Beyond Expectations

This property was beyond our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and attentive and accommodating. The room, the lounge, and the restaurant were unbelievably comfortable and well decorated. The pool area is gorgeous and the tea plantations surrounding the property made for the most amazing backdrop.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the place is in a middle of a tea plantation and it’s really beautiful location, few things to mention, on the hotel.com booking it’s says room with balcony, but found out the that deluxe room did not have balcony (wrong information) but management did move us into a room with a balcony, we didn’t had any extra power outlets so had to take off one of the lights to charge our phones and the hot shower had some issue that change the temperature every now and then, but we would love stay back.

Beautiful location and friendly staff. Loved the small hotel/bungalow atmosphere. The kids loved playing the piano and the pool. Dinner was superb. Quick hike to see the beautiful views, watch out for the leaches, rains might have brought them out. Still a fun experience.

Lovely hotel a little out of town

Wonderful hotel with great staff, very friendly and beautiful views and rest areas.
Only downside is that its 20 mins away from nuwara eliya main town so make sure you are looking for a relaxing break and not to explore other establishments.

Luxury in the lap of nature

Outstanding location right in the lap of nature. The staff was very helpful.. food and presentation was amazing. A very nice small luxury boutique hotel . The views from the hotel is just excellent, surrounded by mountains and tea plantations, away from the hustle of the city. Worth the stay !

Great food, homely and frieoomndly staff.

The overall stay was fantastic and the place felt like home. Chef Tharanga made literally every curry we asked for and the staff were very flexible with any request we had.

The only improvements we think necessary are: refurbish the seating area at the bar as it is outdated and uncomfortable; update the pool table as it is very small, shaky and old; update the alcohol selection as there was only one option of red or white wine available by the glass; add more international channels such as movies, music and news considering there isn't much to do in the outdoors; and should have at least one type of black tea in the room as not everyone drink green tea.Considering it is an expensive boutique hotel we are of the opinion that it is important to have a sense of luxury.

British style nestled into tea plantations

The hotel sits atop a small plateau overlooking the valley which gives it a magnificent view of the surroundings. Lush tea plantations all around and pretty panorama towards the hills on the opposing side of the valley. The whole facility has incredible gardening and boasts some of the most finely maintained lawns I have ever seen. The lawn tennis court speaks for itself. Staff is skilled, friendly and alert. Food quality was quite good and the cook even managed to cook in the dark, when there was a power outage (they do have a generator, but that does not kick in immediately).

Beautiful and charming hotel with nice staff

Stayed here for one night with my boyfriend and another couple while traveling throughout Sri Lanka.
Very nice hotel on a tea plantation. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful at check-in. We took advantage of some of the amenities, including the pool, mini golf, and bar/pool table area. We did not use the spa, though they did offer many different services at reasonable prices.
There is a restaurant on the premises, as the location is pretty isolated and there is nothing nearby. The prices seemed high for the quality of the food, and service was somewhat slow. We also paid for breakfast the next morning, which was ok but not worth the amount we paid (then again, given the location, there are not any other options).
The room was very clean and nice, and the decor throughout the hotel really gives the feel of being in a colonial tea plantation. There are comfortable sitting areas as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay though I do wish the food options and prices were better.

Great staff in a beautiful setting

The staff at langdale is world class as if the setting. Lovely and quaint with enough privacy. Great value for money too! Highly recommend a visit and a must for Nuwar Eliya.

Terrible customer service, not recommended at all.

Terrible customer service, the so called luxury hotel lacks basic services and the staff is completely withdrawn and unresponsive. Don't even bother trying to call them or email them before getting there, you'll get nowhere.
The view is the only thing good about the place, and you can just get that by driving by the area and stopping to enjoy the view. (Food was also good, in all fairness)

disappointing because too far from airport (5 hours) prelim with Srilanka is that the issue travel is below 30 KPH in general. People very nice and kind. this hotel has many facilities and spa is welcome with different option. Food excellent and top chief very open minded. good wine selection too.

more faulty towers than luxury hotel

This is a newly built hotel, which lacks many luxury items. For example it has shower curtains in the bathroom that touch you when you take a shower- yuk!!

On arrival we ordered a gin and tonic, after waiting for 20 minutes I asked if there was a problem and was advised they had no tonic!!

The afternoon tea on the first day was abysmal, stale cheese sandwiches and awful choclate cake, the next however it was much better.

Only one waiter to serve the whole establishment, as you can imagine he is run off his feet, but they have 2 staff sitting on front desk doing nothing.

Do not pay any more than $US 250 per night for the room or you will be very disappointed.

Chill out in comfort

Overnight stay during a visit to the hill country in Sri Lanka.
The hotel is smart and comfortable but very quiet, not a bad thing.
Maybe my expectation of just looking forward to having a good drink and a meal being only a one night stay was not met because the limited number of staff meant that my needs were not always imediately met.
Food was superb and breakfast on the patio was a highlight due to fine weather and a spectacular view.
The issue I do have is that our driver and tour guide had no accommodation provided as there are no drivers quarters or provision for food and drink. He had to leave to find somewhere to stay which is not a good arrangement.

Tucked away from the Nuwara Eliya city Langdale by Amaya is a good place to stay in but not a great place. There are some elements of the stay that does not let the experience be Great and leaves it at good. Service is Good. Food is Good. Over all good place.

