This is a perfectly located spot for exploring the centre of Copenhagen. The staff have a warm welcome and the facilities in the shared kitchen area are really useful. Breakfast is amazing (local pastries are to die for). The only challenge we found was our room was warm and opening the excellent double glazed windows unfortunately let in a lot of road noise from the adjacent railway bridge. This is unlikely to be a problem for many and reception has a supply of earplugs for those that needed them. I expect the toastiness of the warm would be great now it's getting cooler but we're we there in a warmer month. There are also fans in the room that help for cooling. All in all a pleasant stay and fun stay, just if you like sleeping in a fridge like us you might want to talk in advance to the hotel for the best room for you prior to travelling. They really are so helpful.

The view was amazing. It was also located in a perfect spot. we could walk everywhere. Some may not like to see boats traveling by but we loved it. We also had a family of Swans visit us and we fed them. I miss it already! Staff was also very friendly and accommodating. They have bikes right onsite for you to rent if you like and breakfast was good.

A very unique experience with super helpful staff. I wouldn’t recommend in summer months as the rooms get very hot, there is no fan and if you open the windows you get mosquitoes and a lot of noise from the overhead bridge which is right next to the hotel. It’s worth noting that this is not a full service hotel so we could not leave our bags after 3pm.

If you're looking for a unique experience you should make this part of your itinerary. The hotel is built on a barge, ask the owner where it was built and how it got to its present location.

Amazing 2-deck boat/barge hotel with a view across Copenhagen Harbour. Big windows facing the water from the rooms. Walking about super-easy with a pedestrian/bike bridge to the downtown just a few m from the hotel. Easy to get to - a 10 min walk from the Christianshavn metro station which connects to the airport. Easy check in with a host on site. Good continental breakfast and coffee available 24/7 really. I would book again but use earplugs at night. A bit noisy at night with a motor bridge just to the W. Not cheap but as an experience I'm glad we stayed.

If you’re trying to decide whether or not to book, do it! This hotel exceeded our expectations and we are sad we couldn’t stay longer. The breakfast was great, with lots of different breads and pastries. Fresh coffee by the cup, orange juice and tea! Loved the cheese and fresh slices of meat. Truly great. The design of the rooms was really cool, and they are quiate large and light-filled. You need to climb a narrow spiral staircase to get to top floor, which is difficult with a suitcase, and perhaps impossible for older folks. I don't recall this being noted in the hotel description, and it should be. Given the cost of food and drink in Copenhagen, the free coffee, tea, and breakfast was a plus. Great area to stay, easy walking distance to Tivoli, Central station, and museums.

Canal Boat with 12 rooms and a rooftop deck right next to the bridge. Tivoli gardens within sight from room just cross the bridge and walk down about 1/2 mile. Also cross bridge to right and walk to Nyhavn Owner has bikes for rent for approximately $16 per day. Hop on and ride all over the City. We rode to Mermaid statue, Nyhavn, Changing of the guard at the palace,the Kings Garden and much more. Close to City Ferry which is $3 ride for 1 and 1/2 hours up and down main waterway or rent Go Boat. Also don't forget a dip in the canal. So much fun

A five day stay for a conference and very well positioned in the city centre. 10 min walk to the Metro. A bit noisy some nights as it is next to a bridge and the local emergency services love their sirens.

Highlight of my trip
I didn’t know if I was going to get the chance to stay here but was so thrilled that I did because it ended up being a highlight of my trip. There was so much privacy since there are a limited number of cabins and the area around the property is full of restaurants shops etc. to keep you busy all day. Instead of having to eat your dinner on a smoky patio you can sit up top with beautiful views of the city and have the upper deck all to yourself and enjoy.The host was also very friendly. There is a light continental breakfast the next day as well. I will say it was a little warm at night so perhaps a fan on site would be helpful. I had hoped to open the windows but there were some rather large spiders hanging outside and I didn’t want them to take that as an invitation if you know what I mean. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone while visiting Denmark

The location can’t be beat. It was a treat to be able to take our breakfast to the roof and just watch the river traffic go by. The stairs are a tight spiral, so not for persons with mobility issues.

