I reserve the best lowest,room,but the hotel ,is using the best room newest room pictures,on the cheapest room rate,i was thinking i was going to see the same nice room i see in pictures when i arrived at hotel,but not the room was poor,old,bot A/C,not elevatoraldo to 5 floor!! ,,elevator goes just to 4floor and then,you need to go up on foot by stairs with luggages,not nice

From the start of our stay everything was smooth, easy, clean and friendly.
We arrived nearly 2 hours early and were able to check in to room ready for us.
We stayed for 4 nights had our room freshened up each day. The fridge was well stocked for an optional fee per item at reasonable prices!)
We stayed in one of the refurbished rooms and were very happy with the whole room and facilities!
The guys on reception were super helpful and friendly and gave us a great recommendation on our first night for dinner near by (Hespresso) with 10% off the bill!
The hotel is in a great location and easy to walk to parts of Rome, we reached the areas of the Colosseo & Trevi Fountain within 15-20 minutes.
We look forward to returning to Rome one day and will happily return here!

We were in a level 5 room, which was not pictured in the advertisements - the lift only goes to level 4 so we had to then walk up stairs, the level 5 rooms are also not renovated/updated and I think due to that the cleanliness wasn’t the best - but it was a 3 star hotel. I felt our room was 2 star. The staff were friendly and helpful though and we liked the location!

Location is a 10 - 15 min walk from Termini train station and about 5 from the Repubilca Metro station.
Buffet breakfast available for 10e with a selection of breakfast items.
Street can be noisy at night.

I understand the property is renovating. I was put in a very dated room with peeling wallpaper. Guess I didn't get put on one of the renovated floors. I did see one of the renovated floors while on the elevator and it looked beautiful. The staff were all extremely warm and efficient.

Check-in was a little slow and had to wait until the room was ready. Upon getting into the room, noticed that it was very old. When booking, the pictures are of the part of the hotel that is renovated so the rooms appeared to be modern and clean online. I booked a single room with a twin bed and the room that I got was old. The carpet was wet from the dripping water from the ceiling and air conditioning. This continued and was reported to management. I was told that it would dry but it never did and continued to drip water. The ceiling was cracked and paint peeling as well as the wallpaper. Management eventually did give me an upgrade to a room that looked like the pictures online. A room with three beds, spacious, clean and the AC worked fine without water dripping from the ceiling. This was appreciated and made up for the room that I initially received. The room swapping was disruptive to my stay however but management did what they could to remedy the situation so credit to them for that. I think they should indicate online that the single rooms are older as it felt misleading.

Modern streamlined rooms with great floor plan, ckean and air conditioning with air conditioning that worked. We were in Rome when my twins turned 20. I asked the front desk...I believe it was Constantine for a special occassion resturant..not touristy. He recommended Hespresso a short walk from the hotel. You can imagine how difficult it is to get the attention of young adults in that age group..not just one but both said the menu options and their selections were the best on our 3 week trip. The restaurant staff was very attentive and personable. My apology if I got the name of tge individal at the hotel wrong...I left my reciepts with details on the plane. Please know it was the perfect dinner for our last night in Rome and the special occassion I was looking for. Linda

The location of the hotel is perfect. We stayed here for the first 5 days of our trip and the last day of our trip (two different rooms). For all 6 days, my group never had to worry about finding bathrooms, or water, or dragging ourselves home in an exhausted slump. The hotel is pretty much 15 minutes (with or without the metro) from most things we wanted to do or go. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The only thing negative I would say is that the beds are hard and the triple rooms are not in fact 3 single beds but a queen and a single bed.

Rome as a city is very busy when we were there in early May the metro and road traffic was very very busy

A Gem Among Roman Gems

Without question one of the best, if not the best, European hotels we have reserved through Hotels.com. Everything was 5-stars. The reception counter staff was as friendly and helpful as possible offering priceless local tips and always equipped with a ready answer or action to satisfy a query or request. The breakfast fare was excellent, and the hotel's proximity to the easy-to-use Metro station was perfect. Hotel Patria is within walking distance of nearly every major site in Rome. Everything about it was superior. I would stay there anytime I visited Rome and can't recommend it highly enough.

Good little Hotel, which I probably will return to, clean, staff helpful and breakfast good., especially the Scrambled Eggs!
Slight issue with the initial booking as we asked for twin rooms but got doubles but this was resolved. This is well located for tourists being close to some major sites.

Is this hotel the greatest hotel of all time, no. Honestly though, I didn’t go to Rome for the hotel. Could it have been a little more updated, sure. Could the air have worked better, sure. Could the bed of been more comfortable, sure. All in all the staff was always SO nice and helpful and that goes a long way. We enjoyed our stay regardless of the little things, besides it was cool enough most days/nights to keep the window open. The only down side to that is hearing all the traffic and such more.

My stay in this Hotel was a total pleasure!! First of all the staff was super kind, helpful and friendly and really cared about my comfort. I want to thank Dennis at front desk for his attention, kindness and customer support!!
The location is amazing: a block away from the subway station and close to great dining options, city center and shopping.
The room and bathroom were super clean, updated, and a confortable bed to rest after a long day walking beautiful Roma! I highly recommend them!!

