Nice stay

The staff are very friendly and helpful, as always expected of Indonesian customary. The room is clean and comfortable, although the hallway and inside of the room can do with a bit more freshen up/renovations.
Location is quite strategic close to the city centre.
Breakfast spread is amazing with lots of local food options. In house spa service is also great with good service.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent service, room and value for money

From the moment we checked-in, the services were outstanding. They made the experience very personal. We love the room, it was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel smells amazing too! Very lovely. Love the food at breakfast, the options are endless. The location is also very central. Easy to reach and go around. We would definitely return if we’re in Yogya and recommend the hotel to our friends and family.

Absolutely terrible room (4 rooms actually.) After arriving and entering the room I was stunned. I had to actally think about what was happening, take stock and make a quick decision to contact the front desk and tell them NO WAY! I then called my friend in the next room and he was in agreement, there would be no way we would be staying the 4 nights booked in these hotel rooms. The manage came up and asked what was wrong and I opened up the curtains and began to point out issue after issue. The head board was stained, the carpet stained, wallpaper peeling, worn furniture, exposed wire in the bathroom above the shower, dusty furniture, bad paint, old bathroom,,, etc,etc,etc. I have traveled quite a bit in SE Asia and Europe and the United States and the only other experience I can liken these rooms to were nasty motels along highways of the United States, worse! We were shown two other rooms but the same result. I was Not going to stay there, no way, Not for the money I paid, it was not a fair deal. This is where the customer service came into play. The manager, I wish I knew her name, she was the day manager on Monday October 16th, the day I checked in worked so hard to help us out and it finally came down to me telling them, \"you need to get me into another hotel period.\" I was not the friendliest at that moment and at every point where I would have told me to go take a walk, she handled herself with dignity and compassion and never lost her cool. She got us another booking.

Was a great experience in general. Staff were all so professional, attentive and always friendly. Everybody cared about us as guests. Breakfast was wonderful and many food choices. Room was cleaned every day and was comfortable. Definitely recommend this hotel for long or short stay and will stay here again.

This was a nice property with excellent staff. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and it was nice & quiet. The location worked for me because it was not far from the university but there is not much of interest in the surrounding blocks (fabric stores & not much to eat). The food was ok, not great and as expected with much hotel food, overpriced. The spa service were great although the pool was small. I’d stay again, as it was a good value for the money.

Very pleasant and clean hotel. Staff is polite and helpful, check in and check out process is very fast. Breakfast is good with variety of food. However, have to improve on water pressure in the shower and the wall between room is thin, can hear conversation from the adjacent room.

Overall, good hotel to stay in yogjakarta. Will be staying here for next trip to yogjakarta.

The only item that needs improvement is the breakfast most items cold and no western selection of food for western guests
I could not eat breakfast only fruit and bread
Which was not fresh the French bread was stale many days old
Please could you change this and add some western food for breakfast
Everything else was great and to a high standard including welcome drink and cake
I will be returning to your hotel
As I stay in Aston hotels every week.

The hotel is alright for the price, but location is terrible, away from all attractions and it is hard going back to coz cabbies don’t know it.
It is also very noisy because of traffic, the mosque nearby and the a/c.

Lovely stay - great decor and service, lots of attention to detail. Good value cheap 5 star - good facilities. Pool is a bit standard and gym is small but fully functional. In the middle of a busy ish area although not so much for tourists within walking distance. Close to the famous Galleria mall - 2 mins walking. Huge breakfast spread including lots of local varieties as well as continental. Many rooms may not have much of a view. Seems to be catering for an upmarket local (Indonesian) clientele - most staff still spoke some English. Recommended.

Air didalam bathroom warnanya sedikit Kuning, jadi kurang nyaman untuk digunakan. Saya sudah laporkan ke petugas reception.

Bathroom cleanliness kurang bersih..

Ada noises sekitar hotel rooms seperti ada maintenance dan sangat Keras suaranya.

they missed pickup at the airport almost 1hrs which I have to waited . The ast manager ibu Ninik said there was system glitch but other staff said their reservation side was forgot to plugged in the request which made me confused , as compensation for the mistakes they waived mytransport bills and give free breakfast for the 1st day for both our rooms which I really appreciated.

Thanks to bu ninik and mas dedek for the service and they are very friendly.

Fantastic hotel and great location

Grand Aston provided a fantastic location for our visit to Jogja. The facilities and service are impeccable. It is in a central location with most amenities nearby. Malioboro street is only 5-10 minutes by taxi / Uber / Grab. In fact we preferred to be a little ways away from the hustle and bustle of Malioboro. The breakfast spread is very impressive and top notch ... although Santika excels in the traditional breakfast department.

Stayed here for a week. The room was clean, comfortably big enough and service staff were great. Enjoyed my time here. I was slightly disappointed that the rooftop bar was closed for renovation, but I guess it couldn't be helped. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a comfortable and clean room to stay in, book this!

Check in of the hotel is quick and easy. Waiting lounge is spacious with comfortable couches. The Saffron Restaurant is also spacious. Services by staff are good. One good thing, the hotel is very accommodative to our request by packing our breakfast meals when we leave the hotel on the 2nd day morning at 3.00 am to Borobudur. Thumbs up.