The hotel is a boat in the habor of Copenhagen. Fantastic expirence to go to bed and wake up with a full wuiv from just a meter above the water tover the water to the city of Copenhagen.

Because it was a boat property it was unique. Rooms were small but clean and comfortable. It was very hot, and there was no air conditioning so the windows had to be left open. Lots of noise off the river as a result.

Great setting with canal right in front of the room. Problem is the noise. On a warm day boats go right by and one arrived in the middle of the night. Also road noise from nearby bridge. Loved the bike rental availability and being right next to the bike bridge to town center. Room is small but the bathroom is new w good shower. Breakfast was weak.

we came in past the office hours and you need to be able to make a phone call to get the lock box open. of course great idea, but it was good we have service internationally. The boat is so cute, but right under a major bridge so don't expect much sleep :-( so noisy!

CPH Living is in a great location. It's just a short walk into town, or the central station. There is a large share fridge in the office come breakfast room where one can keep their wine and food. Michael is a great host.

This unique hotel is in the middle of all the tourist activities in Copenhagen, which is to say it is an easy walk to Tivoli, canal tours, Nyhavn, and many other places. The owners are very friendly, and provide a typical European breakfast each morning that will fill you up and get you going for the day. It is a 10 minute walk from the Metro, and they even have a few bikes you can rent (which I highly recommend) in a super bike friendly city. And besides all of that, where in the world can you say that you stayed on a boat for your vacation!?

We expected somewhat rustic or outdated accommodations in return for the novelty of sleeping alongside the canal just minutes from the City Center. We found the opposite! Our room was completely private, clean, modern, and interesting. The breakfast was a generous display of local foods. We especially enjoyed the warm drinks that were available for our evening under the stars. They have though of everything - including comfortable lounge chairs and even blankets on the upper deck. The room, the breakfast, and the view were all first class. As mentioned in other reviews, you can hear the 'white noise' of the nearby bridge, but we did not find it at all disruptive. In fact, it was fascinating to watch the morning Danish bicycle rush-hour out of our window. 5 stars if you like adventure combined with convenience !!!

It is a unique setting right on the water and mimics real living in Copenhagen more than other hotels. Unfortunately, while we were there, the water was not operating twice in 2 days. The staff was very responsive to our request for help with the water & they were very apologetic.
Maybe others are more accepting of no air conditioning, but my husband & I found it too hot to sleep well. Personal preference. The pictures on the website are nicer than reality as well, but it is on the water & rustic. Neat to have people boating, kayaking, etc. right outside.
We chose to eat at the Marriott for breakfast, which was on our walk/run path. They did have delicious pastries at CPH, very fresh! Otherwise, a limited choice, but adequate. Nice to have tea, coffee & hot chocolate available when you want.
I chose this do to something different. Definitely not your regular hotel. Enjoy!
Maybe others are more accepting of no air conditioning, but my husband & I found it too hot to sleep well. Personal preference. The pictures on the website are nicer than reality as well, but it is on the water & rustic. Neat to have people boating, kayaking, etc. right outside.
We chose to eat at the Marriott for breakfast, which was on our walk/run path. They did have delicious pastries at CPH, very fresh! Otherwise, a limited choice, but adequate. Nice to have tea, coffee & hot chocolate available when you want.
I chose this do to something different. Definitely not your regular hotel. Enjoy!

A unique hotel with a fabulous view. The staff were helpful and friendly - particularly Lasse. I loved that it is a family owned business. The breakfast was basic but sufficient for us. The room was also everything you needed. The only negative was that it is a bit noisy due to road works and people out and about but if you are used to city noise it is not the end of the world.

Located right on the river, with a very cool vibe. This is a funky place that is actually a boat, and there is a great deck on top where you can eat the hotel-provided breakfast. The room has a river view and you can see boats going up and down. Staff members are friendly and there's tea/coffee available 24/7. The only slight downside is that it's a little bit of a walk from the nearest metro, and the hotel seems a little expensive.

Well, you can tell people you stayed on a boat in Copenhagen. That's the positive.
The employees are ambivalent to you. The rooms look like a pretty good college dorm room. This was the first hotel I've ever stayed at that doesn't have shampoo and for some sadistic reason, the bathroom has big glass doors - so be VERY comfortable with you share the room with.

