On the day I was checking out, I had the “do not disturb” hanging on the outside of my door and someone from the cleaning crew unlocked my door and walked right in between 8am-9am (when check out wasn’t until 11am). They never knocked, they never made themselves known….it was really scary because I was sound asleep until I heard my door unlock and open!

It was fine. Closest hotel to where we needed to be. I booked through hotels.com (though would rather book direct, but won’t if it’s cheaper third party), and had pending (what I’m assuming were incidentals) charges from the hotel before I checked in. I called just to make sure it wasn’t a spoof attempt and the woman who answered was very rude and uneducated on the process of things which made things worrisome. I asked why my card was charged before I checked in and she said “well how would we know you had money on that card? We have to charge it to know,” which may be true but was news to me. I asked how much the security charge for each room would be - as I had booked 3 for my family - and she said “well how much were you charged?” “$300, for three rooms - is it a $100 hold per night?” “Well, u don’t know but it sounds like that’s what it is.” “Okay thank you have a good night!” Click. It was just very off-putting especially for a place that hasn’t been updated since 1989 if I had to guess. I would be fine with that based on location and rate, but anything that requires monetary involvement without my knowledge is just a little weird to me and I would expect a full explanation from the people charging me. I would drive the additional 30 minutes to stay elsewhere if given the opportunity again.

Expedia canceled my reservation for no reason and, to top it off, they didn’t notify me. Avoid Expedia at all costs and make reservations directly through the hotel. Lesson learned.

The hotel was okay....but the price is definitely too high for what i got. The tile on the bathroom floor was cracked and broken (it even moved under your weight). The beds were decent, it had a microwave and mini fridge. Breakfast wasnt anything spectacular, but there was a decent selection of items. Not sure id stay there again, unless they do some maintenance or lower the price. (I paid $180 for 2 queens, for 1 night)

We stayed for 4 days and we never got maid service! Turns out we had to ask for it. All that money and we have to ask them to clean the room? Never have we had to ask for maid service anywhere. Sheets were stiff, never got any new towels. Breakfast was all packaged processed food. Just terrible

The person we spoke to when booking the hotel was quite rude and we decided to use hotels.com instead of the person at the front desk. When we checked out, I'm pretty sure the same person was the one checking us out, as she snapped at us to just put the cards on the desk. She was on her phone at that time.

The clerk at check in seemed confused about our reservation, but was kind. She made sure to tell us about the breakfast as the high point for the stay. Sadly, the breakfast was a typical high sugar/high carb with no protein beyond high sugar yogurt. Kids might love it, but we had to skip it to go find an appropriate breakfast.

Booked this hotel bc it was the cheapest for move in weekend at NMU. We’ve stayed there before but unfortunately this time the room smelled like stale cigarette smoke, the pillows were really bad quality and the bathroom was a bit beaten up (scuff marks on walls, tiles cracked etc) and the staff were super grumpy. Felt like a rip off for the marked up cost of the room for move in weekend.

I called Expedia who then contacted the hotel, the person at the front desk told Expedia they had no complaints. Twice I complained. We did not stay the 2nd night because of the smell. The hotel was good. Typical of a budget friendly hotel in a rural area. The staff was friendly. The walls were thin and the people staying there were all there for winter sports, so there was quite a bit of noise from clopping boots, but the hotel was very accommodating to those who were there for snowmobiling and fat biking. I have been to a lot of hotels for bike trips, and always do, but this was the first time I have ever been asked by staff to take my bike to my room because they know how expensive it is and they don’t want anything to happen to it on the property, which felt very welcoming.
Breakfast was very basic, coffee and carbs; cereal, toast, muffins, etc. There was a pool and hot tub which looked nice, but I didn’t bring a suit, so I didn’t partake.
I would stay here again because of how welcoming it was and the proximity to the RAMBA trails.

Very cold air was coming through the opening around the ac unit in the wall. The pool has seen its days and the \"new\" sauna was very week maybe 70° after and hour of running. The beds were hard as a rock.
