Great for stopping with your doggie family either en route to the sun or on the way home. No limit on dogs and very reasonable nightly rate. Eat in the bar with your dogs. Good menu and well used by the locals

Stay started bad as my reservation was filed incorrectly causing a delay. Room was good and clean. We unfortunately picked a day when the hotel was having a Nativity show which meant we could not get a drink or food to after 9pm.due to the amount of people going to the show.
If we were informed of this event we could have made alternative plans for dining.
Also the staff could have helped more in expediting out drink order.

Super place to stop encounter

Our stay was great. Parking was good and onsite. Dinner was super and quite reasonably priced. Breakfast was nice albeit limited choice for 12 euros.
We were originally given a room that hadn’t been prepared but it was immediately switched for a super clean room.

Perfect place and position to stop on route to or from Madrid and ferries.

We’ve stayed here a number of times. Real value for money! Clean rooms, superking bed and good bedding, helpful staff and close to the motorway but no road noise. The cafe bar allows dogs too. Great overnight stop when travelling long distances.

I was travelling solo with my dog which can be a recipe for disaster staying at hotels but I was pleasantly surprised here. The staff were amazing, the hotel is fantastic, my room was clean, comfortable and perfect for staying with my dog and what set this apart (for me) was I was able to eat a proper meal in the bar and my dog could come in with me.

I will definitely be staying here again, 5 star!

Stay here a. Few times, but dud not enjoy this as much. The room was good spacious and clean. Unfortunately the A/c unit was malfunctioning, could not get any cool air even at 16°. Uncomfortable night as temp was in the night 30° during the day.

Restaurant. Menu quite limited, the gush flush my wife ordered was not available. Other fish dishes had strange sauce or no sauce. Non that suited our palates. I had tender lain steak and ask for medium rare. Came in a thick mushroom sauce but was rare. No one came to ask if it was alright. Staff not attentive

Breakfast. Basic Buffet. No hot food no one about to assist. Could have been good but I would only say it was average. Only staff member I saw was the barmen to ask me my room number to invoice. Difficulty with the tea and coffee machine

Will stay again but hope my vomments are taken as constructive to improve just that little bit.

This hotel has gone downhill. Because of walking difficulties we were promised a ground floor room but got the same room as 2 weeks ago. No customer care as the hotel was no way near half full and they had plenty of rooms to select from. This is my very last visit to the hotel which I have used since 2015 when it was an hotel. Stay there at your own risk.

We last stayed at this hotel in October 2023 and the receptionist suggested a groundfloor room close to the main area because of my disability.Perfect. In December 30/12/2023 I wrote asking for the same room when we arrive 04/04/24. On arrival we were told immediately that there is no afternoon lunch and that there is no bar service. The kitchen and bar would be open that evening. Next we were given room 162, first floor which was 30yds from the lift with the room approx. 80 yds from the lift. I asked about our request for our previous room to be told she knew nothing of our request, the room was let and it was no longer considered a budget room. I then asked because of my disability and shortness of breath could she move us to either a groundfloor room or one nearer the lift. i was told that the hotel was full, yet the car park was quite empty. We are due to stay there on the 18/04/24, we have requested a groungfloor room and we shall see what happens. We have been using this hotel since 2016 and have seen the standards slowly slipping but this last stay reached a very standard.

Great for a one night stopover on the way to Bilbao for the ferry. Easy to find just off the motorway and yet no noise could be heard in the room. Easy check in, lovely room, dog friendly and a good price. Adjoining bar great for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Our room was in need of refurbishment, as it was really tatty. The only lights in the room were 2 dim wall lights, a standard lamp didnt work. And the wifi was very weak . It took more than 40 minutes for our breakfast order to arrive.

Perfect for a ferry stopover

One night stopover on the way to the Santander ferry. The hotel is easy to access, plenty of parking. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. Bar prices were good, didn’t use the restaurant so can’t comment there. All in all, a bit of a find and will definitely be staying there again.

Montemoso is a great hotel on the way to ferry just of the motorway. Lovely big room spotlessly clean. Really helpful friendly staff. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but we ate in the bar as we could take our dog in there. Food was really good and not expensive. Definitely a find we’ve been a few times on the way to the ferry.

