night and did not experience any issues. The proximity to the Corniche is also great, but make sure you take the pedestrian bridge (a 10-minute walk away).
For the PURISTS only: (1) There were a few small spots on the carpet and in the bathtub, unfortunately caused by irresponsible previous guests. (2) Even on the 12th floor, - if you tried - then you could still VERY slightly hear the music from the downstairs venues. (3) Likewise, if you tried, you could hear the elevator movements. (4) The hotel does seem to have mostly male guests, but I did not observe any prostitution activities as described by others - most certainly I did not have any escorts knocking at my door.
Overall, a very pleasant surprise, and I will definitely return.
