We were upgraded to a suite by the General Manager, which offered a breathtaking valley view. We truly enjoyed the experience and greatly appreciated the thoughtful gesture.

The service was terrible, and the food was stale. We were watching the World Cup soccer finals, which went into penalty shootouts and would have ended in 5 more minutes, but they turned off the only TV we could watch the match on because it was their time to shut down. This is the World Cup finals; I think they could accommodate 5 more minutes. Also, there was a lot of drama when we requested an additional hour for checkout.

The experience was really good. The food and service is good. Rooms and view is great.

However, the hotel must allow alacarte ordering for dinner in the cafe ir restaurant. Alacarte is only possible from room which is not good at all.

Will think twice before coming back here

I have been to this hotel before and also rated 5 star but this time I see and complete change
The hotel is now outdated, cleanliness needs to be their priority now, the food was tasteless and more then anything else the service was absolutely bad I felt I am in a 1 star hotel
The only good part of my stay was the service offered at the reception specially Denish Mistry he was absolutely amazing

Great location in terms of view. Stunning view of a waterfall and cliff from the hotel. Although the hotel is almost next to busy expressway, there was very little or no disturbance in the room.
The breakfast spread, although not so vast, was not too bad. The food here is terribly expensive for the quality. We ordered veg biryani costs Rs 500 per plate (plus taxes). I think a roadside biryani would be way too better than this. Other day ordered a Paneer dish and Daal with two portions of Tandoori roti. Costed Rs 2000 and again the quality too mediocre. Roti of the size of big poori.
All in all, good stay but disappointing food.
If you don't ask, they don't clean the room but this could be due to covid restrictions.

Great Stay in a Great Place!!

We have been to this resort for a 1/2 to 1 day picnic several times, which have been of immense pleasure. Once before we had stayed for 1 night, but we were disappointed because there was a \"destination wedding\" going on, which disturbed our stay. But this time it was different. Covid-19 had put so many restrictions, but staff did their best to cover up thru a sincere and good service. After being open after a long lock down also, they had maintained the resort to a pretty decent level. We really enjoyed our stay!!

They can open the restaurant with social distancing and atleast do something special for in room dining ....with no discount and old property ...only reason they are there surviving because of view.
Waste of money could have choose better property in that areas.
At check inn they took card and swiped without confirmation that I have paid for the room.
Two slice of toast bread 300/- including taxes.
And not even a sorry to improve customer service.
We are going out for our self to feel good and also revival of the industry.
Lots of Room for improvement in service.

Fabulous quiet weekend destination

It's one of the older resorts, located at one of the best vantage points to get a picturesque view of the surrounding hills and valleys. Had been there to their poolside restaurant few times before and lived it. So decided to try a weekend stay there. I'd expected an old style sort of experience. But was pleasantly surprised by large, rooms will modern design, decor and fittings. Both the restaurants and the bar serve fabulous food and drinks with a large variety. It's unusual to have a resort get all cuisines right. Also surprisingly the buffet breakfast was excellent with unusual items on it. Well trained, attentive staff. The grounds could have been larger. But there is enough greenery to go rambling around in the hills. If anything could be better, it's just how the sports section is maintained. Most of the racquets were damaged and had broken shuttlecocks.

Relax in khandala

One of the best place to stay in Khandala for the scenic view of the mountains. Hotel is little bit run down but still has the old charm. This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel.
Food is average. View is fantastic specially during monsoons. June, July and August.
Bed linen was clean but bathrooms and towels quality can be improved. Location is great. Very relaxing.

I was checking out on the day when there was a \"Maharashtra Bandh\" called by some social activists. The city of Lonavala was shut down and all the main roads where shut as well. The atmosphere was tense and it was generally deemed dangerous to go out. I was there with women and children. We were therefore stranded in the property. We were expecting the property to take a considerate view and offer us extended check out as long as it was deemed safe to move out. They were not very cooperative on this aspect. They agreed only an additional hour initially and later we ended up paying for further extension which was not caused by anything we could control. More importantly, it was just dangerous to go out and in such situation we were expecting the property to be more forthcoming and understanding. It was very disappointing to see their approach which was aloof and disinterested in our well being.

