The overall property is very impressive; however, the guest rooms require more attention and maintenance. Fixtures such as curtains, door handles, wardrobes, and soap dispenser stands need critical care and improvement.

On a positive note, the restaurant staff and food were outstanding and truly the highlight of our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. I would like to especially mention the warm welcome extended by your restaurant manager, Vikram, who is extremely polite and humble. Vaishali prepared and served the best tea we had during our trip. Chef Sainath and his team were excellent—courteous and helpful in preparing and serving delicious food, along with great recommendations. Server Valmik also did an excellent job.

We loved our stay at the Gateway from the beginning to the moment we left. We arrived very early and were given a complimentary early check in at 9am. Our room was extremely clean, large and with a lovely balcony area. All of the team were fabulous from front of house to the chef, maitre’d and security, they could not do enough for us to make our stay a memorable one. The pool area is huge and very clean and I had a great massage. The breakfast and buffet dinner are fabulous as is the Chinese restaurant We left very early and when we got into our car to the airport at 5.45am, we discovered two bags with a packed breakfast. We would have no hesitation in recommending to family and friends.

We had a very enjoyable stay in a well appointed garden facing room. The swing in the patio was an added bonus. Very friendly staff and we were greeted upon our arrival and the check in process was very efficient. We used hotel provided transportation to visit nearby attractions and our driver Manoj was very knowledgeable and explained many things (variety of plants, local industry etc.) on the way to our sightseeing locations. At the breakfast we had great service from Mr.Valmik and the chef Mr.Sanath. I highly recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at this safe haven. The staff was very kind. We particularly enjoyed the friendliness and safe driving by Manuj. Our luggage did not arrive and he took us to a great shop for traditional clothing and a mall for western wear. His smiles brightened my spirits daily.

We recently stayed at Gateway Hotel Aurangabad (formerly Taj/Vivanta Taj) 26th Nov to 30th Nov! travel from USA. We have always loved this property, but this trip was a complete shock. The staff welcomed us warmly, but the room we received on the 3rd floor was extremely disappointing. There was a musty smell, the furniture was old, the bathroom shower door made noise and there were white stains under the sink which made it feel like a local lodge, not a Taj property.

After complaining, the front desk thankfully on second day shifted us to a renovated room on the 2nd floor and the difference was huge. The renovated rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, but the older rooms clearly need urgent renovation. My strong recommendation is that the hotel should avoid allotting 3rd-floor rooms to foreigners or NRIs until renovations are complete.
Breakfast buffet service was excellent, but the food options are mostly Indian/Maharashtrian, so non-Indian guests may find limited choices. Security checks are frequent and can feel irritating, but I understand they follow protocol.

Despite the issues, the staff and housekeeping were polite, professional and very helpful. They even allowed us a late checkout despite a wedding booking. I will stay again only if the renovated rooms are guaranteed.

Exceptional stay - the staff were all wonderful and pleasant. The pool staff in particular were very kind to my son.

The food was excellent. The chef was very pleasant and I appreciated that he went around to personally talk to guests at table to make sure everything was just right. The breakfast options and dinner options have something for everyone.

This was such a wonderful experience and I will gladly come again when I visit India.

The overall stay was made by the attentive staff and the real desire to please the guests. The food was good, the chef and staff in the restaurant were dedicated to giving you a good experience. The hotel has dated decor, but everything is fairly well maintained and a bit of croquet game in the grounds and massage on site did cheer me up. The hotel has 3 restaurants and the outdoor one looks great, we didn't try it as it didn't have veg options. The chinese restaurant smelled of too much perfume, leaving us with Lattitude, the main restaurant for each meal for 4 days. It had enough options to keep us satisfied. There is a large swimming pool and a tiny games area, nice to spend time in the hotel - along with a few shopping places within the complex. The reception and travel desk was immencely helpful for taking taxis (really good quality - with working seat belts and Air Conditioning units)

We raised issues regarding marking of allergens but this was repeatedly ignored. The staff would bring the chef out each time to discuss needs, which was helpful but disruptive. The culture to say yes and struggling to follow thorugh is an issue in India, not just in this hotel.

The hotel packed us a wonderful breakfast on the last day as we had an unsually early train to catch. So overall I recommend staying here.

Wonderful heritage property in Aurangabad, very convenient if you are planning to visit Ellora and/or Ajanta. Beautiful and spacious grounds with heritage decor. The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. Our airport pick-up arranged through the hotel was very convenient. Dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent with extensive, delicious choices. The dining room is beautiful and there is also outdoor seating in the large courtyard/garden. Unfortunately we didn't have time for the pool. Very serene, beautiful property. Rooms are large and nicely decorated - we even had a swing on our balcony! I wish we had more time to enjoy it!

Excellent service provided by the staff. They are the number 1 asset of Vivanta. We arrived really early in the morning, and Anubhav allowed us to check in early. We were also allowed to eat breakfast brunch for one, for free, because one of us is going to be departing very early in the morning, and would not be able to make use of the usually included free brunch. I found this to be very reasonable, which you normally would not find at other properties in the US. Subsequently, our driver, Manoj took us on a local tour of Aurangabad and is very patient in telling us additional information about those places. Manoj is also very dependable, and dropped off my sister safely since she was taking a separate flight, much earlier in the morning.
Vijay drove us to Ajanta, Elora, and other local sights of Aurangabad, and he was always very attentive, even going so far as to block traffic for me on these wild Indian roads, as I crossed over to take pictures of the various sights. Ahead of my trip, I had done extensive planning by calling to shore, he was very knowledgeable and detail oriented. As an example, when I asked him which specific caves are the most important to visit at Ajanta, he called up a tour guide that he knew, and had him speak with me on the phone. This is what I call as going above and beyond. There was one other gentleman (whose name I do not recall, but he was doing his internship) who brought me water when I was sitting in the lobby. Great job!