Very convenient to A1 from Madrid, exit at the north Aranda de Duero exit and it is just south of the roundabout. Staff helpful, hotel built in 1970 and the restaurant seemed to be popular. Quiet comfortable room. Recommended. North of town.

The overall stay was great, the reception staff went above and beyond to be helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. We were able to take our dogs into the when we were eating, which was a big bonus for us. The only couple of small points that stopped it from getting 10/10 was the outside area at the entrance was untidy, and my partners choice of evening meal was not as described, but we put that down to translation, as all the meals descriptions were translated from Spanish into English and French as well. But over all a good stay

Location off the Motorway is Superb.

But, there appears to be a Lot More Animal's there, (Animal Friendly Hotel), and they were allowed into the Bar and food area of the Bar, is this right, your choice.

loved the main restaurent where there were very helpful staff and we had a very high quality of food ie beautifully prepared large prawns, succulent lamp chops and Turbot, very pleasant white and red wine at good prices
bedroom brilliant size but bathroom very dated and the mixer valve on the shower was faulty
Breakfast was 10 euro and well worth it , again the member of staff was excellant

Large room. Clean and comfortable. Easy chairs in the room and sofas and chairs in oublic areas. Comfortable in quiet areas. Large dining room but we didnt est as had eaten while travelling.
Pet friendly for our 2 dogs. My husband list his wedding ring in the room. I phoned after we'd left and spoke to Lucia. The ring had been found and its been put in safe keeping for our return. I'd like to thank the staff member who found it and handed it in. We will definitely stay here again when traveling.

Loved it! Was recommended by a friend as the best place to stop en route to the Santander (or Bilbao) ferry to England - so we arrived quite late and they were very hospitable and friendly, kept the restaurant open for us and just generally made our stay a pleasure - amd so handy for the motorway.

Brilliant location for overnight stop for afternoon arrival at Santander. Directly off motorway BUT DONT GO BY HOTELS.COM DIRECTIONS. If you do you'll end up at a different hotel further down motorway.
Would we go back, yes, on the way back to Santander.
Dont expect English style food as you are in Spain.

THE HOTEL ITSELF WAS EXCELLENT BAR RESTAURANT ROOM ALL VERY GOOD. MY ONLY CONCERN WAS THAT THE DIRECTIONS TO THE HOTEL WERE TOTALLY INADEQUATE AND IT TOOK A LONG TIME TO FIND. THE SAT NAV COULDNT FIND IT AND IT TOOK INTO BACK STREETS . IN THE END SAW POLICE AND ASKED THEM WHERE THE HOTEL WAS. IT WAS OVER A MILE FROM WHERE THE SAT NAV WANTED TO TAKE US. A SHAME BECAUSE THE HOTEL ITSELF WAS REALLY GOOD

It was a pleasure to stop there. Staff helpful and friendly. All covid cleanliness adhered to. As a brit missed a kettle in room for my cup of tea.Restaurant excellent value. Try pigs cheeks.? Mmm .Risotto for a starter wine included 16 euro. Could only manage a delicious croissant and coffee at bfast. Rooms good size. Bathroom large needed rail to get in bath . Very clean . Affordable Elegance.

As other reviewers have said, this is a very convenient stopover between Santander/Bilboa and southern Spain. It is just off the A1 (but quiet) and completely dog friendly, with adequate walking. The room was large and comfortably furnished. The restaurant served a good, reasonably priced evening meal (although, as is common in Spain, it does not open until 8:30pm) and a good continental breakfast.

Always a warm welcome, the hotel is warm, clean and busy. At the time of our stay some work was being carried out in some rooms but did not interfere with us. We had to alter our stay dates due to a ferry crossing being cancelled at the last minute which the hotel changed with no problem at all. The restaurant serves a very good Spanish menu, which is reasonably priced and was well presented. Location is key, right besides the main Madrid to Burgos route whilst hearing no traffic noise. Stayed here many times in the past and will do the same in the future. Try it out.

We stay here regularly on our way to and from S Spain. It is very convenient and the Restaurant is good. I do wish they would attend to the little things though such as missing plugs in the sinks, soap trays in the showers etc. Why does Management not check their room facilities in these medium rated hotels?
