There was an ant problem. My kids dropped some popcorn on the floor and when we woke up the kids screamed when they saw the popcorn moving across the floor (the ants were carrying it in groups). There was a large family party going on in the hotel - they took up lobby and first floor hallways. They were incredibly loud and intrusive.

I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times recently. Each time I've found the hotel to be clean and the staff to be quite responsive to my queries/requests. I would stay here again in the future when traveling to the Portage/Dells area.

The property and rooms were quite dated and were in need of repair. The hot tub was broken with no estimate when it would be fixed. The television in my room wasn't working correctly. Maid service did not occur for the four nights I stayed. Carpet in the hallways were stained and dirty. I will not be staying there again!

Not fancy, clean room to get sleep btween ski days

The hotel is fine for a place to sleep. The shower design makes it hard to keep water contained, and it's clear this is a problem. It's also a bit weird to have the coffee maker in the bathroom. The beds were good, and the room felt clean. Expectations weren't all that high, but breakfast was actually better than I figured it'd be. Check-in and out was easy.

In short, I would stay again, but only if the price was cheaper. I picked this higher priced hotel thinking it would be nicer than other nearby ones, so I might try a cheaper place which would probably be similar next time.

The cleaning crew and the breakfast lady were TOP NOTCH. All staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean. The will clean daily unless you have DND. Breakfast was always hot and full. Also some cereal options. Downside was the hot tub wasn't working and pool room was very chilly. The sauna was nice.

Everyone was great, the rooms and amenities were great. The only thing was the hot tub looked like it could use some cleaning it looked a bit black on the concrete, not trying to nit pick, because the kids loved every bit of our stay. And we will definitely return. Breakfast was served at the time frame we were told. And front desk staff very kind and informative. Our request were met right away and that meant a lot.

This is still the nicest place to stay in Portage but our room was in need of some upgrades. Seems it may vary by room and floor, as we've stayed several different times. Bed was comfy but pillows are tiny and shaped oddly. Towels are thin and had noticeable old stains. Breakfast was ok.

We really enjoyed the king suite with our toddler. It’s great to have the extra space when they were asleep. There was only an extra blanket for the pull out sofa and no pillows. When I asked about getting pillows only 1 was found/available. Otherwise a great stay!

Out room smelt musty, a/c didn’t work well. Bathtub and bathroom sink drain took several minutes to empty after using it so that could of been a reason for the smell of the room also
The hotel was super busy so we didn’t bother anyone with these issues, I’m sure when they clean they know that it doesn’t work well…..

Would stay here again

The receptionist who \"welcomed\" us had a brash personality and lacked hospitality skills. All other staff, including the housekeepers, were polite, courteous, and helpful. There was a hot breakfast every day with regular options of eggs, sausage, pancakes, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, pastries, toast, yogurt, and fresh fruit. The hotel was clean and well up kept. The pool area was very nice and included a hot tub, sauna, shower, and rest rooms. Our bed was a pillow top and very comfortable. We stayed in a suite that featured a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi had a broken knob but functioned well. The location was about a 30 minute drive from the Dells - a bit further than we'd prefer but away from the hustle and bustle.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would stay at this hotel again.

Was very disappointed in the room. I used to stay here a while back and it was great now its horrible. Bed was very uncomfortable, hole in the ceiling above the couch, walls had crackers and paint missing. The floors look like they have never been cleaned properly. It was just bad.
