We had a wonderful time staying at this hotel and the staff was really lovely, patient and helpful. I misread the French menu and didn’t see that they didn’t have a main course option which I could choose as a pescatarian, and they made a last minute substitution perfectly. I would highly recommend anyone seeking a restful getaway to opt for Volando. Our only suggestion is if there could be a gym added (but the surroundings are perfect for hiking)!

Old hotspring hotel in a great location in Urai

The property was quite old but fairly well-maintained. We stayed in a bigger room but the room smelled damp and a bit moldy. The public hotspring is nice but weekend could be quite crowded.

Zen hot spring in Taipei

We love the service and the property. We’re greeted with warm friendly staff and very detailed introduction of the hotel by Jacob. The dinner at the restaurant was very nice. The public hot spring area need a little tidying up , we end up soaking up in the hot spring 🛀 bathtub in our room . Our room was the rooftop suite with balcony, specious and comfortable bed 🛌, only misshaped was some dirty used teapot and open bottles of drink in the refrigerator. Overall the price was high for what they offered. We love hot spring in Japan and this hot spring hotel need to pay more attention to details if they want return customers. The essential oil burner they use through out the hotel was big plus, feels very calm & relaxing 😌

Quiet hot spring resort

The hotel is generally great for hot spring, the French cuisine and for resting. There are not many facilities in the hotel other than the private hot spring and the public hot spring. There is no gym, library or other facilities you would expect in a hot spring resort.

Check-in was not very smooth and organised. We drove and arrived the hotel, with the valet parking staff not super friendly... We arrived the hotel at 2:45pm, hoping that we could get to the room immediately, but were told that the room was not available yet (official check-in time is 3pm and we have emailed in advance that we will be on time). We were sent to the restaurant for afternoon tea, but the waitress at the restaurant was not told that we were being sent to the restaurant, and hence she was puzzled and kept asking whether we were hotel residents and our room number (which we did not know)... When we got back to reception by ourselves at 3:15pm, we were led to our room, but the staff was unable to find another key of our room (we should be given 2 keys), and they had to come back to our room 15 minutes later to pass us the other key.

Service was fine but way below what one would expect of a Relais & Chateaux hotel. No one helped with our luggage upon arrival and we had to collect our luggage from the hotel shuttle and took that to the lobby by ourselves. Many facilities were not available/cancelled during our stay and no alternative was offered. Hotspring facilities were rather basic and quite crowded in the afternoon.

This is a great place to just relax and unwind. A comfortable walk from Wulai but then far enough out to be relaxing. The hot spring water is pumped into the bathroom which is just great, the bed super comfortable and the food was excellent.

The best hot spring hotel in Wulai

This is a luxurious and lovely hotel. The warm and helpful staff make the hotel lovely. The hotel itself involves into the neighboring nature perfectly and emphasis on the living, soul and art. The room is clean and decorated nicely in a warm way. The quality of the hot spring stands out among this area. The location is good and close to the main street in Wulai. The restaurant offers nice French food with Taiwan local ingredients in unique way. Overall, it is a pleasant stay in Wulai and definitely won't let me disappoint in any way.

The service was good and room was clean. But, food was really bad. Two years after storm, construction for water way was in progress. Walking to old town or anywhere is tricky as there is no side walk while vehicles are traveling fast.

We came as a couple for one night only.

We found the service to be very attentive, however our room conditions were worn down. For example, there were cracks along the wall, limestone deposits on the soaking tub, wooden doors with chipping at the bottom. The hotel also looks de-conditioned exteriorly. It is not an issue of cleanliness because these things can not be scrubbed away.

We found the meal at the Italian restaurant to be quite mediocre for a relais and chateau enterprise. Nonetheless, the staff are attentive and aim to please.

Good hotel just a bit out of the city.

Volando Urai is a great hotel with a great staff. It's a little secluded but they offer FREE shuttle pick up from MRT Xindian Station (Subway). Just make sure you call the hotel and reserve a pick up seat cause it's limited.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The hot spring in Wulai is known for \"Beauty Spring\" which supposingly moisturize and smooth your skin. After dipping in our hotel room tub twice. I felt like my skin did get smoother, especially around the knee and elbow.

This hotel offer free wifi, we had a free dinner and chose the Chinese restaurant. The food was wonderful and the service was great. This hotel is a bit out of the way. But with the free shuttle pickup, it's a great choice if you're willing to make the trip.

Overpriced hotel. Wulai not worth visiting.

