Daytime desk manager spoke English and was very helpful. He gave directions to various locations, helped paying for a taxi that did not take a credit card when we arrived without local currency, then called a money changer to come to the hotel for us. Every night but Monday, there is an amazing free fountain set to lights and music in the square in front of the hotel. The pool was nice.

The Argentino is a clean, staff friendly, and a cost efficient Hotel in the center of Mendoza within walking distance to many wonderful restaurants, stores and parks.The staff work incredibly hard to be courteous, and responsive and provided a safe and welcoming stay for me. Though the hotel is slightly older, the front desk, breakfast and cleaning staff all raised the quality for my 5 day vacation. I especially appreciated the assistance of both Tatiana and Benjamin. My hotel room had a beautiful view of the park and street and I had no problem with the late night traffic as I use a white noise machine to block the sound. Of course, this is expected for any hotels where there could be some nightlife. One side note for visitors, going to Mendoza, and anywhere in Argentina, not having anything to do with the hotel is that unlike in the United States where pedestrians have the right way, that is not the case in Argentina. For that reason, guest need to be especially vigilant when crossing the streets.

Awful stay, very rude front desk staff. Expedia gold suggests 2 included drinks at check in and then they charged us for them on check out. Room is small, no natural light, AWFUL breakfast, tasteless and super hot coffee my wife burnt her mouth on it. Decent location but for the money save yourself the disrespect from terrible staff.

The hotel was clean and adequate, a good value for the price and OK for a one-night stay in the city. The room was a bit cramped with limited electric outlets for charging phones or appliances. There was no water or anything else in the fridge.
Surprisingly and inexplicably the front desk phoned the room at 10:40pm, when we were already sleeping after a long day of travel, just to ask us at what time we planned to go down for breakfast. This has never happened to us in any hotel, and was pretty irritating.

The best thing about this hotel was location! The Plaza de Independencia was right in front of the hotel and it had a night time water show, Hop on Off bus, vendors and plenty of restaurants. We also enjoyed the breakfast. It was an exceptional Argentine buffet breakfast.

Sufficient and adequate hotel

I arrived there in the morning but the staff welcomed me to enter the room because they had a vacant room.
The room was so cute and I could see beautiful patio from the window.
I could take a rest and went around the Mendoza city well.
The morning buffet didn't have many choice but the pan were so delicious.
Overall, appropriate price and condition!

Great location — unbeatable. Located right at the Independence Plaza. If you are a light sleeper, noise will be an issue — my room is facing right at the street so I hear quite a bit of noise of people passing and such. But in BA if I am tired after a long day I am fine falling asleep. It’s a basic hotel — but comfortable and the bed is good. So if you are not expecting luxury it’s a great place to stay at decent price.

There were many hotels to choose from in Mendoza that all seemed similar in both price and amenities. The Argentino seemed unique in its style plus provided a room with two single beds at a reasonable price and with a great location right off the main park.

Staff was very helpful and spoke great English. There's a bar with beer and wine always at the ready. Breakfast is included but it's not exactly a hot breakfast. It consisted of large amounts of bread and fruit for the most part. The most “American” complaint I heard was that the cups were too small.

For our part, the biggest complaint we had is that in the summer the room AC unit was not powerful enough to combat the heat of the sun against the window until night time. The room stayed mostly warm. But generally speaking, I can recommend this hotel.

Great little hotel right on Plaza Independencia. Friendly, helpful service. Small but cute (and relatively recently re-done) rooms. Price point is exactly right - you get exactly what you’re paying for here, none of the overpriced nonsense of the other “nice” hotels in the area. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was great for location and facilities - even better was the staff. Front desk folks were always ready to assist in storing luggage or giving directions. It reinforces why in the tug of war over hotels vs short term rental stays - Htoels - like Argentino offer so much more.

The location of this hotel is perfect. Close to many good restaurants, walking distance from the San Martin Park, a lot of shopping options close by. Pros: Great location walking distance to many places.

Great location and attentive staff. We arrived very late and were put in room 326, which had a great balcony. Good breakfast selection in the morning and a small bar for all times of day. Quick 15 minute taxi to the airport and close to a lot of restaurants, shops, etc. Definitely recommend.

My hotel room reminded me of a room in a trailer or an RV. My phone had no dial tone, and was not working for the duration of my stay. There was no hair dryer in my room. There was no tub in my bathroom but just a slight lowering of the floor for the shower, and the shower curtain rod was an adjustable tension shower curtain rod. It fell down during one of my showers. There was only a shower curtain and no shower curtain liner, and the entire bathroom floor fills with water when you shower. The room doors in this hotel make very loud noises when closed, and I was awoken by both guests and staff closing the room doors loudly multiple times. My room had a very poor connection to any of the Wifi networks available at the hotel. I notified the staff that I could not connect to the internet from my room, and they said they would look into it. The connection never improved during my stay, and I had to sit in the lobby to use internet throughout my stay. I was not offered any amount of refund for lack of availability of Wifi from my room. On a positive note, the staff are very kind, friendly, and the restaurant serves good food.

comfortable accomodation - reasonable price

It's an older hotel which offers comfortable, modest accomodation for a reasonable price. The rooms are basic, but the bed is comfotable. Internet coverage didn't reach my room, so I had to spend a lot of time in the common areas working. That being said, the rooms aren't exactly designed for hanging around in. The rooms didn't have a lot of extra ammenities such as tissue paper, and extra towels. But for the low nightly cost, these are probably the areas where they reduced costs.

The staff are very friendly and the restaurant was adequate. Nearby, there are plenty of places to see and eat at. The pool area seemed nice enough, albeit closed in a little in the back of the building.

It's a nice enough hotel for a short stay, in a nice, central location, at a rasonable price.

