The staff kept us waiting for almost 30 mins to show the room even after reaching check-in time around 3:30 PM. Staff was giving the priority to Foreign tourists and giving us lame excuses that we are finding the keys and it took 30 mins.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights with my husband and daughter. Overall, the experience was pleasant, with spacious rooms and well-maintained bathrooms. The restaurant staff were courteous, polite, and helpful throughout our stay. The dinner arrangement by the pool with a bonfire was also enjoyable.

However, there are a few points I would like to highlight for improvement:
1.The breakfast spread was quite limited for a four-star property. There were very few fresh juice options, and buttermilk was not available. Additionally, the cut fruits—particularly guava and papaya—did not appear fresh.
2.The breakfast timing was only until 9:30 AM, which is relatively early. Most hotels offer breakfast until at least 10:00 or 10:30 AM.
3.The checkout time of 10:00 AM is quite early, especially for guests who come to relax. A checkout time of at least 11:00 AM, or preferably 12:00 PM, would be more appropriate, particularly during the winter season.
4.I noticed that some guests were vacating around 11:30 AM; however, despite my request, we were not granted even a one-hour extension. This was disappointing, especially as my flight was delayed by two hours.

I hope this feedback is taken constructively to enhance the overall guest experience in the future.

It was simply an A+ experience. From the time we checked in to the time we checked-out of the hotel. The hotel staff was courteous and prompt. Cleanliness of the property is outstanding. We were there for Christmas eve and so there were a lot of enjoyable activities planned for the guests. Even the royal family (who lives in the private parts of the property) joined in the festivities.

We rented the heritage rooms where we got the feel of living as royals in a haveli. I would highly recommend those rooms. The rooms were amazing, well furnished and full of required amenities.

Lastly, all key attractions are walkable from this place.

Nice, spacious and clean room, very good breakfast and dinner, view to the fort, close to all touristic places (at walking distance to most of them). All this in a beautiful, large palace, where the maharaja still resides. Had no chance to use pool and spa, unfortunately. Nice royal museum in the premises. Sympathetic staff. Convenient ATMs at one of the palace exits.

The hotel is amazing, housed in a centuries old palace and an easy walk to the main fort. Our luxury suite facing part of the museum was just beautiful. The service was excellent, the room clean, the restaurant has an extraordinary view at night.

Our only concern was the lovely pool was infested by pigeons and covered in scum. After a very hot day exploring Jaisalmer that was disappointing.

But it will be a lovely memory.

Stunning part palace part hotel

Absolutely stunning part palace part hotel. Stayed on the Golden Suite which had comfy double bed and separate small sitting room. Close to the fort. Lovely rooftop restaurant and separate breakfast room. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

Beautiful palace, very poor service

The palace itself is stunning. However, service is poor. Breakfast ends at 9:30. We had to rush for the breakfast. Breakfast was really bad. Burnt, dried and stale.
No tissue paper, no hair dryer, no iron. I have never seen a toilet paper role that thin. Hot water takes forever to mix.
Most of the time, internet doesn’t work.

A clean and cosy hotel. Bed linen and towels could have been a little newer, but the service in the restaurants was excellent. WiFi was extremely lousy. Hotel should invest in a few range extenders.

Golden City Mandir Palace Hotel

A beautiful hotel with a special charm. The architectural design of the buildings is amazing. Such intricate designs.
The hotel is like a maze, so very interesting to walk around. There are few different temples in the complex but need to get its opening times. There is a museum in the complex as well.
Walking distance to the fort. Take a walk up for sunrise.

17th Century Mandir Palace

It was an amazing experience at this property. The staff were friendly and helful. The place was like a maze, very interesting. It was amazing how well kept the place is. Jaisalmer, the Golden City.
The hotel is close to the fort so you can walk or talk a rickshaw.

Oh what a shame - reality way below what it should

What a disappointment, This is a historic building part place museum, part home and part hotel. It should be great. We stayed 3 nights and ended up having three different rooms. the first was large ground floor with a foot path outside the window, so no privacy, and next to a noisy stairwell. Then moved to a very small low-ceilinged room where the air conditioner was as quite as a Boeing 737 on take-off - finally moved to a very pleasant quiet room that we should have had from inception. We booked a pool view balcony room but it appears that they don't exist at all - misdescription on Hotels.com website.
Wifi proved impossible to log into and I discovered that their security certificate had expire in 2019 so no Apple device would log in. Manager seemed totally unaware. of this.
The grilled chicken sandwich which my wife and I had for lunch (only food that day) gave us both alimentary problems.
Hotel manager just seemed imperious and not caring at all
Lives off being what it is, an important historic former palace in a convenient location, but management lets it down badly. Simply don't appear interested in overseas individual travellers - Our only disappointment in 5 weeks of travel

Lovely hotel

We were a large group of 12 with an age range from 2 till 65 and without exception, all of us were happy with the facilities, cleanliness, helpfulness and the food. The historic significance of the hotel was also impressive and the staff were all very hospitable.