We stayed for 5 nights. The location and view is excellent. Food is very good with nice variety. Staff also is very courteous and hospitable. Only this is that the property is an old one and needs upgradation.

I chose Dukes Retreat for a weekend with my husband, mom, and new baby. The property and the deluxe rooms have AMAZING views, Incredible to wake up to in the morning. The flowers and general landscaping is done very well, and the breakfast buffet was very good. They arranged a driver room at a nearby guest house The only annoyances were: 1) it took days, two emails, and trying 4 phone numbers to get ahold of anyone before going. The hotel needs to work on their phone lines. 2) both of our rooms were insanely cold the whole weekend - when we arrived they were set at 15°, so we turned off the A/C, only for staff to turn it back on the next day — the rooms never warmed up. This is unnecessary. Overall though, a great stay.

Executive Room 1st Floor - Air Conditioning Issue

Dear Team,

Me & my wife booked for a weekend stay at Dukes Retreat in \"Executive Room\" with Balcony on 1st floor. Room No. was 112.

Although the entire Resort is beautiful and mesmerizing, the room comfort issue was drawback.

Their was problem with air-conditioning system in room. It was too cold!! Colder than even the outside ambient temperature.

After Checking in, even after adjusting the Control Panel and regulating the temperature to around 30 deg, it still felt like 18 deg. (This was after leaving the room at 30 deg.)

At evening, we called up technician to check. The technician checked the panel but informed us that even if we turn of the Air conditioning, the AC still runs for ventilating the room and the normal air would be still blowing. So he was not able to help much on this.

The result was that we had to spend the night in very drastic cold condition which made us feverish.

After returning home on Sunday 24th, me and wife both felt sick. I got throat infection and cold, and my wife got viral fever. And now we both are taking 1 week medication after doctor's visit.

Pl. take this issue seriously, and highlight our feedback to the concern team at Dukes Retreat, since even if the Resort was so mesmerizing, the room comfort issue has killled our overall stay experience

It was close to the highway

It was a very nice experience and especially the front office and staff were very warm and cordial. They had even upgraded us in to a cottage as our booking was only for a Deluxe room, with no extra cost. The place was really out of the world and we enjoyed our stay very much and would like to visit again if given a chance. Will surely recommend to our family and friends.

Pros:
Outside view from the hotel deluxe room was amazing. View of mountains, waterfall, sunrise, sunset and garden.
Quick service, hotel does not believe in delayed service.
Excellent, efficient, smiling and helpful staff.
Good outdoor activities like badminton, rifle shooting, archery, etc.
Indoor activities like Carom, Pool table, video games, novels, etc.
Good hotel and location for people who want to relax and take short vacation for everyone, especially couples.

Cons:
Internet works only in Restaurants and Lobby Area.
Buffet never served warm at Panorama Cafe, forget being hot. Had to inform the staff to heat my meal in microwave. The flames are also not lit in buffet to keep the meals hot. Made 2 written complains but no response from management.
Lots of selection of food in Buffet and A la Carte but Food taste has to be improved a lot.

Nice and Comfy!

It was a family getaway and we had a great relaxing time. Rooms were clean, spacious and decor was quite welcoming. The bathroom and balcony were also neat and well designed. The hotel staff was very prompt and friendly and we were well looked after. The children's play area is small but kept our little one engaged.
Only con i would like to mention is the location of swimming pool, it is right at the entrance and guests with luggage & trolleys keep passing by. An interior location of the property would've been more appropriate for the pool.

The snacks bar was very expensive. Breakfast and Dinner was good. The external ambiance at the walkway to the rooms (corridors) can be better. You should have temperature controls for the swimming pools, it was freezing cold. Overall the stay was good, we would like to come back again.

Overpriced!

The hotel is in one word OVERPRICED. I took a deluxe room and was charged 28k for a room in the 1st level which didn't even have a decent view. The room had mosquitoes and a dirty mirror. The restaurant meals were a disappointment to say the least! I'm not going back. A word of encouragement for the bell boys, the room service and the housekeeping lady - they did well.