Positives:

-River view
-Reasonably nice decoration and rooms

Negatives:
-One of the worst meals I have ever eaten. The chef obviously had a licence to do anything he wanted. He should really keep to creating Tawianese dishes with FRESH ingredients and stop playing around with 'fusion' and failing miserably. It was free for a reason I suppose.
-Incredibly over-priced. Much better hotels in more interesting locations to visit in Taiwan. E.g Silk's Place in Taroko Gorge.

Relaxing Getaway!

This was the first hot spring I've been too and boy was it an experience. We were greeted by the friendly staff with some afternoon tea, which was delicious, and then escorted around the property to check out what they had to offer. The whole place is gorgeous.

We stayed in the Rooftop suite and loved it. The mini hot spring in the bathroom had a view of the river and the mountain side - it was so relaxing! We tried out the chinese menu for dinner. The sparkling Taiwanese red wine was delicious!

I'll definitely be staying here next time I come to Taiwan!

Everything you would expect from a luxury hotel. Impeccable service. Great food and facility. Being so close to the road, there is a chance you will be in a room that is noisy (in the road side of the hotel on the upper levels). Every motorcycle and car going up that road in the middle of the night will become the music you have to sleep with. Besides that, be prepared to have your every request fulfilled to your satisfaction. Breakfast in your room. Not a problem.

Great place to unwind and relax

Unassuming exterior led to a serene lobby with spectacular view of the river. I was most impressed with the demonstrations and shows by the artistic team on gong and drums, which provided spiritual nourishment with a touch of zen. A bit disappointed that the cultural tribal dance performance advertised on their website had to be arranged in advance 2 weeks ahead. Staff were friendly and efficient. In room hot spring tub of good size, and bath amenities were of superb qualities from L'Occitane. Only complaint was that the DVD player kept getting stuck and automatically rewinding every 30 minute or so, and the sofa was really not comfortable, with poor back support. Maybe with such nice environment, nobody bothers about watching movies...

Resort with a touch of zen

The artistic team has infused a theme of zen with various drum and gong performances throughout the day which resulted in a sense of peacefulness and serenity in the resort. Superb cuisine provided in the two in house restaurant. My only complaints were 1) DVD player kept jumping backward repeatedly, and (2) sofa in the bedroom quite uncomfortable for watching movies.

I can see the formal glory..

Top price to pay for what we could see once could be a great hotel. Furnitures are dated and floorboards are lifting. Did not enjoy my night of sleep as my 'top floor room' is right next to the main road where I could hear motorbikes/buses hoonning up the hill. I've stayed at many other hotels which charges less but a lot more comfortable. The price this hotel charges is on par with Ritz Carlton but no where near worth the cost. Would not recommend to anyone.

The small boutique hotel is located by the river with architecture that reminds us of Vancouver, lots of wood and stones. Unfortunately, the Wulai old town is run-down and tacky, so there was nothing much to see around other than hiking. It rained the whole 3 days we were there. The dinner was great but the American breakfast can be improved with a bit more choice on how eggs are prepared, and choice of bread. We did not like the Japanese style omelette.

Warm, friendly, and helpful staffs. Room, bathroom, and dinning area all faced to the beautiful river.The river color is as blue as those lakes of Canadian Rocky mountain. Everywhere is clean and peaceful. Music activities are touched to our hearts. The hotel package is full of surprising pleasant enjoyments. We love their afternoon tea, breakfast, dinner, midnight snack (room service), fruits, and snacks in room. Their massages services are wonderful too.

Hidden gem

Took a family trip to wu-lai and stayed at this beautiful hotel. We had 7 people in three rooms, and everyone was very happy about the trip. The only down side of the hotel is the location since its in the mountain, but it wouldn't be a problem if you're driving, or else you'll need to book the shuttle with the hotel from the nearest MRT station. The service, room, food, hot spring are all wonderful. the public pool of hot spring is quite old but its still pretty decent and spacious. After all, it is a very refreshing vacation we all needed. Will definitely recommend for someone who's looking for a very relaxing getaway.

Luxury resort hotel with hot spring

The hotel has only about 20+ rooms. Renovation was very modern and stylish. Zero complain with our room. They gave me a room at \"corner\" which I can have a 270 view of the serene scenery. One problem with the hotspring is that the outdoor pool is too open. I believe more bush should be planted outside the hotspring. But the access to the Wulai Old Street is a bit dangerous - we had to walk on the car road.