Beautiful Building but some touches lacking

Although the hotel is beautiful & staff friendly and willing to help, I didn't find it had the special touches you would usually find in a 5 star hotel. The first room I was given had a very noisy fan, the hotel moved me to another but the TV didn't work the 3rd room on the ground floor was however lovely. Lunch should have run until 3PM but the dining hall was empty off staff when I arrived at 2:50PM. Many of the regular TV channels were not subscribed to & one of the pool ladders was broken. Only instant coffee available Saying all of that, I did have one of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time, so thank you for a comfortable bed!

The hotel is very nice. Great location. Its is in an old palace and is beside a museum. Nice pool to relax by. Rooftop restaurant that looks out on the historic fort. Staff were so welcoming and helpful. Great value for money. Rooms very big. I strongly Recommend it.

Living in the lap of luxury

Everything about this hotel was top quality
From the manager to the housecleaning staff. The rooftop restaurant was lovely, spacious and had great views. The wait staff very attentive and fun. The food was excellent. There was nothing negative I can say. I hated to say goodbye and highly recommend it for your next stay. You will not be disappointed!

Excellent Heritage Hotel

We loved staying at this Heritage property with a museum inside it. The property seemed to be well maintained and clean. The staff are very attentive without being pushy, the manager even gave us a tour of the museum. The food at their restaurants was very tasty and authentic and the best of the 3 local restaurants we tried. The breakfast spread was quite elaborate. Even the sambar passed my south indian husband's scrutiny. We didn't use the pool but it appeared to be very clean and secluded.

A Palace for the Senses

After traveling hard for six weeks we decided to treat ourselves to a real palace in India. Not only was it a beautiful building that was very well-kept up, but it offered all the amenities of a modern hotel. I so enjoyed the beautiful carved sandstone and the marble flooring.

Fun stay but some issues

Good hotel, our bed was quite uncomfortable, the arches in the golden suite are very cool but watch your head, the water in the bathroom got cold very fast, the breakfast wasn't anything special, but very cool to stay in such a beautiful hotel that's a heritage building, the fort and other locations for site seeing are fairly close in this small town

The hotel itself is very beautiful, and the rooms are big and well decorated. The staff is very friendly, and seem happy to help with any problems you might have. The hotel is located very close to anything worth seeing in Jaisalmer, and it's easy to get to and from the hotel without paying much for a rickshaw. The food in the restaurant however is not recommended. It's very overpriced for the quality of the food, and the portions are quite small aswell.

taste of royal life and royal service!!!

I had booked this hotel after reading the good reviews. I am a member of Welcome rewards and was eligible for one free night stay. I decided to use my free night stay here and booked after paying the taxes on the room charges. My travel was more than 2 months away. I got a shock the previous night when I called to reconfirm and was told my booking was canceled. I was sure it was thanks to the free night. I tried calling the 24 hour helpline of hotels.com with no luck. I called the hotel again and I was told to come the next day. Mr. Bhojraj on the front desk told me he will call the Delhi office next morning and solve the issue. True to his word he had called and kept our room ready. The Check in was super fast and the view from our room of the tazia tower was worth dying for. The room was spacious and had a small balcony overlooking another part of the palace. The restaurant served great food of our choice too. The royalty too lived in a portion of the same palace. There was free WiFi which had amazing speed. The palace museum had lot of artefacts and entry for guests was free. They even arranged a desert safari at extra cost which was good. We had a very happy stay here. Location is amidst the attractions but quiet at the same time. We will stay here next trip too

Stunning haveli with immaculate rooms

Staying at the Mandir Palace is like stepping back in time. The architecture and the grounds are incredible. The pool was a refreshing reprieve from the chaos of the town. The hotel is situated as close to the action as possible but is insulated from the noise and the room is totally quiet. The staff is cordial and helpful.

