We had a really lovely stay here. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. The little kitchenette had everything we needed, which was a nice touch.

This is a boutique-style hotel, so there’s no elevator — not a problem for us, but something to know if stairs are an issue. We ordered the continental breakfast and it was simple but tasty.

A quick note of confusion: I originally thought I’d booked the other Posada on the town square (the one with the pool). Turns out the names and photos are super similar, so double-check before booking. That said, it ended up being just fine without a pool.

There’s also a bakery in the lobby that sells amazing pastries — if you can actually get them! The locals call in orders ahead of time, so the best items sell out before they even open. We tried several times with no luck, but it’s clearly popular for a reason.

The front desk lady was very kind and professional, though you’ll need to ask for what you need — she’s not one to volunteer extra info. And if you park in their lot, make sure to get the padlock key or you’ll be stuck.

Overall, we had a great stay and would absolutely stay here again. Just a few quirks to be aware of — but that’s part of the charm.

This was the second time I stayed at Posada del Cortes, a different room with slightly different set up but equally lovely. The beds and linens are comfortable and crisp and the small balconies are a lovely addition to the rooms. There is also an upstairs patio with a shade structure and a lower courtyard with fountain and flowers. Everyone is helpful and very friendly. Wonderful!

Bakery located right across the street sold their baked goods in the lobby of the hotel. Baked goods were excellent.

The hotel is small but quaint. The king suite was spacious but we also stayed in Room 1 for a night which was horribly small. The baked goods to purchase were fabulous, the location is perfect for walking to town, 1 block. However, Two reasons I will not stay here again- the bed was uncomfortable and there was no hot water much less luke warm dribbling water to take a shower.

This is such a lovely place to stay in Loreto. Beautifully decorated with authentic Mexican touches and thoughtful design. You feel like you are in an old pension, but with all modern conveniences. Comfortable beds and pillows, quiet room, secured locked parking and a nice continental breakfast served to your room. Also the added bonus of a bakery in the lobby. Great proximity to walk to the malecon, mission and restaurants. We can’t wait to return.

Love the roof-top deck (but be careful on the spiral stairs!)! Great view to Sea of Cortez! Loved the morning breakfast deliv - VERY generous 'continental' w/ yogurt, fruit, toast, coffee and granola :)
Only 2 very minor issues - first, no paper towels nor kitchen towels for when eating or cleaning dishes - had to use bathroom washcloths. Secondly, the blowdryer for hair is permanently affixed to corner where there is a cute bench seat and mirror - but there is NO LIGHT! So doing make up or hair in that corner is done in relative shadow/dark - a lamp or overhead light would be much appreciated. Otherwise, spacious, clean, well A/C working and great firm beds! Water pressure good too - esp considering 2nd floor unit. Looks as tho they might be expanding or moving....? The prop across the street is much larger, looks unoccupied but under construction and had same name on it's stone wall......? Really pretty grounds, they've made the upper deck patio really inviting and cute!

The staff were lovely but the room was tiny and bed and pillows had plastic covers on them, which was not comfortable at all, not to mention hearing it anytime someone moved. Very nice posada-style hotel with small kitchenette and walk-out balcony. We were able to open our doors and enjoy a nice cross breeze through the room making it very comfortable. Within easy walking distance of everything we needed - restaurants, the main square, ocean front, groceries, etc. Light breakfast was delivered to our room each morning. Staff was very friendly. Only downside was that we could hear footsteps and moving furniture on the rooftop patio directly above us. Certainly not a deal-breaker.

Quaint tranquil a forever memory

The hotel is very special and they have paid attention to details. Our room was a little small but I was told the rooms upstairs are larger. The bed was very comfortable and continental breakfast was brought to the room at a time qe requested. First class hotel. The hotel manager arranged a boating trip the next day I would recommend to anyone who wants to have an adventure. Manuel our captain qas great. Beach time was a surprise but made the trip. The property is wonderfully situated near the town center. The grounds were attractive and well cared for.
There were a few very small things I will suggest. Add a trash can in the room. There was only a small, closed one in the bathroom. Like many hotels, the outside lighting is very bright, not “dark sky” friendly. The first night I slept with an eye mask. After that, the manager showed where to turn off the lights outside my room for the night.
One last thing. The shower had a very slow drain. I was up to my ankles in standing water.

Judging by the wear and tear of the place it is pretty new property. Or they kept it up very good. Good location. The decor was on the side of cute boutique rather than a hotel. Got two roof top patios. The pretty court yards are quite small but functional however if is easy hearing distance from the rooms. So hopefully if your sleeping no one is outside talking.

The hotel is beautiful and so are the rooms and the outdoor private and common areas. Walking distance to town center. Two minute walk to the beach. There was someone there when we checked in around 5pm, but never saw him again the next day or by checkout by noon. It wasn't an issue because we had no pressing issues, but there was a house keeper in around in the morning (if you could find her!). Overall, a great place and I would go back.

The room were well appointed. The room was also very small. The shower didn’t have hot water and the toilet seat would not stay up. The towel after my quick shower was like sand paper. It must have been line dried. I could hear the guy peeing in the room next to me. They had to search for my reservation, not the first time a hotel had to search and realize this happens. I wouldn’t stay here again. The price vs room size and cold shower is not worth it.

A gem of a boutique hotel

It is a beautiful boutique hotel with a very friendly staff. Great location - a block from the malecon and to the old town center. Fun shopping and amazing eating options in the surrounding blocks. And the bed was very comfortable with cotton bedding. The bathroom was big with a great shower. Small (working! with ice!!) refrigerator, and counter with glasses, cups, coffee maker, coffee, tea, water. Friendliest hotel staff I've met :-) Air conditioner and ceiling fan keep the room temperature perfectly comfortable. The downstairs small patio with the fountain and all the greenery is like sitting in a garden. Their is a rooftop patio with comfortable chairs and sun shade that gets a lovely breeze from the sea. I loved it!

Loreto is the jewel of BCS so it’s name “Pueblo Magico”is perfect. Geologically beautiful, water, Islands, perfect in every way. Although it caters to tourists, “real people”live here and you see families with children living their lives. NOT Cabo- yeah!

We loved the roof top l patio that looked out over the town. Especially when the carillon from the Loreto mission church was playing at sunset. The entire feel of the property was old time, Spanish colonial elegance. Our room had a balcony that looked out over the street, and we enjoyed our morning coffee watching people heading off to work. The hotel is only a short walk from the malacon and the historic downtown area.
We read a couple of reviews that mentioned a noise problem from the bar next door, but that was not an issue we experienced. Possibly because ours was a mid-week stay.I
If we ever get a chance to visit the beautiful town of Loreto again we would absolutely come back to stay at the Posada del Cortes.