Expensive hotel for what they offer

Hotel location and staff all excellent.
Road is terrible , it took us 45 min to reach hotel, it's enough to put you off going anywhere else to explore.
Swimming pool not been working for a while, no mention of that in advert, no apologies from hotel.
Despite this they still charge you to use any other facility ( golf, pool table), no acceptable in my opinion.
All the available excursions mentioned in the website do not exist.
Be careful it's a rip off!

Stayed one evening while visiting Nuwara Eliya (just a bit far from town centre,thirty-five minutes -- since the road was in poor condition). Very clean, quite, well-tended room and facilities. Excellent restaurant. Exceptional staff!

Friendly staff. Great chef. Beautiful grounds and surroundings. Once at the Inn it was fantastic. And, it would have been useful to know that the road to the Inn is under construction and is a long, slow, uncomfortable to get to the Inn, from the Inn to the nearby sites, and out.

A paradise in the world famous tea mountains

We were booked for 3 nights at Langdale by Amaya but arrived a day late. The roads leading to Langdale from Nuwara Eliya are treacherous and our driver advised on a daytime drive up the mountains to arrive there safely. This was the best decision.
The bad roads aside, the views of the local tea growing estates are quite unique and worth the trip. The hotel is set on a prime spot between two valleys overseeing the surrounding tea plantations. At this height, you are surrounded by clouds that form over the ridges and you will spot a few waterfalls in the distance.
Once you arrive, you are instantly reminded of the old traditional English townhouse surrounded by very well manicured gardens. The staff were very welcoming and as we had missed out on a day they upgraded our room from superior to deluxe at no extra cost. The room was spacious and all the amenities were of a very high standard. The food and services offered were exceptional. With a billiard room and bar, this made for very relaxing evenings after dinner.
Our only negative observation was that a big family moved into the room opposite us and we could almost hear every movement or conversation they had. The kids were allowed to roam freely and play outside in the corridor, and unfortunately, this disturbed the tranquil feel of this hotel.
That aside, we would gladly recommend Langdale by Amaya for anyone travelling through Nuwara Eliya.

Lovely place, so close to being brilliant!

Fantastic scenery after a very difficult journey just a few km's from Nuwara Eliya. The hotel is attractive from the outside, has large rooms, and is well looked after on the whole. Despite needing a little more attention to a couple of the rooms, the staff were absolotely fantastic throughout, moving us on our request, and all round nice people. I would recommend this hotel to others

Más que un hotel parece un hogar

Todo muy bien, muy cuidado. El trato excelente. Vistas de los campos de té increíbles. Son 13 habitaciones, por lo que el trato es muy personal. Todo muy limpio. MUY RECOMENDABLE.
La piscina es un poco pequeña, pero tiene minigolf y pista de tennis.

It was a great stay - the hotel is small and very nice with a beautifull view to the plantations and mountains. There is a completely new road which makes it easy to reach the hotel. Much better than staying at a hotel in Nuwara Elliya.

Varning för detta hotell

Hotellet ligger naturskönt mitt i en teplantage. Hotellet ligger dock inte, som påstås, i Nuwara Eliya utan en bra bit längre bort än järnvägsstationen Nanu Oya. Avståndet till centrala Nuwara Eliya är över 1 mil via mycket slingriga vägar.

Hotellet kan, för den som gillar splendid isolation, eventuellt uppskattas. Men för oss andra kan det verkligen inte rekommenderas! Matpriserna är pga avsaknaden av konkurrens oförskämt överprisade. Att utge sig för att vara fyrstjärnigt är en grov överdrift. Varmvattnet fungerade inte, badkaret var sönder, det erbjöds inga tvättmöjligheter och det fanns inte möjlighet till att låna dator. Wi-fi fanns visserligen i allmänna utrymmen men fungerade synnerligen dåligt. Att personalen i receptionen dessutom var snorkig gjorde att hela vistelsen kändes misslyckad.

精致紧凑温馨的酒店

酒店门前的确在修路，从市区10公里过来的路要开半小时。估计还要修个把月。酒店不大，一共能接待10几个住客，但是该有的都有了。餐饮不是其他大酒店的自助，反倒可以支持随点随做，甚至早餐。使得更有一种家的感觉。泳池的确没有加热，比较冷。我很喜欢花园草坪。可以在黄昏时爬上后面的茶山看日落。风景如画。几个小问题，酒店没有外币兑换，不能安排什么DAY TOUR，晚餐价格比起当地水平贵了一些。是值得推荐的酒店。

Traumhaftes Hotel in traumhafter Lage

Das Hotel liegt Traumhaft auf einer Anhöhe mitten in den Teeplantage. Das Personal ist super freundlich und sehr kompetent, der Service im Restaurant ist 5 Sterne Niveau. Das Essen war sehr lecker und man hat eine kleine Auswahl an guten internationalen Weinen. Das Essen selbst ist allerdings nicht gerade preisgünstig ;)
Am Mittag gab es Teatime mit leckern Keksen und Törtchen, ideal!

Sehr schön sind die Zimmer, welche sehr geräumig sind. Und die Terasse mit dem Garten sind ein Traum... Zum runterkommen und wohlfühlen ist es ein wirklicher geheimtipp...

Wir können es wärmstens empfehlen!