静かでとてもゆっくりすることが出来ました。ぜひまた訪れたいです。

頂級住宿體驗，從代客停車、辦理手續、幫忙拿行李進房到介紹房間及整體飯店都非常棒，下午茶精緻好吃，大浴池則稍微普通，但有戶外浴池，在低溫中泡溫泉很舒服，唯一可以挑剔的是餐點部分，感覺食材都很高級，但呈現出來的味道很還好，有可能是我們自己口味不合，但晚餐上菜速度實在太慢，整體吃完大概要2小時，難道是因為是法式的所以連上菜速度都要法式?早餐一樣也是口味上沒有很喜歡，但整體餐點的呈現方式都是很高級根與有質感的，床的部分非常舒適無可挑剔，房內飲品皆免費，浴室硬體及備品也都非常高級舒適，唯一小缺點是浴池是用石頭材質砌成的，可能當天真的太冷，熱水竟然無法維持，導致熱水放滿後呈現上面水很熱，下面卻是溫涼的水溫，真的不誇張，一直狂加熱水也一樣，而且會導致上面的水溫太高，這種現象還是第一次遇到，石頭沒泡到水的部分也冰的可以，所以合理推測是石頭導冰的速度過快導致的。整體來說仍是非常棒的體驗

A very nice hotel in the Wulai area. The hotel is well designed, with art work or artistic decoration everywhere. The price of the room include 4 meals, in addition to dinner and breakfast, you also have afternoon tea, and a light late supper. There is a good show at 3:30pm outside the café where you have afternoon tea. A very good show, don't miss it.
The dinner is also nice. They attended to details such as preference or allergic to food. The hotel would ask you well before you check in.
Our room is facing the river, with a nice view and very quiet. Book a room with a river view, and don't forget to spare some time to enjoy the view.
The hotel is a short wall from the Wulai old street, about 5-10min. Not a difficult walk, however, it is along a busy country road, with narrow pavement. It would be better if the hotel could provide shuttle bus to and from the Wulai old steet, so that the guest could avoid walking on this busy road.
The hot spring bath is good, as expected for a hotel of this price range. However, the sauna rooms (both hot and dry) are disappointing. The temperature is too low for a decent sauna. And, the rooms seemed not well maintained.
The price of the hotel is extremely expensive. Given the meals, services, shows, hot spring, river view, etc., this is understandable.

リラックスできました

MRT新店駅から宿泊者向けのシャトルバスサービスがあり、台北市の中心部から1時間余りで想像以上に手軽に行くことができました。
館内や部屋は落ち着いた雰囲気で、静かにリラックスして過ごすことができました。インテリアも、先住民のタイヤル族の織物などが使われていて素敵でした。宿泊中に太鼓等のパフォーマンスがあり拝見しましたが、とても印象的な内容で良かったです。
フロントの方は英語を話されるのでコミュニケーションは特に困りませんでした。
スタッフの皆様には親切できめ細かなサービスをしていただき、食事も苦手な食材などについてご配慮いただき、大変快適に過ごさせていただきました。
またいつか、ぜひ伺いたいと思います。どうもありがとうございました。

リラックスして息抜きするのによいところだと思いました。都会の近くの温泉地にありながら、リゾート地のヴィラのような雰囲気と言えばわかりやすいでしょうか。晩ご飯のフランス料理、朝ご飯（中華料理を選択）とも豪華でとても美味しかったですし、ゆっくりできる部屋、お風呂、目の前の川の景色なども素晴らしかったです。天気が悪かったので、周辺を回っていませんが、それは次回の楽しみにしたいと思います。

滞在中のアクティビティは魅力的でした。アフタヌーティー、ディナー、夜食、朝食、客室のフリーのドリンク、温泉のお風呂ととてもよかったです。ディナーのフレンチが日本でのフレンチと比べるとどうしても見劣りしてしまいました。この価格帯だと日本でも選択肢が多いのでメインがもっとよくならないと次にいこうという気持ちにはなりませんでした。多種にわたるサービスは魅力的ですので、メインのディナーがよくなるとまた行っていいなという気持ちで出発いたしました

Excellent location and services; very caring hotel staff; meals were exquisite and delicious; rooms and facilities were very nice too but they seemed to be getting old. This was our second time staying in Volando. We are happy to go back.

員工親切友善, 服務態度良好. 房間舒適寧靜, 景觀一流. 法式晚餐水準甚高, 早餐有中或西式選擇, 兩者都不錯. Spa設施及按摩師手法亦十分好, 但價格貴了一點點, 不過值得一試. 整體而言十分好.

非常に快適な滞在でした。
特に台湾の味を上手く使ったフレンチは美味しく、朝食は洋食も中華式も健康で美味しく、心身のリフレッシュになりました。
フレンチレストランは非常にスタッフの質がただし、高いのですが、イタリアンレストランの方は今一つで、残念でした。イタリアンレストランの方は日帰り入浴のお客さんも多いからなのかもしれません。
大浴場は広く、朝と夜は人が少なくてのんびり。部屋風呂も広くてゆっくり出来ました。