The Argentino Hotel is centrally located (a plus), within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The front desk staff was very attentive on arrival as well as on check-out. During our stay, they were helpful in organizing tours, arranging taxis. Their recommendations for restaurants were good, except for one recommendation (skip the Don Mario restaurant). We could not be more pleased with having selected this hotel (the food in the restaurant was also good).

Good Value, No Frills Hotel

The Argentino is in a GREAT location. We were able to walk to cute cafes and restaurants. Plus, everything you \"need\" is right nearby (banks, little markets, gelato (!!), etc.) The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and very convenient, especially if you're planning on hitting the town for tours, etc. And having the small pool out back was really wonderful, especially after a long day of touring/walking around in the summer heat. Our only complaint was that our room was very musty/humid, and even when we left the AC running all day, it still never cooled down. The room was also pretty small. We didn't mind too much, but it was a bit difficult to navigate around 2 suitcases. Despite that, however, we felt this was a very good value (especially when you consider how little time you spend in the room.)

This hotel is right in the center of the city in an excellent location and provides quality rooms and service for a bargain price: very strong recommendation for anyone thinking of staying in Mendoza! The staff is helpful, some of them speak very good English. The neighbourhood is nice and safe, lots of services within a few minutes' walk. There's even a small pool in the backyard: not really for swimming, but it's ok for a refreshing dip on a sweaty Mendoza summer day. I would absolutely stay again in Argentino.

Surprisingly nice!

The lobby is nice. The hotel staff are nice and speak good English. I was a little worried about the room (paid a low rate) on below level floor towards the back. Seemed dark and dingy at first. But once I opened the curtains and window for fresh air, it was perfectly fine. I also didn't appreciate that because of its location it was very quiet at night. I stayed only one night, but the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. The complimentary breakfast was perfect. Endless coffee with warm milk, pastries, yogurt, fruit. Overall I enjoyed my stay more than expected! If you will not be spending much time in your room like me, it is a great choice.

The location was great and my single room was very comfortable. Although my friends double room was very small so make sure you check this out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only real downside was that the breakfast was pretty boring and average especially after 3-4 days.

Pleasant hotel with a great location.

The Argentino Hotel has had upgrading done to lobby, restaurant and pool area. Rooms were clean, quiet with working A/C. Room was quite small and simply presented. Location was great with an active park across the
street. Office for checking in on wine tours booked with Trout & Wine was only two blocks away. City tour bus picked up at the park. Two blocks away from hotel was a pedestrian plaza with lots of shops and eateries. Some art galleries nearby with a number of superb wine tasting boutiques close at hand. We had the complimentary breakfast which was more than adequate to start you day. Hotel Argentino was not high end but it provided a pleasant 5 night stay with a helpful staff.

Good choice in Mendoza

Great location just off the city square. Hotel staff was excellent and very helpful. Fluent in english. Hotel is near some of the best restaurants in Mendoza. It is close to the airport but not close enough to be bothered by airport noise. Our standard room was small but clean and comfortable. It has a small restaurant but the food and service was excellent. We arrived late and did not fell like going out so we were very surprised by the quality of the food and service. It is also close to the office of Trout and Wine the best wine tour operator in Mendoza!!

We live in Montevideo and just three days after Xmas to finally spend a little time doing some wine-tasting in and getting acquainted with semi-fabled Mendoza; Hotel Argentino seemed like a very attractive place to stay via the Expedia website and proved a good choice.
We took three beautifully-organized tours through Trout and Wine Tours (a strong recommendation) all of which were perfect with small groups of nine and highly personable and knowledgable guides. The Andes tour went through the mountains almost to the Chilean border with gorgeous scenery en route and an easy little hike at end with views of Mt. Aconcagua the highest mountain west of the Himalayas. The two wine tours were perfect, generous and congenial;. If you only have time for one, the Lujan de Cuyo would be my suggestion, but the Uco Valley tour was also great. Treat yourself. . Incidentally some really good wines.

Nice surprise in the centre of Mendosa

We selected the Argentino Hotel in Mendosa on a recent trip across South America based on good value for money having studied travellers reviews. I would start by saying that I would thoroughly recommend the Argentino to any fellow travellers. It does not charge 5* rates but it offers a high standard. Breakfast was excellent and I would also recommend for dinner. Public space is limited and the pool is tiny but it all works in providing a pleasant environment to relax. The location could not be better facing the main city square with restaurants and shops within a short walk. It could all have been different however as we arrived late on first night and were shown to what I described as a 'cell room' at the rear of hotel about which the evening receptionist ignored my protestations. We received an apology next morning from a much more pleasant receptionist and were relocated to a very nice room for the remainder of our stay.

Luckily the hotel had a room free for us but had we stayed there during the wine festival it would have been a different story. I emailed Hotels.com a few times to let them know about this error but nobody every replied to my complaint which I think is terrible. The hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the hotel was in a very good location. The rooms feel like they could do with being redecorated and the double bed was actually two single beds pushed together. The breakfast was fine. I would stay here again simply for the good location.

Great location great value

Perfect if you want a good value hotel with a prime location. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is a little chaotic with a lot of people in a small area but reasonable selection for the price.

Nice view of the park, comfy bed, good location.

Great bed, decent continental breakfast, great staff. Pool was not heated so too cold to swim in, but nice it was there. Outlet in our room had smoke lines out of it, so had to charge our stuff down in the lobby.

Huge bathroom, but for some odd reason, the only towel hooks were located *over* the toilet and bidet, no where near the shower! Seemed to be a theme in all our hotels in Argentina, very odd.

Hotel is across the park, a bit of a walk to the main restaurant row, but very convenient to main part of town.

Recommend it.
