Our hotel is located on State Highway Routes 136 and 67 on the east side of Macomb. The hotel is minutes away from the University, downtown attractions, corporate locations, shopping and restaurants.

The room was clean, ready on time, and the staff was kind. My keycard stopped working, but that was resolved quickly. I wasn’t there long enough to check out the pool or fitness area. The room was quiet and comfortable.

The breakfast area is a bit weirdly laid-out (the trash can is rather far from where the goopy cups of waffle batter are, for instance) - I feel like re-organizing those counters with an attention to “flow” might be useful.

Breakfast was good. Staff that was there when I got there was non-existent. I waited and waited and I yelled hello.. a lady came around the corner and rudely said check in is not until 3. I just had a question to see if I could leave my luggage there until check in .

Other than that it was a nice hotel and staff AT check in was kind.

There is no communication between Expedia and this hotel. I have to stay multiple nights per week in a hotel in Macomb, IL and will never again try to book here. The staff was unpleasant over the phone and because a third party was used to initially book (how would I know not to do this (?) ) the hotel says my cancellation is not valid and charged me $290 with no explanation or refund.

Housekeeping Wake Up Knocks

We stay here a lot. Always clean, always friendly. My biggest pet peeve is that housekeeping knocks on doors at 9am the day of departure, regardless of the privacy sign on the door handle. Checkout isn’t until 11, but the knock always wakes us up and then we feel rushed even though we technically have 2 hours to get out.

The gym is small but functional and had everything I needed. If you need to stay in this town to take a child to university. This is a great hotel. After staying at a best western in Jacksonville Illinois this place was a dream come true. Called on 4-2 and asked if they had a pool they said yes but when we got there the pool was closed. Would have found a different place that their pool was working. I will never go back to Best Western. I didn't ask when I made the reservation because I knew they had a pool they.