Stayed here a total of 4 nights, the staff were extremely helpful in giving information with transportation, dining, and all other needs.

The room had good air conditioning during the heatwave, beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. For the price everything was perfect, next time I’m in Rome I will definitely be back!

My room was extremely small, one of the smallest I ever slept in. The carpet in the room was old, stained, and dirty. The worst was the bathroom. In smelled of sewage so strong that I needed to breathe through the mouth to be able to use it. The challenge however was brushing my teeth. I had to brush them in the room, just rinse them over the horrible smelly sink, trying not to gag. I asked to be assigned another room, but the receptionist told me that the hotel was full. I spent 5 nights in those disgusting conditions.
The Patria Hotel ruined my visit in Rome.
Also the area Hotel Patria is located is noisy and looks unsafe at night. I could hear screams in the street every night.
How could this hotel be rated “good”?

The staff were nice and attentive. My only issue is the size of the shower stall which is 2ft by 2ft in area. It was very difficult to shower with that small space. The room and bathroom were clean daily during the duration of my stay.

The location is close to everything. The staff have great customer service skills. They acknowledged our presence immediately. Our room is really clean and organized as well. We had issue with our room with the air conditioning not cooling off. We let them know about this and they immediately sent someone to fix it. They even followed up & upon knowing it didyget fixed, they offered to move us to a different room to which we declined because we only had one night left and were too tired to pack up again only to check out the following day. All in all, this is a good hotel except for the AC part.

They gave me a horrible room, the wardrobe fall in my sons head and broke a glass. The phone to reception was not working, the lift didn't go to the fifth floor, and when I told them what happend, they didn't do anything else than giving me ice. I went back to the room, and it was full of glass, but my son needed to lay down, so we stayed there for a while. After that, I asked to change rooms, and they gave us a nicer room. I don't understand why they gave us a room in such a bad condition in the first place; it's not what I paid for.
But because the person on reception was nice, I have decided that accidents happen and to relax.
Ar the check out the person at reception told me city tax could not be used by cash and that I was told that when I booked, which is a lie. I paid by card in all other Rome hotels, and no one complained. I checked the booking, and it does not say anything about paying in cash. We are in the 21st century; it is not acceptable. I didn't have time to run to the ATM; it would be meant losing my flight home. They didn't offer any solutions. I wasn't expecting that treatment after what happened the day before.You book a place expecting to have a nice time and they ruin your holidays.

Keep in mind this is an old property, in general the service was good, they offered the convenience of breakfast with my stay, pasteries toast cold cuts and coffee, some fruit.... the amenities were functional and clean, only downside was the in-room safe was broken not working and last two days our room door lock was not working but the hotel switched us to another room. * place could use some minor renovations.

The hotel is in an excellent location walking distance to many sites incuding Trevi fountain, metr Republic and Roma Termini train station. There are a number of good restaurants near by, shopping and markets to buy fruits. Breakfast is included and was good, typical continental. The rooms are comfortable but outdated and there is no other amenities. Wifi and A/C worked well

The staff at the front desk were very helpful and kind. The room was medium sized but the bathroom was very tiny and quite dangerous. To use the shower you had to reach across the toilet to the opposite wall to turn on the water. Then getting out of the shower there was a space of 6 inches between the bidet and toilet to put your foot having climbed over the top of the bath. Not happy at all with this.

This is a most impressive smaller hotel. The location is central, the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, the rooms are a good size by European standards, and the breakfast was satisfactory. I had no unpleasant experiences here and I would highly recommend this hotel.

It is an old building but kept in poor condition. Painting of the walls in bedrooms is depressing and very dirty walls paint. The matress was good but overall not a nice place to get back after a full day walking around Rome! Breakfast buffet was minimal and no variation for a 3* hotel (don't understand the rating!)
I would not book it again and I do not recommend it.

Older hotel. Tiny shower. Be aware that A/C is not available beginning sometime beginning in Mid-October, when Rome can still be quite warm. Breakfast is quite good...with pastries, toast, fruit tarts, yogurt, cereal, meats and cheese, juice, etc. Pleasant staff who are fluent in multiple languages. Located right around the corner from Metro stop. Hotel is accessible to all the highlights of Rome.

Nice and accommodating staff. Has a dated look but didn't bother us as rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, comes with a free safe, 20 seconds from the metro, lots of places to eat nearby, central location, 4 mins away from Colosseum on metro, 10 mins away from Vatican on metro. Breakfast isn't going to blow you away but it did the job. Highly recommended for a city break

A well located hotel with exceptionally helpful st

Hotel Patria is located fairly centrally in Rome; most sights are within walking distance and the bus and train links are nearby. We had a large room with a very comfy bed. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was substantial with lots of choice. All staff were great but nothing was too much trouble for the guys on Reception - Dennis and Angelo. We were greeted with politeness and cheerfulness whatever the day or night.

The hotel is a little tired and worn. The breakfast room is not big enought for the number of guests, or we all showed up at the same time each morning, as I had to wait for a table several times. I also wish they offered a cappuccino with breakfast and not just American drip coffee. However, the hotel is good value for your money.

The room and staff were great but the street tended to be loud.
