Remarkable family reunion after 53 years

Kaari assisted us at the very beginning prior to check in.
We left our bags in the lobby and prepared to grab lunch. The exchange machine found in the lobby did not give us the $100 dollar conversion to Yen. After speaking with Kaari, she notified the machine technicians who arrived later to address the situation. It was discovered that the bills inserted were folded up onto each other. We were given the exchange rate from the hotel instead of applying for the refund.

Kaari also assisted with regional memorial sites as she had tremendous knowledge of local history. It was so comforting to find staff that truly cared about our unique situation. 53 years have passed since my return.

When it was check in, another person checked us in, applied our very new DoubleTree Hilton Honors and provided us with a premium room due to gold status with the hotel. When we checked into the room, we were greeted with two towel swans and a note which read “Welcome back to Okinawa!”
We were very touched by the display of kindness.
When returning to Okinawa, I will make sure to book with DoubleTree Naha.

Beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable.

The staff were very helpful and approachable. The room was very spacious and very clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent and lots to choose from. However, there was no room service and the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner. So we had to hunt down local vendors to find food for dinner. Very close to the monorail 1 minute walk and only a few stops to the airport.

New Year at DoubleTree Hilton

The DoubleTree Hilton is located right next to the monorail for easy access to Naha. I could not fault the staff - - the service was exceptional. We stayed during New Year - - peak season - - could not complain. The rooms are not modern; however, we stayed in a King Suite standard, bed was comfortable, shower hot and a coffee machine is all we needed for a good night rest.

This hotel is conveniently located minutes away from the monorail and bus stations. It is a short walk to Kokusai Dori where there is abundant shopping and eating establishments. Our room was small but clean, and housekeeping service was excellent. I would recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel located right in the center of Naha. Conveniently located off the main road, walkable distance to a variety of restaurants and the metro station. Parking was a bit difficult to find at first, but after that everything was very smooth.

Great location right next to the monorail and 10 mins to Naha airport and close enough to the shopping belt. However that was kinda the only redeeming quality. Service staff experience was expected for the tier of hotel it’s advertised as. We had 2 rooms and one didn’t have any water or amenities like toothbrush provided. Rooms are dated and to be honest quite dusty. They don’t seem to dust anything that’s covered. Sound proofing isn’t great so light sleepers be aware. I had difficulty falling asleep with the road noise(sirens/motor racing noises).

Great location. Everything was fine except every single day the breakfast options arev the EXACT same which would get annoying if you're staying >3 days, also the room cleaning was subpar. They didn't replace towels, didn't change dirty cups and they didn't refill the shower gel.

Hotel location is excellent, near monorail and naha bus terminal. Room carpet and air con I think not that clean which trigger my sinus. Confuse me on the booking double room which not a Queen size bed. Therefore I have to pay 1000yen per night to get a Queen size bed room. This is what I not happy about. Reception explained we need to allow house keeping to clean room this is another confuse we expecting room will be clean every-day by default. Anyway we hangj the tidy up room card at our outside door every-day when we out for the day. Surounding restaurants are nice just that some need to make reservations ahead.

Close to public transportation. The monorail from Naha airport is about a 10 minute ride with the station just across the street from this hotel. The bus station is only 1 street away, very convenient! Staff was kind and very helpful. Don't forget to ask for your cookie welcoming gift when you check in.

Very convenient hotel for mono rail and bus station.
Upgraded to a bigger room and very glad we did.
It was still not a very big room and bed was up against the wall on one side.
Complimentary, just baked cookies on arrival and departure were a nice touch.

Another lovely stay in a Double Tree Hotel - I'm not just saying that because of the cookies!

I was greeted in a typically Japanese warm welcome, thankfully in English, with check in being a breeze, followed by asking if I needed any help with the local area which was most helpful in helping me to find the local sights and shops.

The rooms are a little small, but perfectly adequate and comfortable so no complaints there at all, and the bonus of a plug socket not controlled by the pesky wall key card box for charging laptops etc.

I headed out for the afternoon and dinner which was really nice, and Naha is a lovely little city and I was treated to good weather.

Breakfast in the hotel was good, with an excellent selection of both local and western styles of food, good fresh fruit juices (the standard by which a hotel should be measured), and just as important, good coffee.

The location is very near to the airport without traffic takes less than 5 mins travel time.

The mono-rail is just out of the door-steps, will bring you to all the major shopping mall, and amenities.

However, if you are heading out to kokusai dori it's a bit further.

The food nearby the hotel is not as good as the ones at Kokusai dori

The hotel location is great, opposite the monorail station and bus terminal. The staff were warm and friendly, especially the breakfast staff. The breakfast selection was good. The room was clean and quiet. The toilet amenities were complete. Would definitely consider this hotel when I visit Naha in future.

- good service

Cons:
-room is older. looked more like a 2-3 star hotel
-bathroom was on smaller side (considering how small bathrooms are in Asia). banged knee a few times on sink trying to get in/out of shower
-after cleaning, plates were left behind in our room and not taken away. There was also a bad smell in the washroom after the room had been cleaned.
-fridge isn't cold
-no in-house gym. provided a pass to a community gym. approx 10-15min walk from the hotel

When I booked hotel online in Japan, asked some information for room I want, but I was arrived hotel early, gave me any room available. So, asked again at front, I have to wait til 15:00, then came back check in time, I got room I did not requested location of room without notice. Serviced me at front lady was Asian but not Japanese, may be did not understand my Japanese Or just give me any room? I am reward member that why trusted Hilton hotel to reserved. I did not treated as member. No customer service anything asked. Just said sorry only answered.

Super small room and breakfast is boring.....not much choice....no drinking water provided.....although tap water is drinkable......the fridge not cold, not much channel on TV......parking is expensive (Y$1500 per night)........under Hilton brand but not of the standard that I need to pay for.......won't stay again........

There was no water bottle in the hotel which is pretty standard in any hotel, even cheaper hotels.
In addition, we tried using the computers in the lobby to book air tickets to reroute our flights due to the typhoon urgently only to discover that one computer was not working and the other was dead slow. Expected much more from the Hilton group.
