Basic room amenities are unavailable. We went in january, which is one of their milder months and there was no heater whatsoever in our room. What made matters much worse is that there is no hot water in the room either. There is a small geyser which barely lasts one quick shower. There was 3 of us in a big room and even after following their wait times for hot water, we all regualrly ended up in cold showers.
There is no wifi included in rooms; there are 2 lockers available in the room but you have to pay additonally to use them. Simply overall it was an inconvenient stay, which i would not recommend. There is free safe street parking available included though, which is good. And location is good for beaches.

We stayed overnight on a last minute booking after a flight was cancelled. The studios were relatively \"no frills\" but clean and comfortable and a reasonable size.

There was a nice balcony with table and chairs overlooking the pool. Linen, towels, kettle, crockery, toaster were provided but no toiletries other than soap. There was a microwave and hob, with a few pans etc. There's a small fridge. The pool area looked quite nice although we didn't use it. Although the property was full it was quiet (Sunday night between Xmas and New Year).

The staff were very helpul - they booked a taxi for us to get back to the airport in the morning and responded very quickly by email when I contacted them subsequently to ask for the invoice in soft copy.

It was perfect for what we needed for an overnight stay arranged at the last minute.

*Cons:

1. No free internet in the room. You have to pay for internet per day and per device, and the prices vary.

2. Not enough hot water. The hotel booklet says the hot water boiler is 40 liters. It is not even enough for one person to take a shower. I had no hot water while washing my hair. You cannot imagine how cold it was, especially since there was a winter wind storm that day. By the way, the water is yellow in color.

* Pros:

1. Good location. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, which can take you to most major tourist attractions, although buses may come only every 20–30 minutes, or sometimes even every hour.

2. Fully equipped apartment with a fridge, stove, knives, forks, plates, etc.

* Neutral stance:

1. No air conditioning, only a ceiling fan. The weather changed quite fast, one day crazy hot (we were melting), one day with a wind storm (quite cold).

2.Room and equipment overall are quite clean but there is someone white hair everywhere.

A great hotel offering a central base for Playa de las Americas and Cristianos, both offering restaurants, shops and bars galore to suit all tastes.
The hotel is basic but is always clean, comfortable and has lovely helpful staff in reception and pool bar which is very popular.

Great hotel in a great location.

The Whala hotel is an excellent choice for couples, families and groups.The location is central for Americas and Christianos offering beaches and restaurants to suit all tastes.
The hotel is welcoming with helpful staff in reception and the pool bar.We had a great stay and will be back in a few weeks.The rooms are always well cleaned and have good facilities for a comfortable stay.

Nice hotel with lovely staff

Stayed in Whala for our last night in Tenerife. Hotel offers value for money and has nice pool/bar area. Reception manager was extremely friendly and although we arrived 10:30 am he could offer us our room immediately. Then helped us out the next day with luggage. The rooms are a bit old so guess rennovation is needed. It was extremely warm during the night but we managed with fans in the ceiling, AC would have been preferred. But all in all we had a good stay.

For what we paid the hotel is outstanding, the Guy on reception is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area,, he can’t do enough for you. The hotel is really relaxed about bringing your own drink etc to the pool. The pool bar is superb and very reasonable cost wise. The location is fantastic, especially if you’re on a budget, very clean and the water in the swimming pool is immensely clean and warm in the bottom pool! Those wanting to cool off chose the top pool.
We will definitely come back every year as this part of Tenerife is fantastic… thank you for a lovely stay

This apartment hotel was excellent. I do B&B and in my opinion the cleaning team are excellent. The desk staff were polite and helpful and available 24hrs per day. The hotel is 10 minutes easy walk the the beach and as a solo traveller I felt safe in the area. The apartment had a small kitchen area with crockery, cutlery, hob, microwave and sink. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend the place to anyone.

Central location

Basic rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Good central location with walking distance to beach, bars and restaurants. I would definitely stay again, no noisy holiday makers it was quiet, we had a studio which had everything we needed. Decor a little dated but clean and tidy. Overall we had a lovely time and hope to stay again in the near future.

We had a fabulous stay after a horrendous start to our holiday( in different apartments) imight add. The staff at the Marola Portosin were very helpful they let us check-in early once we had explained our predicament with to the reception. Then let us upgrade once a one bed apartment became available and always had a smile on their faces and helped with everything. I could not complain about anything the sunbathing area and the pool bar were cheap for both drinks and snacks.

Really enjoyed the location as it was only a short walk to a variety of different areas. Staff are really friendly and helpful and apartment was cleaned daily. Nice atmosphere in the hotel with a good mix of guests. Only negative is that there was no air conditioning in the room just a fan which made it very hot at times.

Big issue with water but nice showers

Check in was smooth and staff very welcoming. Size of room was great and clean. Nice size balcony . Bar staff were fantastic and helpful when needing a dive on local area
Breakfast expensive 9€ each
The main problem that ruined are stay was no hot water and after 3 times of complaint they replaced the boiler but there still was not enough hot water for a shower . Have long hair could not even get my shampoo out before it went cold. Also leak around toilet so woke up every day with wet floor. Did not use the pool as not weather not good . Free table tennis and free giant chess which cam in handy . Good location 7 min walk to beach but on a hill. Supermarket opposite good and handy do not use pharmacy next door charge 18€ for paracetamol equivalent
Wouldn't stay here again because of the water issue

Enjoyed our stay....

