Here’s the thing — the weather was extremely hot during our visit, yet the room temperature was set to 26.5°C. It took about 5 to 6 hours for the room to cool down to a more comfortable level. Because of the heat, we couldn’t use the blanket when we first went to bed. Then, after a few hours, the room became too cold, and we had to put the blanket back on. This is not the kind of experience one would expect from a 5-star hotel.
Also, the hallway on the guest room floors had no air conditioning at all — which is quite ridiculous. Overall, this felt more like a 3-star hotel experience.

Old hotel but generally very well maintained. The bathroom at the roof top onsen needs some refurbishing, looks dull and dated. Love the activities such as tarts making, crafts making in the hotel, should have more varieties of them. The hotel also provides complimentary shuttles to take the guests to the nearby places, which is such a great service to provide! Would definitely stay here again if we revisit Yilan.

We’d a great time during our stay in the hotel. We ‘re celebrating my mom’s birthday and we entered the room with big surprises when we saw all the balloons, cute towel folding animals and hand written birthday card. 1. Check-in procedure is poor. When we checked in, we're told to wait until somebody calls to get the room key. After 3 p.m, the official check-in time, nobody called. I had to go remind the service person who obviously didn't know what's going on.
2. After check-in, I went to the gym and was told there's no towel left. After using the treadmill, I used the towel used by somebody before to clean the machine.
3. Supplies in the refrigerator were great. Spa facilities were excellent. Swimming pool was so crowded that I gave up going in.

Great hot spring resort for kids and elderly. We’ve been going for 8+years now and the kids have always enjoyed the semi-outdoor hot spring area, as well as, the kids playroom (air hockey, video games, ping pong, etc).
The facilities haven’t changed much in all these years but they’re well maintained and clean.
Meal times can feel hectic and rushed due to the sheer number of people w/two time slots available to choose from. The selection is good.
Rooms are large and spacious. We did find a pair of used contact lens in the drawers of the bedside night stand, but this is the first time in all our years there that something like this happened.
We’ll still go back during non-peak seasons (peak season meal times can be a bit overwhelming).

Hidden Gem of Jiaoxi Township
We were pleasantly surprised by our visit to Jiaoxi and especially our stay in Evergreen Resort Hotel. Jiaoxi is a peaceful and relaxing town unlike the hustle and bustle of Taipei. While the hot springs are the main attraction and magnet for travelers to Jiaoxi, there are indeed other activities to keep them occupied for a few days like many natural trails. Evergreen Resort Hotel is also a hidden gem. Although the property is not new, it has been properly maintained. The plus point is that all the hotel staffs are well trained to ensure all their hotel guests are well taken care of and making their stay a memorable one. No requests is too much to ask for. Their rooms are huge and all comes with a in-room hot spring bath tub, which makes it convenient for couples or family to make use together without restrictions unlike public bath. The hotel facilities also have many public hot spring baths and you’re literally spoilt for choice. There are also many children play areas to keep the children occupied. The breakfast spread was also very good and the freshly squeezed juices of your choice was a bonus.
We indeed have a unexpected pleasant and enjoyable stay there and will no doubt revisit again in the near future and spend more days.

The spring water tub inside the room is big enough for 2 people bathing together. They also provide welcome fruits and the mini bar is free. The location is away from the main street so it is quiet but also easy to get around. Their buffet provides a wide range of choices though the quality of different types of food is not consistent. The surprise is that they provide both Haagen-Dazs and Movenpicks ice cream and you can also choose your own fruits for making juice. The hotel provides quite a lot of facilities but we don't have time to enjoy since we are rush. Overall, we are satisfied with our stay.
