Very nice cafe and lounge area. Good food, good service. My only complaint would be the limited number of comfortable tables in the lounge. Ie., the lounge is very nice for just lounging and having a drink, but there aren’t enough regular tables for eating dinner. They should allow customers to use the cafe tables.

Quelle chance de pouvoir dormir dans ce mythique hôtel. L’hôtel avec ses tapis bleu nous donne l’impression d’être dans un autre temps. Quoi que très bien entretenu. Nous avions une chambre de grandeur régulière avec une grade salle de bain avec un bain à pattes qui était d’une grandeur incroyable et que j’ai adoré. Que dire du petit déjeuner… OMG, on passe ici de la possibilité d’un déjeuner à la carte typiquement Irlandais… oui oui, un gros déjeuner traditionnel irlandais en y ajoutant, à notre guise, fruits variés, scones, juifs, céréales, smoothies, yogourts, et j’en passe. L’ajout de distributeur d’eau filtrée sur une étage est aussi un plus. Mais que dire du personnel tellement gentil et accueillant, les Irlandais sont des gens tellement accueillants et généreux. Je recommande sans aucune hésitation. Merci à tout le personnel du Headfort Arms

Was booked for a wedding in this hotel and had to stay the night before due to travel, to say the staff went above and beyond for us is an understatement couldn't of been more helpful ! Hotel itself is homely and friendly , really enjoyed the fact the hotel had a separate bar attached so gave an even more relaxed feel to it. 10/10 would recommend !

A bit disjointed , restaurant was a cafe but you ordered from table . In the morning we were directed to cafe for breakfast, which was for nonresidents. When we eventually overheard somebody saying residents breakfast was in another part of hotel. The breakfast was very good and staff were great.

A good work trip, staying in Kells again. Lovely hotel with a great buzz. Can't believe how busy it is !
Had an unfortunate experience without any heating in my room, but the staff brought up a portable radiator for me. One of those things tbh.
Breakfast next door is great - make sure you book that for sure. Oh, and the Ceaser Salad with King Prawns is magnificent.

Great stay at Headfort Arms Hotel

Great location in centre of Kells with convenient secure parking to the rear of the hotel.
Genuinely friendly and helpful staff on the front desk.
Our rooms were spacious and comfortable in the newer rear block of the hotel.
Our only small gripe was that the hallways and the rooms were far too hot for our liking!
At least we could easily adjust the temperature in our room.
Although we did not have time to experience lunch or dinner it appears to be popular with locals as the restaurant and bar were busy when we passed through.
If we were in the area again we would definitely stay there again.

The Headfort is an old established hotel in the centre of historic Kells. It’s very comfortable with really pleasant helpful staff. The food is excellent.
I shall return and use it as a base for trips to Meath.
Very much recommend it.

fantastic family run hotel with a very personal welcome and approach to their guests. Great buzz in the hotel bar with locals and visitors adding to the atmosphere. Delicious Guiness on tap. The hotel is well known for its food and once again it didn't disappoint. I always enjoy staying here when i am in the area on business

Headfort Arms is wonderful. We keep making the mistake of staying in Swords each trip into Dublin because of its proximity to Dublin Airport. Navan is an easy drive just a bit further for an incredible improvement in quality that’s far less expensive.

Lovely hotel in Kells. The rooms, furnishings, and features seem newer and well-maintained. Our room was not ready when we arrived even though it was after check-in time, but the staff set us up in the bar and treated us well. There was a wedding and a concert the weekend we were there, resulting in some areas being extremely overcrowded and noisy, and the parking being full. Restaurant options are very good, and we enjoyed some of the best food and drink of our Ireland trip.

The rooms are spotless and absolutely beautiful, the bathroom aswell has a massive bath tub and separate walk in shower . I got my friendly wake up call from the night porter and got a full Irish breakfast aswell , wasn't able due to the 🍻 but hopefully they didnt mind . The location is perfect aswell , just at the bottom of the town with a car park out the back . 10 outa 10

Very old hotel and our bedroom was very small and very outdated. This hotel really needs a good facelift everywhere. The elevator went only up one floor and then you had to haul your suitcases up narrow stairs to your bedroom. This facility could really be a winner with the foresight to overhaul the whole facility while keeping the old charm it exudes.