This beautiful hotel is an oasis in the middle of Aurangabad. We enjoyed returning to the lush gardens and lovely pool after a day of sightseeing. The service is top notch! The architecture is inspired. However, it is a hotel that has long past its prime. The rooms have old fixtures, such as the bathrooms for instance. There is old caked on dirt, like you would expect in an older building. It has the feel of a Bangalore Club (where I am a member) with lovely architecture and gardens but somewhat run down. Don't expect a five star experience in terms of the rooms.

We booked 3 rooms but only one room had fresh fruits and other two did not. We requested glasses, ice and spoons which took forever. Since we ere only staying at the hotel for a few hours we did not have much time to explore the other services in the hotel. Overall it is not an extraordinary hotel and provides service like any other except that you will be paying premium charges.
We hired that cab from hotel and they charged 3 times the normal for pickup, drop and local sightseeing.

Starting from check-in to check-out, it was just perfect. By the time we finished our breakfast, to our pleasant surprise, our room was ready letting us an early check-in.

The room was large with a sit-out overlooking the garden. As it was raining almost the whole day, we couldn't go out anywhere, so sitting out and watching the rain was a beautiful relaxing experience. The bathroom was extra large and clean with plenty of toiletries.

We had almost all the meals in the hotel except for a couple of times when we went out for sight seeing. The breakfast/dinner buffet was a large spread with a well balanced combination of western and Indian cuisine and a large spread of delicious desserts. The best part was that one could also order something which was not part of the buffet and they were more than happy to serve.

Plenty of hand sanitiser dispensers all over the hotel. Impressive compliance of covid protocol with almost every staff masked all the time.

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay at the hotel with each staff going out of the way to help and serve. The service, whether at the front office or at Latitude/Tease, was just too impressive. We would like to specially thank Vikram and Santosh for letting us get away with anything we wanted to eat/drink even if it wasn't in the menu. We would also like to thank Upasana, Khizar, Kishore, Shalini, Aradhana and Ketan for their hospitality and making our stay comfortable and memorable.

The Taj group always does a wonderful job but I feel the Vivanta Aurangabad really went above and beyond to make our stay lovely. The staff was so incredibly thoughtful, we got an unbelievable deal on the beautiful room and then the staff just kept doing things to go above and beyond. They set up a wonderful tour of Elora, packed our lunch, upgraded our room, and provided all sorts of small kindness.
As improvements, we would love to suggest providing refillable glass bottles of filtered water in the room as a first choice and only bringing plastic bottled water on request as this would be so much more eco friendly. The Tea Room could also make some further effort to be more authentically Chinese.
Overall our stay exceeded our expectations. Thank you Vivanta!

My first family trip to Aurangabad in pandemic.Unfortunately all the tourist spots were closed on weekend but fortunately we landed in Vivanta.The real amazing place to stay and so the staff.I was pleasntly surprised to get the upgrade to premium room by the front desk professionals.Happy to mention about Riki , Shang , upasana and Bhavna..very warm and professional behavior made us feel very special.
Food was amazing,just loved the verity and taste.

Very very polite and professional staff. From front office to housekeeping to room service to restaurant staff in breakfast. All were very friendly. Front office staff sent a birthday cake exactly at 12. We went out the next day and the room Was decorated with baloons. Even the housekeeper knew about the birthday and wished. The manager and lady in restaurant were very polite and took care of everything. They even packed our breakfast before we left as we had a early check out. Over all a very comfortable experience and thanks a lot to each and every staff member for making our stay comfortable. If going to aurangabad to not think about any other hotel. Its value for money and centrally located as well.

i liked the staff service, the food in restaurant and break fast. the AC didn't work and there was a family next room where we could hear their loud noises. i have stayed here before but didn't get an ideal room. the ventilation in bathroom doesn't work, its hot and sweaty while using shower. the gym is very small for a property this size.

There is a discrepancy of the pricing on expedia versus what was actually charged. I was required to pay another 3800 at the hotel for additional guests. While paying for the 3rd guest was acceptable, i should not have to pay for the second guest as i specifically requested 2 beds. In addition, on check in, they ignored this request and provided me a room with one bed, indicating that they did not understand the occupancy. I would like a refund of 1500 rupees for one guest. Lovely Place

The service at Vivanta Aurangabad was incredible. They really made you feel at home there. On my last day, I had a late flight in the evening and wanted to do a sight seeing trip during the day and they let me go back to the hotel (even though I had already checked out) and use the showers in one of their rooms. That was really nice. Their restaurant (latitude) also serves the best shrimp curry!

nice place to stay in Aurangabad

Its old hotel and time for renovation, but their staffs made it up all. Staffs are truly kind and take good care of guests. Thank you, all staffs.

False marketing tactics.

I booked a garden facing room but they blocked the extreme right room from where only a glimpse of garden was available. The man who was checking in he said thats best room but he was lying Because that was the worst room as per location.

We are totaly impressed with the hospitality of this hotel staffs.Warm welcome from our arrival to the departure .
Very effecient ,trustworthy hotel staffs and the driver.
Food was really good and had a wide range varieties.
