Hotel was good, my room was quiet, bed was comfortable, shower was great!! AC worked great, the free breakfast unfortunately was one of the worst I have ever had. Hashbrowns were wilted and cold, eggs were usual, not much of anything extra coffee was ok, but overall wasn’t good and I love breakfast. Staff was super friendly morning and evening staff… definitely would stay again when in Duncan.

The person who checked me in was on a phone call, didn’t hang up just put his cell phone down. Rushed me, didn’t give me the correct info. Treated me like an inconvenience to his phone call. As a result I wasn’t made aware of an extra fee.

The person I spoke to in the morning was combative and not very accommodating until I explained my experience.

The mattress was expired, it was sagging and damaged, so I woke up with a headache and bad back.

The breakfast is painfully early. It should be until 10 am at least.

This was potentially the worst hotel stay I've ever had. I've never stayed in a room with such poor sound proofing before and sleeping was miserable. You could hear EVERY time someone opened their door. It didn't help that the bar had karaoke playing super loudly too on Friday and Saturday night. You could hear everything. The guy working at the front desk was lovely but there's only so much you can do to block the noise. It was hard to fall asleep before 1am and I was woken up both mornings around 6 from noise in the hallway. I was on the first floor and I also was playing white noise from a speaker to try to drown it out, and I was still woken up.

The rooms themselves had patched seems/holes that weren't finished and just a really poor available amenities.

I definitely wont be back.

This is a Pet Friendly hotel, it has a \"pet side\" and a \"non pet side\" in my reservation I asked for \"non pet side\" as I was not bringing one. When I got there he claimed the hotel was fully booked and had no other choice but to put me in the \"pet side\". I said \"OK as long as it's clean and quiet\", the contract I signed noted that people with pets were responsible to keep them quiet or be faced with charges that the hotel would have to credit their other guests for the inconvenience of an annoying pet.
I went and napped after a long day and realized the dog next door was locked in the bathroom where its tail kept banging against the wall or tub and it kept barking, I complained at the desk, and went for dinner. Upon my return the dog was still doing it, so I called the desk, they went and spoke to the other guest and when done the guest proceeded to bang on the shared wall of our rooms. An hour later the dog started again and I again called the desk to no avail. Next morning the clerk promised that he'd get his manager to call and suggested they'd offer a credit. we are now (6) days later and no call and no credit.

Tge guy on the desk was ok. The restaurant/bar was playing karioke (extremely badly) at an incredibly loud noise. No way could anyone enjoy food or drink and the noise carried trough out the ground floor. And it didn’t stop until 11pm.
Pillows were too small and not firm enough. Sheet and cover were too short.
Very expensive fie a motel feel.

Check in at 4 pm. Front desk said that was standard in all BW facilities. Checked with BW Customer service and found that was a lie. If one wanted an earlier check in it was an extra $30.

Overall, the feeling was financially desperate. A lot of little things said the owner/ franchisee was nickel and dimeing it.

Duncan needs competition. At the least the owner and management of this hotel need to check into the BW Northgate in Nanaimo to see what a quality experience looks like.

I don't think I will return to this location ecen though i am a loyal BW customer.

The lack of consistency between BW locations is very apparent in this location.

Would not allow early check in, Bizarre but fine. Could hear the lounge/karaoke in our room, just put the TV on. Went for breakfast at 9:15, as it ended at 9:30 which is early for a weekend continental, in my opinion. When arrived, I find that the limited amount of food was being cleared already. myself and another guest had to ask for the server to leave until we could get our food. stale cookies, broken toaster a few apples for fruit, multi coloured scrambled eggs, unappealing warm sandwich meat slices, dried up hash browns. Had staff carpet cleaning outside our door early morning. Just an overall unpleasant experience. Not sure I would stay there again, other than for the convenience. Priced for too high for the standard of the room, beakfast, etc.

I was only staying 1 night on a work trip, it's a great hotel for this type of stay. The property conditoin is good, parking is great, nice new TVs and the pub/restaurant on the main floor was good and convenient. I would recommend this place for easy access from Hwy or for short-term stays for work or with family. Not much to walk to around the hotel, so expect to drive to where you are going.

Staff were great, our dog even received a little welcome bag with some treats and doggie doo bags, nice touch. The restaurant was very busy, a good sign and it did not disappoint, it was very good. The breakfast was decent and had something for everyone. I didn't go in the pool but it looked decent. Room was great - the only complaint was the tub drained super slow while showering. Would recommend and at $200 was a good value.

Only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bathroom ceiling was unfinished. Like they renovated the property and forgot to finish the ceiling (see pic). Toilet seat was the wrong size for the toilet and uncomfortable using it as too close to the wall (could have been because of the incorrect seat).