This former royal palace has lots of atmosphere. My room was absolutely clean and spotless. It was comfortable and quiet. All the staff were extremely helpful. Twice a junior staff member accompanied me through the maze of streets to the ATM. I would never have found it on my own. Breakfast in the downstairs restaurant was excellent. Dinner in the rooftop restaurant was also excellent. I ate Indian dishes. They were all delicious and freshly cooked and caused me no upset stomach. The waiter very kindly took the time to explain all the names of the dishes to me. At the front desk, they arranged a taxi for me from Jaisalmer th Udaipur - a 9 hour trip - for 8,000 rupees. I had 2 other quotes from small local shops - one for 7,000 and another for 10,000, and I accepted the 8,000 quote from the Mandir Palace because I felt more confident of getting a trouble-free taxi trip. And I was right, the trip went totally fine. The hotel is very close to the entrance to the Jaisalmer fort. In summary, I give this hotel top marks.

Worst Hotel in Jaisalmur

This hotel was described as top end, and the price would agree with this. It most definitely is not!
On arrival the outside was a mess, however, it does have a certain charm about it, and if looked after could be wondrous!
The man at the reception desk was asleep, it was four in the afternoon. He seemed very upset at having been woken up. He then tried to deny having had any bookings. We showed him our confirmation from expedia and he reluctantly took us to a room.
The room was an absolute disgrace, the roof was coming down in several areas, the bedding had not been changed or even made and the bathroom was in an even worse state!!
We asked for a different room which he got very upset about, he eventually took us to a different room which was in a similar state so we left and stayed at the Hotel Rang Mahal which is a much better hotel in every aspect, its even cheaper:)
I could not believe it, if this hotel was taken care of it could be one of the best in Jaisalmur, in my opinion, as it is I would count it as one of the worst!

Les chambres de cet hôtel sont aménagées dans le Palais du Maharaja. Autant dire que le cadre est exceptionnel et féérique !
Les chambres sont agréables, assez grandes, avec une bonne literie. Le coin \"piscine\" est bien appréciable après une journée à crapahuter à Jaïsalmer. Les deux petits bémols concernent le wifi, dont le débit est trop lent, et le restaurant, superbement installé en roof top mais un peu cher par rapport aux établissements avoisinants.

Ein Traum von einem Hotel!

Ein sensationell schöner, antiker Maharaja-Palast, mit Sandsteinschnitzereien an den Wänden (auch im Zimmer), eigenem Balkon mit wundervollem Ausblick auf altes Gemäuer - einfach ein Traum von einem Zimmer bzw. von einer Suite (ich weiss nicht, ob die \"normalen\" Zimmer auch so grossartig sind, aber unsere Suite war unschlagbar!).
Extrem freundliches und aufmerksames Personal!!! Mit Abstand das beste Hotel auf unserer Indienreise.

Charme et confort

Si vous avez envie de loger dans un palais, cet hôtel est parfait : bien situé propre, belle piscine (pas de douche cependant !)Magnifique et authentique palais, cet hôtel conjugue confort moderne et charme d'autrefois. Bon petit déjeuner.
Nous avions la suite dans le musée : attention à la tête !
Un très bon restau \"trio \" donne sur le palace, je vous le recommande pour la vue et pour la qualité des repas !

Durchschnittliche Zimmer, mangelhafter Service

Das Gebäude, ein alter Palast, ist wirklich sehenswert und erstklassig renoviert. Super Lage am Rand der Altstadt, 10 Minuten vom Fort entfernt. Allerdings gibt es doch einige Kritikpunkte: Die Zimmer sind eher durchschnittliche indische Hotelzimmer, sauber, aber ohne besonderes Flair. Die Klimaanlage ist extrem laut. Das Restaurant auf dem Rooftop hat eine tolle Aussicht auf das Fort, ist aber ansonsten etwas lieblos aufgezogen, nur ein paar Tische und unbequeme Stühle. Das Essen, sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen ist nicht gut und steht hinter all den anderen Restaurants, die wir in Indien besuchten, weit zurück. Der Service insgesamt ist eher mangelhaft, sicher nicht aus böser Absicht, es fehlt eher am grundsätzlichen Verständnis was ein westlicher Reisender in dieser Preisklasse erwartet. War OK für zwei Nächte, aber es gibt sicher bessere Hotels bzw. gleichen Komfort und besseres Essen für weniger Geld in Jaisalmer.

Bel soggiorno nel centro di Jaisalmer

Bel posto dove fermarsi a riprendere fiato. Hotel praticamente in centro e ai piedi del forte. La camera discreta e pulita. Personale gentile e colazione abbondante. Piscina per rinfrescarsi e spazi comuni dove utilizzare wifi free.
Niente male davvero.