My daughter and I enjoyed this hotel a lot, although the room was initially very hot. AC is not usual in Europe, but the hallway was air conditioned, just not the room. We opened the windows and propped the door open. Facilities were great and the hotel is quite sumptuous, although we didn't have time for the spa. Good choice of restaurants and a nice area for a local walk (although we never found the signposted Kells Bridge on our walk!). Good place to stay if you want to drive into Dublin afterwards. Nice room, large bathroom, and very comfy beds!

We were stranded at a concert and the staff at the hotel went to extreme lengths to help us . A fantastic night house keeper collected us off his own back . The best hotel in Kells area!

Headfirst Arms Hotel is very accommodating. We stayed 2 nights to visit the megalithic sites nearby, of which there are many! The breakfast was superb and the dining restaurant on site, The Vanilla Pod was amazing! Very comfortable room with great amenities. Staff is very friendly. Location is very good in the heart of Kells and private off street gated parking a real plus! I’ve stayed here each of the three times I’ve visited Ireland and have never been disappointed.

Kells is a very interesting and historic town. Attractive town centre with numerous independent shops. On the major bus route to/from Dublin airport and easy driving from Dublin and onto the West of Ireland

We booked this hotel as we were traveling to Meath for a wedding near by. The staff in the Headfort were very helpful with giving us information and directions. We found the room warm but they brought a fan to our room which was great. I read previous reviews about the hotel being a bit outdated and tired, I would agree with others that the hotel could do with a facelift but especially new beds. We found the beds very soft like there badly worn out. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would recommend it for a quick stay.

Really like this hotel, but there was an event the first evening of our stay and it was past 2:30am before we could get to sleep. Not as bad the second night, but still noisy. I’m thinking if they know they’re going to have partners, those are the folks who should get the rooms facing the street, not those of us who turn in earlier.

Please DO NOT stay at this hotel on a Sunday night if you are away on business!

There is a disco in the hotel which starts at around midnight and goes on until 2am. I rang the night porter and he said that there was nothing he could do.

It simply isn't good enough to expect business travelers to put up with this level of noise, totally unacceptable.

I have cancelled two nights booked at the end of April, in fairness the one member of staff did try and contact me and offer a free night, but this is no compensation for losing a nights sleep when you have work the next day!

A very enjoyable two night stay. The hotel is warm and cosy, the rooms are very comfortable and Kells is a very interesting town with easy links to/from Dublin.. Great Hotel - - BUT beware of cancellations!

We had only one major issue. When using hotels.com for booking, I had been told that if we check with a hotel and offer to cancel our room IF they can rent it, there would be no charge.We were attending a wedding and it appeared that our son would not need his room for the night of our stay. So I offered if they could rent the room, not to charge us. We returned at 3 a.m. and were told by the night porter/security that the room had been let. Great! The staff was VERY VERY accommodating to put a bed in our room since his room was rented. This was at 3 A.M.!! VERY nice. The next morning I was told that there was no refund. The reservation had been made \"by a third party agent and we cannot refund the money for your room.\" I pointed out that we had been told that they had rented our son's room by the hotel staff, and she said that they were probably wrong. IF we had known that our room was still available at 3 a.m., we would have taken the room back and used it. But we were told that the room was in someone else's name. NOT HAPPY!

Bustling hotel with a warm Irish welcome.

Obviously the place to stay in Kells. Everything seems to happen here from concerts, conferences, weddings and family gatherings through to formal dinners and cabaret nights. There's never a dull moment when you stay at the Headfort Arms. Most of this is pleasantly diverting unless you happen to be of a particularly nervous disposition. The hotel staff are relentlessly cheerful and very welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble.