We enjoyed our stay at the Marola Portisin and any staff we encountered in the reception area and the lady at the poolside bar were very friendly and helpful.
The room was lovely, large and clean and looks like it does in the photos on the various websites though there were 2 single beds instead of the double we had booked but we didn't mind or complain as it wasn't a big problem as it was very hot when we were there. Also, there was no remote control for the tv but then we dont go on holiday to watch tv.
There was no aircon (we didn't expect any nor was it in the description when we booked) so we hired out a fan from reception (€12.50 for 5 nights) and it really helped a lot with the heat.
Cant comment on the food as we ate out all the time.
The only negative is when the cleanerscome in they tend to leave the patio door open a couple of inches, possibly to air the room but I dont think this is a good idea from a security point of view.
Overall we would recommend these apartments and would stay again.

Great Place To Stay

Greeted at reception with friendly staff. I was impressed with the room (studio room). Very clean, big studio, great view of the pool from the large balcony.
The reception staff was always willing to help. We booked the Siam water park from reception, that way you don't have to que up when you arrive at the water park.
The pool was great with plenty of sun beds. Bar plays fun retro music happy hour 4-5pm.
The hotel is well situated, not far from anything really.
My niece & I really enjoyed our short stay here & wished we could've stayed longer.

Hotel was in a good location. Right in the Middle of Los Christianos and Playa del Las Americas. Walking distance to various different beaches. Good Pool Area with Bar and Food. Staff were very helpful. Road was a bit noisy.

We have just returned from our second stay at Marola Portisin. It was just as clean as last year and the staff were as helpful however unfortunately the road outside is now much busier making it rather noisy at night. We also found other guests were quite inconsiderate rushing to bag sunbeds at 9.00 am only to not return until after lunch. We did not have this issue last year as guests just went down for sun beds when they were ready and there was always plenty available at any time. We also found it inconsiderate of guests who sat chatting across their balconies at 2 and even 4 in the morning. These were not young adults as are often blamed for this type of behaviour but older guests. These apartments are a nice walk to the beach, shopping centres and bars and restaurants it was just a shame that some of the guests were lacking in courtesy this year.

Great holiday!

Reception staff very polite. Fast check in and out. Pool cleaned every day, sunbeds scrubbed and cleaned every morning. Location just a 5 min walk from main bars/restaurants. Pool bar food really good and staff cant do enough for you. Great place to stay, great place to stay and a great holiday.

Dette er blitt ett hotell for ungdommer med mye bråk og støy. Ikke hotell for familie som det var tidlige. Har bodd på dette hotellet ca 20 ganger og likt oss godt men No er det ikke fristende. Hotellet er også veldig slitt. Rommene trenger oppussing. Ellers er de ansatte flotte folk.

Its basic and a decent option for the price. We did not have issues finding sunbeds or anything like that. Very few rowdy people either and the pool is big.

Aircon needs to be rented
Same with towels(u get money back)

The biggest con is the hotel is old and in need of an upgrade. But if u are comfortable with something simple and a bit dated(but clean and nice personel) this is a good option

Läget bra, poolbarens personal fantastiskts. Receptionens personal 2 toppen trevliga 2 har lite att jobba på. Mailade dem så fort jag bokade detta hotell ( ca 4 månader innan) om önskemål på rum våning 2 eller 3 och även då jag hade gjort två bokningar blev jag lovad att få behålla rummet hela tiden. Rummet jag fick låg på våning 1 , jag fick byta efter jag frågat i receptionen dagen efter och rummet som jag blev lovad via Mail att få behålla hela vistelsen ( frågade även halvvägs in i resan ) och det skulle gå bra. Sen kom dagen då den nya bokningen skulle börja och fick då veta att jag skulle behöva byta rum trots allt. Lägenheten som vi fick var toppen men tyvärr förtogs det av utcheckning och sendan en väntan på 2 timmar innan vi fick den nya lägenheten. Och mitt i detta har min dotter fått lunginflammation. Ingens fel såklart men det hade sparat orken med en flytt mindre.

Je n’ai pas pour habitude de donner des notes mais cette fois ci je me permets de le faire car l’hôtel est affreusement bruyant pour les raisons suivantes : rue passante et mauvaise isolation, voisins bruyants (musique forte, discussion toute la nuit sur les balcons, portes claquées jour et nuit, nombreux bus dans la rue…). Il y en a même qui se permette de sonner à la chambre la nuit.
Autres inconvénients :
- absence de climatisation et du fait du bruit il est impossible de dormir la fenêtre ouverte.
- piscine et bar ferment beaucoup trop tôt (19h), ce qui me parait trop tôt lorsque l’on est en vacances.
- propreté moyenne : rat dans le couloir (2 fois) et changement des draps trop rare quand on est à la mer (on ramène du sable).

Gros point positif : le personnel est très agréable, très sympathique et très serviable ce qui est très plaisant.
