This is an ok hotel. The beds are comfortable, the shower good, everywhere is clean. The rooms have balconies, which is a nice addition, and you can really feel 'at one' with the forest.It was so very hot!
I got the 3rd degree at check in becase I had travel visas from 5 years ago in my passport, which really ruined my experience.
The food was awful. The restaurant closed before its advertised time, even though I had paid for dinner and availability had been checked in advance. There was nothing left at the buffet - not even bread. There was no a la carte option. Breakfast was much better, but all 3 coffee machines broke, the juice machine pumped water with a squirt of coloured luquid, and fruit was - in part - mouldy. Bread, cheese and tomatoes were good as were some very nice warm pastries. There were hot options, but I didn't try these.
Overall, not terrible, but certainly not the best hotel I have stayed at.

Old and smelly hotel

Upon arrival, I discovered that parking is only available 250 meters from the hotel and I had to drag my luggage uphill. At the reception, I was told that as a Gold member, I am not entitled to late check-out and would have to pay 6000 HUF for it. The room was old and smelled bad. I do not recommend this hotel.

A quiet and comfortable hotel.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is excellent .
The furnishings are rather old fashioned and tired looking. The hotel is very clean. The position is very good for hiking and walking . It is 5 mins by car into town. Unfortunately there is no evening entertainment so after dinner there is nothing to do. Most people go to bed at 9pm !

Spa: good.saunas, crowded pool and jacuzzi. Jacuzzi temperature warm not hot.

On the good side: lovely location of the hotel farther from the city center but in the hill/forest with lively hikes starting from the hotel.

Super family friendly, great breakfast and dinner

Stayed here for 2 nights with our 18 month old son, it was perfect for young kids - a big playroom with plenty of toys, ramps and lifts for strollers, and plenty of parking. Our rate included breakfast and dinner, there was a wide variety of food for both and the large number of diners meant everything was fresh. It's a little far from the city centre but it's a pleasant 20 min walk if you have the time. The only thing is the decor is slightly dated, but everything is clean and the staff are helpful and friendly, so not really an issue. Overall, a good place to stay if you have kids and are driving.

I booked a single spa get-away in this quaint medieval Hungarian town an hour train from Vienna. It's an easy bus ride from the hotel to the old town \"Centrum\". The hotel is situated at the base of miles and miles of wonderful walking trails. Most written material is NOT in English. Many hotel staff speak reasonable English. Spa services were fine. Food was plentiful. Prices were very reasonable. The pool was small. The busy hotel is very, almost too, kid friendly. If you are a mature adult and wanting a quiet place to go, this would not be a good choice. I would return, just being careful not to book during school holidays.

Fine hotel for a quiet stay in the forest.

This hotel nestled in the forest above Sopron was built in the 1960s and added to in the 1980s and was used in Communist days to lure foreign tourists and their hard (valuable) money. It's a vision of 1960s and 1980s modernity, and well maintained. The hotel is a restful pleasure to stay at (would you believe real cuckoo birds cuckooing in the trees outside the room as a wake-up call?)..
The room was more than adequate, good sized and complete with balcony. The bathroom was somewhat small, and only squeeze-bottle cleaner is provided to use as soap and shampoo.
The pool and spa in the basement was fine, but closes as early as 8 p.m. (Still very light in late May.)
Breakfast was a reasonably good buffet in the spacious restaurant. But few guests seemed to stay for dinner.
This hotel is fine if you have your own transportation. Though a city bus line goes up to and ends only 150 meters from the hotel, it would be inconvenient. It's a bit hard to find even with a car, as it's well out of town up in the hills.
Staff was accommodating and professional without exception.

Comfortable hotel in a nice environment. The room was good, clean, but a little bit overheated (we were there in November), but later managed to reduce the heat. The breakfast is good and enough. The swimming pool is clean (the jacuzzi not so clean).

Zimmer war schön. Die Halbpension war gut, aber
wenig Speisen zur Auswahl.

