Very clean rooms, breakfast was the best so far with a great variety, there is a restaurant in the building. There was a slight mildew smell upon entering one hallway, but it had been raining a lot - it is Alaska... It's right next to the harbor and mountains all around so great scenery. Lobby had a fireplace which was nice to play cards next to. We did not check any other facility offers.

The breakfast each morning was fantastic, as was the coffee and orange juice. The staff was very helpful, particularly the young man who came to our room and showed us how to operate the television. He was so patient and gave it to us to us retired folks in an easy lesson. The view of the harbor is wonderful, and this hotel is close to EVERYTHING in town. Loved it!

The check in was at 4pm but all housekeeping must leave by 3pm. No hot water for the jet tub or the shower. The jet tub was so small that myself at 6'3\" did not fit in the tub. Finally the restaurant in the hotel screwed uo our steak and then they offered to cook proper ones, 28 minutes later i approach the kitchen to ask why it was taking so long to cook a blue steak abs a medium well. They never git the order from the waitress.

Hotel was older but the rooms were clean and well appointed. Dinner was not served at the restaurant due to staffing shortages but they served the full menu at the bar. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday so there is no dinner option there and limited options in town off season. Breakfast was not the best, food was cold and looked reheated from the day prior (bacon and sausage). Plumbing was very loud in the room we were in all throughout the night. Loud water running through pipes woke me up a couple times despite being a deep sleeper.

View from room was good and staff was friendly and attentive.

Staying here was awful. The room smelled of pee even with the window open, the tv didn’t work, the door wouldn’t shut properly unless you slammed it and the breakfast was disgusting and cold every single day even the freshly made pancakes or potatoes. Other places to stay were full so I had no other options at the time but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Will not stay again!

This hotel has a great location on the Valdez harbor and is adjacent to the main areas of town. The rooms were comfortable and functional. The nicest aspect of the hotel was the casual and friendly vibe. The staff were friendly, helpful and sociable. The hotel had a rustic ambiance. There was a decent common area and nice breakfast. It didn't have a guest laundry or exercise room, but the location made up for that. Overall, this was a good stay.

During our stay, there were some warm days and there was no air conditioning in the motel rooms, only a very small fam. It was rather uncomfortable trying to sleep because of the very warm rooms. Even the main lobby rooms and breakfast area were very uncomfortably warm because of the lack of air conditioning. Everything else about the motel and grounds were very nice, safe and clean. We enjoyed our stay.

The showers are cold and there is no air conditioning. Even though it was in the 60's all week, the rooms get hot with no way to cool them off. The line for the boat glacier tours line up next to the hotel so don't expect to sleep in. The complimentary breakfast was good.

Rooms were hot and there was no way to cool them down. We left windows open and an in room fan on but still was uncomfortable in room. Bathroom needs an upgrade as well, toilet was very low. Couldn't keep a constant temperature on the shower, one second hot then it would go cold then scalding hot and back to cold. 5 of us went to the restaurant for dinner and were told we should go into town. There was an 8 place table open but the hosted said, \"I'm not going to seat you there.\" We left our phone number for a call back and an hour later hadn't received one so we ate at another establishment in town.

This property appeared to be an artifact of the 1970s and seriously in need of renovation and maintenance. The bathroom was disgusting. The bathroom door was splintered, paint peeled off in very large portions, and it was greasy. I doubt if it had been cleaned in many months. The hallway outside our room looked like it had not been vacuumed in many days, maybe weeks. The screen in the window was torn so we could not open the widow for ventilation and the place has no air conditioning. This hotel is located immediately next to an industrial yard that is very noisy and dusty. There were 6 tour buses parked close to our room that were idling and pumping out diesel fumes for prolonged periods. We could not wait to get out of the place.

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Valdez. Easy walk to enjoy the waterfront, museums, hiking paths and restaurants. Due to its location near the commercial boats, the hallway has an acrid odor. It didn't seem to affect the room.

The staff makes this place a winner!

We stayed for 3 nights. The staff was very accommodating. Our main complaint was that it was very hot in the room and there was no air conditioning. The front desk person came down and there was a fan provided in the closet, which helped a lot. We also had trouble with the lock on the door not working. It was looked at, but we were told it just acts up sometimes, but it was frustrating to not be able to get in our room. Breakfast was so-so, but again, the staff were wonderful and always asked if there was anything else they could do for us.

Considering this is a Best Western, it was pretty disappointing. Granted, Alaska hotels are not usually fancy, but this place needs a refresh badly. Smelled musty, had thin walls, and just felt rundown. On the upside, the front desk guy was very friendly and helpful and the shower was OK.

The room was a little dated. It smelled musty but the house keeping staff did a great job cleaning. The window in the room was left slightly open probably to combat the smell. If you're looking for a high end hotel this is not the place but if you're looking for a clean room with a great breakfast this might be for you.

This was a convenient stay after the ferry. The room was clean, but mattress and pillows needed updating. The floors are pretty uneven and the room was a little crowded. It’s close to a few places to eat and right on the water. In the summer, it would be an easy walk to Safeway or really anywhere in town. We would stay here again.

The staff was really friendly. The breakfast was good enough quality, but very plentiful: eggs, pancakes, sausage patties & links, delicious bacon, cereal options and juice, coffee, tea, water, hot chocolate, milk… really it was a great start to the day.

The room shows its age a bit, but it’s very cozy. Great TV options for downtime. The beds are on the soft side, but not too bad for a couple nights. The bathroom vent is underpowered, but the windows open in the room to let in fresh air.

Snow is a constant in winter, but the parking area is cleared as well and as often as it can be. Snow piles up along the building and you need to heed the signs to park 6 ft away—or risk serious damage from snow falling off the roof.

The fitness room is open until 10 pm and adequately furnished with cable, free weights, a bench, treadmill and mirrors. Decent experience at a great rate.

We have stayed at this hotel and liked it so we chose it for this trip. Upon arrival, we requested a quiet room because we needed to sleep well as we had to drive in the morning. The front desk clerk assured us that all their rooms were quiet and assigned us a room.
The room was not quiet. There was machinery noise & vibration off & on all night.