A wonderful little houseboat with 10-12 rooms that are very clean looking out over the canal, comfy beds with a well laid out bathroom and rain shower head.
Coffee-latte-cappucino, etc., water and a fridge all readily available any time of day or night. Nice array of pastries, cheeses, breads, etc., for breakfast daily...just a good spot to be a for a few days while enjoying Copenhagen!

Staying on a boat is different, floor to ceiling windows onto the river make you feel very exposed plus the blinds are difficult to close. Windows from the bathroom into the room give no privacy plus windows in the bathroom have no blinds so you are woken early as the light floods in.
The mooring beside a bridge is central and makes exploring easy.
Breakfast although included is basic, the hot drinks vending machine and paper cups, plates etc could easily be upgraded.

Great location, comfortable room and bed. Traffic noise is pretty loud on the bridge above the hotel. Unfortunately the city also decided to construct a pedestrian bridge during our stay and construction on the water began at 3am every day. So it was not the most peaceful stay.

We very much enjoyed our first stay on a houseboat. Rooms are clean and pretty cool, with a free view from the showers to the river. Great location at water's edge and in easy walking distance from everything that makes Copenhagen. Though at the moment a bridge is being built right next to the hotel boat, we didn't really hear any noise from the building (and there are ear plugs at reception just in case). Nice breakfast with a small-ish selection; the addition of a couple of boiled eggs or so would have been welcome. On the other hand there's a coffee machine for use by hotel guests available 24/7. Overall to be recommended to people who're looking for something a little different.

It was great for what we needed. The bridge nearby is slightly loud, but honestly in a soothing way. Only stayed one night, hotel staff did a great job accommodating our short stay and was able to make a taxi reservation for us the next morning, which was very appreciated for the early hour.

My wife and I came here on our honeymoon, and CPH living was exactly what we wanted. It was an incredibly unique experience and I can't describe how awesome it is to be able to open your room for to such a view. We will definitely stay there again.

Beds/wood floors were very noisy (any movement was very loud). Weird window to bathroom viewable from bed (including toilet). Bathroom door is a clear glass slider with about a 1.5 inch gap around it when closed so offers little to no privacy.

CPH Living is a great little hotel/boat. The rooms are simple but have everything you need. It was fun being on the water and watching boats go by. The breakfast was ample and coffee and tea were available at all times.

The general impession was moderate. The hotel receptionist was kind and very friendly. The upper deck was a beautifull place to take your breakfast. The breakfast was mediocre. The location of the hotel was convenient; quiet neigbourhood, with good access to the public transportation. The hotel itself was a unique experience since it was actually a boat. I and my wife were staying in the first floor (main deck). The room was offering a spectacular view of the city and the sea-canal since one wall of the four was actually a huge window. When sleeping we had the feeling that we were soaring just over the sea surface. This glass wall was an advandage but at the same time it was a big disanvantage. During afternoon the sun was heating the room, increasing the internal temperature in skyrocketing levels. There were blinds but the usage of them was hiding the view, thus making one feel like being in an ordinary hotel room. If we were daring not to make use of the blinds, then we were losing our privacy! Many boats with tourists were passing by our window every five minutes and full of curiosity they were wathcing us inside the room. Some of them didn't miss the chance to salut us and of course we repayed their kindness.
Overall impression: moderate. Probably I would stay again because I like the diversity, but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend

What a great, unique place to stay. We loved watching the boats go by and waving to the boaters. The breakfast was very good, somewhat limited, but this was understandable given the facilities of this unique place. The sun roof was great for eating breakfast and for eating a take out meal. Take out was readily available nearby. It was a short ten minute walk across the bridge to the center. We highly recommend this hotel.

The notion of a boat hotel seemed like a fun novelty, but the reality wasn't quite what we'd hoped. The room was fine. The boat was fine. But the boat's location across the river from a massive disco made it impossible to sleep. And the 10:30 a.m. checkout time is criminally early. It is enforced, too. We had a knock on our door at 10:30 a.m. asking for our credit card for payment that carried the suggestion it was time to hit the road.