Super Preis- Leistung! Das Hotel liegt am Stadtrand, und grenzt an einen Wald an! Der Bus hält jede viertel Stunde! Beim Abendessen ca. 10 verschiedene Hauptspeisen am Buffett! Das Hotel ist schon älter, aber es ist alles sauber geputzt! Für einen Stadturlaub eher nicht geeignet!

Das Hotel ist in Ordnung. Störend ist der schlimme Geruch, der in Fluren und im Zimmer permanent vorhanden ist. Wobei einige Hotelgäste ihn als Rauschgiftgeruch bezeichnet haben. Ob es von alten Teppichen und Gardienen kommt, die lange nicht mehr fachgerecht gereinigt sind lässt sich nicht sagen. Mein Schlaf war dadurch negativ beeinträchtigt. Nun versuchen wir, die Nächste, bereits erfolgte Reserwierung zu stornieren. Die Speisen im Restaurant sind gut.

Super netter Service. Mussten am Flughafen Wien auf den Koffer (ist in Zürich stehen geblieben) warten. Meldeten dem Hotel, dass wir erst um 22.30 Uhr im Hotel ankommen werden. Hatten Halbpension (Küche bis 21.00 Uhr). Es wurde uns ein Wurstteller auf's Zimmer gestellt. Super...
Zimmer war sauber. Frühstücksbuffet war lecker.

Egyik este az adagolós tudfürdő kifogyott, ami igen kellemetlen mikor valaki ezt fürdés közben veszi észre. A szobaszemélyzetnek erre különös figyelnet kellene fordítania.
Az éttermi személyzetet külön meg kell említeni kedvessége okán. Egyik este percekkel a svédasztalos vacsora zárási ideje (21 óra) előtt érkeztünk, ekkor negatív meglepetésként ért, hogy a svédasztalnak már hűlt helye sem volt az étteremben, így \"á la cart\" vacsorát szolgáltak fel számunkra a svédasztal menüjéből. A személyzet kiemelkedően készséges és türelmes volt, holott közel 22 óra volt, mire elhagytuk az éttermet.

Erhohlsamer Urlaub in Sopron

Wir haben das Hotel für einen 14 tägigen Urlaub gebucht. Da wir mit dem Auto angereist sind war die Abgelegenheit des Hotels für uns kein Problem. Das Essen war gut bürgerlich und der Service im Restaurant sehr gut. Bei dem Zimmerservice musste man allerdings Abstriche machen. Da wir gewohnt sind erst ende des Urlaubs das Trinkgeld zu geben mussten wir feststellen das der vorgesehene Wechsel von Bettwäsche sowie Hand- und Badetuch nach einer Woche nicht mehr erfolgte. Das war um so verwunderlicher da der erste Tausch nach 4 Tagen prompt erfolgte und somit nach unserer Meinung nur an dem nicht sofort gezahltem Trinkgeld lag. Das Hotel kann man gut weiterempfehlen für Gäste die Ruhe suchen und auch bereit sind sich zu bewegen da es doch etwas abseits liegt.

Nice familiar place, but an update is necessary

We have spent a a weekend in the hotel with our family in two adjoining \"superior\" rooms (not interconnected). With its 3 star qualification the hotel has a list of resort type services: indoor swimming pool, massage and health services, shop, children playground indoor/outdoor, cafe, restaurant, ect., although we have not used them personally. The hotel is outside of the city, we have travelled by car, but there is a public transport available.
The goodies: staff are very helpful and kind, especially they were to our 1 year old baby. The place has a welcoming familiar feeling and nice surrounding. The building and the rooms are kept immaculately clean.
The downsize: interior (public areas, rooms, bathroom) have \"oldish\" design, furniture are tired and worn out (you can hear the matrasses crying for exchange), toiletries are basic and cheap (liquid soap). Being on halfboard we were astonished that on one of the evening the buffet table was almost empty after 8 o'clock (dinner was between 7-9 pm).
